No service. Today I went in and there was one guy making sandwiches, there was no greeting or acknowledgment. Still i patiently waited and looked at the menu. I saw one other guy washing dishes in the back with his AirPods in, also not paying attention to me. A lady walked in and went by the pick up area and was given her sandwich after the man finished with it. As I thought he would turn to greet me, since he seemed done with her order, he instead proceeded to pour olives into another container then walked the empty one to the sink. Afterwards he went into the back room. Still no acknowledgment. I decided to just leave as I headed towards the door I turned back to see if maybe he was getting another person to handle the register. Nope instead he just glanced at me then went on to the sandwich table without a word. So I left out and went next door to chipotle who welcomed me the moment I walked in. Great place for a sub! I'm used to eating firehouse subs so this place was a change. We also ordered delivery as well. They have their 8" subs with either whole wheat sandwich bread or white hoagie bread. I ordered the #12 beach xxx with turkey and avocado spread. The spread was okay, I was hoping it was really avocado. There wasn't that many choices to my liking, such as the bread choices. I was wishing they had the whole wheat in hoagie form instead sandwich form, that's why I deduct 1 star. Other than that, it was great! Very real tasting. Pickles are EXTRA. There are so many sub places out there these days but Jimmy John's is just one i consider to be a classic sub spot. I normally have a taste for flare but sometimes I crave just what some may call a basic sub. I absolutely love the tom turkey I always ads cheese and onions with extra extra mayo, hate a dry sub, and it always satisfies my craving! They are very prompt and will deliver just 1 sandwich if you want. "The most popular is #9 and #12. And so is #10." And the difference between the clubs and the subs are the subs are hollowed out and the clubs are cut straight in half. It takes me a while to figure out what I want and surprisingly, the wife knows what she wants before I do. This is probably a first. She gets the Veggie and she can't decide whether she wants the club or the sub. Luckily the sandwich arti... guy behind the counter says, "Look. The only difference between the sub and club is one has 4 pieces of cheese and one has 8." "The 4. Definitely." I get the Beach Club (#12). We don't know it until later, but the difference between the Beach Club and the Veggie is turkey. The Food: My first bite of my sub was mediocre - the good news is that it actually got better as I ate more. The secret is the avocado spread. It's nothing like guacamole, so don't go in expecting it to. It's kind of an avocado-flavored mayo. It's good stuff. The wife compared my sub against hers and agreed that mine was tastier. There are a couple things I don't like about JJ's. They only have one kind of sub bread. There were some other options but they didn't ask us which one we wanted. The wife mentioned that we didn't have the choice of toasting our sandwich either. Lastly, the only choice for cheese is provolone. The wife asked if they offered fresh mozzarella and the sandwi... guy behind the counter said, "Corporate decided to only have provolone, but it's like fresh mozzarella." "Really?" the wife says. "Sure, they're both white cheeses." The good news was that the food was fast. It was a good sandwich but some small tweaks could have made it better. It's cheap eats, the two of us came to under $10. The signs and posters on the wall are fun and the atmosphere is adequate. As always, smells are free, so don't squander your breath somewhere else. They make mistakes on our sandwiches on a regular basis, but they will re-make it for you if you ask, else they just remove the offending ingredient. I took it back to counter, and instead of offering an apology or to remake it, Frankie (who identified himself as the manager) said something along the lines of "so, I will give you a refund." I told him I did not care about policy, and he surprised me by saying that he did not care about it either, and that he was just letting me know what policy was. Then he told me he had a problem with me before, I reminded him that the only times I had ever said anything was when they made my sandwiches wrong, and the extent of my communications then was to point out their error and to ask for a remake. How hard is that. He then asked why I was changing the subject and bringing up the past. Wow! I was just responding to his comment, walking through the door that he opened. I asked for owner's name, he refused and asked me to leave, no worries, give me the name and number and we are gone. He said it was on the wall, on a brochure, in a corner that was inaccessible because it was blocked by a bench and a trash bin. Frankie threatened to call the police, no need, just refund my money and we are on the way. Unfriendly people, inept "managers," inability to follow a simple sandwich order, unsanitary conditions but a really good sandwich makes it a no-brainier..... Go somewhere else. They serve up a wide list of prefixe sandwiches that you can tweak any which way. Pick a sandwich type, and while they make it, you pay for it. It increases your appreciation of any given restaurant. I was able to sample many-a-sub today thanks to some free samples via the Jimmy John's location closest to my work. They randomly walked into our office and were like, "Hey, we have some free samples. Where's your break room?" Couple minutes later, Nos. 1, 4 and 6 on Jimmy's menu were in mah belleh. I'd already tried The Vegetarian (not a fan), but the Turkey Tom and Pepe were pretty good. I didn't like the amount of mayo, though (too much). I still prefer other sandwich places to Jimmy's (like Quiznos, Jersey Mike's, Subway, etc.), but if they're gonna give me free subs? I'll take 'em! read more

Jimmy John's is my favorite sandwich shop after Potbelly. The bread is so awesome that it would be a shame to toast it, so I'm glad they don't. It's always perfectly cooked and shaped--almost as if it weren't made by humans. The meats and cheeses are fresh, high-quality, and sliced right in front of your eyes. Jimmy John's has the best smoked ham I've had from a sandwich shop, and the cheese is so flavorful that you can actually taste it in your sandwich--no need to look to see if it's there. And last but not least, the mayo is so good that I could eat it on bread by itself. Mmm... mayo sandwich. Now, the complaints: -- They tend to overdo the mayo, causing the contents of your sandwich to slip and slide every time you take a bite. This is annoying, as you have to keep checking to make sure you're not about to end up with half of your sandwich on the table, which can be a mess to recover from. -- "Freaky Fast" can be a bad thing when your sandwich is put together so carelessly that it keeps falling apart. -- They go very heavy on the lettuce sometimes, which can lend an overly grassy flavor to your sandwich. I've ordered many deliveries from this location and up until the last couple of months I haven't had any issues. The last time my delivery took an hour. When I called to see what was going I was told the driver left 20 minutes ago and should be there soon. He had a lot of deliveries. When he did arrive, I was given a coupon for a free sub because of how long it took. That was nice. Today I decided to order another delivery (mind you this is just one sub) and I'm sitting here writing this as I come up on an hour again without my sandwich. I know it's 4/20 but damn. their sandwiches are very wholesome and awesomely flavorful. and my goodness they make their sammie FAST! I put in my order and turned around after what seemed like 15 seconds and it was already finished! on top of that there's ample parking so it's PERFECT for especially those that have no time. it's a very quick get-in and get-out place. on the other hand i wish they offered an actual a low-fat menu. their "low-fat" menu consists of the "slim" sandwiches with just meat and cheese. they don't even have a light mayo option! thus only 4-stars from me. :) read more
