GC is my go to fried chicken spot, fairly consist quality, love that zing (gotta ask for it), and free soft serve. This location is surprisingly nice for a fast food restaurant lol. There is so much parking, for real like too much parking if that's possible. It's a new store and still has that new vibe even though the interior is basically every GC interior ever. The chicken I got was particularly fresh and well made, even for past experiences at other locations. I generally just order the dark meat but on Mondays they have half off mixed chicken. I can't deny a great deal heh so I begrudgingly accepted the white meat. And I have to say, wow. I really enjoyed even eating the chicken breast, super juicy and delicious. I don't really expect a fast food restaurant to wow me, just to satisfy and indulge but will say I was pleasantly surprised at this location. Plus the manager was really nice. We missed Friday this week, so on Saturday she and my son went out and stopped by GC for chicken to bring home. This is my first time at this new location. The drive thru speaker system and the employee taking the order through it were both top notch. I think this was the best and easiest to understand drive thru experience I've ever had anywhere. Got home and found the order to be 100% accurate and the food tasted great. Worst experience ever. Here is the whole story. This outlet is on the way to my gym so couple of times I grabbed my food from here but everything changed on 3/19. On 3/19 I took my food from Drive thru order : DT362 and when I reached home I found order was incomplete so I called back and the executive took all my details and told me either he can refund or next time order will be on us. To which I replied no worries , you guys can fix it on next when I visit the outlet. (Screenshot of phone calls & bill attached). So on 3/23 I again visited the outlet , ordered my food and told them my previous conversation with the agent. To which & I quote the lady at the window replied " That's not possible and there is no such record with us" . She looked at me such a way that I was lying and trying to get free food. I felt angry & embarrassed at same time. I showed her the previous bill and told her that your executive recorded all my details on that day so I don't know why you guys have this much of miscommunication. Then may be she talked to her manager & still not willing to believe me. Then she said " we can give you 10% discount" but her tone - I didn't like it. It felt like I have done some mistake and they are doing a favor to me. I said " I don't need your discount & I will pay my bill in full" So I paid and left. 1. So I don't understand on 3/19 when I was on phone call why the executive misinformed me and where did he wrote the details.(If possible go through that phone call if you record them ) 2. On 3/23, the lady at the window & her supervisor were not showing any type of support to believe me plus the quality of food I got that day was bad. Went 10/11/2022 for two Nashville hot sandwiches. Sandwiches were dtred out room temp and not very spicy hot, buns were dried out and hard. 2 pickles scant condiments. Dry and tastes. 3 sparse portioned sides, not worth 2.99 each. Sides didn't even cover the bottom of a togo container. Popeyes and even KFC can beat that hands down! My original review had to do with the hassle caused by food accidently left out of my order, the fact that they don't pick-up phones when they are 'busy' (after 1:30pm), and somehow can't provide refunds due to some corporate policy. Contacted corporate by filling-out the form with receipt ID. Nothing. It's been over a month, and I never got my $12 back for a sandwich and a large side I never received... over... a... month... It's a shame, my wife used to love this location, but it's just not worth my time dealing with this kind of lack of accountability for something as basic as issuing a refund for goods not provided. read more

I'm giving this location 2 stars based on customer service only. The young man handling the drive-thru was very nice and hospitable. I sadly did not have a good experience with my food, I don't know if it was due to the time or what. But I usually enjoy the spicy flavor of Golden Chick's tenders. This time I also ordered a piece of fish and everything about the flavor of the fish was very off putting. I can't seem to figure out what the flaw is but my chicken tenders did not come with the spicy flavor seasoning and the fish was over cooked. My roll was burnt and also had an awful aftertaste. As for the jalapeño poppers, the were soggy and not crispy when I bit into one. This is my second time visiting this location, my first time was similar but I wanted to give them another chance before reviewing. read more

I came here for the Fletcher's Corn Dog which was offered during the pandemic aka when the State Fair of Texas 2020 was semi-cancelled. The corn dog was just like Fletcher's, but I wish I had eaten it right when I got it (it was about a 20 minute drive home). FYI the corny dog is available until the end of October, so get your corny dog soon! However, I was more impressed with the chicken tenders! I was a believer with Raising Cane's, then Layne's, but now I think I like Golden Chick over the two. The tenders have a light crispy batter, which I like. They also offer the tenders as spicy, which I like. I also like the idea that it's not only tenders here, but also fried chicken pieces as well as roasted chicken as well. The zing sauce.. Eh! In all that time my only compliant was watery gravy right near closing time 20 years ago. Every time I have gone to this location I've waited over 30 minutes and as long as one hour in the front of their business after already paying for my order after being told it be a five minute wait. Tonight I went I was only the second car in line ordered a meal pay for it and they asked me to go around front and sit and wait and I said it would be five minutes. The only way Golden Chick could be better would be if they gave me a fork to eat my food. Are they angry environmentalists or just very cheap? Do they only do this to spite customers? Absolutely horrible service!!!! When I placed my order in the drive-thru, I was told that I would have to wait 5 minutes for my chicken and could I please pull around to the front. No problem. 20 minutes later, the young man comes out with food, which was not mine! They gave my food to someone else. So back inside he goes. 5 minutes later he comes out to say that they didn't have 10 pieces; could they throw in 4 strips. I said that was fine. I just wanted my food. 10 minutes later I have reached my limit so I went inside. I asked to speak with the manager. That was useless! All I got was excuses!! She finally offered 20% off my next order...as if there would ever be another order. To top it all off, the food was NOT GOOD! Mashed potatoes were bland. Just recently visited Golden Chick and was pleasantly surprised. First the employees are always friendly and courteous and they take the time to answer questions regarding the menu. We have tasted the tenders (regular and spicy) and they have always been moist and not dry. Also tried the roasted chicken and it was moist and not over cooked. We also like the many choices of side items especially the garden salad and fried okra. We now go about once a week. Next time I plan on trying the fried catfish. read more
