We stopped in Pickering in search of washrooms and something to eat... I had a choice between two things I had never eaten before - Burger King and Jersey Mike! I picked Jersey Mike (Boyfriend got some Burger King and that location was very clean, even the washrooms, and quick and efficient). I got the "mini" size sandwich, turkey and provolone. Very good! I love sandwiches and I feel I don't get to enjoy them often enough (not Boyfriend's cup of tea). Clean location with friendly staff. I will definitely be having Jersey Mike's again! read more

Stopped by Jersey Mike's on a Thursday evening -- there was a bit of a line, but service moved quickly and efficiently. The staff were friendly and kept things moving, which I appreciated. There is some seating in the store and a good spot for take out or dine in. There's also ample parking. The cold cuts are sliced fresh to order, and they don't skimp on the fillings you really get a solid, hearty sandwich. The toppings are your usual lineup (lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, etc.) with the classic Jersey Mike's combo of vinegar, olive oil, and mayo for sauces. Just note that the cold cut subs aren't toasted, it's a true cold sandwich. You can really taste the difference and quality of the deli meats. I have been patiently waiting for this location to open up for weeks. I finally decided to try them out on a weekday around lunch time, a week after they opened. The location is a little bit small and is tight for seating but majority people who come in and order are doing takeout anyways. The staff is really friendly and seem to work well as a team. However, the speed at which they move is a tad bits slow. I ordered two sandwiches and I felt the speed at which they were moving. it's a lot slower than what I'm used to in other sandwich shops. The food itself is great. I usually get the number 13 sandwich on Rosemary parm bread which is one of my favourites. of course I like to get it in Mike's way, which is the best way to get your sandwich made, but I recently found out about their Chili Pepper Relish or CPR, which was delicious! If you're curious to try it, I would definitely recommend it! They also offer it on the side if you want. read more

Service and friendliness of this team is top notch. I've tried their cold subs and asked for toasted bread, apparently it's something that they don't do with their cold sandwiches but every other sandwich sub shop does. Unfortunately, the cold sub wasn't anything special to be honest. My next attempt on my next visit, I tried a hot sub (steak and cheese) as it was highly recommended from the kind staff member. When it was time to pay, the total was approximately $50 for 2 sandwiches and was more than what I'm used to paying for 2 subs. Again, the hot sub sandwich wow factor wasn't so great for me and my wife. The $50 cost was not worth it for me unfortunately and I'm not sure what all the hype is about this sandwich franchise, I think it's average at best respectfully. Its great to know finally Durham region gets a hyped up chain spot in our area rather than Toronto or Markham area. I'm comparing this to sub chains like Mr. Sub, Subway, Firehouse Sub, Quiznos back in the day. This place reminds me of In-and-Out feeling where they have so many employees helping to speed along the lines they get. Here was what we ordered: #9 (Club Supreme)-$12.75 (Regular= 6 or 7 inch)- Consist of shaved roast beef, turkey, swiss cheese, applewood bacon, mayo. You can add the lettuce, tomato, onion, and a splash of olive oil, red wine vinegar and salt and pepper... Be careful, by getting the splash of olive oil and red wine vinegar, it does get the bread to be more soggy! - The taste is there as the seasoning is good, but I didn't get it with the red wine vinegar, however, for the price point and size as they have small, regular or giant, it doesn't really justify the price point. # 43 (Chipotle Cheese Steak)- $12.95 (Regular)- Consist of grilled onion, peppers, white American cheese and mayo. - This one took a while to get and if you want the other toppings like lettuce, tomato etc you got to ask for it... The meat was dry and overcooked as I felt #9 was better... Overall to spend for two regular sandwiches only coming up to $29 or so, I believe for quality and value, its better to go to Firehouse Sub where you can get bigger subs... read more
