Waffle sandwich
Mandy L.

The egg waffle(雞仔餅) and the waffle sandwich (格仔餅) are good. The milk tea is acceptable. The owner recommended the steamed rice rolls, but I am a bit full at the moment so maybe I'll try it next time when I am there =)

The low low price may be inviting but my mom is right: you get your money's worth. Ordered: matcha milk bubble tea and original milk bubble tea, both of which we added the HK waffles, came to a total of under $8.00. Matcha milk bubble tea was clearly made from missing powder - still chalky to the taste. The tapioca is not cooked correctly thus it was still hard inside. Original milk bubble tea tasted decent but the tapioca was the same let down. Tea could be stronger. Now the HK waffle... the first one we received was room temperature. Clearly this was leftover by a previous customer or made early and left out in case of a rush but since no rush came, it's been there for at least half an hour. Not a great experience. Now, had the second waffle been the same, we would have thought their waffles were just made that way, but this second one is warm and freshly made. Definitely can taste a huge difference. Suggestion to improve: stop using powder flavours, always make your waffles fresh - first impressions are so importance and you just lost someone who brought two others with her but never plan to return.

Decided to give it a try after so many good reviews at Yelp and some YouTubers! Came around 1pm, and was surprised there were no one at the store , maybe the snow storm . I have ordered HK style Cheung Fan and BBT combo, and my husband ordered ramen noodle and BBT combo. Price for the quantity and quality are just right . To wrap up the lunch, we had mango ice cream egg waffle for dessert. Egg waffle was crispy and mango ice cream also taste good too. One star goes to friendly owners.

Eggette waffle was good. Not amazing, stayed crunchy on the outside Coconut slush too much ice, so thick that it can flip like a blizzard I like their 格仔餅 flavour but it wasn't amazing. The waffle was so soft I was not impressed. The best part for their place is the fact that their prices are so cheap!!! And the cool part is how you can get 2 drinks in 1 cup. Don't get fooled cause if you think wisely you get less beverage for the same amount in price. I'm not sure if you can really sit in there cause when I first went in there was a shopping cart in the store. It took up half the space. When I came back the cart was gone. I'm not sure if it belonged to a customer or they did not have time to empty out their purchases but it was so crowded my friend and I did not bother going in till the other guest left.

Banana crepe and milk tea

Super cheap eats here at Pop Up House. We got a banana crepe with chocolate and whipped cream along with a milk bubble tea for only $2.99! Honestly I'm so shocked that they can keep prices this low!!! The owner was super nice and friendly and it was only a 5 minute wait for the set. The chocolate on the crepe wasn't your standard nutella, but it tasted like actual chocolate. The crepe itself was just ok though, but definitely worth the money. There are many other items on the menu well worth trying!

If you're looking for super high quality, move on. If you're looking for a budget option with a neat double-flavour cup (good for dates!) of bbt or food that's not terribly expensive (a student), the you've come to the right place :) They often sell other things at the same time - you never know what you're going to see. Currently there's dishware out front lol. There's 2 seats inside with a table and two seats outside without a table, typically unoccupied as most grab and go

2.5 Pop Up House is located in the 2nd Floor of T&T Unionville. Opens 7 days a week till 9 pm. The owner is really nice and I admire her dedication. The 2 flavours cup is a great idea! I highly recommend that. Just so neat that you can have 2 different drinks in 1 order. You of course can share that with your date. The selection is a little overwhelming as you can have a combination of milk based or green/black tea based with toppings. And now they have a special if you buy a bbt, you will get a milk tea with 1 topping for free. So this is insanely cheap ($3.99 for 2 drinks!) Hong Kong Egg Waffles for $1 with a purchase of a drink, I would not recommend the waffles at all. Though seems like great value, mine was overcooked. It was hard as a rock and dry. Pop Up House has potential as I can tell the owner really putting in a lot of time into the business. I won't suggest you go out of your way but if you are in the neighbourhood, maybe you can give them a try? There are just so many bbt places in Markham, I don't really think they will be around if they don't make some improvements on their offerings,

Free original milk tea (tasted watered down though)

4 star for the food 5 star for the price. One word: CHEAP There's no other place that would offer everything on their menu for under $5 and their menu is quite extensive and overwhelming with all their flavours that they offer. I love the concept of duo cups 'cause they're just so convenient and you don't need to struggle between choosing which drink you want. I wanted to opt for something different (rather pay cheap to try something new rather than to pay for an expensive drink and not like it, right?). I got lychee slush (taste just like to the one from Ten Rens!) and mango yogurt juice (not the best, but it was still good). It comes when the 1 topping on ONE side only so if you wanted it for both sides, it's an additional 0.50 cents. They have many promos as well. Current promos including getting free milk tea (toppings are additional 0.50 cents) with the purchase of any drink OR get bubble waffles for $1 with the purchase of any drink (cannot combine promos, I think..). The split drinks are originally $3.99 but after a certain time (forgot which time but they're different for weekend and weekdays), they're only $3. Original price for bubble waffle is $2. Side note: my milk tea tasted watered down... Their bubble waffles are surprisingly yummy! The bubble part was really shaped like a bubble and it was so crispy when it was fresh. If you leave it til later it gets a little hard to pull but still delicious. When I was younger, I frequently got the ones from Market Village/Pmall, but THESE ARE SO MUCH BETTER!! Love how they aren't soggy. The only downside is the speed. The owner is extremely nice and will strike up a conversation with you but there seems to be only one person working (taking orders and making the food) so warning! THE WAIT WILL BE LONG. Honestly, for the price I don't mind waiting around if I'm not in a hurry but if I am in a rush, then this is not the place to go lol.

Small place with only one bench to sit on while waiting for the drinks and food. The menu was the most confusing menu i have ever seen. It's all over the front window of the place and all over the inside shop walls as well. We did not know where to look and order things. The specials are there but you had to look around to see what deals they have. When coming in the man was nice and told us about the menu since we were having a hard time on deciding what to get. We ordered 2 iced teas and fries to share. The unique thing about this place is their bubble tea is split in half. You can choose two different flavors as the price of one. However only one side of the drinks can have a topping that is included in the price. The fries were extremely small portioned and tasted just okay but for $1.20 can't complain. The drink wasn't too bad either. I would go back just to get a drink to go and not their snacks.

Taiwanese style mini crepe
Bebe B.

The location is very hidden, on the second floor inside the mall on top of t&t supermarket, but also hidden to the side and somewhere along the row. Go up the escalators, go all the way left and then turn right. Tried the Taiwanese mini crepe, the flavour was very good! The crepe could be be a bit more crispy, The combo came with original milk tea, it has more tea flavour if you get it less sweet, this is all up to personal taste. Also had the deep fried fish balls, $1.50 which is great, there was 5pcs of different varieties, wish it came with a choice of sauce such as curry, sweet&spicy, etc instead of just soy sauce (but still better than no sauce) The HK styles waffle was delicious! Soft and sweet, has peanut butter and sugar inside. Upgraded my drink to avocado slush (add $2.50) drink was fresh, and food was freshly made! Worth the wait! It's a great place to grab a quick snack! Will come back again and try the other items on the menu.

Mini shop located upstairs in Langham Square and opened later at night for those who wants an affordable dessert. Outside the shop, we saw tons of signs with the different food snacks that were sold at this shop. Egg waffles are on the affordable side - $2 for plain waffles, generally $2.50 to $3 for special waffles (e.g. ginger waffles, chocolate chip waffles, green tea waffles, etc.) They also had options for waffles with ice cream. Pop Up House also sells tons of random products including old toys, notebooks, utensils (there were some forks here), and other mysterious items. They also have some ketchup, mustard, and relish on the shelves for people to use. There are two seats and a small table for a small amount of people to sit on. The packaging of these snacks reminds me of some of those in HK. The bags and cups are generic cups and bags with premade designs on it. A VERY small green sticker with pop up house is stuck onto the packaging. We got the green tea egg waffles $3. We were asked to wait 5-10 minutes, I think this place is for small business, if more people show up, I'm not sure if they would be ready. The egg waffle itself wasn't too good (in comparison to Tung Tung ones). I thought the green tea was actually slightly bitter. The egg waffles were cooked nicely though.

Overwhelming menu at ridiculously low prices. Amazing

4.5 / 5 Truely hidden gem tucked in a dead shopping centre I typically reserve my 5 ratings for absolute flawless places. Although this place is not perfect. Its really worth a 4.5+ in every aspect. You are looking at 90's pricing for their items. Service is top notch. Sure you have to wait for your bubble waffle or bubble tea longer than "chatime" or other establishments... but theres something about this place that is just so "homey" you know your dealing with good people... their prices are beyond generous. The female who works there is always polite and lets you customize everything including the crispiness of the bubble waffle. When she didnt make my bubble waffle right, she offered to make me another one and discounted me. This totally was not necessary but very kind of her to do. When i offered to pay for the extra one, she would not take my money. This kind of service was very appreciated. i have come here on several occasions and she has always been generous. Where else can you get bubble waffles this cheap?

Passion Fruit Tea with Popping Boba

[LOCATION] - 3/5 This place is located on Main Street Unionville and Highway 7 in Langham Square (on the 2nd floor above T&T). Outdoor parking spaces are limited during lunch/dinner/weekends, but there are plenty of spots in the underground parking lot. Take a left at the escalator, follow the sign, and walk towards the end of the hall. [SERVICE] - 3/5 Average. Staff was nice, took our order, and informed us our order will be ready in 5 minutes so we didn't have to wait inside this shop. [DÉCOR] - 2/5 VERY small and only a maximum of 3 people can stand comfortably in this place. There were many, many menu signs on the wall and windows. They also had snacks on display. Only 2 chairs were inside this place, but I wouldn't even recommend sitting inside. [QUALITY] - 2/5 Tea was average, but egg waffle was below average because it was hard and probably did not contain quality ingredients or the right mix of ingredients. [ORDER] - 2/5 - Passion Fruit Tea with Popping Boba $2.99 + 1 Free Egg Waffle: tea was refreshing and popping boba tasted good at first, but became too one-dimensional after a couple sips. Egg waffle hardened too quickly, but was still edible. [OVERALL] - 2/5 The price was good for the quantity of food when you order the combo. But if cheap food doesn't taste good, then it's not worth it at the end of the day. Unfortunately, I would not recommend the Egg Waffle at Pop Up House.

There is plenty of parking out front and a small lot just east of the shop. The lobby is quite large and will be interesting to see how the seating situation will be once the province is fully reopened. The menu wall is quite extensive and will take a little while to get a good understanding of what you truly want. The ordering experience needs a little work as the partition barrier blocks 90% of everything being communicated. Good barrier for the transmission of the virus and so too your voice. The echo of the music does not help matters much also. The order took 20 minutes beginning to end with one order ahead of me. Will be interesting to see how they will be once they get in gear and working as a well oiled machine

This review marks my 1,400th one. Crazy!…read more It's fitting that I would do a bubble tea place, as it describes how I tick. Kung Fu Tea has been around for months. Across from it is my local Scotiabank branch. I visit the drive-thru often to withdraw money, and go into the branch now and again. Every time I visit the bank, I flag getting bubble tea someday, but never go in. Why? Parking is limited, this parking lot isn't exactly crafted for safety, and there has been construction happening here for at least a year. The other night, I visited the drive-thru ABM, saw plenty of parking spots on a rainy Monday night, and decided to drop by Kung Fu Tea for the first time. I used to come here when there was a ramen restaurant a couple of doors down. It has since been replaced several times. I couldn't tell you what it is now! I walked into Kung Fu Tea and was greeted by an illuminated logo of a kung fu master and words of wisdom that looked like a kid had put each letter on a fridge door, except that it was a wall and it's permanent. I saw that there was a back-to-school deal on passion fruit green tea. Get a large for $3.99. Sold! There was one couple ahead of me. This place is bright, quaint, cozy, and clean. When it was my time to order, I entered my phone number on the touch pad for Vicinity points. Yay! The woman helping me with my order was cheerful and happy. I placed my order, and got my passion fruit green tea with no honey (it's honey and not sugar) and a bit of ice. I also got coconut jelly. It came to being over $5. I paid using my debit card and patiently waited for my beverage. This place has bubble waffles. I need to get one next time I'm here. I had just had dinner, so I wasn't down for a snack. The couple ahead of me ordered a number of drinks to go. A few minutes after they had left, my order was ready. I loved my drink. The passion fruit is blended finely. You don't drink pulp, but you know that it's real fruit when you see the residue. Its taste was fresh and bright. The coconut jelly had the perfect sweetness and chewiness. There is free wifi at this tea place. I can see myself hanging out here. It's probably the closest bubble tea place by my home, which is both good and scary. I am a fan. I'll be back. (386)

Since I was at a plaza with so many bubble tea joints that I can't keep track of them, I decided to select one that I haven't been to. It would be an easy feat. Moge Tee was a few doors down. Perfect! I walked in. I got the nicest welcome from a man behind the counter. I looked at the menu and the fresh peach oolong tea sounded great. He let me know that there are three types of peach oolong tea: - One has milk - One has cheese foam on top - One is the tea itself I wanted the last one. I went with 30% sugar because I wanted a change. I also went large. I didn't look at the menu long enough to choose toppings. I just wanted a drink. That's okay. Next time! I paid with a credit card. I also gave a tip because he was so great explaining the variants of this tea. With tax and without my tip, this drink came out to $8.42. It better be good! I looked at all the sticky notes on the wall. It reminded me of Cha Miao in Richmond Hill that has a similar setup. I will say that parking is more relaxed here. My drink was ready in no time. I was so happy. He gave me my drink and a straw. I thanked him and happily walked out of the store with my drink and dinner. I carefully placed everything in my car. I then drove home. The peach oolong tea was excellent. 30% sugar was barely noticeable. It was chilled. I loved the peach flavour that tasted like enjoying a ripe peach. I could taste the oolong tea. It was so good. Moge Tee has a membership program. I'll need to look into it. I'm a fan. I will be back. (61)
