This use to be the best Peruvian Rotisserie restaurant In all of SGV... no longer. What happened, maybe change of ownership. Finally found a decent Peruvian place that is so close by. Heard about this in SGV eats group and decided to try this last Wednesday. Called and preordered the whole chicken meal for $23 and the lomo saltado. This place specialized in their chicken though. You can see the chicken rotating in the grill by the outside window. The whole chicken meal came with 2 sides, we got the cole slaw and the rice. The lomo saltado came with rice and the beef was cooked with fries, onions and tomatoes. The chicken had a unique taste, nothing like the usual rotisserie chicken you get from costco or the market. Probably peruvian seasoning which was pretty flavorful and tasty. The rice was flavored rice as well. I liked the lomo saltado...been craving this for a while. The beef was cooked just right not overcooked. The onions added to the flavor. I will definitely be back. Everything cost about $40. They also gave me lots of hot sauce and parley sauce. I only complain is they cut the chicken into 4 pieces. Would prefer if they can cut it into smaller pieces to share. it's located in the Food 4 less plaza so there is plenty of parking. They had social distancing and everyone was wearing masks. My order was ready when I got there 15 minutes later. The only thing is it's one line to place order and pick up. Service was good. Will definitely be back to try to chicken soup and pasta. read more

Esme was the kind woman who helped me out! It was my first time here and I wanted to try the Caldo De Pollo initially, but saw the Aguadito de pollo and was conflicted. I then asked Esme for her recommendation but she kept it real with me and asked her co-worker what her preference was, which was the aguadito! The difference is that the aguadito has chicken gizzards, love that but wasn't in a mood, so I ended up doing the Caldo. Fooking amazing. Thank you so much to the employees here!! read more

Ive been coming here for the past three years and usually have never had a problem. However what I have noticed is when the owners arent there, service and quality all go down hill extremely quickly. My order today was given zero care as seen in my posted pics. Also while I understand they are trying to operate during the pandemic, they do not follow their own rules posted on their door. They said they only allow 3 people in at once, but while waiting for my order outside, they consistenly had 4-6 people inside at once. When I brought this up to the cashiers, they just smirked and laughed at me. Im disappointed that the owners has decided to hire these unprofessional and rude girls to man their cashier. I miss the owners and hope they are healthy, but right now, their employees are running their business to the ground and exposing their customers unnecessarily to COVID. I would stay away from here until the pandemic is over since they are unable to operate safely. read more

Ordered the pollo saltado. It was about $17 but we'll worth the value. The rice was made like in the hainan chicken style with chicken broth. Chicken was tender and stir fry was good. So it also came with four tortillas. But the star of the show was the sauces they provided. The guaillo sauce was spicy and good. The pico was flavorful with definite scent of oregano. The chimmichurri sauce was good and flavorful. But the aji sauce was like crack sauce. So I made bunch of tacos with each sauce and that was good but then had no more tortillas and then decided to put all the spices together...damn that was good. I was a frocking idiot not making all the tacos with all the sauces mixed together. Definitely will be going back but ate so much lunch did not have to eat dinner. read more

The San Gabriel Valley needs a good Peruvian restaurant. And Pollo Mania is it. Located in a blue collared neighborhood Pollo Mania is in the middle of a strip mall. Don't let the nondescript unpretentious exterior fool you, it hides solid eats. When ordering it has more of a fast food feel with a counter and register. The Pollo Saltado will set you back $14, but the portions are large and did I mention the food was good? With the rotisserie oven turning whole chickens in the front window, I figured the pollo would be a hit. Sure enough it was juicy, moist, tender, and seasoned just right. The Pollo Saltado had a nice smokey flavor only a wok can add. Moreover the rice had a nice twist, tasting much like the Chinese Hunan Chicken rice that is cooked with chicken fat. It was smart of them to use the juices from the rotisserie. I was at the only other Peruvian place in the area just yesterday in the City of Industry. The dine-in restaurant had nicer decor but as far as food goes.... I can say without a doubt this place is FAR better. Give this place a try, you won't regret it. This is our go-to spot for solid Peruvian eats! It's always lomo saltado for the hubs, and I get either the pollo saltado or tallarin with chicken. The sauces are phenomenal and change up eat bite depending on which one you use. The service is quick, but I always call ahead. My order is always hot and ready for pickup when I arrive. Slave girl and I were running errands in the area and couldn't decide where to go for lunch. After some debating back and forth, we decided to get some Peruvian chicken at Pollo Mania. Be aware, on a Friday during lunch time, the parking lot was super packed even though they had a huge lot. Everyone in the lot was driving like student drivers so be very focused when you maneuver around. You have been warned. Inside the restaurant, there were plenty of seats but all the seats were taken. I guess that was a good sign. The restaurant was counter service only and since it was packed, finding a table after ordering was a little challenging for us. The restaurant had plantain chips and lucuma ice cream to sell on top of the menu items. There was also a simple salsa bar available for adding more flavors to the food. The red pepper one packed with plenty of heat, even I had trouble to keep up after one little cup. I ordered 1/2 chicken with 2 sides, and slave girl got lomo saltado burrito since she thought it would be cheaper in a burrito form. Wrong, the poster didn't show price but it was exactly the same price as the regular order at $12.25. We thought about getting the chicken soup too but decided we already ordered too much. The half chicken came with 2 pieces, one with thigh and leg, and the other with breast and wing. Both skin and meat were seasoned with lots of flavors and meat was very tender. I couldn't find anything bad about the chicken other than I couldn't stop eating it. I picked fries and slaw as my sides and the slaw was refreshing. The burrito was huge and made fresh. I could see the flames going up in the kitchen area, love it. Lomo saltado was tasty here and the sauce was fully soaked by the rice and fries. The only thing I didn't like was the burrito got all wet and soggy on the bottom because of the sauce. It was nearly impossible to hold it in my hand to finish the thing and deconstructing was the only way to finish off this monster. The most interesting thing was the aji sauce here. It was brown versus the usual agreen (as I usually refer it as the green crack sauce), but the taste was still similar. I also like the green onion oil with chicken. Overall I really like this place. They had chicken in their restaurant name and sure enough, the chicken was amazing. If you haven't tried it yet, make your way out for some Peruvian love. read more

Amazing amazing amazing! The food here is everything you would expect it to be! I have been coming here for years and I have never been disappointed! My favorite food to order is pollo or lomo saltado! And must I say, the service has never disappointed. I always order extra sauces and have always been accommodated for my request with smiles. The ambiance and overall experience will make you feel like you are in another country which makes this hole in the wall restaurant so special. I rarely give five stars because I think restaurants and anyone in general always have room for growth but this place meets all my criteria of food, service, ambiance, and cleanliness. I am still salivating thinking about our recent trip to Pollo Mania. It was our first time having Peruvian food! Lomo saltado ($11.99) - 5/5 This dish was basically the best steak slices you'll ever have with tomato wedges, onions and fries. Don't hate on the fries in this dish until you've tried it. I don't think they fry them because they were so soft and delicious (not like when you get fries at a fast food joint where they are crispy). The portion for lomo saltado is quite large! It comes with a side of rice and tortilla. It's large enough to share. Chicken soup (large $6.49) - 5/5 They reference their take out containers for sizes and the large wasn't that big. We ordered it to eat there and then bowl was huge! I was impressed by how moist the chicken was. Not only was there a lot of chicken, there was also a good portion of veggies too! The soup also came with a side of rice and tortilla! Passion fruit drink - 5/5 I'm not exactly sure how they make it, but it looked like agua fresca. If you love passion fruit, you'll love this drink! My husband got the corn drink. I only had a sip. It seemed interesting, but I would not have traded him for my passion fruit one!! The atmosphere is kind of whole in wall, but the complex itself is very popping and there are stores to visit if you have time. I can't wait to come back! read more

They specialty is Pollo a la Braza but I still decided to order Lomo Saltado. The service was quick even though they were kind of busy. You must place your order and pay at the counter then your number is called when ready. The Lomo Saltado was good with a normal amount of steak and lots of fries. I had Mt parents go order food yesterday and I'll never go there again. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. The chicken was not good. It was dry small tasteless and on top of it all overpriced. If it had tasted good I wouldn't complain but it tasted terrible and there's far better places within a 15 min radius that have quality chicken. That being said I won't go there ever again and if I could give less than 1 star I would because not even the potato tasted good. Nothing we ordered was to our liking and this is not peruvian food! Pollo Mania makes my favorite Peruvian rotisserie chicken in all of LA! I've bought from here a dozen of times ever since I discovered this place. Their chicken is always juicy and not dry. I like it with their chimichurri sauce which I always request and I usually ask them not to give me the other sauces since I only care for the chimichurri. From their menu, I've tried their chicken, chicken bowl, soups, chicken sandwich and the pionono. They also make their fries from scratch! I haven't really tried any of their Peruvian dishes like lomo saltado, I just come for the chicken. The soups remind me of home. It's nothing extraordinary but I don't really know where else to get these types of soup. They sell a Latin dessert called Pionono. Was excited when I noticed they sell it because I love piononos. Sometimes it feels a bit dry but nothing a few seconds in the microwave won't fix! You should definitely try it if you like manjar. They are closed on Tuesdays. Great Peruvian chicken in El Monte. Well, they aren't Peruvian (I mean, they give you tortillas) but the rotisserie chicken has great flavor and the chimichurri green herb sauce is on point! I could've had this with chicken on top alone. I got HALF A CHICKEN $9.25 for myself. I know, what a beast. But this dish was so huge I got to take half home. It can feed 2 people, since it comes with two side dishes. I got rice which was delish! (I think it must be the chicken fat) and fries because... yes. I think what turns people off most is that chicken breast can be dry. Not here, they must've injected that breast with fat juice and massaged it all night for it to be so juicy even after reheating. My friend got the soup, which was good too. Soothing, full of vegetables (too much cabbage though) and chicken. Came with a side too. About $7. The sauce bar is tiny, with two salsas/pico de gallo. The chimichurri is separate and they will provide it with your chicken only. This place is your sort of fast food establishment so super casual. read more
