We came here to check it out and see if it was worth the drive. Honestly, would come back all the time as it's not too far and great overall. The menu is pretty simple. Fish and chips or Korean food. Obviously we had to try their fried chicken and cheese corn. We were not disappointed in either. The corn cheese we devoured within minutes because it was so good. The venue is located in the food court in the concourse level of the building that I work in so I waited until later in the afternoon, then went down and found the lineup not too long. I ordered a slider; there are 7 spice levels to choose from (from No Spice to Reaper) and I chose Mild. Pickles and onion, etc. are included and I found the slider to be delicious. One of my co-workers agreed with my appraisal - we both also concurred that the meat portion was quite large/generous - and mild was the right choice for my spice level. This opportunity was a very generous gesture from Dave's and I definitely recommend a visit to check them out if you haven't been.

In the times I have been in the States, I've never been to a Shake Shack. Nevertheless, I was…read moreexcited when I found out that Shake Shack was finally coming to Canada, and even more so when they opened one in Square One. The Square One location is small, with about five or six booths and five or six tables. There are also some tables set up outside the restaurant, in the mall walkway. When we arrived, there were two booths available. You place your order by Kiosk and Ordering is by kiosk which then activates a "buzzer" which you take to your table and wait for the order to be ready. We ordered three Shack Stacks and two orders of fries. The burgers were pretty good, but I was expecting them to be better for some reason. They are very similar to Burger's Priest, and I believe that Burger's Priest copied their menu. Comparing them to Burger's Priest, I would have to say that Burger's Priest is a bit better than Shake Shack. The fries at Shake Shack are frozen crinkle cut fries, but that is what they are known for. The prices for the burgers, and especially the fries, are very high for what you get, however it is Shack Shack. Would I return? Probably not because for this price point, there are a lot of other options to choose and other "local" burger places.

Being a chicken tenders and fries establishment, this is a great place for picky eaters! The restaurant is pretty spacious, and has a small patio. You order your food at the counter and you get a pager to pick up your food when it's ready. We got chicken tenders and fries, and upgraded one of them to a poutine. I think the poutine was pretty good, with lots of cheese curds and gravy. The chicken was really good, being tender to bite while also holding shape well and not crumbling to bits while eating. I also liked the sauce I got, which was something like a spicy ranch. I also liked the Texas toast and pickle on the side. I was pleased to find some good US southern comfort food this far north in the world!

And now…read morebecause they have opened a new closer location, original location was in Oakville, I made the trip to Etobicoke to check them out. Because also, hubby always craves fried chicken. Menu is small, only a few chicken sandwich options, a few wraps, and some chicken fingers, fries etc. Prices I felt were on the higher side, as a sandwich averaged about $15 alone, combo was an additional $4+, higher if you want to get the Pop Shoppe soft drinks. For our family of 4, we ordered the Cartelito (the most "regular" chicken sandwich), the TKO (topped with slaw, honey dijon and some chilli oil), the Uppercut (chili oil, japanese slaw, chipotle mayo), and an order of Chix & Sticks (chicken finger and fries). Burgers & chicken fingers were done great. Thick cuts of crispy fried chicken. Fries were good, similar to new york fries. I got an order of onion rings, these weren't great, batter was thick and a bit too crunchy, i don't think they were home made, likely frozen, so i would stick to the fries next time i go. Good treat once in a while, but definitely a once in a while treat as for a lunch for a family of 4, it was quite pricey.

We used to go to popeyes for chicken, but we both have gotten tired of them. We were the only ones there at the time, and it looks like they make it fresh when you order, but not sure if that is still the case when it gets busy. I got a 2 piece combo and my friend had a chicken sandwich. He was a big fan of the previous popeyes chicken sandwich, but not the one now, and he says this one was better than the current popeyes sandwich. I felt my chicken was good too. Taste wise, I felt the flavour tastes very close to KFC, except not as salty as them. One drumstick was standard size, but the other thigh piece was huge. Fries was ok too, they use the bugger ones than most fast food prices. Price, I thought it was pretty standard for like other fast food places. Would come back to try other items.

Something new is about to hit Toronto, that's never been seen before - authentic London Style Fried…read moreChicken. And I got to eat some yesterday during the quiet soft launch before the grand opening this Friday (so there - sticks tongue out). Ok, but much like I was wondering, as I'm sure you are, what's the deal with LFC and why is it different than southern fried. Apparently, unbeknownst to me, in London, UK, the most popular late night/afterbar food is NOT curry chips (fries), that's the late night snack, but the real late night choice of Londoners is chicken. Fried Chicken, London style! While there is breast and leg available, the big difference with London Fried Chicken is succulent, plump wings, battered and fried to a crispy perfection (but not as crispy as say a Popeyes where there's an audible crunch), but let's call it and "approachable crunch", one that gives the mouth feel of crunch, without being overly greasy and yes still easy to bite into with minimal crumbling/mess. The seasoning on London Fried Chicken is both regular and spicy but not as spicy as other southern fried places - but don't be naive there is still some kick. Best of all, the way they season the chicken is that it's not just skin deep, it goes deep into the meat - ughhhhh so deep, it;s so good when the 'seasoning' goes deep. *shudders*. Oops, ok that got weird as I relived my eats from yesterday. I apologize if I creeped anyone out there. #sorryNOTsorry. I went with a 6-piece of wings and 2 chicken breasts. Which might sound like a lot but it was totally manageable and I downed it right fast, best of all the price -UNDER $12 for all that chicken. It's only the soft opening until Friday so they're just getting feedback on the chicken, but as of Friday they will have an assortment of sides, salads and even fried chicken filet burgers! I spoke with the duo responsible to bringing this concept to Toronto and they said their focus is on keeping prices affordable while bringing the best quality chicken to locals. They have no plans to be on any delivery service in the near future so you need to get to Islington and Lakeshore in south Etobicoke ASAP before it's too late Eatcrest Out

I ordered the O.T.W and Poutine...and dined in my rental car. The O.T.W was a perfectly cooked crispy chicken breast (hugh, fresh, and perfectly cooked). It was covered in white aioli sauce and covered in disco snow (the cartel knows what its doing). So...don't take a breath in when taking that first bite...that disco snow will wreak havoc. But...after that first initial...hit...the sandwich is DELICIOUS! The poutine is, likewise, delicious. The fries are fresh and still crispy, even under all that gravy...HOW?! All in all, if I return the area, I would definitely return and eat in my car here again!
