I will be honest and say, that until seeing so many posts on IG about Jersey Mike's, I was not familiar at all with this US brand. I just saw one photo, shared it to hubby and we were there for it! I love the idea of having new sub options, especially at these amazing US Abrams's that bring fresh ingredients, freshly sliced deli meats and the perfect bread! Staff were incredibly patient and kind during our ordering process, answering all the questions while hubby & I ordered for ourselves and our kids. We ordered 4 freshly sliced cold subs: The Super Sub, American Classic, Turkey Breast and Provolone & The Original Italian. Piled high, the bread is like no other at any sub shop chain I have tried. The amount of meat and fresh veggies was so impressive. I absolutely LOVE a provolone cheese on sandwiches, so this was the perfect combo for everyone. We all had it Mike's Way and yes, it was a truly memorable experience! Last but not least, we could not resist and HAD to order from the Fresh Griller Hot Subs and ordered the Jersey Mike's Famous Philly! OMG!! Tender steak, peppers, onions, and white American cheese. This brought me back to Philly! One of the best Philly Steak Cheese sandwiches I have tried on this side of the border. Make it a combo, add on a cookie or brownie and it is the ultimate sub experience. FYI, they also do catering! looking forward to our next visit! I will def take more photos - sorry Yelp fam, we all couldn't wait to dig in!

When this place opened I saw the MASSIVE line inside the store as I was picking up Chipotle next door. Remembering this, I decided to order online. I got myself a portabella cheese steak (#66, giant size) on rosemary parmesan bread. The one thing that I've was surprised about was the inability to customize my sub w/ sauces or other toppings. I confirmed with others whether this is unique to the hot/grilled subs or if you can only get personalized condiments inside the store and learned that the hot subs only come w/ DEFAULT toppings. This inflexibility is probably my one turn-off. The sub itself used really fresh ingredients (the peppers were a nice touch) but I did feel like it was a lil on the drier side because it only had cheese, meat, peppers and onions inside. Ideally, I would've added a couple sauces to my sub but did not get the option to. Really bummed about that. I'm not sure if this is just a Jersey Mike's thing in Canada or if it's like this in USA too. The other thing that was kinda annoying was my text alert told me my order was ready but when I walked into the store I still had to wait 15 min for my order to be complete. The in-store lineup is still huge at this point in time so definitely order online if you don't live too far away.

That's another big bag.

The size of the regular sub halved in size. Not sure if I hit an opening promotion last time or not, but to be fair, today's sub was much more in line with the average Toronto sub size:prlce ratio. Still way better than Subway, although that's admittedly a low bar to hurdle.

Since this spot has now opened in Markham, I just had to give it a try! I remembered loving it when I first tried it in Atlanta, USA, so I stopped by. To confirm. Even in the early evening, the place was packed, and it took about 15 minutes before I could place my order. I went with the #7 "Mike's Way," asking for mayo and pickles on the side, along with a chocolate chip cookie for a sweet finish. The sandwich was tasty but a bit too wet--the bread got soggy pretty quickly, so I'd rate it a 3/5. The chocolate chip cookie also gets a 3/5, as it mostly tasted of chocolate chunks rather than having that balanced, classic cookie flavor. Staff were welcoming and really pay attention to the art of creating a sub! Clean new establishment . Mini regular and jumbo size available. Pricey. But reasonable. They slice the deli meats and cheese upon ordering. That said, I'm definitely willing to give it another shot!

I love Jersey Mike's Subs. It's an American chain. I tend to get my fix whenever I visit the Twin Cities. This franchise has made it over the border for a while. Ontario has been graced with two locations. I'd often go to the Kitchener location whenever I'm in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. The other location is in London. Ontario now has three locations. This one opened up in Markham. It is bittersweet in that this location is where Big Smoke Burger used to be. I liked getting my burger fix here. I had a coupon to use during the long Labour Day weekend. If I bought a regular sub, I'd get a second sub for free. The catch was that you couldn't use this coupon through the app and then pick up your order. Instead, I had to line up to use it. I got here on a Saturday at roughly 6:30 pm. It took me an hour to get my food and leave. I had no problem finding a parking spot. I lined up outside the store. When I reached the counter, I got an energetic, friendly man who took my order for these regular subs: - Roast beef and provolone - Club supreme The latter is my usual order. It was my first time ordering the former. I watched a man slice various deli meats in front of me. I also admired a tray of crispy bacon. What dampened my experience here was another man working the sub assembly line: Him: Just a number 9? Me: (Looking down at two subs in front of both of us) A 9 and a 6. Him: Mike's way? Me: Mike's way minus the onions Him: You don't like onions? I didn't bother answering him. He was a loudmouth jerk. First, he couldn't count. His attention to detail was poor. Second, I don't need to explain why I don't want onions. To judge me on how I like my sub was uncalled for. How about focusing on doing your job? It's how I like my sub to be. Just do it without questioning my choice. Did you really want me to explain that I don't like thick raw onions that burn as I eat them? Did you want me me to share with you that I love French onion soup because I love tons of caramelized onions in it? It's best to keep your criticisms to yourself. Maybe take a remedial grade 1 math class, buddy. It's clear that you need help with basic counting. Oh, you don't like math? It shows. I'm done ranting. Let me continue with my review. I got both subs on rosemary parm bread. It's my favourite. Both sub paper bags had code on them: R6 and R9. Staff put my R6 (roast beef and provolone) sub in the R9 (club supreme) bag, and vice-versa. It wasn't horrible, as both subs were for me. However, if this mix-up went to two folks where one has a food allergy, it would have been a health disaster. I had a helpful man at the checkout. I showed him my coupon and got that scanned. If you have signed up for Jersey Mike's rewards, you enter your phone number on the touchscreen to collect points. I paid with a credit card. I tapped my card and all was great. I left with my food and headed home. The subs were delicious. My usual sub, the club supreme, was yummy and exactly how I like it. The roast beef and provolone sub was excellent, too. The proteins were tender. I loved the veggies and cheese. Mike's way minus the onions was exactly how I liked the sub dressing. The rosemary parm bread sealed the deal. Sadly, Jersey Mike's Subs has separate apps for the States and Canada. I hope that there is only one app that works for both countries down the road, like Crumbl does. Going forward, I'll be ordering my food through the Jersey Mike's app. You pay for order and head to this store to pick it up on a rack. I hope that the loudmouth man gets training dealing with customers. I hope that I never have to interactive with him again. (363)

Got a regular jersey shore's favourite Mike's way and it was pretty good. The ingredients were fresh and it was very filling. I didn't get any sauces on mine but I think it would make the sandwich better. Also bought their chocolate chip cookies and they were massive. They were pretty classic chocolate chip cookies and were soft and chewy. They have an $8 for 3 deal. The service was quick and everyone was friendly too.

#17 Jersey Mike's Famous Philly
Oshynne L.

I've ordered both the Italian and the Philly from Jersey Mike's, as well as the chocolate chip cookie twice. Everyone who works at this location really seems like they love their job; they're very friendly and personable while also demonstrating efficiency in getting people their food. The kitchen seems to keep moving while the line of people waiting continues to grow. There's plenty of seating available, though many people take their food to go. The sandwiches are quite large if you opt for the full size, but the hot sandwich keeps quite well if you don't mind eating it cold later. The cold sandwich's bread does get a little soft at the edges (very slightly) from the "juice," which is red wine vinegar and olive oil, but all in all keeps pretty well too. I have returned and I likely will return to dine again in the future.

4 STARS Jersey Mike's has finally opened in Markham! They have a promo going on right now, when you buy a regular size sub, get your second sub free! (Only valid from August 28-Sept 1, 2024) The line up was pretty long since today was its grand opening. I got the club sub, and mr. Tran got the club supreme, on rosemary parm bread. Felt like the rosemary parm bread overpowered the flavours of the meats and fresh ingredients. Will need to try it on plain white bread next time. Love that they have "the juice" (red wine vinegar), it does help elevate the sandwich to another level. Overall, not too bad for a sub chain in Markham!

Before coming here my sub experience was limited to mostly fast food subs which were often mediocre. It was only after going to Jersey Mike's that I've been convinced that not all subs are equal! Everything at Jersey Mike's is super fresh, from their veggies, cheese, and meats. The latter two which they cut right in front of you! The portions are super large sized so even a regular sized sub (6 inches) can be enough to fill someone up. Everything is just super high quality and very well done, super tasty as well. The only downside is the long lines! A 6 inch sub is usually $12-13. I've tried the original Italian, the club sub, and the club supreme and have loved all of them! Would recommend any of them. Big fan of their subs!!!

I tried the club supreme giant size and it was huge. The taste is okay but I do like how they make it fresh infront of you as you can see everything they put in the sandwich. They were also pretty quick with making my sandwich and there was also no wait when I went. They have a few seats inside as well for those who want to eat in.

Philly cheesesteak sub

went there today to get a quick dinner and order my favourite sub which is the Phillycheesesteak sub. Service was great! Sandwich was always good, they always give you a freshly slice beef. They have a great amount of space if you want to eat there. Place was always clean and the people were very nice and friendly.

It's been around that long because the food and the prices are that good. I've stopped by here multiple times and always get the Old Fashioned Center Street Special on rye, medium (not lean) with extra meat. I've never been disappointed with this deli, the food is always delicious and tasty, the cuts of meat are fantastic, thick and juicy, and the fries are golden and crisp. It's a good deal for a good portion of food. The service is always friendly, with servers who are attentive, chatty and friendly. My only comment would be that because this Deli has been around for so long (as have I), I remember when I was little and the paint was fresh. But now it's been worn down and it's noticeable from the doorways to the chairs and tables. This staple of Thornhill is still delivering great food, but the restaurant itself needs some love and upkeep. A fresh coat of paint will go a long way. Even the washrooms (while very clean) have a smell to them. I believe it's time to give Centre Street Deli some love and freshen it up a bit for the younger generation.

For some of the chocolates, crakers, etc. that I looked at it was difficult to discern what it was or tasted like. Many of the junk foods had pictures, but as they deal largely with imported European foods, the packages don't always have English on them - they often do, but not always. I settled on some crackers that said graham on them, but afterwards when I opened them up they didn't look or taste anything like our traditional western graham crackers. They didn't taste bad, but I include this point to signify the usefulness of English on the packages. I also purchased 200g of cheese. I couldn't read the languague on any of the cheeses so I asked a lady to pair a good cheese with my crackers... yes, I asked for a good cheese pairing with my graham crackers. I got some sheepish looks but given my question I think it was fair. I got 200g of a mild cheese and it tasted pretty good. I didn't recognize any cuts of meats that were chicken or turkey and so I didn't explore any of those offerings. It seemed like this was the busiest part of the store. If you don't speak the language many of the ladies use (I didn't recognize it) they do speak English and are helpful. I left with my cheese, graham crackers, some Sesame Snaps candy and the cost was a little over $8. Not bad considering 2 of the 3 items bought were imported.
