Amazing subs! Better than subway and Mr Sub. Don't waste your time going to other sub restaurants. Firehouse does it right with their subs and great service. If you want better value, download their app and get better deals. I highly recommend the engineer sub or even the hook and ladder. If you are very hungry, get the large sub as it's very filling. read more

Meatball sub always hits. Philly cheesesteak was okay, needed to add hot peppers but always get the meatball. Plus they give first responders free drinks so it's great. The place is always clean and the staff are great at always greeting you! read more

One of our fave sub spots, we make the drive out from Scarborough to Ajax just for this! They heat the sandwiches in a steamer which may sound weird, but it makes the bread super soft and warm. It's a unique alternative to toasting. 1) the engineer is a turkey sandwich with sautéed mushrooms, onions, lettuce, mayo and deli mustard. 2) the Italian comes with all your fave Italian meats. All sandwiches come with a dill pickle on the aide and they are STUFFED with meat! Off to the side of the counter is a hot sauce bar with ~30 sauces you can spice your sub up with. The staff is super friendly, they bring the subs to your table. Of note - they always ask if you'd like to round your $ amount up to donate to local fire services, and they do a fair bit of community charity work which is nice to see. We are regulars!! read more

I tried the Firehouse Subs in Taunton Location...So far we've tried 6x subs and I'd say they were all enjoyable and filling...The price tag is definitely higher than a Subway/Mr. Sub or Quiznos back in the day....Here were the subs we've tried on 3x separate visits: Club on a Sub- Smoked turkey breast, honey ham, thick-cut bacon, and melted Monterey Jack, with mayo, deli mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a kosher dill pickle on the side. - $15+ for Larger size. Opted out of dill pickle. - The meats look very loaded with their pre-set toppings on each subs it seems. Overall this one was filling and enjoyable. I see they run their meats, cheese and such into their machine that had hot water and such for a certain time to keep the meats moist and warm... Firehouse Meatball w/Pepporoni on Top- $15+ for larger size. Italian meatballs, melted provolone, zesty marinara, and Italian seasonings. - The meatballs were definitely bigger than a subway or Mr. Sub like mentioned...The quality taste is there...Not the type of meatballs sub you consumed and end up in the washroom shortly after...lol Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket- $16+ for larger size. Cut from choice cut beef brisket slow-smoked for hours, cheddar, mayo, Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ Sauce. - I was informed this was their best seller...The brisket is smoked for 12 hours or longer i was told...My wife and I both agreed this is a tasty sandwich...This was also their priciest sub...You don't really get the smoke taste to it, but its definitely a good try sub... New York Steamer-$15+ for larger size. Corned beef brisket, pastrami, melted provolone, deli mustard, mayo, and Italian dressing. - Not my personal favourite b/c i'm not a fac of corn beef...But for me this was my least favourite...My wife enjoyed this one. Firehouse Hero- $15+ for larger size. Cut from Choice roast beef, smoked turkey breast, honey ham, and melted provolone, served Fully Involved. Fully Involved - Loaded complete with mayo, deli mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a kosher dill pickle on the side. - This i'd say is probably our 2nd favourite sub out of the 6x...Its loaded with meats like mentioned and the blend of flavours is there. Turkey Bacon Ranch- $15+ for larger size. Smoked turkey breast, thick-cut bacon, cheddar cheese topped with peppercorn ranch, mayo, lettuce, tomato, and onion. - I didn't notice the 'thick-cut' bacon to be honest...But this I'd say is our 3rd favourite sub... Overall this place delivers in terms of quality deli meats that aren't dry...The toppings are all pre-set so you don't have to second guess but you can always add some toppings if you wish...I hear adding mushrooms is extra costs... The price tag is definitely higher than all the other subs locations but if you enjoy quality, then this price tag makes sense...We definitely never had any stomach issues after consuming these subs and always felt full for a while. 4/5 read more

Tried them for the first time and loved their Pastrami sub. I've been turned off from subs after how dismal they are from Mr. Sub and Subway so it's refreshing to have a place that can serve a good hot tasty sub. I'll definitely be back and would recommend to others. read more

A convenient location in the Ajax Costco plaza to grab a quick bite. Their sub is decent. More like Quiznos with a little extra. I like the selection of hot sauces (20+ varieties) and the mock firehouse decor is cute. With an average sub costing over $12 - $15, it's not the most economical option. read more

wow, I didn't think a sub place could do so poorly. I've been wanting to try firehouse for awhile and regret it. I ordered a custom sandwich with chicken and bacon and provolone. My sister ordered one of their feature sandwiches. Mine tasted a little off but I couldn't figure out what it was, I didn't enjoy it at all. There was zero flavour. The chicken was a bit pink or seemed pink and the bread was soggy. My sisters tasted better but I'm sad to say that it is not worth it. About an hour after we finished we both started to feel uncomfortable and nauseous, and the constant need for the bathroom. I've taken 2 gravols and still feel very very queasy. This is the first time I've ever been to this sub shop. I do love a submarine from time to time, but this happens to be the worst one i've ever had. Everything was just sort of thrown onto the submarine bun. Cheese was not dispersed throughout the whole thing. Way too much sauce was put on, which made the bread very soggy by the time I got at home. Have called to reach the manager, but never seems to be there. Mister submarine is right across the street and Subway is right down the street. I would choose them in the future. And it was not the cheapest submarine out there. I first went to Firehouse Subs in the way to San Diego. I was very happy to see that Firehouse Subs was in Canada! They are the best subs that are available. My wife and I split a sandwich and were more than full. We were however more than disappointed that 2/3 people working here did not seem to think that wearing their mask over their noses was necessary. Delicious and fully loaded subs! I ordered the Turkey Bacon Ranch and my partner ordered the Steak & Cheese. We wanted to try each other's subs so we split them and I got to try half of each. Let me tell you - I couldn't choose a favourite. The Turkey Bacon Ranch was piled high with delicious turkey. It's true that this is a more expensive sub shop than others, but other sub shops don't give you near as much meat so the cost here is justified. The Steak & Cheese was tender and included green peppers and sautéed white onion. SO GOOD. I can't speak highly enough about the quality of meat at Firehouse. The ingredients they use are the freshest and the flavours are superb. Staff were friendly, service was quick and the restaurant was clean. This was my first visit and definitely will not be my last. I finally had my first Firehouse sub. As far as locations go, they have always been just out of reach until i spotted them on Skip the dishes. Yeah baby, lets try this out. One meatball sub......and lets top that off with a brownie cuz nothing says i love delivery like a brownie, right. I must admit that was a pretty good sub, they sure dont spare the cheese, thats for sure. As for the chocolate delight that followed, ya baby that made my day. So whats next, on the menu? Seriously love this place. Usually my go to was Belly Busters back in Toronto. But this place is the icing ontop of an award winning cake. Their meats are so fresh and sliced to perfection. My favourite is their honey ham. It's sweet and moist. Most of their subs are cooked with melted cheese on a panini press but also come as cold cut if you want. I always get the extreme turkey bacon cause it has honey ham on it also. The toppings are delicious also, my favourite their pickles. Especially crunchy and fresh. The subs come in a cute box and are GIGANTIC !!! The price point is on the high side, although it is well worth the money for the quality you get. read more

Decided to stop by for lunch with my wife. Placed our order and the total was $33 For 2 subs a pop and chips. Instantly I thought I made a mistake. But when I ate the sub I realized the quality was on point. Same meal at subway would have been $25. This is a premium place. The size and taste was amazing. Generous portions. Wow. First visit I had the beef brisket sub and my most recent visit I had the Hook n Ladder sub. Both were served piping hot, with so much meat and fresh toppings. Good Evening, The other day my daughter ordered a Turkey Bacon sub for herself and a Hook and Ladder Salad for myself on the App and had it delivered. It was delicious. Two day later, today June, 29th, 2018 I was driving by Firehouse and decided to stop in and get the same but my daughter wanted a half sub instead. I took nearly 10 minutes just to place the order and was told they don't do half subs but they have a half and half which is half a sub and either a salad or a soup, so I ordered the sub with the soup, and I got the H & L Salad for myself with the Balsamic dressing. When I got it home, we sat down to eat and was soooo disappointed. The sub was so small that my 2 yr old granddaughter could of eaten it. I ordered it with no mayo, no cheese and it came with mayo on it. The Butternut Squash soup was very good. My Salad was nothing like the salad I got the other day, it was made with shaved lettuce not the mixed leafy lettuce I received the other day. It also came with the wrong salad dressing. I don't mind spending $25.00 on lunch but I do expect it to be what I ordered. Going forward I don't think I will be making another visit to Firehouse Subs. Thank you Lynne Eibich read more

Excellent service from friendly staff who always have a smile on their face. Been in store and ordered through skip the dishes many times and I have never had an issue. The taste and portion is superior to any Subway or Mr.sub ever! And you get a yummy pickle. Their brownies are to die for and always soft. I've been to Firehouse Subs twice now since it has opened and have thoroughly enjoyed the subs. They are a bit more pricey than other establishments, but you can taste the quality! Not only that, but they carry a wide variety of subs you will not find at other places. The staff is well trained and very friendly, as well the ambience is nice (love the decor - fire house theme).
