My friends and I stopped by for some dinner after a saturday badminton session. We tried a bunch of large subs: firehouse captain club sub, smokehouse beef & cheddar brisket, brisket hat trick. I was blown away by the quality of the subs. WOW. Every sub was PACKED to the brim w/ goodies. No skimping out on ingredients. Tons of meat, tons of veggies, tons of sauce. For the hot subs, the meat was sooooo soft and easy to swallow. I had a bite of my friends' subs and they were all super delicious. The chicken in the captains club was so juicy. The beef in the smokehouse sub was melt in the mouth. The bread on all subs was toasted. They also have one of those nice machines w/ tons of different soda options to choose from (peach mello yellow zero SUPER UNDERRATED). Shoutout to Donte who helped me with my order as a first-timer to this store! Love that I was able to stack a bunch of extra add-ons for no additional charge. Also loved that every sub came w/ a dill pickle on the side (the pickles were delicious too). I was tempted to upgrade my bun to garlic bread but that'll be for another visit. In terms of price, it is premiumly priced at around $20-25 per sub which is expensive tbh. Does the quality justify that price tag? I would actually have to say yea it does! SOOOOO much meat packed into every sub. AND the employees don't treat you like dirt (*cough cough* Jersey Mike's, Subway and Mr. Sub I'm looking at you guys). Finally tried a sub from a Firehouse Subs, and damn, I really wish I had tried out their food sooner :( I ordered their [LARGE PEPPERONI MEATBALL SUB] $15.99 which consists of italian meatballs, marinara, extra provolone, crispy pepperoni, and Italian seasoning on a toasted garlic bread roll! You can also choose from a bunch of additional toppings to add onto it for free such as what I added: shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes, sliced onions, cucumbers, caramelized onions, chopped pickles, and black olives :D The meatballs are absolutely delicious, and very filling, honestly. I swear half a sandwich is already a meal if you ask meeee. I also like that it comes with a pickle speae as well since I'm a huge fan of pickles. I'm usually not much of a sandwich/sub fan but I'm glad that I discovered Firehouse Subs. The restaurant is founded real firemen in the States and now they are bringing their sandwiches to Canada. I ordered the Hero Sub that was on promotion and the Italian Sub. I got both of the subs "fully involved" which came with lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. The sandwiches were massive as well and the large size was definitely enough for dinner for me. I was so impressed with how the sandwiches taste after the first bite. Went there for the first time. For my bro, and let me tell you, it's a boys hangout for sure. When we arrived four buddies were leaving to eat outside. And other two guys came by, in front of us. I could see why after we got the order, which was brisket and cheese footlong. The bread is soft and light not dense and stodgy, which what I feared. It was filled with lots of luciously soft meat, and finished with some flavourful old cheddar. And we picked up a cherry-lime drink which was so fab!! The next day, my brother wanted to go again!! I am glad that this has opened in Markham. Absolutely delicious. Manager (I think she was the manager) and staff are so friendly and knowledgeable about their products. There are a lot of staff members working which helps with their speed. Everything tasted fresh and was hard to make a choice as everything looked good. They do have things around supporting fire fighters which is amazing like rounding off the bill or selling the buckets from pickles. Ended up getting the 16hr slow smoked beef brisket and cheddar. This was recommended. I got a large (12") with a broccoli cream soup. The sandwich comes with a pickle on the side. The sauce was sweet but lots of flavour. The portion of meat and cheddar is pretty generous and tastes work very well together. My wife ordered the Italian sub regular (8") this was very good. Healthy portion of meat, and you can see them slicing it on the spot so you know it's fresh. There are many items to choose from on the menu. Would love to try things like the meat ball sub. I am not the type who must go to a grand opening. Opening weekend for a major movie? I'd rather wait three weeks before going. On Facebook, I noticed that Firehouse Subs was finally coming to Markham. Every time I'd hit Jersey Mike's Subs in Kitchener, I would see Firehouse Subs across the street and knew that I needed to go there someday. That day was today, but closer to home. Last week, I signed up for a free sub on its soft opening day. The catch was that you had to be on Facebook and you needed to reserve your spot. How organized! My event slot was at 1:20 pm. I got there just before that time. There was a welcome table just outside the main doors. I said my name and I was good. The nice person at this table said that donations were welcome, which were going to the local firefighter departments. You donate when you place your order. Cool! Naturally, it was a madhouse inside. There were at least a dozen staff making sandwiches and guiding both staff and customers. You get a cheer when you first walk in, welcoming you to Firehouse Subs. Okay, that made me alert for a good ten seconds. I went to the back and asked how ordering worked. All subs are steaming hot. However, if you like cold subs, this place can accommodate your request. I liked how he asked me what kinds of meat I like. I like 'em all, which is not helpful! He recommended either the Hook & Ladder, or Smokehouse Beef and Cheddar Brisket. I went with the latter. You can customize it how you like. I went with how it's made. You get a pickle on the side. I told him to hold it. If you are going today, be prepared to wait 25 to 30 minutes for your order. The woman behind me was incredibly impatient, asking one of the staff members how long she would need to wait and looking all nervous. She had ordered after I did and got her order first. I wasn't steaming up. The meats and cheese were doing that for me... haha! Seriously, I actually enjoyed chatting with customers and the nice female employee while I was waiting for my food. I chatted with a customer who was ahead of me. She was looking at potato chip bags and I asked if I should move, as my standing in front of them wasn't helping her. She laughed. I learned that another Firehouse Subs will be opening in Stouffville, where she lives. She was great as we waited for our meals. I was looking at all the steamer vessels behind the counter and asked the Firehouse Subs woman behind me how they work. Meats and cheese are steamed together, depending on your order. The water gets drained before your sub is made. Cool! She also explained that the bread is toasted, too. The woman preparing my sub almost instinctually knew that she was working on my order. She looked up and said my name as she was looking at me. She thanked me for being so patient, as she handed me my order in a paper bag. I thanked her back and wished her a great day. Staff here were working exceptionally hard when I was there. They all had gloves on and were following food-handling practices without any deviation. There was also a main food manager who was helping everyone with food preparation. There were roughly six tables. As you can imagine with today's soft opening, there weren't any tables available. Instead, I headed to my car to eat. My sub was delicious! If you want a steaming hot sub, Firehouse Subs is where it's at. My beef brisket and cheddar sub was perfect. The brisket was tender. You practically don't need to chew. The bread was toasted, chewy, and perfect. I loved the cheese, mayo, and barbeque sauce. I loved my sub and was sad when I ate it all up! My sub was just under $10 with tax if I had to pay for it. It does run on the higher side price-wise. However, it's worth it for the quality and deliciousness of a decent sub. Yum! They have a lot of different options that you can't find at Subway or Mr.Sub which I like a lot. Their prices are a bit more expensive than other sub places, but I think it's worth it, considering how fresh and tasty the ingredients are. I ordered a medium Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket sub. You get to add your own toppings as well (for free). I like how they have sautéed fried onions as an option. A side of pickle comes with your order as well. Finally trying Firehouse Subs! I've heard good things, and they weren't wrong. The subs are pricey, but they are worth the price for the amount of meat and toppings you get, plus that nice bun. I got the Italian and the Steak & Cheese, both Medium and it came to $22 with the round up donation (which I like!). The medium sub was filling, and was very tasty. It had a nice pile of meat on it and it wasn't "gross" or too much like sometimes meaty sandwiches can be. I got them as dressed on the menu, and I think that was the way to go for me, at least. I never took the time to write a review about this place so here it is : ) The restaurant is very clean and you'll always find a spot to sit, they are very organized from how they stack their chips to the sauce bottles. This restaurant has 5 star reviews all around that's one good reason for you to come and eat here 99% have the same opinion. I come here all the time, I am obsessed with their -New York Steamer- the staff are always friendly on every visit I had and the food is always DELICIOUS, I did not have one bad experience or a sub that wasnt fresh. Love this place, my son and I came here a few times and we enjoyed it. We usually order a medium sandwich to share, the staff always very nice and friendly, they give him a fireman hat even we didn't buy the kids meal. This week we went again and ordered kids meal, the size is good for kids between 3-5 year old, my older one (5) can finish it but then he said he is hungry after 1 hr, so not recommend the kids meal. The soft and warm bread is packed with generous amounts of whatever meats and toppings you're into. Subs will also come with a pickle spear on the side of you wish as well. Hot sauces - At the end of the counter you will find a wide assortment of hot sauces labelled from 1 to 10 on a hotness scale. I'm sure you can find something to suit your tastebuds. Firehouse subs is definitely a lot better than subway but quality always comes at a price. Heard only good things about this new and emerging chain and it's a welcome addition to Markham. The interior is very neat and has a firehall feel to it with the bricks and firefighter jackets and all. The menu is somewhat pricey, but I went with a medium sub which was still enough. I believe it's around 8 inches. It's still somewhat reasonably priced. There's still a lot of ingredients you can add-on free of charge although if you're looking for as many greens as subway, I didn't get that on this one. I went with the smoked cheddar beef brisket and really enjoyed it. Very tender meat and was done excellently with melted cheese. They had a bunch of hot sauces and regular sauces with a sticker numbering system for spiciness. They were excellent. Attended their Grand Opening yesterday and was able to sample their delicious sandwich. Apparently this was a chain of Sandwich subs that was originally founded by Firefighters years ago (I was hiding in my hole all these years I had no clue) and they've opened their 21st store here in North America (Markham) and glad we are that they did. There were a few errors with the service which was understandable, I would not take this against them now considering that they just opened. I had ordered the Firehouse "Hero" Sub and added Bacon and Sweet BBQ sauce on wheat bun and my gosh did it hit the right Spot and hit it good. I can't stop thinking about it all this time. The bread which by the way was WHEAT tasted so well with the sandwich, was warmed and toasted to perfection. Option for white was also available and you can tell they were fresh. They did not skimp on the meat here for filling, mine was overflowing with smoked turkey breast, Virginia honey ham and choice cut roast beef all that topped off with just the right amount of veggies, melted provolone cheese and sealed off with the Sweet BBQ sauce - just amazing! My buds are just elated at the very memory of my sandwich. They weren't kidding when they said Fully Involved on the menu, that sandwich had me Fully Committed ! (to finishing my plate that is ;)). decide to give this place a try after reading some of the review, ordered half/half steak and cheese with soup came on a sunday around 4:45pm, this place is clean, wait time is acceptable (around 10mins wait for my order) for the time i visited this place i agree with most of the reviews here that it runs on the pricer side, but this is better than your regular subway. the half sub i got was SO TINY! smaller than my hand / 6" you get at subway. it was the cheese/broccoli soup + crackers that filled me up. I regret getting the half/half, because i thought the sub is huge after reading a review.. i will def get the full sub next time. i want the sub to fill me up, not the soup. my sub was delicious and still warm when i got home. everything went well together, the bread was toasted nicely, crunchy on the outside and really soft on the inside! all the subs are pre-set with ingredients/toppings, however, you CAN substitute and customize the way you like. "Hero" and "Engineer" sandwiches are specialty sandwiches, you can also order your own/build your own sandwiches as well. I like how it comes with a pickle on the side. The staff are usually very friendly welcoming all customers that walk in. If you like your sandwiches spicy, there is a section of hot sauces that you can seek out to add to your sandwiches.
