Good afternoon, Let me start out by saying each time I visited one of your restaurants I've always had a good experience up until this one. I ordered from this location (Rowlett Rd, Garland, TX) because it is near my office. Usually when I make an online order, I'm able to pick it up at the drive through with no problem. I experienced extreme mistreatment that seemed intentional by a young male greeter at the drive-thru window. I ordered from this location twice in one week only to experience the same dismissive attitude by the same greeter at this location. I had to get out of my vehicle and wait in the lobby for over 30 minutes the second visit; to experience the same poor customer service with the same young kid. As I was waiting on my order, I saw customers come and go, as I was the ONLY customer that was obviously waiting for my order. About 40 minutes later, I went to the counter to ask for a manager. It appeared the manager was in the area, saw what was going on and politely listened to my concerns, he made the order right by apologizing, making the order over again and also offered a refund. I understand that staffing has become a problem in recent years because I am a business owner, but the one BAD APPLE can make a huge impact on your business! read more

I always order half a chicken and grab unlimited chips and salsas! I suggest you try them all the salsas, they're all flavorful and some spicier than others. This place doesn't look like much but their flavors pack a punch. It looks like your typical fast food place but it's more than that. I had the Carne Asada and it had a good flavor and filled me up well. They also had some kind of queso like sauce you can put over them which was OK and extra heat if you want it hot. BEST POLLOS ASADOS IN DALLAS!! We LOVE El Pollo Regio, and this location especially! There are multiple EPRs in Dallas. They have expanded by snapping up older or obsolete former chain restaurant buildings in varying conditions. Therefore, the quality of the various facilities they are in can range from new and clean to old and shabby. This restaurant was built new by EPR, and it is by far our favorite. Clean, open, airy, spacious -- we love this location. But the best part is, of course, the food! Everything we have gotten here has been delicious -- Pollos Asados are the specialty -- fat roasted chickens marinated and rubbed all over in a delicious spice mix of chile, cumin, and lime before being roasted to perfection. The do beef here too -- Carne Asada is always tender and flavorful. Ditto the Tacos al Carbon and Quesadilas. Tortas always have a generous amount and the Teleta bread they are served on is fresh and tender. And the green salsa here -- ADDICTIVE!! creamy avocado and Serrano chile lacks a punch but it's so delicious you can't stop eating it!! They used to sell it in bottles, but sadly have stopped :( The 2 whole chicken meal for $28 sounds expensive, but these chickens are HUGE, and this meal will easily feed a family of 4 for a week. My best friend took me here a few years ago for some Mexican food. Since then, I have came here and there for some Mexican food. For my first time, I was unable to read the menu because it was in Spanish so my friend ordered for me. I ordered the quesadilla (my friend called me "American" for ordering it) but it was sooo good. Even though it was so "Americanized" it was probably one of the best quesadillas I've had so far. The second and third time I went, I ordered tacos, the third time I ordered their baked potato. No matter what I ordered, they give you an awesome serving size (I seem to always walk out with a to-go box) and everything is delicious. They have great hot sauce. If you don't speak Spanish, this place is a nightmare. The last two times through the drive thru, I've tried to order the "2 grilled sausages" listed under "Sides." Apparently this is heard by the nice young woman as "2 green sauces." Today, I went back and forth trying to communicate I wanted the sausages. Finally, she got another employee who explained that they don't actually carry the sausages though they are on the menu. I said ok now that I finally understood, and then I ordered dessert empanadas. She told me they had caramel, pineapple, or cheese. I ordered caramel and paid my bill. As I signed the receipt, she told me they didn't have caramel. There was no way I was going to sit and try to communicate that I wanted a refund for the empanadas. So I have two empanadas I don't want and none of the sausages I do want. It's too bad. Visited last night while my son was getting a haircut. The very small and/or shriveled chicken was unbelievably dry. Almost as if the cook left the chicken on the grill too long. Or it was so small that it had very little meat on it. Between my husband and I we were able to finish it. When we buy the chicken on Samuell we can barely eat half the chicken between both of us. Chicken is what you specialize in- it should be on point- not miss the point completely. I was too tired and hungry to even take it back and go through that annoyance. So much so that hubby asked me to get something else and I just did not want to have to wait and seethe to wait longer. That is what 14 hours of a workday does to you. The rice? This is my second favorite El Pollo Regio location. Words cannot express how much I love their chicken. The price is affordable, especially for the quality and amount of chicken there is. Flavor soaks through the entire bird, down to its bones, and the skin is crispy, juicy, and rubbed with Mexican seasoning that is charred on the grill. The whole chicken also comes with a side of red bean soup, and my my my it is heaven. Although it is on the salty side, that side dish is the only bean dish I eat. It works perfectly with the dirty rice (also a side dish that comes with the meal). Every component is tied together with that green salsa, which is not too spicy, from the mini salsa bar. I had the chicken quesadilla and ghetto beef tacos. Both kinds of meat were semi-dry but did have a lot of flavor. The tacos were much better tasting than the quesdadillas. Along with the tacos came parsley and both grilled and plain white onions. The actual taco tortillas were flavorful and did not disappoint. You can actually taste the corn and a hint of lard. They didn't skimp on the green sauce at all. Just the right amount of spiciness. The pico-de-gallo was very fresh. Fresh with a healthy helping of jalapenos. And was the largest Pollo Regio I had ever seen with a large well-appointed inside dining area and outside patio. Traditional mexican decor. Service wonderful. Food tasty and made fresh. I had a love affair with the churros con cajeta (milk candy/caramel) during that time. Try them. Food made to order. We had burrito pirata with chicken, Taquitos with beef and pork, poblano mole, chicken quesidillas and guacamole. All great. Most come with rice and beans.
