I wanted to grab some quick Chinese food for lunch and happened across Mr You in the area. I walked in and was warmly greeted. I waited for somebody to take my order for only a minute, and she took my order very quickly. I was also so happy to see that she stacked my plate up to where it could barely close. While this was happening, I watched as another employee was double checking tables and wiping up to ensure that the restaurant stayed clean. It looked great inside. I was happy to be in and out in less than 5 minutes. Once I did get a chance to eat, I was very happy with my food. I got the combo A with spicy orange chicken and half chow mein/half fried rice. The food tasted very warm, and the noodles were the right amount of chewy. The spicy orange chicken was also good, with just a slight spice. Ok, I ordered out the # A Combo with Orange Chicken, fried rice, tempura shrimp (5 pieces), and 2 egg rolls. I ordered thru Grubhub via Amazon. First...I am NOT dumb, I got honey chicken and white rice instead, and it was...not great, and certainly had no tinge of orange taste to it, but certainly better than where I live now, so..mixed reactions there on food taste. Quality...definitely not happy, the rice in addition to the not being the FRIED rice I ordered was over cooked, it had a gelatinous taste of being made the day before instead of fresh. The worst was the tempura shrimp...it was VERY over cooked, so much so that the batter was rock hard and biting into one, i hurt a tooth! Just the same, after breaking the literal orange red shell of overcooked tempura shrimp to get at the fortunately still edible but small shrimp inside, hardly worth the $12 spent on this appetizer. I also had two egg rolls,both were insipid, little flavor, in fact they tasted like they were also made the day before. Would I try this place again? Maybe once, to see if they have improved, but not for any time in the future. read more

I wish I could give negative stars. Grant it we take a risk every time we eat out, leaving our health to strangers but restaurants have a duty to provide clean food and sanitary conditions. So I go to this location for lunch today 12/29/23, I place my order and pay and as I'm waiting I see one of the cooks transferring meat from one bucket to another contraption and he was hastily doing so I start filming because something told me this wasn't looking good. Sure enough he drops chicken pieces on the floor, quite a few pieces and without hesitation he picks up the meat from the floor and throws it into the contraption then puts the "clean" meat on top and proceeds with the transferring. AND IT'S AN OPEN KITCHEN! I'm looking right at this man! I IMMEDIATELY SAY GIVE ME BACK MY MONEY! The young lady who took my order looked baffled and the older woman looked just as confused, so I stated what I saw and they were looking unalarmed just giving blank stares. I feel my pressure raising due to lack of urgency or concern and I say about 4 more times GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK!!!! Then the older woman walks to the back of the kitchen and returns claiming she went said something to him, still calm and collected. She did apologize but there's no apology for that type of disgusting handling of food. I got my money back and exited quickly. But before exiting my husband now on the phone, I've since stopped filming, but he's hearing me say GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK and he is equally disgusted. And the sad part is I know they didn't throw away or wash the meat. When I walked to my car they were just standing around still unbothered so I know they didn't do the right thing by discarding the chicken, so unfortunately the next customer after me got the "Friday surprise". I had to get back to work so I couldn't stick around to warn others. Their lack of concern lets me know unsanitary practices happens here often. Then the cook who had started soup had the nerve to look irritated that I canceled my order. I looked him dead in the eyes while he asked repeatedly to the ladies if he should continue preparing the soup and I emphatically said NO, CANCEL! No wonder they have poor ratings. SMH. Update I reported it to the health department same day and of course they were in their best behavior so there was nothing much the investigator could do, I still have the video, but long as these nasty business owners know EYES ARE ON THEM I'll lay low. read more

Came in today craving some comfort food. Orange chicken is on that list for me. I was pleasantly surprised with the selection available and they even allowed us to taste test the items. We went with the family plan and everything was delicious. We had egg flower soup, short ribs, orange chicken, broccoli beef, mushrooms, noodles and fried rice. Everything was delicious! The workers are incompetent and they are ghetto people. The chinese worker lied and said she doesn't speak english, when the cops pulled up. I accidentally forgot my purse for a couple minutes. Then I see this camera footage of her coworker taking my purse to the back. And when I got it back, my bills were gone. She even lied and said she didn't see the purse at all. She really could have just asked for a tip, I would have voluntarily given her 50 but she really had to steal it. Plus my gift cards. Therefore I do not recommend this place. I love Mr You's food! I have been eating here for years. Today I went in, ordered my food, payed and the lady all but threw my change at me. I didn't comment , I then decided I wanted to order something else. So I proceeded to order an entirely different meal and she looked at me like it was a chore to sell me food. I asked for chopsticks, same treatment. I didn't speak to her besides ordering and paying and despite her insulting behavior I was extremely polite. I will never visit this establishment again. I have never been treated so rudely. I must give them 3 stars because the food was delicious like always. read more

They are awesome!!! I called 10 min before closing and I live on the east side of Hemet. I placed my order and told them I would drive as fast as I could to get there. There are NO Chinese takeout restaurants on this side of Hemet because of the coronavirus and I was craving Chinese food!!! I left my house and got there at 9:10, 10 min after they closed. They were so nice and had the front door open and my order ready!!! I tipped them just for that reason! I haven't tried the food yet but I'm sure it's delicious. They shorted me on the chow mein and rice but I don't mind. Thank you so much for being so nice during this time. I will definitely return :) read more

My family and I are frequent visitors of the other location, and I gotta say the other one is 10x better. I'm pretty sure it's the same owners because when this place first opened I remembered seeing some of the familiar faces. The food here is different, and by different I mean not as good. You can tell the teriyaki chicken has been there for a while and that it's not fresh. The chow mein was very dry but the rice was okay. We were eating here and there was a homeless person that was shirtless, barefoot and talking to himself. He was very dirty and had his hands all over the soda machine. While I felt compassion for him I was concerned about sanitation . The cook at Mr. You came out and shoo'd him out. I was saddened by this and wanted to take him food. I understood the necessity of getting him out of the restaurant but still. I'm talking with my husband about taking this man some food but then the cook came back out with food for the man. FRESH FOOD PLEASE... we started thru "Mr. You's" Buffet Line only to notice the food that had just supposedly been made was lacking in any sauce(s), appeared dried out with "Congealed, Gloppy, Sauce" on the sides of the tray. When we asked about fresh food, we were told "This is it!" "If you don't like it... YOU CAN GO!" So we left! FOOD POISONING FROM BAD CHICKEN from food left sitting in buffet style serving trays can be a legitimate problem, and clearly "Mr. You" does not seem to care. AVOID "MR. Horrible Rude employee who was serving adult students/staff that I was with, than she switched to cashiering so she would not have to serve us, than when we got to cashier she kept complaining "oh my god" and why 5 students were to many in line. I confronted her and told her how rude she was and she said it was because of a screaming child at a table in restaurant, which had nothing to do with students. I tried this place 3 times before writing the review. First time, was fresh made and absolutely amazingly delicious. I am talking about the orange chicken and spicy orange chicken. It was hot, fresh and had a crunch to it, that I love. Rice and chowmein are not my thing, but it was good. Second time, food was not as fresh and had no crunch was more soggy. It was still good, just not the super great! Third time, no bueno! Not fresh and all soggy. This is why it is so hard to eat Chinese other than Panda Express, because there is no consistency with the fod quality. I am not sure if I wil go back. As for the service it was okay, no complaints.
