Was excited about this place opening in the neighborhood but the service was poor. My husband and I opted for a late meal and walked into the restaurant a little before 930pm. Was never greeted by the employee who walked by us several times before standing in front of the register to take our order only to tell us the only food we could order was the fried chicken that had been sitting out for who knows how long. And that we couldn't order anything else because that's all they had ready and they closed in 30 mins. Big disappointment to say the least. read more

A great alternative to the typical fast food chicken places. The chicken is tender and unusually moist, both the grilled and fried versions. The fried chicken is very crispy outside and does not leave you with that heavy greasy feeling. Be sure to squeeze the lime on the citrus grilles chicken. All the sides I have tried were very good. The cole slaw has a different taste than what you are accostomed to here, very creamy but not heavy with mayonaisse. The Campero beans were very good, with just the right kick, and thankfully not sweet like many bean side dishes in Texas. The yucca fries are a welcome change from from your run-of-the-mill fries, and are really crispy and delicious. There are 8-10 large cut pieces per serving. Don't be fooled. This is not a Mexican restaurant, but from Central America. There are subtle differences that you will enjoy, like the citrus seasonings. The service was very efficient and friendly. Some reviews complain about the time to order and get served. I say, if you want super fast food, go to McDonald's or KFC, and forgo the better tasting and more nutritious meal you will get here. We were excited to try this place as it is right in our neighborhood. My husband ordered chicken and I ordered empanadas. The chicken empanadas were good. The chicken was very cold and the tortillas on the side were very cold (inedible). While we began eating our meal we observed that other customers were also complaining of cold food. The service is at best level 1. If they improve their service and also ensure the chicken is served warm this place could be great. I really hope they train their employees! read more

Fried chicken is on point! Love the crispy skin and tender meat. Served on proper plates and they got horchata! And it's a fast food joint!

I've eaten here a couple of times and the quality has been consistenly better than 2017. I *think* they are under new management. All food is served on real plates and silverware, a step up from a normal fast food place and I can say without a doubt the fried chicken is the best you'll have in any fast and/or fast casual place. Super flavorful baked chicken. Ok restaurant and staff. I tried Pollo Campero at the elite yelp Christmas event and wanted to visit my local store. I don't live close but since I was in the area I stopped by. The restaurant was packed and it took a long time to get my food. Even though I had to wait the chicken was delicious! Well seasoned, tender and I'm hooked. I wish one was closer. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was fairly clean. I say fairly because the tables needed to be wiped down but other than that it was fine. I didn't try the fried chicken, but I plan to! read more

Went to pollo campero and waited in line for a little over 15min because the guy at the register was very slow. We finally get up to the register and he tells us they are out of chicken and that it would take 30 minutes for them to make some more and how we shouldn't order it because it's a very long wait. What kind of chicken restaurant runs out of chicken!? Instead of having us wait in line for such a long time they should have announced they were out of chicken! Im sad to write the previous reviews are pretty accurate. We actually love pollo campero but this place is giving pollo campero a bad name. The person responsible for training these employees before they open should be let go. My husband ordered 5 camperitos with rice and we received frys instead, they did correct this for us. I order the grilled chicken bowl and unlike other pollo campero locations, the chicken I received in this bowl consisted mainly of chicken skin and bits of cartilage. Not very tasty unless that's your thing. I would post an image of this but I'm sure it would in fact gross a certain percentage of you out. read more

I went through the drive thru and had to wait for a while. The grilled chicken sandwich was very flavorful and tasty, the side of fries cold. The chicken bowl was good, minus the chicken which was hard. The side of plantains were kind of cold but well cooked. The tortilla soup was good. Besides Chik-Fila, I don't usually love fried chicken. But this place, THIS PLACE is the best!!! Fried perfectly, tender and full of flavor. The sides are all really good. The fried chicken wasn't cooked in hot enough oil and was greasy. Sides were good. My mom left her purse here and we called twice to see if she left it there. Both times we were told that it wasn't there. My parents ended up driving in a giant rain storm to check for themselves. The company I work for orders from this location every Saturday, and I never get a complaint! The food is always delicious and prepared in a timely manor. We all love it so much that we keep ordering on a weekly basis. We usually order fried and grilled chicken, the fried being more popular, as well as sides. We were optimistic coming to try this place... maybe a little too optimistic haha. Overall it was decent. Nothing too special but not the worst chicken place I've been to. The main problem was the service. It seemed to me that's this place was new and the staff want fully aquatinted with efficiency or accommodation. We came in with some meal coupons and we were told that the coupons could only be used 1 per two people. There was no mention of that on the coupon by the way. Talking to the manager helped clear things up, but it seemed unnecessary and definitely could have been avoided. When the 3 piece chicken meals came out, I wasn't too impressed. They were decent but not worth 8 dollars. I've worked at a fried chicken place before so I could tell by the darkness of the chicken skin that the oil needed changing. But considering I'm not a very picky eater I couldn't find it in my heart to rate this place lower than 3 stars. I will say that the Latin drinks were bomb especially the horchata! read more

I was very excited to go. The building is new, nice and clean. Parking is a plenty. It was very crowded as it was opening day and we were there a lunch time. Found a parking space very quickly. Easy access to the building. Order was taken promptly and we recieved the food right away. If you dine in, you get actual plates and silverware. No paper. They even come around and ask if you need a refill. They also came around and took our plates away. The food order arrived correctly-exactly as we had ordered it. The inside is pretty decent, imitation wood tiles, and some booth and open seating. Tables are stocked with two types of hot sauce, Picamas and Cholula. The line was long and there was only one person taking orders and when you got to the front after waiting for 20 minutes or so there was a small sign on the cash register that said cash only. Shouldn't that have been up on the menu board so that when you look up to decide what you would like to order you will be warned that it's a cash only day therefore you should leave rather than waiting line and waste your time if you don't have cash or were expecting to pay with a credit card? The food was not that great and you got very tiny pieces of chicken for the price which was kind of expensive for what you get. I guess I just repeated myself, didn't I?
