You get one of these with your plate

We walked up to the restaurant while some dude was storming out complaining about how long the queue was. We almost decided not to go in because of it, but then thought, well, we're already here so we might as well give it a try. So we went in and sure enough the line was kind of long. It did the thing that lines do when they're too long, they bend and go around things they were never intended to. But we queued up anyway and it moved pretty quick. In fact if you're going for the first time you're going to appreciate the extra time a long line gives you to look at the menu and decide what you want. Anyway, the wait was worth it because the plates are very big and all of it was delicious. We tried the special chicken and special pork plates. Check out my pictures. I thought the chicken was a bit better than the pork but that's just me. The potatoes, rice, salad, bread, it's all good, don't worry about it (unless you're a suuuper picky eater and you know you are, then fine. But normal eaters, you're good).

Love the logo! The place has tons of seating area! One has to order first and then wait for the food. The washroom is clean. Omg!! Portion is huge for the price. I got the chicken souvlaki meal and every bite was amazing!! The rice was cooked right, the potatoes were delicious, the salad was nice, but I would ask for salad dressing on the side next time. The chicken pieces were hot and tender. It went well with their yummy tzatziki sauce. However at the end of the meal, the chicken did get dry cause it got cold. The piece of bread didn't look too good but oh my - it was deceiving!! It was chewy and soft and I was like - this is actually good!!! Great first impression. Will go back definitely!! One pointer to improve on: have a water station for the customer (near the napkin area).

Very spacious interior

I would call this an upscale counter fast serve restaurant. It is a huge step above any of the other Greek chains with large portions. I had a grilled chicken Greek salad that was a fantastic size. There was an entire chicken breast on it but it was a little over dressed for my liking. Biggest gripe was no tzatziki! It was extra. It should come with it. All in all a great experience.

3.5/5 hearing good things about this place, i decided to stop by with my partner. we shared the chicken souvlaki dinner and the major upside is that the portion is HUGE. we shared one plate and i was pretty full by the end. however, the chicken was only alright, overall the dish didn't wow me. i've heard that the pork (when made right) is better, so might be worth it to go back and try it out again :) side note: the dinner roll is so useless in this dinner and imo they should just get rid of it or replace the roll with more potatoes.

This place replaced the infamous Muddy Duck restaurants and it's now a bright open Greek/Burger place. Think of a cleaner Fire Pit with lots more room. Food (4.5/5) - ratings are in comparison to other similar places: - Steak on a Kaiser was very good... great flavour and very little gristle/fat. Good portion and lots of topping selection. - Chicken Souvlaki Dinner - the meat is ok but maybe needs a bit more seasoning. The sides are ridiculous... literally 10 inches of salad potatoes and rice! Potatoes were nice, moist and flavourful. - Fat Burger - this thing is also massive... double patties with cheese and bacon... probably 12oz total meat. Flavour was very good too. Service (4/5) - friendly and moves decent pace. It seems to be quite busy so consider that if going around dinner times. Regular attendant cleaning up trays... couldn't find a place to clean mine then spoke with him. Atmosphere (4/5) - it's a big place with lots of tables and booths so no issues with seating. Parking is pretty open too. Overall (4.25/5) - this is a strong contender in this space and will be a regular part of my rotation too. Hours 7-12am is pretty solid too.

March 8/2024: Dinner with the Al. My first visit to this joint. It's a quick serve diner "Greek Food Style". Mine was the Chicken Souvlaki Dinner consisting of Chicken, rice, roasted potatoes & and small side Greek salad. The size of the portions were amazing. More than enough for one meal & one person. The chicken was delicious...soft, tender & nicely cooked. The only loss of a str came from the less than hot (in temperature) potatoes & rice & the overly hard bun with the meal. Everything else is self serve. Pick up yourself from a serving table. On a finer note...the tzatziki was out of this world delicious!

BLT - yumm!

Visited with my hubby, our two and a half year old daughter and my step dad today for a little family breakfast and catch up. We arrived around 11am and it wasn't yet busy (not sure if peeps know this place does breakfast?) which is great when you have a hungry toddler. I like that you place your order yourself then wait for the food to come out which you take to a table of your choosing. I feel like it keeps things moving a bit faster. While it was close to lunch and the other menu items looked temping, we all ended up ordering breakfast. Hubby chose the beast mode breakfast (which he shared with our daughter, was a massive portion), I chose a BLT sandwich and my step dad opted for the classic two egg breakfast. We also ordered coffee and fresh OJ too. The food was up quickly, prepared with care, was presented well and everything seemed super fresh. My BLT was delish and everyone else enjoyed their meals as well. Will absolutely be back again!

The food was amazing. The service was prompt. The eating area is incredibly spacious.

Is this the car they use for delivery?

We ordered chicken souvlaki and pork souvlaki dinner plates. The portions were generous. I would have liked for the meats to be more grilled but overall we got good value for our money. There were lots of drink options and the line moved fast. The place was clean and the staff members were diligent in cleaning the table after patrons finished their meals. I would go back again if I was in the area.

I was obviously quite bummed when The Muddy Duck closed but I was also curious to see what would replace it. Enter Fat Fork. Given the prices on the website, I was expecting a restaurant with waiter service, but this is actually a fast casual joint where you order and pay for your food and then watch as it's prepared. I decided to try their Famous Chicken Souvlaki Dinner ("Served with rice, roast potatoes, greek salad, dinner roll & tzatziki"). After a short wait, the food was ready and we made our way to one of the many comfy booths on offer. It's an incredible amount of food. I was worried that maybe some of the components would be lackluster but everything here is quite good and even above average. The salad is very tasty, the rice is surprisingly flavorful, and the potatoes are tender and delicious. The tzatziki is the real star here, however. It's just addictively good. (Ironically the weakest aspect of the plate was the chicken, as it was a little on the dry side. It had a good flavor, at least.) If the Muddy Duck had to go away, I'm glad it's been replaced by a place with tons of potential.

Take out the Famous FATBurger with 2 patties with cheese and bacon. Its was huge. The meat is juicy. The sauce is delicious and crunchy bacon. I haven't been to the place because I ordered through uber eats. One day I'll come and visit the place.

Gyro Dinner

Good Greek food. The food is an excellent value and taste for the price. Large tasty servings and a good selection of dishes to choose from. You do not get table service. It is served fresh and hot cafeteria style. The tables are cleaned promptly as soon as they are vacated. Love the open feel that the glassed in area provides.

Colossus Greek Taverna - Spanakopita, delicious!

It was obvious the chicken had been precooked and reheated. We mentioned this to the waiter, who seemed irritated by our feedback but eventually took the dishes back and had them redone. The salad was okay but could've used a better dressing. We were both disappointed, especially since we used to be longtime customers. Sadly, this experience sealed the deal, we won't be returning! Honestly, it doesn't come as a surprise. Even during the pandemic, their takeout was overpriced and subpar. They've changed the place and unfortunately, not for the better. Service isn't great either.

MIDIA (mussels) were old and funky tasting and 5 or 6 of them were closed, so clearly dead before cooking. Only ate about half. But the sauce was lovely - low acid tomato sauce, slightly sweet and bright with a squeeze of fresh lemon amd sprinkle of feta. If the mussels had only been fresh it would have been a great dish. SAGANAKI (pan seared sheep's cheese) was the star of the night. Brought to the table hot and sizzling in the pan, with a fresh squeeze of lemon it was salty, crispy, chewy, and delicious! If I ever come back, I'll just order this with a glass of wine and be done. PATZARIA ME SKORTHO (sautéed beets with tzatziki) was nice but I think the beets were boiled or steamed, not sautéed. If they had been sautéed or roasted, it would have been a lot better. Also, the presentation was sloppy. As noted in other reviews, the service was extremely slow. We had to ask several times for more drinks (wine and water). The staff seemed overwhelmed and inexperienced, except the head waiter who was trying to be everywhere while also directing the rest of the serving team who all seemed confused and out of their depth. Decor was nice - clean white walls. Overall a mediocre experience. Food was ok, service was slow. Might stop in for the saganaki & wine again but not for dinner.

The inside didn't look that nice and the place looked old. The souvlaki dinner plate came with chicken, salad, rice, potatoes, three cold pita bread slices and tzatziki sauce. Minus one point as the chicken was dry even though they were large pieces. It wasn't even hot - I thought it was cooked-to-order. The portion of the salad was half the container and it had shredded feta cheese that I've never had before. Usually it's crumbled feta cheese. They followed instructions were all sauces were put to the side. Oh, the tzatziki sauce was really good. If it's homemade, kudos to them. I could use a lot more on the dry chicken and the tender rice. The three potato pieces were another hit. One bite wasn't enough. I wish they gave me more. Overall, I believe there aren't many Greek places around this neighbourhood, so if you are craving Greek, like I was then it's ok. It's a bit pricey. Would I go back? Not sure. Maybe try their gyro wrap as it looks good on other Yelpers' photos. Tried a new takeout place through this crazy pandemic. Sorry ate before taking photos.

One large group and just a couple of patrons waiting in line so not busy at all considering its the lunch hour. I ordered a chicken souvlaki on a pita and it was ready to go in less than 3 minutes. The food was delicious! Quite a big portion and stuffed with juicy chicken, fresh fries, onion, lettuce, tzaziki and tomatoes. It was so fresh and flavourful I couldn't even believe this place ever got bad reviews. I love the addition of the fries too, they really make a difference to your pita! I paid $13 for a chicken souvlaki on a pita and a diet coke. Considering this is about 2 small meals for me I don't mind the price at all. I'd like to try the baklava in addition to my next order :)

This was one of the only places a guy that I was seeing when I was in my early twenties and I would go, late at night, when we knew we wouldn't catch anyone else we knew out. The food was predictable, always - and not in a bad way - it just hit the spot after a night of drinking, or when you are hungover. The salad will forever have too much dressing and will be the unhealthiest thing but the souvlaki here was honestly the most shocking thing. Mind you I have not been in six and a half or seven years so don't take my word for it, but for a place to be around this long and still have loyal customers - they're really doing something right, it's not just sheer luck so give it a go! There is zero ambiance or date night feel here, okay. Don't take your girl unless you've been married over ten years. It's boys or girls night out material only. haha

Been here a few times, but never wrote a review. It's my second time here for Taste of Oakville…read moresince their menu had interesting dishes. For my appetizer, I got a green salad which had a nice dressing to it, tiny tomatoes, and tiny cut up figs. I would have liked bigger pieces of figs (if you are going to include it in the menu). For the main dish, I got rainbow trout which came out smaller than I imagined. It should be cooked well since it was a thin piece too. The spinach rice was a nice side and the salad had a nice colour to the overall dish. My partner's short ribs were not tender and it was hard to chew on. He said the meat didn't fall off the bone. For dessert, the walnut cake was moist, however the pistachio ice cream looked and tasted fake. Service was pretty good. The washroom at the back, near the kitchen was clean. Overall, I have given them three tries and each time, I didn't feel fully satisfied. I don't think I'll be going back.

When the food came, to my surprise, there were 2 plates, each with our one meal portioned out! I was so surprised. I didn't even ask them to do this. As you can see from the picture, they were basically 2 full meals almost. I couldn't even finish mine! I took some home. My bf cleaned his plate but he was defs not still hungry. He also mentioned how he really liked it ( he's Greek) and it felt healthy. I agreed. I loved the rice and tzatziki. The potatoes were such a generous serving and it was the perfect amount of salad. The pork was the slightest bit a tad dry but I'm not complaining at all. It's my one little critique. When the bill came, there was a $3 charge for a "split meal". However, we weren't bothered by this because we both ate and were satisfied for $30. It's rare to find that anywhere these days at a sit down resto. We are for sure coming back.
