I haven't been to a grandy's in years. I've passed it and been meaning to get that infamous and nostalgic chicken fried chicken. The drive thru attendant (very helpful) recommended getting a double chicken instead of one because sometimes one can ran small. I wanted to try a piece of different sides to compare, since it had been so long. The portions were prefect as sides, the chicken i couldn't finish but fresh and hearty. The French fries were fresh and seasoned perfectly. Mashed potatoes were good maybe a little salt needed between gravy brown was ok white seemed better. Corn always a great choice. The Mac and cheese was just the right amount of creamy and cheesy. Definitely a comfort food must. Sweet tea was very sweet. All in all from assistance, price and location it's a great fit. Seems they still had holiday dish available top right for the season post Christmas. Was tempted to try the cherry cobler, but I knew i was going to be full. Glad I finally had the chance to finally enjoy. Of course returning later on with better knowledge on what to order. read more

Grandy's is my favorite chicken restaurant. My daughter loves the brunch buffet. I highly recommend grabbing a large box of chicken and a gallon of sweet tea and meet friends/family across the three at one of the most beautiful parks I have seen. I do wish they still had more stores in the Collin County area, especially Frisco. read more

We ate there today and there was a black hair on our chicken fried chicken meal. Food was not even hot it was warm temperature. Went thru drive up big guy with bushey black curly hair sticking out of his dirty cap on that looked like he's never washed it so disgusting And his big bushey beard was not groomed as well as his hair. So we're sure that's where the hair came from with him being the one fixing our meals as we watched him at drive up window . We will contact Plano Health Department tomorrow to open a report. It's obvious manager is desperate for workers to put someone like that working in the food serving section. They need a good inspection on the place so I'll be the one to make sure it gets one. Very unsanitary place to be serving food. The guy got an attention and said well they have had no other complaints except mine. I was like excuse you I'm a customer not others and what has happened here is my personal problem with this situation and your other customers are not my concern. By the way this was the late afternoon time shift so beware if you go at 5pm or after that and check your food if it's a drive thru purchase. read more

I am so shocked that I'm about to make a review on a fast food restaurant but I can't NOT do it! Ate in the dining room that is spacious and appears recently renovated though I'm not sure if that's true. A tv set that looks like a 70inch is easily viewable from anywhere in the room. The food is great and the service was very friendly. Small things like the quality of the plastic silverware and the orderliness of everything is the cherry on top. But, (insert drum roll here) the really impressive thing is how clean the whole restaurant is. It's spotless! The bathroom smelled like a hotel room. It's amazing. My wife joked that it's the best valentines meal we've ever had (sorry Al Biernets). Definitely worth a visit if you're near downtown Plano! read more

I am so happy to find a Grandy's still open, and that it's a GOOD one! I have been a die-hard Grandy's fan since childhood. However, the ones in my area of Denton County where usually hit and miss, and eventually all closed down. I came back from a military deployment in 2021, and was sad to find the last one in our area, the Lewisville location, had closed. I went a year without a Grandy's fix, until my dad told me about this one, just 5 minutes from my work! When I come at lunch hour, it's always the same guy at the counter, who is super friendly, cool and always provides excellent customer service. I have never received a wrong order, and every food item has been delicious! The atmosphere inside is very old school Grandy's with lots of wood, but they keep it very clean. Definitely a delicious trip down memory lane, and I hope that this one stays open for many years to come! read more

We are repeat customers to this location! The food is always good and ready quickly. The best part is how much care they take in preparing your food for transport if you're doing pickup/delivery with DoorDash or Uber Eats. The gravy, baked beans, etc. are always in their own airtight container so it doesn't spill out all over the bag. When ordering Grandy's at another location, I had 90% of my gravy in the plastic bag when Uber Eats handed it to me on its side so I am always so appreciative for the extra care here! read more

I love this Grandy's location!!! The food is always fresh, hot and delicious. My breakfast guilty pleasure is the Deluxe breakfast sandwich. With breakfast steak, scrambled eggs & cheese with grape jelly. The best $2.99+tax I've ever spent for a hearty breakfast. But what baffles me is that the prices at Grandy's aren't consistent. I'm here at grandy's in plano. I've updated the restaurant and it's actually really clean. However they are still advertising the breakfast bar every morning and when we asked about it. They were extremely rude and telling us that they no longer did it. And when I asked why it was still on the websithe young girl really said that was a old issue even knows updated 3 days ago. The food was really good I hope you'll enjoy it here but the staff has an attitude and Never met anyone as rude as a entire staff here. I suggest you go through the drive-through. read more

I love Grandy's so much you don't even get to see a picture of my food because I ate it before I took a picture! I love this place but they are few and too far between. I came here tonight and got the country fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. You get a choice of white or brown gravy. The food is made in small batches so that it is always fresh and hot. In fact my steak though pre-cooked was so hot I had to wait a few minutes in order to eat it. It was as delicious as I remember this place being. One of my other favorite things about coming here are the warm soft rolls with butter and honey that they give you. They only give you too but you can order more and they are so good you will want to. The service was great friendly and efficient. The dining room was cleaned spotlessly. Hello, I visited the Plano location today I purchased a tender meal and a steak. When I got back from picking it up the chicken tenders were still raw and had pink insides. When I called and spoke to the manager on shift at 1:20pm said" it was perfectly normal to get chicken tenders with pink insides" then hung up on me. I did attempt to call back and the phone was answered and sounded like it was left on the counter and I could hear the back round noise then the phone call was hung up. I ordered two 2 piece chicken dinners, one with mashed potatoes and one with French fries, both with okra, 2 pieces of fish and 1/2 dozen cinnamon rolls. There was no gravy on the mashed potatoes, no rolls and the vegetables were ALL stone cold. No warmth at all. The okra was chewy and cold. The cinnamon rolls were extremely dry and old. I called the store and the manager put me on hold and gave me back to the girl that answered the phone. She gave me a hard time about how everything was cooked fresh. Somehow it became my fault. Horrible customer service and horrible food. So disappointing as I love Grandy's and their cinnamon rolls are always such a family treat. read more

This is the only Grandy's I know is around anymore in North Dallas. I don't come here often at all, but coming here is always a like a walk down memory lane. But unfortunately, I tell why there aren't as many as there used to be. Grandy's is just not what it used to be. I was meeting with a friend from church for a breakfast during the week, and I got the breakfast buffet, but I was so underwhelmed that I didn't bother to get a second helping. Second time in three weeks I have ordered a bacon breakfast sandwich and both times (7 am mind you so not later on) egg was tiny and cold and rubbery, the biscuits tasted stale and overly salty and also cold to the point the cheese stayed cold on it while I ate it. I have lived down the street from this Grandy's my whole life. Me and my mother would always go there on Saturdays. We love there food, it's been a part of our lives for the longest time. Now we have the new employees and they can't do their job what so ever. The food can still be good from here to there, but they really need to work on their employees. Grandy's has some of the best Southern food in Texas. Their service was great along with their prices. The food was prepared in a timely manner and tasted fresh. I had the chicken strips dinner with corn and French fries. I also had a cinnamon roll for desert. I'm gonna have to say that their Chicken Biscuit is just as good as or even better than Chick-fil-a's chicken biscuit! The biscuit is big and buttery, and the chicken fillet is super THICK and juicy. But the down side of my breakfast meal was that the hash brown that came with, was disgustingly saturated with frying oil, maybe it was a fluke? They also have a great breakfast buffet usually till about 10:30. They've got, biscuits, bacon, sausage, chicken fried steak fingers, gravy, eggs, hash browns, grits, cinnamon rolls, and fruit. Obviously Grandy's isn't a 4 star restaurant, but as this type of restaurant goes it gets 4 stars. The drive thru is fast, the inside service is great, and the food was hot. They have comfort food (if you haven't been here before) like chicken fried steak, chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes and brown or white gravy, Mac n cheese, corn, green beens, okra, etc. Their bread rolls are the best. They also have deserts but we didn't try any. The three of us ate for under $25. read more
