This is the second time I've visited this location (and the first time was long ago). We'd been seeing the TV ads for the $60 chicken tender special, and it looked so good we wanted to try it. We got there about 12:20 on a Saturday. We went inside and were the fourth in line at the front counter. (The "order here" ipad wasn't working). There was no one at the register. It appeared that all employees were working for the drive-through. One gal glanced over at the counter once and sort of grimaced, but said nothing, no "be with you in a minute," "sorry for the delay," NOTHING. We all just stood there like idiots while we were completely ignored. After 5-6 minutes we gave up and went next door to Olive Burger. I realize that lunch time is busy for a fast food place, but to be completely ignored while we're standing there in the restaurant is insulting - and guarantees that we won't return. read more

So disappointed in our food tonight! We ordered 4/4 piece dinners. The chicken strips were anorexic, gravy runny and mashed potatoes cold. We will try they the Garland location but Richardson location was horrible!!!! read more

I've been a regular customer, and my orders usually came with ketchup or BBQ sauce at no extra charge. Recently, I was told I had to pay extra for the sauce, which was disappointing. On top of that, I was asked to wait about 10 minutes while other customers were being served first, and no one explained the delay or acknowledged me. The service was frustrating and not what I've come to expect from Golden Chick. I hope this location can improve its customer service and be more consistent with its policies. Very disappointed. I don't think I'll be coming back to this location. read more

Finally tried the breakfast food. While it didn't look very pretty, it was pretty darn tasty! Worth the try and I look forward to trying the breakfast burritos! read more

Golden Chick never disappoints. I love the fish and the spicy chicken tenders. My little one recently discovered their warm rolls with honey and he's been asking for "Chicken Golden" every other day. lol Clean tables, good service. A little pricey, but what isn't nowadays? read more

I'm allergic to chicken, but love their rolls! Saw that they offer breakfast and a few non chicken items. Had the breakfast burrito. It comes with eggs, bacon, sausage and cheese. Would not recommend. The eggs were cubed and dry...far from scrambled and fluffy. The meats had no discernable flavor and the cheese was American. Ordered the combo which comes with hash rounds and a drink. The rounds tasted like a Long John Silvers restaurant smells. Gross. This tells me that they do not change their oil nearly enough. The coffee was also not good. The only creamer option is the original flavored coffee mate. read more

Had to try the Fletcher's corn dog since the State Fair of Texas is cancelled due to Covid-19. And it was pretty darn good. So convenient to order in the drive through line. Just missing the ambiance of standing in Big Tex's shadow. The fried chicken and fried okra is really good too! read more

Had high expectations with this visit since it's right down the street from the home office. Food was great and most of the staff was great. I say most because the man taking orders and apparently having to work behind the counter was not a happy person. He kept rushing customers to hurry and order because he had other things to do. He would yell back to the kitchen "I will be there as soon as I can". He would clap his hands and say "come on let's go next customer". He wasn't horrible but you could tell he was put off by being short staffed I would assume. I hope he isn't the manager or he may be in the wrong business. read more

Four stars for four reasons: 1) The black dude working the register was very kind 2) The food was awesome for a fast food joint (chicken tenders dipped in Lotta Zing, eaten with a yeast roll--yum!) 3) Free soft serve 4) Golden egg machine GC is a great local fast food chicken joint chain for those who like the simple things in life! read more

12-21-2022 Golden Chick on Arapaho Total disaster. Buffalo wings were horrible. Really nasty. Just a cold soggy mush of orange goop and lots of broken chicken bones. This was completely inedible and disgusting. I was really looking forward to the Buffalo wings. So much so that I ordered extra. All in the trash bin. It was like they have been sitting in this nasty cold sauce for hours and the crispy fried part has broken down to orange mush. How do you break nearly every bone? That's a real mystery. Bone fragments throughout. We threw this disgusting meal away. Only good part was the chicken salad and the rice. We used to Love GC. I'm pretty much done. Very sad. Lost a loyal family. Left review and feedback online and on app. Not a peep. Been a week. Yeah. No care at all. Glad to be done. read more

I bought The Mixer, which includes fried chicken, chicken strips, 3 sides and rolls. That was more than enough for the party of five in our group. The chicken itself was good but too salty!! The highlight were the rolls (amazing!). The sides: mashed potatoes and mac n cheese were not good, poor quality and would not order again. read more

For fast food fried chicken, I'm actually liking Golden Chick. I've never seen them anywhere before moving to Dallas. Sure, I'll say that it's no Super Chix (which I do love), but this is a fried chicken place, and not so much a chicken sandwich place. And yes, I'm aware that they offer rotisserie chicken too, but I haven't bothered with that, because of all the southern items in the menu making me think I should go with fried. The yeast rolls are good, the fried chicken are good, and the menu offerings are good. Even the seating atmosphere inside is pretty nice for a fast food place. So what is there to complain about? Service maybe? I don't care, not in a fast food place - but even so, I didn't encounter bad service eating inside. But overall, I thought Golden Chick can compete well with the other national fried chicken name brands (Church's, KFC, Popeye's, etc). So yeah, I'm giving a good review for this fast food joint. Just cuz I can. And you Dallasites better be proud of your state homegrown chain. read more

Golden Chick - two piece fried chicken deal - Fast Food Near Me - Richardson, Texas

I wanted to see what the hype was about. I ordered two 4 piece golden tender combos (spicy). One with mac & cheese and gravy, the other with fries and honey mustard. I was so so disappointed. It looked like someone had just tossed spicy seasoning on top. More in the box than on the chicken. It was clumped up in the corners. There was no honey mustard sauce to be seen, even though I clearly ordered it, asked her if my sauce was inside my box and she said yes it is. I attempted to eat the gravy but the consistency was extremely runny and it had small white lumps in it. The mac and cheese had no flavor at all and the tenders weren't exactly moist. The best part of the combos was the sweet yeast roll and drink! I tried calling the number on the receipt. It just rang but I wasn't surprised. It was a complete waste of my money and time. That was my first and last visit to Golden Chick. read more

Uncooked chicken sandwich, no gravy in my mashed potatoes, raspberry lemonade is not sweet at all, also dry ass rolls. Tried calling the manager at the restaurant but the number didn't go through, voicemail apparently isn't set up so I couldn't leave a message for a callback. I live a bit far from this location so unfortunately because I just got the kids settled into bed, I can't just get back up and go back to this location and get my refund. Ordered online, delivered by Door Dash. Order short 3 corny dogs. Called Golden Chick - they said, you want to pick them up? No, I just paid for delivery. There's nothing we can do, we don't know who delivered your order. I called Door Dash - they said nothing they can do, order prepared by Golden Chick, they just pick it up. So, I swung over to Golden Chick for lunch because the library was not opened yet. Luckily, it was advertised Free WiFi, but when asked for the password, the poor young female cashier had no idea and asked the manager and she said, there is no password? Only two stars because they were nice but this is the second incident I've had with location in less than a week. First issue, I ordered breakfast and my entire order was incorrect but they did offer to fix it. Today, I go through the drive thru on my lunch break. I was told to pull ahead for my food, I had to go inside because I waited 15 mins and no one had brought me my food yet. I get the food and it wasn't fresh. So what was I waiting for? The outside appearance of this establishment doesn't scream "come inside". However, the food is another story. I have never been disappointed in the food. The chicken is great and so is the green beans - I know, right. Why am I commenting on the green beans at a chicken place? What sets this GC location apart from the rest is Darrell. Darrell always has a smile on his face as he welcomes you into the restaurant. His attitude really sets the tone for the visit. In fact, when he is not there, it's almost a let down. Keep doing what your doing Darrell. read more

I usually use the drive thru when I come here but recently I dined in. They seem to have updated the interior because everything looks new. They also added a self serve kiosk so you can order yourself. They even have booths now. Service has always been fast and friendly, both in the drive thru and dine in. The food was fresh and hot. Can't wait to come back again. read more

The food has always been hot and fresh and somehow it seems better now than when I was a kid. Darrell behind the counter here is a true asset to this location and the company. Edit: 11/10/23 Dropped from two stars to one star because oh my gosh I am just barely getting over the food poisoning over a week later. Here's the thing- my family and I are not regular fast food eaters and we eat a balanced healthy diet so when we choose fast food we have always chosen golden chick because it's literally the best. I'm pretty sure it was the mac n cheese. As a former cook I'm more than sure this was caused by raw chicken juice getting into the mac n cheese and allowed to fester while the machine or holding container for it was probably not keeping the correct temperature to prevent bacterial growth. I had to throw out all of my leftovers and groceries I bought prior to becoming sick dueto not being able to get out of bed for over a week and cook for my family. They were all spoiled. This cost me easily $100 out of my pocket just because I wanted to have a day off cooking and enjoy some delicious fried chicken. I will not be back ever again, not out of pettiness, but genuinely it would make me sick to my stomach to eat here after the memories of this week. read more

The first time I went to Golden Chick, I was like... no way. Cane's has the best chicken tenders. Oh how so wrong I was.... the first time I bit into that tender, a burst of flavors just exploded in my mouth... I was in Heaven. With their crack laced Lotta Zing, and their warm biscuits... it just doesn't get any better. Now I will say that I love my ghetto fabulous chicken over at Williams... and I will always have a place in my heart for my steroid feed Church's chicken... but you Golden Chick... You have etched a place forever in my taste buds with your crack laced Lotta Zing chicken tenders. read more

Oh my goodness, I just reintroduced Golden Chick in my life again. Where have I been in my life???? I see this location from the Richardson Library which I go to a lot yet I have not stepped inside Golden Chick. I have only been to this store 2x, counting today. The other time was years ago and I don't even remember if I got food. Today I got the 4 piece tenders (spicy) which comes with a roll and a side with a drink. The tenders were so crispy yet tender and moist (on the inside). I was so stuffed that I couldn't finish my side almost but being the secret fatty, I did. All that for 7.57. I would come here again all the time to satisfy my fried chicken cravings. The fatty in me would have taken an ice cream to go but I was too stuffed and it was cold outside. Oh and the staff was very friendly and kind. read more

I've been to this location on Arapaho 3 times now and each time the service and quality are outstanding. The food is always hot and the staff is always so friendly. I can honestly say this is the most consistent Golden Chick I've had since I first tried it years ago. I even go during lunch rush and they're so effective to where the longest I've waited was still less than 5 minutes. Kudos to the employees at this location!! read more

I usually love this place but the other day I went through drive thru and my food was old/heat lamped. Typical fast-food place. Nothing really special or out of the ordinary. Don't believe the hype. Seriously. Then again I've lived in Georgia so I know what real fried chicken tastes like. Only thing I appreciated was the fried okra. Not too bad, like a 3. And you get a lot. Probably would be the only reason why I'd ever come here. read more

I walked in and it was very clean! No one greeted me, so I decided to use the self service kiosk. Someone made my drink and called me to the counter. I picked it up and it started pouring out from the bottom due to a hole. One lady just looked at me and then told another lady what was happening in Spanish and they both just stared as I scrambled to find napkins. One lady handed me a cup full of ice for me to put the remainder of the drink inside. The only person willing to actually help me was a nice black man who worked there. I thanked him and left. After all that, my order was wrong. I asked for fried okra and I got French fries and I know it was inputted correctly because I did it myself. I most definitely won't be back here. read more

LOVE their yeast rolls and chicken!! Their fried chicken is not too oily and has the right amount of crispiness. The yeast rolls are so soft and tasty! We also ordered a medium drink of sweet tea. This is one of the best places to get fried chicken! Highly recommend it! read more

I don't usually eat fast food but I will to say that my experience here was exceptional. The staff is very professional and friendly. The store was very clean and cared for. I love golden chics food but it's always hit or miss with me. There are times I order wicked wings and they are so over cooked and dry I have to throw them all away. Today I went and ordered tenders thought that might help and it did it was very good today. The only problem I had was the gravy was very watery and runny I would have liked a thicker consistency. Another thing I dislike is when you pull up they can never hear you so you have to scream ypur order which is so annoying. A plus for getting my order right in very picky and ways substitute something for something. read more

I also ways have a great meal at this Golden Chick. Great zing sauce to go with my chicken tenders, great yeast rolls, the battered fries are awesome, and the free ice cream has great flavor (far better than Jason's Deli).
