What a pleasant surprise. We were headed to Deep Eddy Cabaret and decided to stop in and have a bite on our way up the hill!! Glad we did!! We split the 1/4 pound Pool Cheeseburger all the way and some fries. Husband had a beer, I had a pineapple lemonade made fresh at the bar....oh my it was sooo good. The burger was a first class burger, hot, fresh, juicy, and even the bun was good. It was really cold the day we were there, I can only imagine how great it would be to hang out there on a good weather day - although I bet it get packed out busy!! Lots of kids in and out while we were there too, so family friendly. Saw some tikes eating grilled cheese that looked mighty good! Highly recommend you try it!!! read more

Really good veggie burger (Hippie Burger), fries and love the bun! It's got great food and old Austin vibe! Very laid back. Servers are friendly. You wait in line to order and food order take about as long as the line is at the time you arrive. But sit back and enjoy your beverage while your food is being prepared. Pool Burger is the best! Amazing tiki drinks, delicious burgers, and pro-tip: get the soft serve! It's some of the best chocolate/vanilla soft serve you can find. The one drawback is the very limited parking situation, but that's sort of the norm in Austin these days. We really loved the burger with pineapple, and got a side of hot crispy french fries. Best backyard burger I've had in a while. Perfectly portioned and seasoned. Fries are crispy and perfectly seasoned as well. It's located behind Deep Eddy tavern and you can sometimes park on the road. Hipsters and burger snobs might hate the fact that it's so close to Tarrytown sans the long lines, but that only adds to the mystique and simplicity of this beautiful vittle. read more

The drinks are deceptively strong and absolutely delicious, the burgers are fucking amazing (get the Hawaiian one with pineapple!), and the fries are reminiscent of Shake Shack, so I was a big fan. Josh was able to help me and a friend find the best seat to watch the show and continued to help us by turning up the volume, positioning the TV just right. Extremely underwhelmed by the food quality and taste. The burger was over cooked and flavorless. I would expect so much more from an $8 burger. I don't eat out at fast food chains but I would easily prefer to over this place. The drinks were decent, atmosphere was cute & staff was friendly. That is the only reason I'm giving 3 stars. Very sweet atmosphere! Though as a student from AHS just down the road WAY too expensive!!! I mean $10 for a burger is ridiculous. I had a veggie burger- the bun and dressings blue my socks off, and the pattie was hands down the BEST veggie burger I've ever had. Though the pattie was made mostly of quinoa so it sort of fell apart and i grabbed a fork to eat the rest of it. It was about $34 for me and my friend to grab two burgers with one order of fries and one drink off the menu. The atmosphere is absolutley incredible though, all the food is made in an airstream and you order at a bar, the decor is very hawaiian; I digggg it. I would literally come here just to take good pics with pals if you could come at a time its not busy!!! I'd come here again just because I have no problem spending my parents hard earned money on wicked good burgers. read more

I eat a lot of fast food. Because I eat so much fast food, I have eaten at almost every restaurant that is even remotely considered fast, and I'm here to tell you that only one burger really stands out from the rest and it's the Pool Burger burger. What Pool Burger lacks in french fries, it makes up for in the burger. There are two main components in the burger that are different from all the others. One is the freshness and the other is the bun. In Pool Burger's burger, you can taste the crispness of the lettuce and the juiciness of the meat, which is lacking in other burgers, like say, P Terry's. The other component is the bun. Now, while the bun doesn't seem like it plays that big a role, it does. The bun is perfect. It smells like your grandmother's freshly baked bread coming right out of the oven, it feels like an edible cloud brought down from heaven, and it tastes better than words can describe. While the burger alone is enough to win anybody over, the decor puts it over the top. It's a Hawaiian luau theme and it truly makes you feel like you are in a well, Hawaiian luau, which enhances the experience beyond belief. There is colorful fringe and tiki statues everywhere. Surprisingly, when you are eating at Pool Burger, you don't even notice that it's fast food. I've even questioned whether it should be in that category of fast food because it tastes so good. And now you know that whenever you're in the mood for an amazing, yet quickly prepared burger and Hawaiian-themed fast food restaurant, head down to Pool Burger, and after, I'm sure you'll be questioning whether or not it's fast food, too. read more

I feel bad writing this review because I had such high expectation for this place after reading about it online. First of all, there is only on street parking which the staff couldn't really advise me where it was okay and not okay to park (they did say you could park at Deep Eddy pool). We went on a Saturday night which I thought would be busy but it was a very small crowd (around 6 p.m.). This was actually fine as we had our toddler in tow. I would say that this place is ABSOLUTELY not kid friendly. One of the managers was very nice and found us the one high chair they have. On the bright side, the food was good. Not mind blowing, but good. Like P-terrys but much more expensive and it didn't take long to get our order. You order at the bar FYI which took me about 10 minutes to figure out. I'll give Pool Burger some grace because they're new but they really need to work on getting their staff to assist new customers, clean the bathrooms and make this place accessible for people with kids. read more
