We went to another location as we wanted to go to a location that is close to us. This place is tiny and confusing as we went the wrong way going in. The inside is nice and clean. Does have an old feel to it though. They do have the salsa bar, but wished they did stock up and sauce more as looks like they were running low. The chips were good, but located on the other side which I found odd. Other than that I enjoyed the food. I ordered regio platter which comes with the al pastor, tortillas, beans and rice. I recommend getting the green salsa as that is good. Food is good, service is great no complaints read more

Bad overall service. Slowest service ever. Timely off. I order online for my employees lunch ahead of time when I arrived food was not ready. It was a 40 minute wait. Lunch was ruined. read more

I went here thinking I was going to El Pollo Loco but when I arrived I realized I was at the wrong place. But I stayed anyway. I did a whole chicken takeout. You get a whole chicken, cut into two halves, rice, beans, tortillas, and limes. The cost was $31 including tax in November 2023. The chicken is very flavorful with an adobo seasoning. The tortillas are excellent. The rice is excellent. The beans are spicy but very good. The reason for 4 stars is that the chicken could have been more tender. Service was fast. I was in and out in 5-7 minutes. Not much ambiance to speak of. The place seemed to be very popular with manual and skilled manual workers who came for lunch. read more

Food and Service was on point! Had 11 people to buy for on my crew, we walked straight up to the counter and made our order. Lady was very nice and helped me with the menu and order. Food was out within 10 minutes and hot and fresh. We ordered the two whole chicken cut up with sides of rice and beans. We also had 12 barbacoa tacos. Chips and dips and we paid 110.00. Although I thought the price was high for fast food it was well worth it. FatBoy Tip: don't go with the small bag of chips upgrade to the big bag, fresh crunchy and salted with a light seasoning and the salsa perfect combo for all day fatness... read more

This use to my number one spot for nachos. They have change staff so many times it's unbelievable.. So you know what that means The food and flavor is NOT the same they chips are always hard and burnt. I don't order from here anymore. If I do return I will update my review. read more

I was having a bad day and made a big deal with out actually checking my food. I was so impressed on how the manager handle it even though I was the one wrong. Food tastes amazing and is served fast, they also have really good service!! The environment is very quiet and peaceful.

My first trip in here and I was in a hurry. I was and still am a little uncertain of the name and ownership of this place. A few weeks ago, they painted over the signage. When I went in, they had "OPEN" over the painted over signage. On the menu board, everywhere with the name is now covered over. But the bags and receipt have El Pollo Regio logos. New Ownership? Left over supplies? With that said, the place was being worked upon, it was exceptionally clean. The background music was playing loudly and the TVs was on a Spanish speaking station. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They did answer menu questions and explained what comes with what. I was going to ask about the name but was in a rush. I ordered the half chicken to go. As it came time to pay the just under $10, they could not make change for a $20. After about 3 minutes of the staff trying to get change, I offered to pay with plastic. The food was good and I'll be back! I really loved the white corn tortillas and the flavor of the chicken. read more

My son and I dined in and felt VERY UNWANTED. I used to frequent the Duncanville location throughout my pregnancy and a few years afterwards and they treated us like family. I moved out to this area and was happy to see a Pollo Regio so close & excited to take my son and tell him memories of the past chomping down on some great roasted chicken. It's sad to feel the way we did, he mentioned this before I could even say what I was thinking as we were walking to the car. read more

Usually this place is really good. Quick and easy drive-thru experience. The chicken is to die for! Comes with warm tortillas, rice, beans, and the verde sauce is the best! However, I was feeling adventurous today and wanted to try the carne asada baked potato So disappointing, and the nacho cheese on it was gross! My boyfriend got the carne asada burrito, and he was disappointed as well. We ate less than half and threw the rest away unfortunately. Still giving three stars, because we'll be back for the chicken! read more

Alright, kids. I'm about to spill a secret I've been keeping. I know, I know...it isn't very Yelplike to keep a tasty discovery to myself. But I didn't want all of DFW visiting my find and making it impossible for me to visit. (See: Taco Joint) Since they're opening franchises all over the place, I figure it's safe to let the cat out of the bag. El Regio (pronounced Rekio) serves up smoked (I guess) chicken, on the very cheap, that will make you drool all over yourself. We can't really figure out what they marinade their birds in or how they turn the entire bird a lovely shade of spicy brown. Whatever. We try not to overthink it and just eat it. A whole chicken meal comes with a pile of white corn tortillas, rice, pinto beans (with bits of pork belly-werd!), salsa, 1/2 a lime, a whole grilled onion and the hottest, tastiest green tomatilla-ish sauce you will ever encounter for...wait for it...$12.99. This is no health food, people. This is down-home, home-grown, grease-pit side-of-the-highway food shack food. Just make sure you put the sack in the floorboard and not on your car seat for the drive home. Ignore the neighborhood that these gems usually live in, ignore the broken speaker and the broken English of the window girl. Ignore everything but the smell of heaven coming from the smokestack on the roof. Sweartagawd, El Regio will change your life. At least for a few hours. read more

Buen sazón, el pollo y las flautas están bien servidas. Los frijoles y el arroz están muy ricos.

The service was very good. The food was outstanding the restaurant was neat tidy and clean. Dariela was working at the cashier checkout, and she was very professional and outgoing. She also directed me to where the various sauces were and greeted me with a smile. Great personality from the time I walked in the door until the time I departed. Her customer service was second to none. I will definitely recommend this location to others, and I will be returning in the very near future for sure. Well Done. read more

I think its going to be an El Pollo Regio night...in fact, I can't believe I haven't reviewed this before!. Megan did a good job describing the fare...chargrilled chicken (cooked with that whole onion she mentioned inside), then they are kind enough to cut it up for you---the chicken that is, not the onion. The beans are more like a bean soup and are absolutely AMAZING, but don't pay too close attention, cuz there are some questionable cuts of pork floating around. The tortillas are excellent. The salsa is too hot to even comment on. It scares me in every way possible. The rice is non-descript rice, but not everything has to be a party does it? Looking forward to dinner! read more

It is the best chicken I have ever eaten and it has excellent service and the workers are very friendly

AWESOME five-star food in a one-star VERY HARD-USED building that could use a new roof and replacement for moldy ceiling tiles. We had the burrito pirata with beef, which is a lovely crispy cheesy beefy delight. It comes with rice, refried beans, sour cream, and guacamole. The large carne asada taco is off-menu but still available THANK GOD!! It's a favorite too, dressed with fresh onions and cilantro in authentic style. Because this large taco does NOT come with any sides, we usually order a bowl of borracho beans, a lovely soupy comforting side dish, a la carte. The chicken quesadilla comes LOADED with the roasted chicken that this place is justifiably famous for, with generous servings of guacamole and sour cream on the side. Try the green creamy salsa, but be warned that it is ADDICTIVE. Empanadas are made fresh daily in delicious flavours like cajeta, piña, queso, and fresa -- or caramel, pineapple, cream cheese, and strawberry in English. Pass up the beautiful display of Mexican candies by the register -- IF YOU CAN!! This local chain has many locations. Of all the ones we have tried, the Garland location is newest cleanest and most comfortable. read more

Fantastic rustic food, roasted chicken slurpy and wet with its own juices. Smoking hot habanero salsa that sneaks up on you. Metallic green goo sauce. Rice and Beans. Perfect corn tortillas. And that's just one menu item. Pollo Regio is across from Kellers which is a fine backup if one of the group gets cold feet. It's great food. We go to this location, and the one off of 35. Mmm. My favorite item is the pollo regio flagbearer, the whole chicken. I like to order it to take half home for leftovers. But I don't, I eat it all. Mmm. read more

My family and I we had the best experience ever pollo Regio great costumer service highly recommended

honestly idk what happened to pollo regio but quality has gone downhill. the employees were unprofessional and loud talking to each other on their phones (makes no sense, but ok? lol) which gave off a terrible feedback noise throughout the restaurant for most of my visit there, and the floors were extremely slippery which is an easy lawsuit for anybody coming in. don't get me started on the food which was awful i was really looking forward to having chicken since i had a taste for it only to be introduced to cold/dry chicken, cold sides, and cold tortillas. honestly the water was the best thing out of the whole experience. won't be dining from this location anytime soon. read more

Okay... Tried again due to proximity and my craving for a chicken burrito with nice warm and soupy charro bean side. This is a CHICKEN place so... Review: Restaurant - 2.5/5 - Still old and outdated but clean and internally managed well. Salsa Bar - 4/5 - Stocked but some salsas lacked flavor/salt. Seems to be consistent from prior visit with a wide variety of heat, textures and flavors. You can always add salt. I suggest a mix and match approach. Try them all and go from there. Staff - 4/5 - Cashier is all I met but seems knowledgeable and personable. Food - 1/5 - Terrible at BEST - I went burrito again but went with chicken. Let's just say it was so dry the shredded chicken was like dental floss, there was more tortilla than filling and just lacked flavor. I would have to believe this is 2 day old chicken or it was dreadfully overcooked and dry with no flavor profile. Maybe a hint of flame/smoke. There really was not enough meat to discern anything but dry, dry and well, dried out white meat chicken. Overall - 1.5/5 - Rounded up because someone is maintaining the place, it was 12:30 or so and stocked well, service was friendly and food service time is NOT fast food but it was several minutes to receive my to-go food. Bottom line - I would rather eat fast food that is consistently mediocre and less expensive. Please do not contact me regarding this as I am never going back to throw away $10 and remain hungry. read more

I love pollo regio, however; this location is disappointing. The wait is ridiculous. Without explanation, they close the window and make you wait for long periods of time.. I've been there about 3 times and it's always the same thing. I kept giving them a chance due to the convenience of location (they are 5 minutes away from where I work, so it SHOULD be a quick trip during my lunch break), but it always turns out in disappointment. For some reason the same girl is always working, and she's slow. She doesn't talk to you, she just mumbles. Although I've never been impressed with their service, it has never been enough disappointment for me to sit here and write an essay. However, the last time I visited I had enough. They made me so upset, that I started writing this review during my long wait. I saved it as a draft, and I'm finally finishing it. So this is what happened..... I was driving up and the same girl that is always there taking orders was walking around with one of the cooks (this was outside by the way). She appeared to be annoyed that I interrupted her flirting session when I pulled up to the drive through. She made me hold while she made her way inside. She finally took my order and I went up to pay. while I was paying, she kept yelling back and forth with the cook. After I payed she closed the window, and I waited for 13 minutes. Yes, I kept count. I was the only car in the drive through... What could have taken that long? When the window finally opened it was the cook who handed me the food. No apologies.... nothing. I just drove off since I did have to get back to work.. Not only did I wait for so long, also the girl is so slow she couldn't even get my whole order. I did not have time to try to get through to her, so I ignored it. I was just going to take what she was able to get on my order... The food at this location is never up to the standards of other pollo regios... It's ok. Not good, but just ok. If you want to try good regios, try a better location first. Or if you tried this one already, give a different location a chance! read more

Great chicken, a monthly staple for dinner at our house. If you're not sure due to the somewhat rough exterior, just give it a try and you'll be back. The whole chicken meal is enough to feed two adults and two kids, and it's always juicy and flavorful. The tacos are great, small corn tortillas with meat, cilantro, diced onion and limes. Sometimes the drive through is a little slow but that's the only complaint. I had to update, they have horchata, jamaica aguas frescas, and Mexican Coke in bottles (in addition to all the regular fountain drinks) - the perfect beverages to go with your tacos or torta. read more

Oh my goodness, this place is a gem! I've been here a couple of times all for takeout and this place has never disappointed.
