Good food, good service, and reasonably priced. Not a lot of ambience that's why I get takeout

The dining process is super convenient and straightforward: you select your favorite soup base from options like Tonkotsu or Spicy Miso on your order sheet, choose your starting cuts of meat, and then head over to the self-serve area to round out your meal. The quality of the food across the board is top-notch--the meats arrive fresh and finely sliced, and you can reorder as much as you want at no additional charge. What truly sets this place apart, beyond the delicious food and attentive service, is the comfortable dining environment. Unlike many other hot pot restaurants where the heat leaves you sweating through your meal, the AC here is powerful and keeps the room perfectly cool. You can fully enjoy cooking your hot pot with unlimited trips to the self-serve bar for fresh veggies, sauces, seafood, noodles, and dessert without feeling uncomfortably warm. It is an all-around fantastic spot for a relaxed, delicious, and satisfying lunch.

We stuck to the beef and the pork belly which was very good, the beef not so much though. The buffet bar had plenty of options and sauces so that was a plus but unfortunately the lack of service really made this experience a two-start rating. We were greeted (dryly), seated, and left to figure out the confusing ordering sheet. Thankfully we have experience with HotPot and (sort of) figured it out and even after we expressed concern about how we were suppose to order/write down our meat selections per round (which they claim is unlimited but they only have 3 columns on the sheet) our questions remained unanswered. Trying to flag a waiter down to order more meat was a pain as hardly any were available and we were missing appetizers on our "second" but with the way the service was we figured there wasn't any point in bringing it up not to mention the lack of (flat) soda refills. I doubt we will be returning.

She also made sure to check on us frequently throughout the meal as well. We ordered 4 boba drinks (not the best we've had, but still refreshing on a hot day) and a bunch of apps to share family style plus the miso hot pot which is a huge portion. All the hot pot places I have ever been to from San Diego to Hawaii, you just choose your broth and that is simmering while you go pick out your pre-plated veggies and meats that you want. The way this is premade being on heat the entire meal, made everything soggy, unfortunately. The broth was ok, more umami flavor from the konbu than actual miso flavor. Nothing included in the hot pot really had any flavor unless you used their sauce on the table, the soybean chili was my favorite. The appetizers were really good, from the rocket shrimp to the beef skewers, my favorite was the pork egg roll which was fried in rice paper. They give you complementary rice and vermicelli noodles along with an amazing sweetened Japanese green tea with your hot pot order as well. Our youngest enjoyed the popcorn chicken and the french fries the most. Ended up spending $120 after tip for lunch for four which is pricey, but we definitely paid for the experience and novelty.

The pork belly and beef short ribs were amazing! We did ask for more sesame oil than average, but they did deliver. Prior to finding this little gem, we went to two other KBBQ places and all were packed with long wait times. We were seen immediately. Although small, this place was perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and we will definitely be coming back again.

I came here craving soup after being sick and ordered the pork soon tofu, while my wife ordered the bulgogi. The meat in both dishes was noticeably tough and difficult to chew compared to other Korean tofu restaurants we've visited. Because I wasn't feeling well, I couldn't fully taste the food, but my wife and daughter both immediately noticed that the bulgogi tasted sour. When we brought it to the staff's attention, they kindly offered to replace the meat, so we requested teriyaki chicken instead. Unfortunately, another serving of bulgogi was brought out instead. By that point, my wife and daughter had already finished eating and gone to the car, so I simply asked for it to be boxed up. After getting home, we decided to throw it away because we didn't feel comfortable taking a chance on meat that tasted off. The side dishes also didn't seem fresh, which matched what I had seen mentioned in other reviews. While I can't say for certain what caused the sour taste, it left us without confidence in the meal. Another thing worth mentioning is that there was no air conditioning on a very hot summer day, which made it uncomfortable to enjoy a steaming bowl of soup. Also, the dishes were served on hot plates, but nothing arrived sizzling or boiling the way you would normally expect at a Korean tofu restaurant. I genuinely want local family-owned restaurants to succeed, which is why writing this review isn't easy. Every restaurant can have an off day, and hopefully that's what happened here. Unfortunately, this visit didn't meet our expectations, and based on our experience, I'd encourage others to use their own judgment when deciding to dine here.

The value is definitely the main highlight, pricing is fair for AYCE and you get a decent variety of meats, veggies, and sides. For a casual hot pot night, it's hard to complain on cost alone. That said, there were a few things that made the experience a bit less smooth. Parking was a challenge since the plaza gets very busy, so it took a while to find a spot. Inside, the setup was also a little confusing at first the hot pot being built into the table takes some getting used to, and it made it slightly awkward to get the soup out comfortably while cooking. Food-wise, it was good, but the refill timing was inconsistent. A few items like meat and fruit ran out faster than expected, and we had to wait a while, sometimes close to 30 minutes for refills to come back out. Service was okay overall, just a bit slow during peak rush. Still, for the price point and AYCE format, it's a good deal. I'd come back, just with lower expectations on speed and pacing. 4 stars mainly for value.

Lowlights: they don't offer bbq - just hot pot. They only have 2 levels - $20 or $45. The basic meat is self-serve, but the premium meats came out all at once. There's a penalty for food waste. We got the premium option for hot pot dinner, all the meats came out at once already portioned for our group of 4. As nice as it is to not have to wait, it doesnt take into account that we would've wanted to pick and choose what to order and maybe abstained from some options to get refills of the options we did like. When the meats all come out at once, it's hard to know which is which. The only obvious distinguished proteins were the seafood, which is presented really nicely. The veggies/noodles/sauce bar weeds well stocked and had the typical toppings you want for your soup. For dinner, the restaurant seemed lean staffed, which was fine since it wasn't busy and we got seated in an obvious spot.
