HOW could I count the ways on how much I love their burgers? Via Uber Eats, ordered Veggie Burger combo (Beyond the Meat) burgers plus The Arena (breaded chicken strips). They were very generous with their fabulously unique mix of toppings. Gloriously messy & totally worth the extra effort to eat, the toppings were stacked, burger was well grilled & sandwiched between a toasted bun! It included a generous portion of crispy fries (+ a drink, but I always choose a bottle of water). The Arena consisted of good quality chicken meat with thankfully not too much breading / coating plus a generous portion of great crispy fries again. Will DEFINITELY be back ~ can't recommend enough! Ordered takeout so was worried about things being soggy but everything was packed well and stayed fresh & hot all the way home. Got the burger with the fried mozzarella slice, avocado, and salsa and it was great. The cheese offered a nice crispy element to the sandwich while the salsa provided a pleasant level of heat to balance out the creamy avocado (I would have preferred sliced avocado to help keep the bun from getting soggy but it was still good). The poutine fries were really good and I also ordered the cheese fries with bacon. In town for work from Arizona. My hotel is right around the corner. Last night I went simple ate Mickey D's. It was $22. Had some free time today to actually look for a good burger. Holy cow!!! This place is a gem. I was instantly greated by two people behind the counter. Let them know It was my first time. There is no reason what so ever this place is empty!! The food is as good as it's pictures but I didn't receive what I ordered. I ordered the Warrior combo special which is advertised at $24.95 CA before delivery, tax and tip. Based on the photo I was on the impression it would be to Pops to burgers and an order of fries which means you're saving $ by bundling the items and having one fry to share. Well to my surprise, the special is a burger fries and a pop which retails à la cart at $17.85CA before delivery, tax and tip. Would I order again? Yes! But I'd never buy the Warrior combo since it's not as depicted and is more expensive than buying each item as a standalone. read more

I asked a good friend of mine where he wanted to eat for his birthday this year, and he chose this place. I had eaten here before, but it never crossed my mind to make it a special occasion place. This place is known for their topping-laden or multiple-patty burgers that barely fit in your mouth, end up usually on your wrapper and make quite a mess. But those problems go away once that first bite is taken, as they are delicious. I ordered the Liberator burger, which was a beef patty graced with cheddar cheese, a crusted portobello mushroom stuffed with two cheeses, lettuce, pickles and tomato and two types of aïoli (one being the Gladiator house kind). My birthday companion got epic in his order, picking the General Maximus, a three-patty-and-cheese concoction in between two grilled cheese buns, caramelized onions, lettuce, pickles and tomato and the house aïoli. We arrived about 90 minutes to close, and given the composition of these burgers, I thought we'd be pressed for time. However, the order came through a lot faster than I anticipated, and it gave us time to enjoy our unwieldy handhelds. The place was clean, climate controlled and very spacious, with plenty of tables for eating in (which was necessary, because after eating these behemoth burgers, it was hard to get up!) This is a large establishment with ample amount of seating available. In terms of décor/ ambiance, there isn't much besides murals on the wall. It almost gives a school cafeteria type ambiance. I was so excited to try this after reading all these positive reviews. I was craving this all day so imagine my surprise when i took the first bite, I wasn't disappointed but I was also not blown away. I ended up trying the My lady burger. It was a large burger with a lot of different flavors which did not collectively work all too well together. Gladiator Burger is one of the few places I can say their burger comes out like their promo pictures. If you're craving a juicy burger or cheesesteak, this place is quite epic. By the way, all their food is Halal-friendly. Think juicy, messy ooey gooey goodness. You're not here to count calories. You're here to indulge in your most gluttonous desires. They fully delivered! I tried both the Liberator burger and the Fearless Knight cheesesteak and I like the cheesesteak slightly more. The unique thing about the Liberator burger is the crusted portobello mushroom stuffed with cheese for that perfect cheese pull. Next time I'm in the area, I might get more veg like the Survivor Burger with roasted peppers, so there's more balance in the rich food, but it's really just personal preference. I've been to this location twice now. Flavors are there! And service is friendly and quick. The first time I went my food wasn't that hot but the second time it was hot and fresh and In waited less than 5 min for my food. Gladiator Burger is located in a strip mall at the north west corner of Dixie and Aimco Blvd, just a block north of Eglinton Ave. I was away for a while sure but in that time being away one place inspired me to come back and write again and yes it was Gladiator. I mean they've been around a while. I saw their IG burger Pr0n here and there. It's sort of hard to miss when your IG feed is full of things that are dishes that can theoretically feed an entire village on another continent. Now this is good old North America, home of excess but we're in Canada so this is where excess is done more politely I guess. So if IG didn't make me think this place was all about the gram then well how would you know if not by word of mouth or some other media platform these days. This is a local place that opened up another location nearby. My friend posted about Gladiator on my FB wall sometime ago but that's when they only had the other location much more west in Mississauga. This place however took over a place that used to be where there was a Swiss Chalet and it looks like they split it or something was done at this mall to create another space with an Afghan place it looks like. Anyway what matters is this place has been around a few month and the dine in is open and is their modest patio of about 6 tables or so. Burgers, fries, steak sandwiches. This is quite the combo of things and the menu seems to be a bit consuming at first impression. There are no flattering photos on the menu like what grace IG so you are forced to use your imagination but if you can read you are going to have to read a lot with a clear mind to get an understanding about what you're about to become a part of which is ultimately a satisfying experience with the fundamentals that make the basics of burgers and fries great. If you can understand that burgers are ok to be 13 bucks or so and understand why they are more expensive than Wendy's I think you can appreciate that while a combo here will be 20 bucks after tax that in the end you should have no regrets whatsoever. In fact I'll go as far as to say you'll probably regret not coming to this place sooner. I was lazy and it was a mistake to not go to their Erin Mills location back in the day. My bad for depriving myself from what I could have experienced sooner. Live and learn. You know that movie Falling Down where Michael Douglas compares what he gets from a chain burger place to their photo of it on their wall menu? Well this place's burgers from an amateur everybody snap shotter such as myself can take a decent shot of this burger because you're getting face value. This is no giant photo of a Big Mac on the side of a 53' trailer. This is the real deal Holyfield as you get what you order and it comes as advertised. OK so to make it a combo it's like 4.75 and you get a side (I chose fries) and a fountain drink. The amount of fries you get is akin to Five Guys in that it's not lunch bag but it's still ridiculous for a single person. I ordered upgrade to combo and I received my burger with fries on a tray AND another tray with the OTHER half my fries order and my brother's entire onion rings order. He got a steak sandwich by the way. I tried a bit of it... very good. The burger I ordered was the namesake, "Gladiator" which had what they called "beef bacon" and while I didn't bother to get into the details of the exact cut of meat (belly like bacon?) it looked a bit like brisket but overall it was one of those burgers that if you have it once you will remember. I'm not saying it was a life changing experience or the equivalent of a foodgasm but to be fair it's a very good patty, a bit slippery (it's thick) but manageable to eat with what seems to be quality ingredients all around, strong bun to hold it, saucy but solid. The thing is the thing that blew me away about Gladiator while the burger IMO was well above average was their fries. I mean these fries were as close to perfect as possible. The temperature, the amount of crisp on the outside, the firmness but softer inside... I mean they're freaking plain fried potatoes but being as basic as that sounds but they are possibly the best fries I've had. I'm old and I've eat a lot of fries so that says quite a bit actually... Still overall Gladiator is probably an easy 5 star all around experience. The food lives up to the hype, the staff is friendly and helpful and the fries are just on some other plane of existence. Found a great deal on Uber Eats for a free "Warrior" burger at this place provided you spend $20 and we tried it with relatively low expectations despite the high ratings the place has. We ended up being pleasantly surprised with how great and juicy these were. Our first impression when we saw the menu was that the prices were definitely on the higher side and the worry was whether we would be left disappointed with overpriced but small size burgers. However, the burgers were a good size and definitely filled us up and all the fillings tasted very fresh and of a very high quality. We got the Commander and the Warrior burgers. I think the Commander only adds bacon and is otherwise the same burger as the Warrior. Both were really buttery, juicy and delicious. The prices are definitely high so I might probably be on the lookout for any offers when I want to try this place again but this place is highly recommended. read more

Great idea, great food. Just a star short because they have great intentions but a middle of the way execution. What I liked: The name and the food. The "are you not entertained?" Killed me. Hilarious! It makes you want to have the city close all the other fast food burger places Mcdonalds style because of the quality of everything. What didn't go so well? There is some room for improvement: Ordering: Place pictures and make a proper ordering menu! Taste: Amazing but the patty was not salted enough. Experience: The place looks ok but it is not cozy. They didn't provide me (or anyone) with napkins... Come on guys! How can you be going for decadent messy eating without napkins? Advice to them: Change the logo... Use the helmet instead and remove the muscular gladiator. You don't need it! It is off putting and old style. The helmet is way better and more memorable, simple, clean and professional. So great idea and very good execution on the food. Just felt short on the marketing and a bit on the service.
