This was one of the best drive-through coffee experiences I've ever had. The staff was genuinely some of the friendliest we encountered at any coffee shop on the trip. They were so welcoming, upbeat, and made the whole stop memorable. We had the ube latte and a pineapple smoothie, and both were amazing. The drinks were made really well and tasted just as good as the service was. This is absolutely a must-stop if you're in the area. I would go out of my way to come back here. read more

We had breakfast at this place this morning, and I was left with a very unpleasant impression. We waited about 20 minutes for a croissant and 30 minutes for a cappuccino. One of the drinks ( ole coffee ) was completely forgotten and was only brought 50 minutes later ( and it was watery ) , after we reminded the staff. Additionally, our second croissant was replaced with a bagel without asking us first. We were so taken aback that we didn't even say anything - we simply didn't want to wait another 30 minutes. I do not recommend this place. read more

This was another fantastic find on our trip thanks to yelp! We wanted a quick-ish breakfast option before heading to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and this was close to where we were staying. My macadamia nut cafe au lait was delightful and the perfect temperature. The mango smoothie was fresh and the perfect sweetness. Our breakfast sandwiches were a mix of croissant with bacon (and butter to my daughter's delight), spam and cheddar, and Portuguese sausage and cheddar, on croissants and all hot and delicious. The outdoor seating was a perfect option for us because we didn't want to eat in the car. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area for a tasty, quick breakfast! The employees were also very friendly and helpful! read more

Ola’a Coffee - Patio seating in front of the coffee shop - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Keaau, Hawaii

Ola'a Coffee is a drive through coffee spot across from Christian Liberty Academy. It's nice to have a drive through place so close to HPP! I ordered a latte with butterscotch and marshmallow as well as a couple sandwiches. The coffee was delicious, it was strong and the sweetness was perfect. The sandwiches were pretty good. They were around $9-$10 which is pretty on point with other places in the area. The barista was super friendly and helpful. I seen that they also have snacks like musubis. It's a cute little place close home. I will be back! read more

My husband was especially happy with the 24 oz latte. We each got a drink and a sandwich. Both were delicious! It's home grown and all young adults/ teens running the place. Ola’a Coffee - Spam breakfast sandwich on croissant. - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Keaau, Hawaii

Charming drive through, so many sugar free syrup flavoring options (including dark and white chocolate?! Coconut and more that I couldn't remember). Husband also got a breakfast sandwich with spam; Portuguese sausage also available. Low carb and gluten free options too. read more

Such a little gem we stopped at while driving to the volcano national park! I had the strawberry smoothie and it might be the best smoothie I've ever had. The flavor was just so pure and delicious. My MIL had the white sands coffee and hadn't stopped raving about it 3 days later. read more

Friendly and it did not take long. I had a mocha frappe and it was delicious. The property is cute and inviting. Better signage to direct you past the water/ice place is needed. People stop there thinking thats where you also can get the coffee. Had I not been adventurous I would not of seen the sign on the ground past the water/ice gate. Probably would have just turned around on the CU Hawaii street and gave up. read more

Service is great. Drinks are not that good unless you are getting regular coffee. It's associated with the Christian Academy near it.

We needed coffee for the drive back to the other side of the island and knew we didn't want Starbucks! Supporting local when traveling is what we try to do! I looked for a local coffee shop on the way and found Ola'a Coffee. What a sweet drive thru experience! They walk up to your car to take your order and you drive around to pick it up. Staff was super friendly and delivered our order quickly with extra treats for the drive home! Coffee was sooo good!! So glad we found them!! I'll remember them for our next trip. read more

This is definitely a cute place and very unique because there's not many drive-thru coffee places in Hilo. The ambience is beautiful, away from everything so there's a nice scenery and open space. I love their concept of trying to do something a little different by putting a drive-thru but by doing so they have to understand that it will have a fast pace expectation. It seems that they're still in the beginning grasps of figuring out their system because there were numerous cars leaving the drive-thru line and I chose to go outside, in-person, because of how long the drive-thru line was. I waited for about 10 minutes and the people in front of me hadn't even ordered yet. I had to leave because I had to go to work. So if the idea is for customers to grab a coffee before heading to work, pace is the area to focus on. I definitely believe this place has potential but they do need some improvement and have designated people for in-person orders and drive-thru orders so they don't lose as many customers. read more

My husband and I have been going here for a few months now and it's become our go to place. Really your coffee is as good as your explanation of your coffee. Want stronger coffee, ask for extra shots or etc. My husband likes the "Kona Mocha" here both blended or hot. He says there's so much taste to it that it's the best. I absolutely love the chicken salad sandwich here. The staff are super friendly. Talk to them on what's available as there are so much more things you can get then what you see on the menu posted outside. With my experiences, if they have all the things to accommodate you, they will. They do have a place where you can sit and enjoy your coffee but realistically I just love it's a drive through as it's my coffee and breakfast on my to work and maybe an affogato or snack on the way home. I'm sure I'll be a returning customer for a while. read more

Cute local coffee and breakfast drive thru with a cute outside lounge to sit, which we did. It was busy and the staff is small, but we waited like we would have waited at a restaurant. They make each order fresh. Food and coffee was delicious. We ordered an extra vegetarian breakfast sandwich (croissant) bc it was so good. Both Mac nut latte and chai oatmilk were yummy but definitely sweet, so you may need to specify if you don't want too much sugar. read more
