Went here with a couple of friends recently for dinner on New Years Eve. Since I had another event to attend later that night, I opted for something that's not crazy heavy. I had the pork souvlaki on a bun. Adding a drink after, it was really good for a $20 dinner. The portions are large, though the bun is less filling than the souvlaki dinner options, which are way more filling. If this was a full dinner meal I'd probably go with the dinner, Service here is over the counter. I'm pretty satisfied with what I had, and would recommend this place for those who like cheap, fill you up food. read more

Fat Fork is hands down my favorite Greek restaurant in the area. The portion sizes are amazing and I almost always have enough to eat again the next day. I have been here over 20 times and the food is usually very consistent. I normally order the souvlaki dinner, but when I am not in the mood for that, the Greek salad is always a solid choice. I came yesterday and the meat was a bit undercooked, which is not something I have experienced before. Given how many great meals I have had here, I am sure it was just a one off. We walked up to the restaurant while some dude was storming out complaining about how long the queue was. We almost decided not to go in because of it, but then thought, well, we're already here so we might as well give it a try. So we went in and sure enough the line was kind of long. It did the thing that lines do when they're too long, they bend and go around things they were never intended to. But we queued up anyway and it moved pretty quick. In fact if you're going for the first time you're going to appreciate the extra time a long line gives you to look at the menu and decide what you want. Anyway, the wait was worth it because the plates are very big and all of it was delicious. We tried the special chicken and special pork plates. Check out my pictures. Love the logo! The place has tons of seating area! One has to order first and then wait for the food. The washroom is clean. Omg!! Portion is huge for the price. I got the chicken souvlaki meal and every bite was amazing!! The rice was cooked right, the potatoes were delicious, the salad was nice, but I would ask for salad dressing on the side next time. The chicken pieces were hot and tender. It went well with their yummy tzatziki sauce. However at the end of the meal, the chicken did get dry cause it got cold. The piece of bread didn't look too good but oh my - it was deceiving!! It was chewy and soft and I was like - this is actually good!!! Great first impression. Will go back definitely!! I would call this an upscale counter fast serve restaurant. It is a huge step above any of the other Greek chains with large portions. I had a grilled chicken Greek salad that was a fantastic size. This place replaced the infamous Muddy Duck restaurants and it's now a bright open Greek/Burger place. Think of a cleaner Fire Pit with lots more room. Food (4.5/5) - ratings are in comparison to other similar places: - Steak on a Kaiser was very good... great flavour and very little gristle/fat. Good portion and lots of topping selection. - Chicken Souvlaki Dinner - the meat is ok but maybe needs a bit more seasoning. The sides are ridiculous... literally 10 inches of salad potatoes and rice! Potatoes were nice, moist and flavourful. - Fat Burger - this thing is also massive... double patties with cheese and bacon... probably 12oz total meat. Flavour was very good too. Service (4/5) - friendly and moves decent pace. It seems to be quite busy so consider that if going around dinner times. Regular attendant cleaning up trays... couldn't find a place to clean mine then spoke with him. Atmosphere (4/5) - it's a big place with lots of tables and booths so no issues with seating. 3.5/5 hearing good things about this place, i decided to stop by with my partner. we shared the chicken souvlaki dinner and the major upside is that the portion is HUGE. we shared one plate and i was pretty full by the end. however, the chicken was only alright, overall the dish didn't wow me. i've heard that the pork (when made right) is better, so might be worth it to go back and try it out again :) side note: the dinner roll is so useless in this dinner and imo they should just get rid of it or replace the roll with more potatoes. read more

March 8/2024: Dinner with the Al. My first visit to this joint. It's a quick serve diner "Greek Food Style". Mine was the Chicken Souvlaki Dinner consisting of Chicken, rice, roasted potatoes & and small side Greek salad. The size of the portions were amazing. More than enough for one meal & one person. The chicken was delicious...soft, tender & nicely cooked. The only loss of a str came from the less than hot (in temperature) potatoes & rice & the overly hard bun with the meal. Visited with my hubby, our two and a half year old daughter and my step dad today for a little family breakfast and catch up. We arrived around 11am and it wasn't yet busy (not sure if peeps know this place does breakfast?) which is great when you have a hungry toddler. I like that you place your order yourself then wait for the food to come out which you take to a table of your choosing. I feel like it keeps things moving a bit faster. While it was close to lunch and the other menu items looked temping, we all ended up ordering breakfast. Hubby chose the beast mode breakfast (which he shared with our daughter, was a massive portion), I chose a BLT sandwich and my step dad opted for the classic two egg breakfast. We also ordered coffee and fresh OJ too. The food was up quickly, prepared with care, was presented well and everything seemed super fresh. I was obviously quite bummed when The Muddy Duck closed but I was also curious to see what would replace it. Enter Fat Fork. Given the prices on the website, I was expecting a restaurant with waiter service, but this is actually a fast casual joint where you order and pay for your food and then watch as it's prepared. I decided to try their Famous Chicken Souvlaki Dinner ("Served with rice, roast potatoes, greek salad, dinner roll & tzatziki"). After a short wait, the food was ready and we made our way to one of the many comfy booths on offer. It's an incredible amount of food. I was worried that maybe some of the components would be lackluster but everything here is quite good and even above average. The salad is very tasty, the rice is surprisingly flavorful, and the potatoes are tender and delicious. The tzatziki is the real star here, however. It's just addictively good. (Ironically the weakest aspect of the plate was the chicken, as it was a little on the dry side. It had a good flavor, at least.) If the Muddy Duck had to go away, I'm glad it's been replaced by a place with tons of potential. read more

I was trying to decide whether to got to the Fat Fork restaurant which is a 2 minute drive from home or to Zet's restaurant (airport road location) which is about a 15 minute drive from home. So I looked at both restaurant's online menus and decided that a Greek chicken salad was in order. The food quality is excellent at both restaurants, so I figured price would be the deciding factor. According to Zet's online menu the price was $18.95 and Fat Fork was $17.95, so I drove to the Fat Fork because it was closer and seemingly slightly less expensive. Unfortunately; when I placed my order for the Greek chicken salad at Fat Fork, the bill came out to over $23, so I asked the cashiers if they might have made a mistake. They replied that the salad was $20.95 plus tax. My response was that there must have been some sort of error because their own web site indicated the price should be $17.95 and showed them their web page on my smartphone. They casually replied "scroll down further one the web page and you will see the fine print that stipulates (prices subject to change)". I thought that was rather cheesy on their part... no apology for their erroneous online pricing with a dismissive pay up or get out attitude. Given the fact that it is their own web site rather than a secondary review page, there should be a major responsibility on their part to keep prices up to date rather than luring customers in with false lower prices. In any case; I was already there and hungry, so I paid the extra $3 or so and had my meal. The thing to keep in mind here is the fact that the restaurant is run in a cafeteria-like format where one orders and pays for their food, stands and waits for it to be prepared at the grill and then takes it on a tray to a seating and dining area. There are no waiters or waitresses to serve you at your table, but the menu pricing reflects what one would expect at at restaurant where such service is expected. Over $23 for a chicken salad is not what one expects at a cafeteria! Another thing that I did not particularly find endearing on a previous visit was the fact that they will not simply pour gravy on top of French fries when it was specifically requested (even though it had been paid for as an added charge), but ignored me and placed an incredibly small (almost sampler size) paper cup of gravy on the side which is really insufficient to be satisfying. By comparison; when ordering Greek fries, they automatically place an ample amount of Greek salad dressing and Feta cheese on top of the fries. Don't get me wrong; the food is of good quality, the surroundings clean, washrooms well kept and attentive staff, but the lack of an accurate on-line menu, falsely showing lower prices and cheapening out on condiments like gravy doesn't exactly impress me. Also it is difficult to find any moderately priced items on their menu, thus making it necessary to pay at least $20 dollars after taxes for any substantial meals. As a direct result; Fat Fork will not be a restaurant that I will frequent very often or at least as often as I would have liked to. One other thing worth mentioning that was something of a minor psychological irritant was the fact that the restaurant owners park a $140,000 Tesla Cyber Truck in front of their restaurant with the name of their business prominently displayed on the sides of the vehicle. Aside from the negative Karma given off to the public by the Tesla brand at the present moment in geopolitical history, it does give the impression that the owners are flaunting their wealth and perhaps making customers wonder if that wealth was acquired by charging too much for their food and services. This is a common thought that came to mind when I saw many franchise owners back in the 1990's parking their high value cars in front of their businesses... places like Mr. Submarine, Bakers Dozen Donuts, John Anderson's, etc. read more

This is a great fast casual Greek restaurant. Food portions are extremely generous, with one dinner plate big enough to feed 2 adults. The gyro dinner came with pita, tzatziki, Greek salad, potatoes, and rice pilaf. I have also tried the chicken souvlaki and pork souvlaki dinner plates and both are also good, with the meat cooked well. Steak on a Kaiser bun was rather dry, so stick to the dinner plates. This is a good place to meet up with people, and not feel pressured about staying longer to chat as there is plenty of seating. The line up is out the door currently, guessing because it's a new place that offers big portions. Went on a weekend just before the dinner rush. Managed to avoid the lineup that built up behind us by mere minutes. The wait time to order took 10 minutes but moved swiftly and our food was ready to go by the time we reached the dining hall. There were plenty of people dining in. My group each ordered a chicken souvlaki dinner with different accompaniments; rice, fries, fries with gravy, rice and potatoes. I had fries with mine. The meal could've easily fed two. I had leftovers for the following day. The Greek salad and dressing were excellent, enjoyed it very much. Thick cut fries were decent. Could have used feta and dressing or some seasoning on top. Dining in is more ideal to avoid the moisture in the take out container making the fries soggy. The chicken was lacking in some way. Big chunks but not very flavourful. Ate with ketchup and tzatziki and salad. The next day, noticed that the chicken was inedible. It smelled funny and was rubbery. Nevertheless, will return to try other menu items and give the place another chance. Would be great if they offered seafood without being breaded as an option. Dinners are in/around $20 and there is more than enough for 2ppl to share! You'll probably have leftovers. I had the Famous Pork Souvlaki, and tried the Chicken Souvlaki later. Chicken was better, but both were GOOD! Dinner came with rice, potatoes, Greek salad, & a bun...just like Zet's. You can probably get fries instead. Chunks of meat were the size of a kid's fists...HUGE! Tzatziki serving was also generous. Girl who was taking the orders was very friendly as was the man who I picked up the orders from! Salad comes dressed, so if you're not gonna finish it, it's best to get the dressing on the side. This place was crazy busy on a Saturday eve but they are fast and you don't wait long at all. The portion sizes are massive and the meats are nice and tender. I am a Greek salad fanatic and I was a bit disappointed in this one. They used that lettuce mix with the carrot and cabbage and the lettuce was wet. They also don't add red onions to the salad. First time here at Fat Fork and we will definitely be coming back! Located on Dundas, west of hwy 427, Fat Fork is easy to find. Upon walking in, I noted the sunroom and bright open space - none of that dark, gloomy ambience that is associated with restos in the area. There's a menu with pictures hung up high which made ordering super simple. To say that the portions were huge is an understatement. Every order that came to the pass consisted of a huge oval plate filled to the brim with meat, rice, salad. I saw the order for the double hamburger patty and the gravy looked so good smothered all over it with a mountain of fries. My fam of 4 (2 adult, 2 young kids) ordered 1 chicken souvlaki dinner and 1 pork dinner. The meat was cooked perfectly and was super juicy. I personally like how the edges of the meat had crunchy burnt pieces. We ended up packing 2 boxes of sides home (the potatoes were huge and there's no way one person can finish all that rice). The meat was seasoned well, not salty at all. The salad dressing wasn't too sour (from the vinegar) and had several pieces of tomatoes and olives. This is a great place for lunch and for groups. New Restaurant! Have been waiting for this spot to open. Owners are associated with Zets which has good food. Tried to call and order in for take out but no answer on the phone. When we got there it was crazy busy with about and hour wait to order. Same process as Zets wether you eat in or take out you need to line up to order and get your food. The staff were working hard to get the orders out as fast as possible and once the food was ordered it did not take very long to receive. We did a take out order and got pork souvlaki dinner, chicken souvlaki dinner and the shrimp dinner. I was disappointed as when I got home I realized they did not put any tzatziki sauces in the order. I had to drive all the way back to get them and was not impressed they did not offer any compensation for my time as my dinner was a little cool by the time I ate it. Overall the food was good and they were large portions so the price was fair. I will go back and would like to try some different items. Inside it is a bright, clean, modern, interior with plenty of spacious seating. The Staff, is friendly and professional. My food was made fast and fresh. I have had both the Pork Souvlaki on a Bun and Gyro on a Pita. Both are great for grab and go. The Pork Souvlaki Dinner is huge. If I get brave and try the Rib Eye steak I will update. The chicken souvlaki is great and I really like that the meal comes with a salad.
