Always a 5 star experience. This cozy egg tart place gets busy from time to time so be prepared to line up, but the servers are always friendly and professional. They also make fresh batches of tarts throughout the day. The downside though, is that you will not want to buy tarts from anywhere else after you've tried theirs. They are famous for their egg tarts but their melt-in-your-mouth cheese tart and coconut tarts are just as addictive. I love coconut desserts and this is the best tart I've had!
I was in the area and looking for a local coffee shop one morning. After searching I saw there was a cafe in this strip mall. When I arrived it was more a diner and I really didn't want to be at a sit down place so walked up and down the strip to see what else was here. I came across this egg tart place and was going to skip it, until I realized that there was some wild amount of different egg tarts. Out of curiosity I popped my head in to see what they had. I'm not a huge fan of egg tarts but I'm always up for seeing if there's a certain type or style I'd like. I decided on one of the Malaysian egg tarts. I was packed and off looking for a cup of coffee in no time. Pulling it out of the bag, it looked really nice. It was a bit milky white. I took a bite and there was a strong coconut flavour to it. It was pretty decent. I didn't mind the custard in it. I still don't love the pastry but would try a different one from here in the future. Staff are friendly and they have a decent amount of tables.
Store with seating, specialized in egg tarts, mochi, also have good affordable food options. Egg tart very crispy very jiggly very full with filling range in the 3$ ish mark, buy 6 tax free. Sit in available ordered the crispy milk tart and caramel tart. The original egg tart was very creamy. Would come back. Quick service. ** Note cash & debit only!
Black sesame eggtart doesnt taste good, barely taste the black sesame too. Durian eggtart is a bit better but doesnt taste much of the durian. Not worth it for $4 a piece. Mochi is also very average
A fave place for my ultimate childhood fave dessert. Always looking for a good egg tart and this is one of my go to spots. So fresh. So big. So flaky. So yummy.
If you want to try different flavours of egg tarts, this is the place for you. They have so many different flavours, such as black sesame, ginger milk, durian etc. my favourite was the black sesame egg tart! The egg tarts here are slightly more expensive than other bakeries but I think it's worth it for the variety and flavour
So the average rating for this place is 3.5 stars. That sounds about right, so I will give it 3 stars as well but take one star away for this. Only because it was horrible service. I waited in line for 20 minutes AND I was only third in line. There must have been 5-6 employees in the open kitchen which I can see through the glass window. They had 2 employees going back and forth restocking the display window BUT ONLY one person handling the clients in line. It took her 15 minutes just to make some kind of must have been specialty drink whatever for the first customer in the line. (Whatever) Finally got my 6 pc box. 4 egg tarts and 2 savoury pies. The pies weren't that good and the egg tarts are average especially for a place that calls itself the queen of egg tarts. I won't be back And I don't recommend. Note to the owner or manager, when there is line up of people. Try to have more than one person serving. Please take away from the other 7-8 employees (I'm sure their duties can wait) who can help move the line faster.

This is my go to place for egg tarts! They're a bit pricey but their egg tarts are delicious and very fresh! Their chicken pies are also really good. They have a huge variety of flavors like black sesame, green tea, Malaysian coconut and more! Recently tried their breakfast and it is so worth it for what you're paying. As most of their breakfast combo comes with an egg tart, the main (which are customizable) plus a drink. We tried the satay beef vermicelli and Poached Chicken vermicelli. Which we're both really yummy and portions were generous. Definitely recommend trying! Staff is usual pretty quick, you can also cal ahead and have they package it for you to pick up. There aren't too many seats I would say around 5 tables but usual people come and go pretty quickly.
We wanted a quick and cheap lunch but it wasn't cheap after all lol We ordered a steamed pork rice and hainanese chicken rice, which came with one free hot drink. Also got one long mango and tiramisu mochi. The steamed rice was basically the frozen ones they sell from the freezer. The hainanese chicken was surprisingly decent. The two mochis were kinda disappointing because the dough was awfully hard! It felt like eating plastic instead of the soft and chewy texture. I think the fridge temperature was set way too high so the dough became hard right away. Service was pretty good and the restaurant was quite loud considering the amount of customers coming in and out. The bill was about $30 for 4 things.
I've had many eggtarts in my lifetime, and I can honestly say these were one of my top favorite tarts! The variety in which they sell are great. Looking at the price without actually seeing the eggtarts first may raise eyebrows. The price is definitely justified with the size, and taste as well.
Solid egg tarts. Highly recommend the ginger + crisp milk eggtart, and theExtra Rich Creamy Crispy Eggtart. Both have a "cookie crust" (versus flaky filo dough crust). In addition to egg tarts, they have other hot food items like soup and other "HK Cafe" style foods. Also appreciate that they have herbal teas for sale. All in all, this is a great find across from CF Markville. There are seating areas. Two tables to the right of the restaurant that would seat 4; and around 10 seats and tables on the left as soon as you walk in.
First time trying this bakery, came on a weekday with a friend and it wasn't too busy. My friend recommended to try their egg tarts here which I did and it certainly didn't go wrong. They offer different flavors for egg tarts, I just got the original butter egg tart for $3.09 each, if you buy 6 or more you get a 5% discount and no tax. We got 8 altogether so it came to $23.48. Their tarts are huge compared to other bakeries like Panash and Saint Germain - you certainly get what you pay for. They are absolutely delicious, can be quite filling too. Quality is great, highly recommend dropping by here to try them out. They also have an all day breakfast menu too, prices aren't bad at all. I would love to come back and try their breakfast next time.
Eggtart Queen is my go-to spot for traditional HK style egg tarts in Markham. It is convenient as it's right across Hwy-7 from CF Markville. But the parking lot can fill up fast around lunch. The HK style milk tea is also really good. They have got a lunch menu too, with a solid selection of rice and drink combos that are easy to order when you're hungry or in a rush. Definitely worth checking this spot out! read more

The egg tarts are definitely on the pricier side, but they do offer a huge variety of flavors, including some you don't see as often. We tried the classic Butter Egg Tart and the Durian Egg Tart, and both were delicious. The Butter Egg Tart had a flaky, buttery crust with a perfectly jiggly custard filling. The Durian Egg Tart was especially interesting, with a strong, authentic durian flavor that tasted like the actual fruit rather than an artificial extract. Would I pay these prices for them again? Probably not, especially with other spots offering a similar variety of Asian-inspired egg tart flavors at a lower price. But both we tried were genuinely good! On my quest to find the best egg tarts in Toronto and the GTA. Located in a plaza across from Markville Mall, they also have seating for HK-style meals. The egg tarts are larger than those of other bakeries, hence the higher prices ($3.39 - $3.99 each). I chose the durian; extra rich creamy crispy; black sesame; crispy milk; caramel; and ginger. The flavors seem to change occasionally. Overall, the crusts were just ok, not very flaky imo, and the flavors were quite muted. I would suggest sticking to the original egg tart, but I personally wouldn't try these again. read more

Excellent variety of mochi and egg tarts. If you're into durian, they have it in both mochi and egg tart variations. There are 2 mango mochi sizes, go for the larger "Cheng chau' style which is basically 1/2 sweet mango wrapped in soft chewy mochi. If you're a durian lover, you won't be disappointed with their durian mochi and durian tarts, madness. Their lava cheese tart was oozing creamy cheese flavored filling like Dr pimple popper popping a large pimple to release the pus on your back. Not only does this place sell eggtarts, they also have a wide variety of mochi and food and drinks as well. Everytime I come, I get a few egg tarts, mochis, and a drink. My fave egg tart flavour is the ginger milk which is not something you can get at dimsum restaurants. Their egg tarts are good but their regular flavours are comparable to something you can get at any restaurant or bakery. I really enjoy their mochi though - the mango and taro ones are my favourite! Their milk tea or coffee-milk tea (yuenyeung) are also pretty good! Theres a few tables inside as they also serve food but everytime I've been i havent been able to snag a table read more
Eggtart Queen is located in a strip mall with ample parking. There was a little bit of a line up. We got four regular egg tarts, one caramel and one rich/dense egg tart. The regular egg tarts has more filling than other egg tarts that you would find in a Chinese bakery or cafe. Therefore a bit of a higher price. So glad we randomly came across this bakery after getting my nails done at the salon next door. I love egg tarts so I was intrigued with all the different flavors on their poster. We ended up getting the Portuguese tart, Malaysian coconut crispy tart, and ginger + milk crispy tart. We also wanted to get the papaya + milk crispy tart but they were all gone. They were all delicious, warm, and crispy!! Wish we had this bakery closer to home! read more
I haven't had eggtarts this impressive in a looooog while. We came to pick up a box of four and had to pace ourselves or we would have devoured them way too fast. Each tart will set you back around $3.50 after tax, so it is definitely a treat versus an everyday thing. We chose the flakey durian, flakey green tea, flakey regular and extra rich butter tart. The tarts are large and deep, so you get the perfect ratio of pastry and creamy filling just right with each bite. My favorite was the extra rich butter tart as the custard was so smooth and decadent. Not a lot of seating inside, as it is a popular place for lunch (they do noodles and set meals etc). Take out and just eat in the car instead! read more

It's okay. Nothing spectacular like you'd expect for their store name. With a business name of Eggtart Queen, you obviously expect nothing less than eggtarts and that's what you get! Full displays of different flavoured eggtarts ranging from milk tea, durian, the classics, etc. However, the taste and quality of the eggtarts fell short for me. Ordered a dozen of a variety of eggtarts but unfortunately none of them really stood out to me. A mistake was that we ordered 3 flakey crust eggtarts but was unfortunately given 3 butter crust eggtarts. Not a worry, cause I went back a second time to give it another try and it was just as disappointing with the taste. The eggtarts are quite large, but the egg filling to crust ratio is completely off. You get A LOT of filling and not a lot of crust at all. I've definitely had better eggtarts at some dim sum restaurants along with some bakeries. But don't knock it until you try it! They also sell a variety of flavours in mochi. Mango, durian, taro etc. They even have a palm sized mango mochi that you can get. The mochi is thin and the mango is ripe. Again, nothing special but a nice to get if you like mochi. Prices are on the higher end so be prepared to spend a pretty penny here for some eggtarts and mochi. read more

This place is busy!! Had a short line up maybe 5-10 minutes and when we got to the front, many of the egg tarts in the pantry were sold out already. They were still churning out batches in the back and we were able to get a molten cheese one fresh. Ended up with four in total: molten cheese, butter ginger, crispy coconut, and crispy black sesame. Each egg tart is pretty big but these four came out to around $14. The sesame felt quite runny and the molten cheese was 100% running every where haha. The black sesame had a strong flavour with a hint of coconut. The coconut itself was rather subtle but I quite enjoyed. My favourite was definitely the ginger one! It had a nice kick. All the filling were very smooth and to be honest, I could not really taste a big difference between the crispy and the butter tart difference. Maybe the crispy is slightly less flakey. If I am in the area, I would come back to get one or two. Also, I would love to come back to get their mochi to try! They have two small tables near the front by the window for dining. They also have savoury and rice dishes on their menu too. read more

I just sticked with the regular one since im a basic biatch love the flakiness but my chinese tongue does think its very sweet. Mango mochi on the other hand is TO DIE FOR! they have 2 different ones, i went for the Cheung Chau Mango Mochi which is EXACTLY HOW the ones in Hong Kong taste like! Super skinny skin + a whole mouth of Mango - i perfect love how chewy but thin the skin is~ so its def. Personal preference Overall 4/5! Would come back for the fruit mochi, not the eggtart read more

I thought with such an egotistical name that the egg tarts would be out of this world, but no they are very much in this world. I find the syrup/glaze on top of the egg tarts was way too sweet, but if you use a napkin to dab at it, it's alright. Best egg tarts still go to Patisserie Gateau at FMP. Very eggy, butter crust was stellar. Cheese tart was bomb though. I loved it but my mom was meh and said it's average. I do like that it's cheesy but maybe I just have no standards lol. Service was great. The ladies here at very nice. They're accommodating and will answer all your questions. They serve steamed rice meals and combos here! Ambiance is casual, like Hong Kong 大排檔 casual. You could wear a wife water and denim to eat here. It's a very classic HK look. They have a b/w pic of 獅子山 on the wall which kind of gives an old feel to the place. It's somewhere you'd grab a quick bite. I wouldn't suggest first dates here. Also, it's very hot. Not a place I'd visit if the weather is over 25C humidex. read more

This store is only a year old and they offer a delightful assortment of egg tart flavors. We enjoyed a sampling of 5 flavors for an afternoon snack and they were all warm and tip-top fresh. It's not a big space and they have seven 2-seat tables for a little bit of eating-in capacity. There is also an open window kitchen where you can see products made right on site. We tried a black sesame, a milk crispy, a molten cheese, and two regular crispy egg tarts. They also offer some teas and sweet beverages and other food items like soup and rice dishes and packaged pastries. It's a unique eatery as there are many exotic and delicious egg tart flavors and at reasonable prices. read more
This store was insanely busy when it first started. The egg tarts come in all different styles and there is even a black sesame tart. The crust of the tart could be flakier. It was okay overall. The hot milk tea was decent. They also offer rice dishes which I didn't try and packaged treats like almond cookies. I wish the egg tart was warmer even though they just took it out from the kitchen! read more

There's a lot packed into this shop! The most selection that I've ever seen in egg tarts and mochis! Tried the durian egg tart which had a good amount of durian inside! It was the end of the night and much was out f stock but I'd definitely go back there again. Their breakfasts and lunch menus looked quite reasonable and their savoury tarts are my list next I drop by. read more
3.5 Visited this spot on a busy Friday afternoon to try their famous egg tarts and mochi. Before eating sweets I wanted to get a little food in me, so I actually ordered the thick egg sandwich which wasn't anything special but still good. I had a crispy egg tart and a butter egg tart, as well as a green tea and red bean mochi. The egg tarts are HUGE and yummy, I liked how flaky the crust was. I wish the crispy tart was torched or something (I don't know if that's even possible lol) to make the middle part kind of crispy? I don't know, but it tasted pretty much like a regular egg tart - still good though! The green tea mochi was a bit disappointing, as the mochi was well made but didn't really have much green tea flavour to it. The red bean was kind of overpowering and I think they should put a lot less filling or even take it out completely and add some other type of green tea filling to it. (Side note, I hate how green tea and red bean are perpetually intertwined in asian desserts.) My friend tried the mango mochi and had the same complaint, that the mochi didn't actually have much flavour. TLDR: go for the egg tarts, and you can skip the mochi. read more
Even at 10:15 am on a Sunday, there was a lineup inside the shop to order. There weren't that many egg tarts left, and they kept diminishing as we got closer to ordering at the counter. In the display case, there were egg tarts, milk egg tarts, chicken pies, and coconut tarts. In the display next to this one, there were several varieties of puddings (green tea, red bean, and coffee duo) and jellies (goji longon osmanthus). Across from the order counter, there's a fridge with drinks (pop, water), some sweet soups ('sugar water', such as black sesame, walnut paste, mango sago with coconut milk, coconut sweet glutinous rice, and sago with coconut milk), and a freezer with dishes that you can steam and serve. These dishes include pork spareribs with fermented black beans and garlic; minced pork with preserved vegetables; chicken with dried lily flower and dried black fungus; Chinese marinated pork knuckle; and curry beef brisket. There isn't much seating for dining in, but there is a breakfast menu (available from 8-11 am) with five different options. There are also stewed soups and rice dishes. With steamed rice dishes, the purchase of a HK-style cold or hot drink is half the price. I had no idea egg tarts were $2.80 now. It seems pretty pricey to me. The egg tart was quite sweet to us, and the crust was not really flakey. The coconut tarts were also sweet but full of coconut flavour. read more

Really not that great. I had high expections given a few great reviews and the high price for an egg tart. I understand it's a soft opening but you can't be charging full price for a mediocre product. The good: the tart is BIG. Maybe 10% bigger than most. The bad: the butter shell wasn't baked evenly. One side was toasted, one side was undercooked. It felt and tasted like a crumbly shortbread cookie. The egg filling was bland. Just a bit sweet. Can't crown yourself "Queen" if your product isn't up to par. read more
I agree with others that the price point is steep, but this is your one stop shop for egg tarts. I don't know any other place that provides this many options for deliciousness. If you do, let me know. I came here to treat myself and was satisfied! I came here on a Saturday afternoon. The place is small, and only has about 8 seats available for sit down. I got 6 egg tarts and a mochi which came out to be about $21. Each egg tart is about $3, but there is a small discount if you buy 6. read more
Not bad if you don't mind thicker egg tarts with HK recipes. A bit on the pricey side but it was nice to try. Courteous service from the ladies behind the counter. There are a few limited tables which you can sit at, but it would be awkward because there's basically a line up right there in front of you. Especially on a weekend. read more
