After reading some reviews, inoted that someone had an issue with parking, so I'd like to advise that there is a large parking lot in the rear of the plaza and there is a rear entrance into the deli as well. Great deli, but what a waste on "borsht" soup. 3/4 cabbage, weird sweet orangy broth. No beets, carrots or potatoes. 4 tiny pieces of beef. For $10 takeout I came home and thew it out. Call it cabbage soup, with 4 tiny pieces of beef. Fished out the meat and the rest went in the garbage. I don't mind if a soup tastes different, but this was gross. This may be the best Deli in Toronto for Pastrami. Pancer's spice their own Pastrami and its shows, the taste is excellent and the meat just melts in your mouth. I keep going back here. Unbelievable Brisket!!! Haven't been able to find good Jewish brisket since Yitz's closed. Just found Pancer's! Got a pound, with gravy. Came to the legendary Pancer's on Friday. Tried to pre-order using their website but something happened just before I was ready to input my payment details. Tried to reach them by phone but only had a message. Decided to drive down to the restaurant and shared with the store of my connection issues. No problem. They filled my order within ten minutes. Wanted to try this restaurant for a while and finally had the chance to. We arrived just before 1 pm on a Sunday and waited a few minutes. This restaurant is constantly busy. It is located in a small strip mall with limited parking and we got a spot as someone was leaving. We ordered the matzo ball soup, the beef knish with gravy, the latkes, pastrami sandwich and the cabbage roll platter. The matzo ball soup came with one large matzo ball and was quite tasty. The beef knish with gravy was filled with ground beef and mashed potato and fried. It was very delicious. The pastrami sandwich was definitely the highlight. It was so juicy and so flavourful. April 8/2024: Lunch with Jeroen. This place appeared to be a traditional style New York Deli that serves a darn good sandwich! I had the lunch combo ($18.60) of Corned beef on Rye with fries, coleslaw & and Jewish deli, dill pickle! Let's start with the sandwich...generous serving with a good portion of corned beef. Rye was fresh but the corned beef was a little dry (loss of a star). The fries were tasty & so was the vinaigrette coleslaw. The kosher dill was very tasty & a good size! Talkin about keeping ya full after lunch! I needed a nap but that's a good thing! My server "Christine" was a table veteran but quite funny & efficient. Food was served fast. As I said the style of restaurant was a NY Deli. It was busy but neat & tidy & appeared well cared for. The bathroom was clean & modern, so no issues. This is a definite do over! read more

Doesn't look like much from the outside but there is lots of space and nice booths to sit inside with full service dine-in. We got in just before they closed so they only had sandwiches and were out of pastrami which I really wanted. Got the corned beef on an onion bun and it was delicious and huge. First it's a non descript deli in a non descript plaza , there are many doors and hallways to enter into a very busy almost packed narrow restaurant. i came to the deli to meet some friends of mine who worked with me in Vancouver and had moved to North york recently. They had recommended this place to me so we thought we talk about the old days and what had happened to us. We all grabbed smoked meat sandwiches with mustard and shared some fries with coffee. Some colleagues were doing a lunch run and asked if I'd be interested. I'm a sucker for pastrami sandwiches so had to order one in spite of having a packed lunch. To note, this review is based solely on the food. I did not go to their location. I tried the pastrami sandwich with two small latkes. The pastrami sandwich was delicious - the meat was juicy and perfectly seasoned. It just melted in my mouth. I didn't get mustard with it, but it was still extremely tasty. The latkes were also delicious. On their menu, it says that they're small, but this is definitely an understatement. Crispy and packed with potato, it was really good. I have had some latkes where it's majority batter and just tastes likes tasteless bread with some potato, but this one was different. We picked up some chop liver, sliced tongue(salami style) and a couple of kishkas It's a nice family run business and we love supporting local restos. We were recommended by this place and apparently they're very well known. They did not disappoint! The Beef tongue was amazing super fresh and delicious. The kishka was delicious and fresh. The chop liver was absolutely mouthwatering almost as good as how my bubby use to make it. The food and service Top notch.. it's pretty pricey but it's worth every penny and it's a treat. What a gem of a place ! Don't let the simple storefront fool ya...this local Jewish diner has been around for decades and they serve up the juiciest pastrami sandwiches! We used to get takeout every week and tried out a variety of sandwiches from the pastrami, corn beef to the reuben. Appetizers are always good to try like the Kishka and cheese blintzes. I'll be coming back for the platters next and latkes. Oh and if you have kids (or just want a smaller portion) just grab the kids deli sandwich (you can choose any meat)! Best of all...for the deli meats you choose whether you want leaner or medium fatty meat....always choose medium for a more flavourful bite! read more

A friend told me about this deli & we went here to pick up our food orders after walking at the park nearby. I got enough food for my whole family. Everyone liked the food & it was a great price too. I ordered the Rose burger & it was delicious. Better than Five Guys burgers which I'd had earlier in the week. Other items in our order were the Beef burger with Brisket trimmings, Hot dog with brisket trimmings, Stan burger, Pastrami sandwich, and the sides of coleslaw, fries, pickle etc. I'll definitely buy food from here again. To sum it up, the food was delicious, priced well, proportioned well, and service is top notch! This deli is located in a small plaza with a Shoppers Drug Mart nearby. At first I wasn't sure if I was getting my order as the power had gone out in the area. But luckily the power came back on & they were able to fill my order! They were very nice about it too. Due to covid they are taking orders by phone & then when you come to pick it up you have to call them when you get there. At the time of writing this review there is no indoor dining. Jewish guy visiting Toronto for a wedding. My third time in the city and never had the time to try a local Jewish deli. NYC born and lived in NY and LA as an adult. My favorite delis have been Langer's in LA and the Carnegie from when I was a child until it closed. My point in mentioning this is that I have had a lot of good corned beef sandwiches and many bad ones, but this was better than both of them and one of the best I ever had. I got the triple decker corned beef and turkey on rye which had coleslaw and I added swiss cheese and thousand island dressing on the side. I also ordered their older pickles. It was absolutely delicious. I love that the corned beef and turkey was sliced thin, but not too thin like it was chopped or shaved. The corned beef was very lean and perfectly trimmed. I wanted to try local soft drinks so I got a black cherry and cream soda. A very memorable lunch. Next time I return, I will be back. My order was delivered and everything was packed perfectly! My favourite Jewish kosher number whenever I need a 'pick me up' with my coffee or even a cold coke. The meat slicer is so entertaining to watch while waiting for my order, as I watch other loyal fans either order pounds of meat and stacks of bread right at the counter for the next couple of lunch entrees or for breakfast on the weekend. I was disappointed in the hand cut smoked meat. It certainly wasn't like the great sandwiches I remember. It was dry. Supposed to be homemade, maybe so, but the flavour just wasn't there. The poutine was also disappointing. The frozen fries were dry, like they had been double dipped in the cooking oil. The picture looked great which was the reason why I ordered it. Wish I hadn't. I tried Pancers about two years ago after Katz closed (woe are we) and was disappointed. Tried again last week. Corned beef very fatty. Didn't think to ask for lean but this was not at all good. I ended up buying chicago brand corned beef slices at Coppas - steaming at home- on fresh rye -very tasty. Fraction of cost. Sadly Toronto has lost most of the good sources of deli. I make my own potato latkes not paying a fortune for them. read more
