I saw the noodle dish, which looked interesting. The delicious flavor on the noodles, chunks of beef, onion, vegetables, sauce. My wife got the burrito, which was basically the flour wrapped tortilla version of my dish. She is not partial to eating large marinated onions, but other than this, she thought it was tasty. It's located in the same plaza as Food 4 Less and El Pollo Loco. Parking gets crazy around lunch time. I usually call in my order and take it to-go since it's more of a hole-in-the-wall spot. My order is usually ready by the time I get there, but depending on how busy they are it may take a while. At least you know your food is made fresh! My go-to order is the 1/4 chicken combo. For less than 10 bucks you can get a generous quarter chicken with two sides. I usually get their rice and fries. Their fries are potato-ey and perfect with their aji sauce (orange sauce, has a great kick!) The chicken is perfectly seasoned and juicy. Again, it'll make your breath stink but it's so worth it! =P I also love drenching my rice in their chimchurri (green sauce). Their Lomo Saltado is also another favorite. Think "Peruvian carne asada fries." It comes with a generous amount of perfectly seasoned meat, potatoes, red onions, tomatoes and rice. They even have a lomo saltado burrito! read more

Pollo Mania has the best lomo saltada/pollo saltada that I have tried around my area. The beef and chicken are cooked tender and perfectly. The flavors are all there and I like how you can separate the potatoes from the meat so the potatoes don't get too soggy. I just love Peruvian food. The service was good and efficient. WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER! This is my go-to spot for lunch during my break at work. They have the most delicious wood roasted Peruvian rotisserie chicken! This place is very comparable to Mr. Pollo in West Covina. The meat is moist and juicy and the prices are amazing for the portion size. They have lunch specials but I usually get a medium chicken soup for $5, that comes with a side of rice, tortillas, cilantro/onions, and salsa. The soup consists of huge chunks of fresh chicken, carrots, cabbage, and potatoes. I'm a huge soup lover and I find myself craving this soup on a weekly basis! I have yet to try the other items on the menu but the 1/4 chicken special with two sides for $7 is a great deal as well! read more

I'd give this place 0 stars if I could. I went in 3/10 and got a lomo saltado. 4 hours after I consumed my food I started experiencing terrible stomach cramps and nausea. I could barely even walk because of how much pain I was in. I ended throwing up every single piece of food I ate from here. Including every liquid that was in my stomach. Throughout the night my stomach was literally killing me. I ended up calling my cousin whom I went with, and guess what? She asked me if I got food poisoning too. If you want to have the worst night of your life, throw up the $40 you spent on food, want someone who doesn't wash their hands handling your food, go here. We usually drive to Mamita Peruvian Restaurant in Burbank or Misky Misky Cocina Peruana and Mr Pollo in West Covina. All of them are pretty good but I just hate driving in traffic. I found this place on Yelp and was pretty excited to give it a try. El Monte is a short drive from where I live. The restaurant is located in a plaza so there is plenty of parking options. The restaurant is pretty small and definitely don't expect anything fancy. We tried their Lomo Saltado and their Rotisserie Chicken Combo (1/2 a chicken). The lomo saltado was amazing! The beef was really tender and very flavorful. It was packed with flavor! The chicken itself was really moist and tender. The combo comes with two sides and I got the rice and the beans. The rice in the lomo saltado and the chicken were amazing!!! Super flavorful rice. The only thing missing here was a sauce bar with the green (aji) sauce and chimichurri sauce. They do have a salsa bar with pico de gallo and hot sauce only. The food comes with a small pack of hot sauce and chimichurri but I want that aji!!! read more

The spicy orange aji sauce is fantastic! Mix it with mayo to lower the heat if you must. Quick side rant: Please for the love of god why SF doesn't have one single spot for Peruvian Pollo a la brasa to go type cheap eats or under $12?! I know about Limon Rotisserie in the Mission blah blah blah organic Mary's chickens! This was our first time trying this place and it is so good! We tried the whole chicken, Pollo saltado, Lomo saltado and Maracuya. The whole chicken comes with tortillas and 4 different sauces. The saltado come with tortillas too. The food was so good that we ordered more to take home. The chicken is super juicy and flavorful! Both saltados were delicious too. The cole slaw is really great, we bought a whole chicken + 2 side dishes and out the door was about $27 including a tip. Very flavorful and unique spices, not hot, but it came with a wonderful amount of small spice dipping sauces.
