I'm really happy to see there's way more locations now compared to before and how easy it is to buy the subs now. Hero Sub: Great assortment of meats. Amazing ratio - which is usually really rare, especially in the other competing sub places. The bread is soft and fluffy, which adds a great texture to the bite. Steak and cheese sub: Generous amount of steak! Similar comments with the other sub. Love the bread. All went well together. The subs are truly filling! Overall, I really love the sandwiches here - it's definitely on the pricier side, though, but well worth the value you get compared to competitors. I've been curious about Firehouse Subs for ages now, so when the opportunity arose to finally check out their offerings, I jumped at the chance. I was initially a little overwhelmed by the various choices, but there seemed to be some indication that the Hook & Ladder ("Smoked turkey breast, honey ham, and melted Monterey Jack, served with lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, and deli mustard with a dill pickle spear served on the side") seemed to be a signature item. I went ahead and ordered a medium and asked for whole wheat bread. The sandwich was ready within minutes and I took it out to my car to take home. That was my plan, anyway. I figured I'd take a peek and maybe have a little nibble before going on my way. But one bite told me I was eating a seriously above-average concoction and I wound up scarfing the whole thing down right then and there. The subs are made with premium meats and cheeses, however portion size was small. The service was friendly and professional and there's plenty of seating. Came here a few times because it was so delicious every single time! If you like Subway, but hate their sweet breaded subs, then this place does it right! But it's not even fair to compare this place to Subway because thee guys use higher quality ingredients and don't cheap out on it. They also have that fancy soda machine with the touchscreen. Honestly, not sure how many times I've come, but loved it each time and I tried different subs each time too! We've ordered from FireHouse subs a few times on UberEats and have consistently enjoyed their sandwiches. My go-to order is the veggie sub, add cheese and mushrooms, no onions with extra pickles on the side. I love their pickles as they are not too salty or sour and not too crisp. As a self-described pickle aficionado, I feel these spears are top notch. Hubby likes their Hook and Ladder sub best. I've also tried their tomato basil soup, which was very tasty. I've found the subs arrived as ordered, and the ingredients taste fresh. Was pleased to learn recently that Firehouse has their own foundation in Canada which supports first responders (my step-dad is a Toronto firefighter so this makes me very happy). This place has completely changed my opinion on sub sandwiches. I used to love subway, but over the years the quality has been declining and it just wasn't as good as it used to. Firehouse recently opened a new store near work and I have been 3 times already. So far, of the three subs I've had, every single one of them was fantastic. Not good, but fantastic. I don't know how else to describe the sandwiches so I'll leave it at that. As soon as you come in to this location, you are greeted by a chorus of "welcome to firehouse". I had the pleasure of watching a lot of people come in and get surprised by their greeting. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining at all, just surprised that a sub place will go through the effort of adding this routine. Food is served a little bit longer than usual, but it's definitely worth the wait. Takeout orders are placed in sturdy sub sandwich box which makes it convenient for taking orders home. If you eat in, you are given a plastic number before taking a seat. As soon as your sandwich is ready, they even deliver it directly to your table. Again another nice touch I was not expecting. Restaurant was clean, including the washroom, but this location is still new so let's see later on. Based on my experience so far, this franchise location is well on its way. I've been to other locations of Firehouse Subs in the past (I think this location would be my second or third visit) and in past I gotta admit I was unsure. Good but..... I dunno. This new location just popped up north of Sherway Gardens Mall in a new development next to Walmart and I was in the plaza doing some holiday returns and decided to pop in for a quick bite. What I like about each Firehouse Subs is the custom mural they do to give a little hat-tip to the local area. The mural in this location shows the Firehouse Subs Firetruck with ladder extended pulling up to Sherway Gardens Mall and people gathering around rejoicing. Nice. The other thing I like about this brand is that the chain was started by Firefighters and at the point of purchase they ask if you'd like to round your purchase up to the next whole dollar to support firefighters and first responders. Why wouldn't you? It's a good cause for everyday heros and if you're like me and enjoy nice even numbers $16 looks way better than $15.43 (ugh) when I look at my bank statement. And honestly,for the 1-2 times I got to a place like this in a year, that 0.57 is better in their hands than my own. Kudos! Ok, so you made it this far, how is the food? I've had a few different options here in past BUT this time I wanted to try something really signature and according to the in store POS material and the staff that's their meatball sub. You can get it 3 ways, classic, spicy or pepperoni (lol - wut?!?!... my Italian culture just died a little inside). I opted for the classic meatball (so I could truly assess their quality) on white bread made standard with the pickle on the side. I was given a number, went over to the Coca-Cola freestyle machine and whipped up a zero calorie beverage concoction and waited for my hoagie at a table. The sandwich came within a few minutes and it was visually the best looking meatball sandwich I've seen. Multiple medium sized meatballs, covered in sauce with melted provolone cheese filling but not overflowing the bread bun boat. And in terms of taste (I'm salivating just as I relive the experience), a surprisingly fresh tasting meatball (I'm sure they're not but heck they covered it up well), a really delicious tasting tomato marinara sauce and what appeared to be REAL provolone cheese (not just that fake AMERICAN cheese you get at Subway (is it Mozzarela or not FFS). I usually get the half and half and pair it with a tomato soup. Gosh the bread at firehouse subs are just so fresh and crisp and best part it doesn't smell like yeast like at subway locations. Would love to see more locations and to get rid of subways. My only issue with firehouse subs is their use of pressured checkout charity. This practice needs to stop. My boyfriend has always wanted to try this place so last week we ordered from here and were blown away by how amazing the subs were! The past week we have ordered from here 4 times and have tried almost every one of their specialty subs and each time we are impressed. Was running errands around Sherway / Ikea this weekend and decided to try out Firehouse Subs rather than the usual food court fare all around us. I am so glad that we did ! By far the best sub available in the GTA. Everything is fresh, the bread is out of this world (no chemical after taste or fake cheese products here - I'm looking at you subway). The Philly steak and cheese was a bit dry but they did load the sandwich with a lot of meat so that's a good thing. I was hoping for it to taste like a USA Hoagie sandwich but it didn't. ah well I guess I have to drive to Niagara falls NY for that Hoagie feeling. I find it a lil bit over price compare to your other SUB resto chains - I would compare this to a SanFranciso/California restaurants where you pay a lot for a sandwich and pay additionals for premium toppings which I am not a fan of. Maybe if I am in the area again I would go back for a sub - but base on the location there's a lot of other options to check out as well before I go there. Poor customer service. Ordered 3 sandwiches using the app selecting the Tualatin store. Realized 15 minutes later that the order was sent to the Medford store. Called to cancel but they couldn't find the order. Called again later thinking they had not received the order but was told the only way we could cancel the order and get our refund was if we came into the store. Drove to the Tualatin store 15 minutes before pick up time hoping they could help. Was told we needed to pay them with no guarantee of getting a refund on the first order. I tried Firehouse Subs for the first time one week ago. Since then I've been back 3 times. I'm hooked! Everything is very fresh and tasty. My husband and I have been slowly trying everything on their menu. We've had the Club on a Sub, Firehouse Meatball, and the Firehouse Hero. All very good! The best so far is the meatball sub. It definitely is the best meatball sub I've had anywhere so far! I like how they cut the sub like a hotdog bun so nothing gets smushed and the cheese sits on top beautifully melted. Everything else I believe is warmed up in steam trays which makes for very juicy meat! Their deli meats are delicious, especially the honey ham! The chili is warm and hearty with a good little kick of heat. Omg the side pickle. Yes! If you want to spice up your food, there's a whole area of different hot sauces available with varying spice levels labeled as well. Their "Captain Sorensen's Datil Pepper Hot Sauce" is sweet, with a little kick. They sell it too. I'd buy it! As for the Coca-Cola Freestyle machine. That cherry limeade is... THE BEST. Get it in sparkling. I feel like I keep coming back just to drink that. It's on the sweet side, but I love it. Also awesome that they have fresh lime wedges to pep up your drinks! Although they are a little pricier, it's worth it. A large sub combo with a chili, comes to around $20. My husband and I share that between the both of us and it's more than filling. I am a huge fan of firehouse subs. I always have a good experience at firehouse subs, until my last visit. My wife and I were at this location and a patron was refusing to wear her mask. My wife asked one of the patrons in the establishment to put her mask on, she refused. Also when one of the workers also asked her, she played it off that she couldn't understand. It's unfortunate that during these times the shift manager didn't enforce the mask policy and put everyone at risk. We asked for a refund and left. Why their mask policy wasn't enforced is beyond my understand especially when numbers have risen. This was a horrible experience. read more

They put so much meat on the sandwich and the ingredients are great quality and fresh. They also add a pickle on the side - nice touch.
