Bacon cheeseburger
Stefanie S.

For the price, I'd consider Five Guys a "treat" burger. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with regular fries. Food: 4/5. Every bite was delicious. The toppings are the highlight here in my opinion. Oozing cheese and crunchy pickles. The bun and fries were slightly soggy, but not soggy enough to damper the experience. Service: 4/5. We were served quickly and the order was made quickly as well. The only thing I noticed was one of the cooks mouthing a particular F-word every time he saw a new customer walk in. He didn't seem too happy to serve but that's just one person out of the whole team. Value for money: 3/5. It's expensive for a burger. Most toppings are free which is a positive. The regular burgers come with 2 paddy's which is another plus. You also get lots of fries (some of which spill into the bag - who doesn't love bag fries?)

a hamburger, fries and a drink

I've only eaten at Five Guys once before, a couple of years ago in Florida. I left there thinking that the food and the place was really greasy. I guess I have to give them a point for consistency. As soon as I walked into the Ajax location today, the air was heavy with oil and the floor was a bit slippery (it was humid outside but not raining, yet). I ordered a bacon burger, medium sized Cajun fries, and a regular sized drink. The total was $17.60. Hmmm, that seems kinda expensive. I was asked what toppings I would like on my burger. Wow, lots of choices, and no extra charge. Okay. I walked over to the Pick-Up counter to wait for my order number to be called. Hey, they have a box of peanuts in the shell and a scoop to help yourself. Okay. As much as I appreciated this, I did find it a little odd to have peanuts available, especially in an open container accessible by anybody in the restaurant. Don't they have any concerns about allergies? The burger tasted pretty decent, albeit a bit greasy. The fries were nicely seasoned but a little soggy (greasy). There's a reason they stuff a handful of napkins in the bag. Unless you really LOVE potatoes, there's probably no need to order more than a small sized fries. The serving was generous. Considering the amount of fries, unlimited toppings at no extra charge, and free drink refills, it doesn't seem as expensive anymore. It is worth mentioning that the crew of this location worked like a well oiled (pardon the pun) machine! It got really busy while I was there and their communication with each other and sharing of responsibilities was very obvious. And they all did it with a smile! Unfortunately, because of the greasy environment and food, I won't be rushing back.

Five guys is one of my fave burger places and definitely love their French fries and the free peanuts. Fast service and staff is friendly.

Very clean and tidy. Unlike in the USA, Five Guys customers in Canada don't toss peanut shells onto the floor

Looking for a great burger in west Durham Region? Don't waste your time reading those arrogant snobs on certain other websites (whose moderators would probably delete this review), just go directly to the Durham Centre in Ajax and go to Five Guys. Until this New Jersey import came along, the selection in Pickering and Ajax was weak at best. Lots of "meatloaf" style burgers (yuck), the over-rated New York Fries-owned garbage across the street called South St. Burger, etc. Time for the Americans to take the local yokels to school. If you've never been, note that a regular hamburger or cheeseburger is a DOUBLE, while the little hamburger/cheeseburger is a SINGLE. Unlike a lot of other places out there, toppings are free at Five Guys (other than cheese or bacon). Grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, jalapeno peppers... too many places charge for these. Not here! I like to order a cheeseburger and have it "all the way" plus jalapeno peppers. Perfect combination, but even with all those extras, the freshness and the flavour of the beef still comes through. Fries are amazing - they're cut in-house, never frozen, fried in peanut oil* and they always dump in more than you order. We ordered "regular" fries, there was a box with the fries in it, and as many fries that were in the box, scattered on the bottom of the bag!! Another tip - always check the whiteboard on the wall near the cash registers, which tells you which farm the potatoes being used for today's fries came from. In Canadian locations, more often than not you'll see Cavendish Farms, PEI up there - same generic taters as you can buy at any Loblaws. But if you see an IDAHO farm listed, you're in for a treat. I find Idaho potatoes much more flavorful than the bland varieties out of PEI, New Brunswick, or Ontario. They have this "earthy", umami taste to them you just don't get in Canadian product. Worth noting, I have seem some staff at this store who were there since Day 1. You don't see that low a turnover at McDonald's...

Great guilty pleasure food! The hamburgers are great and this time I tried a dog and was not disappointed. Look, there nothing healthy on the menu and sometimes that's just what a girl needs! Enjoy!

Everything was well labelled with signage so you know exactly where to go when you walk in. My go-tos are always their bucket meals: Bucket of chicken 5/5 - Comes with legs and thighs. You can choose between original or spicy. It's super crispy and juicy on the inside. Pairs best with their gravy. Jolly spaghetti 5/5 - Something about a sweet spaghetti with some hot dog sausages just hits the spot so good! Adobo rice 4/5 - First time trying this side and probably would not get it again. I definitely liked the fries and spaghetti more. Mashed potatoes 5/5 - A great side to have with your fried chicken. Fries 5/5 - A classic and must get pairing for this meal. Peach mango pie 5/5 - Definitely opt for th peach mango pie over the ube pie. Crispy on the outside, ooey, gooey filling on the inside. I love this meal and fast food chain so much! Everything is so good and hits the spot. Don't forget to get extra gravy to go with everything!

This AI helps: Sort and analyze complaints Detect patterns (e.g., common issues) Speed up resolution times (reportedly improved by 50%+) So AI is helping internally, not necessarily talking to you directly. I am writing to formally document the issues we experienced during our visit to the Jollibee Ajax location. Our order came out to be like 164.94$ after taxes. We came to pick up the food and get on the road. I wanted to eat there so that the food would be fresh and hot. The only good thing that was hot was the chicken. The Angus burger was served cold and dry. We also ordered 24 pieces of Jolly Chicken -- 12 regular and 12 spicy --, but the buckets were not labelled or distinguished in any way. When I approached a staff member to ask which buckets were spicy, she initially pointed to a toothpick that was not there. I had to insist before she checked the receipt, consulted the manager, and corrected the order. Additionally, fries were missing from one of the combos. The manager, who was responsible for dispatching and packing the order, never acknowledged the mistake or offered an apology. Neither did any other staff member. That was not the reaction a manager should be having. They should be taking care of it themselves and apologizing for the error on their part. The thing that really makes me feel like we are not guests at the location is that we are just a number with $$$ on top of our heads. We were ready to take the order and go. If we did, there would be a lot more upset people who gave money to taste the food. We would have turned back to drive all the ways there. For sure, there will definitely be a huge complaint. Surprisingly, there were no apologies from the staff either. Funny thing is, I was doing a review of the food and service. It probably won't be that great due to the circumstances. I told myself not to post anything, maybe he can do a review another time after we speak to them. I guess not. During our wait for our food, a white Caucasian man said I do not usually do this and it's my first time here, but my burger inside was cold. I'm sure your manager on duty can recall this complaint. How can we ensure that this situation does not happen to anyone else, and what steps will you take to make things right? It has now been 12 days without any response or communication from the store. This is incredibly disappointing. Even with advanced technologies like AI, they still do not reach out to their customers after 12 days and counting. They should take an example from McDonald's, which is known for effectively addressing customer complaints.

We got two burgers, fries and onion rings. All were really great. Burgers were classic with a soft bun, some veg and standard toppings - but everything was really fresh and the meat tasted great. Fries and onion rings were both fantastic. Ready to go for our order but still tasted fresh - we ate in the car and shared. The onion rings were particularly good. Nice breaded crunch and that medium cooked onion on the inside - not soggy or raw. Would definitely return if I'm near there again - they are in my bookmarks!

I'm not sure if the app is different than ordering in store but the descriptions on the website don't quite match the customizations. The website listed the double McCoy would to include two 4.5 oz. patties and two slices of real Canadian Cheddar Cheese however the cheese was extra charge on the app. Food 3/5 We ordered the Double McCoy burger combo with poutine and chocolate milkshake in addition to McCoy burger. The burgers were okay but nothing exceptional and at the time writing don't really recall much of it. The poutine was loaded with gravy which would normally be a great thing however all the fries were soggy by the time we got home so we'll never know if they were crispy to begin with. The gravy itself lacked flavour and was more or less a sauce with a hint of saltiness. The milkshake was perhaps the only thing that stood out in the this meal. It was rich, creamy, chocolatey and a good way to end the meal. I can't quite comment on the service as we picked up the order and ordered through an app. The order was ready to go by the time we went to pick it up so I didn't have much interaction with the staff either. They were quick to complete my order and were nice with the limited time I was in the store. Overall I would like to come back to the restaurant when dine in resumes to try the other menu items in the store. I would like to try the food when it's hot and hopefully be able to get a better judgement of what the food is really like.
