I ordered a meal for 2 on July 25, 2026 that totaled $69.88 including taxes and other fees, and the meal was very good. I ordered the same meal on Friday evening July 31, 2026, with a total of $73.00. Almost the Entire meal was as if I was eating from a box of salt. Even after removing the outer layer from the Chicken Tenders the chicken was too salty. The Mexican corn was so salty it was not edible. The Barbecue Crispy Drumsticks were salty, dry, and hard. Ok, so I haven't been here in about 15 years. I remembered it being run down and no better than a Boston market. But y'all, I was pleasantly surprised at the delicious meal I was served. I ordered delivery and got the brisket and 1/4 chicken, twice baked potaters and tomato cucumber salad. For dessert I got the banana puddin'. Let's start with the chicken, RIDICULOUSLY D R Y. I got the white meat and it was definitely overcooked. The brisket was good, nice flavor but it was so fatty, I barely got to enjoy any of the meat. The twice baked potaters was probably the best thing that I got. Whipped well and tasty. The tomato cucumber salad wasted all over the bottom of the bag so made for a nice mess to clean up before enjoying my meal. The banana puddin' wasn't the best I ever had but it was very airy and light. It also comes with a roll. I ordered inside the restaurant and took it To Go. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. 5 stars for the staff! In the past, this meal has been plenty of food - enough to share. Today the dark chicken pieces were on the small size. The sweet potato was moist and delicious. The roll flavor was good, but dry. We have been ordering from Cowboy Chicken for several years. Initially the Greenville Avenue location which was always great. We moved up near this location and have ordered here at least a dozen times or so. The two most recent visits, I picked up TOGO. The first time my food was ready about an hour and fifteen minutes after ordering. The place was slammed but cannot seem to keep up with the demand. Tonight I ordered at 6:28pm arrived at 6:48pm and received my order at 7:08pm. Again, a ton of people waiting. After getting home with a family chicken dinner that's supposed to feed four we got 6 dried out inedible chicken legs, and two thighs. The sides were fine but the chicken was absolutely terrible. For $55 it was a total rip off. We most likely won't be ordering here any longer. read more

Why would you get rid of the cream spinach which is one of the healthier choices and the most delicious side you had I would literally go in for a large spinach and then end up buying more food because the smell of cowboy chicken is so yummy. I like all of the family meal options because it gives my family a meal and 3 or more different sides. My favorite two sides is their hash brown casserole and their salad. I don't really like the celery inside of their salad, but it is quite delicious. I placed an order online today for two meals and two drinks. When we got to Cowboy Chicken to pick up our food, apparently the app had only received one of the meal orders. The gentleman who helped us was so extremely kind and gave us the meal for our troubles. He then proceeded to help my husband carry the food out to our car. This place has great food if you're OK with it being lukewarm. A baked potato should have steam coming off it when served. It should melt butter at the very least. The potatoes here are barely warm but evidently are "within industry standards". I'm tired of coming here and getting nothing but lukewarm food and excuses. But the food is so darn good! I like the consistency of the food regardless of which chicken place I visit in this chain. This is my co-workers go to place when we need to eat in a hurry. We call the order in and do carry out. We avoid having food delivered because it always takes a really long time and the orders have been wrong 99% of the time. With pickup the food is correct and it's still hot! Go figure! The food is good here. The place is clean even when it's busy. I'm greeted by a staff member at the register when I enter. The chicken is always moist and has a great flavor. I really like their salad with the house dressing. Every Cowboy Chicken has a different house dressing. Mine is the vinaigrette! They have different teas that you can purchase by the gallon.
