I placed an order on grubhub for pickup , and ordered a sub and added roast beef to it. When i picked up our food the sub was missing all of the condiments . I called to not complain , but to just fix my order . When i called and told them about the sub, they told me it was my fault the order was wrong , and was really rude . The roast beef was extra bloody also . We didn't eat the sub, and we requested a refund for the sub on grubhub , and they refunded us the 7.55$ The owner of poor boys saw we got a refund back, he then went back to his Grubhub account , and up charged the roast beef that was added to the sub as 7.55$ to counteract my refund I received from Grubhub . I then called grubhub and told them what he did. They issued me yet again.... another refund . read more

We tried it when we first moved here from NY and had to go back the next day because we thought it was so good!! Have been back multiple times since and always pleased. What a great place to grab lunch! Price are very reasonable for all that you get. Subs are huge and stuffed with meats and cheeses. Not the normal lettuce tomato fillers you get at those other sub shops. Found through yelp and will be going back during our many trips to the shore. Staff was great and super friendly! Sandwiches from Poor Boys are awesome! We started visiting Poor Boys a few years ago in Toms River when they were Belly Busters and we'd go to Seaside on the weekends. Lo and behold, we moved to Brick, and now they are 2 miles away near the Planet Fitness! Sandwiches are great - the bread is crusty and soft. The Belly Buster will satisfy your urge for an Italian sub, with its variety of cold cuts. The meatballs on the meatball parm would taste fantastic on their own. I may have to start ordering them as a side to put over my spaghetti at home! The turkey / cheese is a classic with super thin, fresh turkey piled high and just the right amount of cheese. The staff is always friendly - whether on the phone or in person. They will cut the subs into quarters and arrange on a platter if your having a backyard party. I have always received rave reviews from friends and family when I bring Poor Boys subs to a party. Really enjoy the #20(STEAK SAUTE) I always add roasted red peppers to it. It's a cheese steak with provolone & spinach sauted with fresh garlic chopped & sauted with extra virgin olive oil. A few other subs I must recommend a "club supreme" any of the "Rachael" sandwiches & the cali mega melt. Love that they sell 'Deep River' chips with a nice selection. It's sweet to see a family owned & run shop; the staff are friendly & for the amount of meat & veggies on the sub I don't understand the prices its a steal! The only bad thing I can say is not enough parking spots, guess it says something if you might have to wait for a spot. Luckily it's next to the gym I go to so getting a bite to eat on the go is easy! :) read more

One and done for me. Ordered some food for delivery. First, I asked for no cheese on the Italian and it came with cheese. The cheesesteak the cheese wasn't melted and bland. They put the cheese on the roll and then the steak. This is why the cheese doesn't melt into the meat. The rolls were fresh and the fries and onion rings were good. read more

Ordered a cheese steak sub with sauce (tomato sauce) and a half a # 5. When I got there I was asked if I wanted cheese on my cheese steak sub. Duh, they call it cheese steak cause it has cheese on it. I was then questioned about the sauce and replied tomato sauce as was indicated on the on line order. I also requested fried onions and peppers on the sub. Get home and open the cheese steak sub and low and behold there is no cheese on it, no fried peppers and instead of tomato sauce there was some kind of horrible bar b q sauce on it. Now the cold sub was ordered wet with no oregano. Saw half of it being prepared and watched them put oil and vinegar on one half of the bread. Got distracted by the person at the cash register and didn't watch the rest of the sub being made. Got home and there was no lettuce on the sub. Total waste of money. We threw away half of the cheese steak and not sure what we are going to do with the half of the # 5. Never going back there again after getting subs there for many years. read more

I have been having Poor Boy's subs since a little kid and when the original closed or was heart breaking. I always felt Jersey Mikes was no where as good, and grabbing 3 subs to take back to Delaware was awesome. Great bread, delicious over portioned high quality lunch meats it was a dinner the whole family enjoyed tonight. It is so good to see the original owners back with this amazing location. I have been here a bunch of times and I love the cold subs. The meats are all sliced as the sandwich is made. The staff is friendly and they are quick to make your orders and the place is clean. I have it 4 stars because I did her a cheesesteak and it was the worst I have ever had in my life. The cheese was not even melted and the meat tastes disgusting. It happens and I will be back just not for the cheesesteak. read more

Good sub. Not as great as it could be. Taste is good, bread holds up, cold cuts a bit skimpy compared to competitors, three slices of tomato sliced thin with a razor blade, as were the four tiny pieces of onion. Tons of lettuce. For years My dad and I used to frequently visit the old Poor Boys in Brick, when he worked as a Police Officer in Lakewood . I have wonderful memories of the place and food was always great, ,the staff knew us by sight and always felt like family there. I was tremendously heartbroken when I witnessed the closing of the Original location. My father is now passed , and I have now moved in NC. I will never forget all the great time we had at Poor Boys and If I ever return, I just may break down and cry. The staff was always good and the food, always great! read more

I'm an admitted "sub snob" given I worked in a sub shop for nearly a decade. When I moved down the shore a couple years back I was so disillusioned thinking that the shore would have the best subs in jersey. I had given up all hope till I found Poor Boys! They make an excellent sandwich. Great amount of meat and cheese, huge selection, soups are amazing...they even have the Lindens Cookies my old sub shop up north carried. Nothing against Jersey Mikes but they are just average, sometimes their bread is stale, and their meat is super salty. Poor Boys is consistently awesome. read more

Although I consider them one of the better sub shops in the area I will no longer be ordering from them. I found it absolutely ridiculous that they close at 4 o'clock on a Sunday. I mean really football all day probably one of your biggest selling sub days of the week and you close at 4 o'clock. I will go the extra couple blocks and go to Jersey Mike's now. read more

Ordered subs from here after they were highly recommended... They were good but nothing special and the minimum delivery amount and delivery fee added on to already expensive subs is ridiculous! I would probably try again if I ate in the shop but definitely not ordering to go again unless they lower the minimum delivery order or drop the delivery fee. read more
