Fantastic coffee! All local from Kona, very friendly, and prepared with care. Plenty of outdoor seating to take in the natural beauty here!

Talk to Poppy, he knows his coffee and he will make the best coffee to your liking! We came back twice during our trip, if he opens more days we would've come more. We got dirty matcha, latte, and Thai latte, they all very good!

Very cool place to get a coffee fix. Very nice and chill spot. Lots of parking and had other food booths near so it was a one stop shop for food and a coffee fix. I got the dirty matcha but didn't taste the matcha as much but the coffee was very smooth. Super nice and friendly service. Will definitely be coming back when we're on the island. read more

This is my favorite coffee place on island! If you want strong coffee that isn't too sweet, check this place out. My favorite is the Thai Iced Coffee. I'm so addicted that I have to get this at least once a week. The owner is always so nice and friendly too! read more

Great coffee and service. The man behind the counter made our drinks with skill and precision all while talking to us and making us laugh. The drinks themselves are on the sweeter side (we got the Thai Coffee and Dirty Matcha). Fantastic find and great stop right on the side of the road. read more

Poppy's absolutely is an essential stop if you're on this side of the island!! Yummy coffee and it's ran by the kindest soul. Poppy was so friendly, he chatted with us about his gorgeous set up and gave us some incredible recommendations for what to do next on the island. I recommend the thai coffee, or whatever Poppy says is best on the menu because he certainly knows his stuff! read more

Best Kau coffee! And Poppy...the owner...sweet man! Cute stand with really cute decor and vibes. He's a one man show so be patient because the coffee is so worth it! I try to come every weekend multiple times to get a coffee from him. He takes the time to get to know his regulars and their orders, so funny, and sweet. There is even caffeine free options for the kiddos. read more

I walked in and was completely ignored though there were two people behind the counter and only one person in line ahead of me. I waited patiently, feeling like this was a test. Locals know you go slow and be patient and you get good service. Aloha only. As friendly as I could possibly be, I asked for drip coffee of which there was only the dregs left in the pot, but enough to fill my cup. I was okay with that and paid, about $4.20 before tip... then found my cup (16oz) was only half full. I said thank you cheerfully and left, thinking they'll just pour the rest of that pot down the drain. The food looks good if a little expensive, but I'll never go back there. There's other places where the service can really suck but the food is ono and the price is good, like L&L. You can get a meal there for less than $10. I can deal with poor service, but poor service and high prices... nah bro.

I really wanted to try the brisket and ribs, but that wasn't possible unless I bought two plates. Chef suggested the brisket, so I got that with two sides of corn. Would the rather flimsy fork and no knife be enough? Oh yeah! The brisket just about fell apart. It was moist, which is hard to achieve; usually it's dried out. It was lightly sauced, enough to complement the meat, not drown it. The corn ears were juicy, also not dried out. I'll be looking for this truck next time I'm on the Hilo side! Gotta try those ribs.

Lots of laughter and smiles, over here! Super nice Artesian coffee/pastry stand next to Lava Thai on Hwy 130 near Orchidland.) Laid-back yet refined. Owner Poppy has Thailand and Seattle ties. The ingredients are maticulously thought out and organic/vegan choices available. My 3 favorite drinks are: 1) Buttefly Pea Tea with local raw honey and home grown lime, 2) Thai Coffee with 3 shots of Kau coffee bean espresso brewed in a real fancy machine, and 3) Matcha Latter hand stirred in front of your eyes with real Japanese bamboo stir tool. The quality, flavor, and care that go into every drink are unmatched. The atmosphere is laid-back, relaxing, and welcoming--the kind of place you can kick back and enjoy an amazing drink.
