I've been a loyal customer to this specific Optometry Office for decades. I would remember my mom taking my sister and I during the elementary and middle school days. At the time, my mom would give us limitations in terms of what frames we wanted to get (i.e., the cheaper options that were fully covered by insurance). Fast forward in time, I stopped coming to this office since I moved out of Pomona for college and would get my eyes checked near my college. Now, I am back in Pomona and decided to stick to this office. Very clean interiors and staff are always friendly. Excellent customer service and the staff's level of patience is tremendously the best. I usually meet with Dr. Le but on Friday I met with a different doctor (I'm assuming Dr. Liu?). Dr. Le's office is truly like a museum! Full of Bruce Lee action figures, Star Wars figures, and so much more! In terms of glasses frames, this place has it all, from affordable frames fully covered by insurance to the more expensive and lavish-branded ones (Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Prada, Tory Burch, MK, etc.). From all ends of the spectrum truly, and staff members will help you out and consult with you to make sure you are getting what you want and need. The Tiffany glasses I got 2 years ago was my most expensive frames purchase. On Friday, I spoiled myself and got Gucci. Cons: - The front desk team didn't do a great job explaining what the charges were and what my insurance covered. I guess that's partly on me for not asking more questions but asking for clarification once or twice and still not understanding their explanation I didn't really want to ask further - Didn't love the process of starting the exam with someone else where I had to take my contacts out followed by asking me to wait for the doctor back in the waiting room. I feel like once you have me take my contacts out it should pretty much be a seamless experience so one doesn't have to go to the waiting room not being able to see. - The charged me $86/box of contacts. I did 5 minutes of googling and see a wide range of prices but none that high. I found 5 sites that sell the same 1 box of contacts in the $40-$50 range, with some going lower when you buy more. It really felt like they're taking advantage of insurance by having me only pay $21/box and charging insurance the rest. Considering they billed insurance $130, I don't see any reason one should have to pay anything out of pocket for 2 boxes of contacts. Uncertain if I'll go back

Unfortunately, this experience has been extremely disappointing. After my purchase, I checked the Chanel website and discovered that the exact frame I bought was listed for $380, while this optometry charged me $525 for the frame alone. When I contacted them to ask about the price difference, they explained that it was due to additional charges and fees. They also claimed that the price was higher because they were able to accommodate my insurance, and that I only paid $220 out of pocket, which they presented as a better deal than the retail price. This explanation makes no sense to me. My insurance provides partial coverage; that does not justify inflating the frame's price. If the frame had been charged at the price listed on Chanel's official website, my out-of-pocket cost would have been significantly lower -- around $70, based on my understanding of my insurance benefits. What made the experience even more frustrating was that I called to discuss this issue and was promised a callback, but no one ever followed up. I understand that businesses have operating costs, but customers deserve transparent pricing and honest explanations, especially when insurance benefits are involved. I would strongly recommend checking the frame's retail price online before making a purchase here. Received a call a few days before the appointment reminding me about it and also stating again my VSP coverage was not found. I called back telling them I did not want this appointment anyway and I never figured out the VSP situation so you can cancel it. Fast forward to the day of the appointment and I receive an email stating I've been charged $40 for not showing. I called back again today asking why I was charged when I canceled and the guy put me on hold. I spoke to the guy for probably 30 seconds and was left on hold for over 3 minutes so I just hung up. This place sucks. The doctor seems pretty legit and the location was close to home which was the only reason I come back but other than that there's no reason to come here. The reviews for this place are all clouded by some giveaway scam they have as well. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Sucks.
