Great place for bar style food. Love that you can bring your pups! Fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese were awesome as well as the wings!

Don't have a picture of the food because we never got any. Polliwogs posted this 6 days ago but then never answered when people asked the price or if they needed reservations. Tried to call to ask if we needed a reservation and their phone was off the hook all week. So my friend and I decided to just go there. When the waitress said we needed a reservation we told her that we tried but we could never get through. She said yes their phone has not been working. So then we asked how could we make a reservation? Her answer was, it's not my fault. Just mentioning this so people don't waste their time in the future.

Had the wings and raw fries. The wing sauce tasted strange. The raw fries were very raw, ordered medium. Last time dining there for me.

I know, that sounds strange but this chicken Parmesan was one of the best I've ever had. Another great thing was the pasta. Perfectly cooked angel hair. Al dente, not mushy - which is difficult to get right. IYKYK Angel hair overcooks in 30 seconds flat! The 2nd entree blew my mind! It was the smoked and fried half hen. The aroma of this dish when they served immediately had my mouth watering and my tummy rumbling loudly. The crust on the chicken was perfect. Thin and super crunchy with amazing flavor. The meat was tender, juicy and smoky. It was served on top of a crispy cornbread cake studded with fresh corn kernels and fresh jalapeño. The field peas were very well seasoned, and although I didn't see any ham or bacon, I suspect they were seasoned with some sort of pork, but I could be wrong. I was also very pleased to find that they had a Chenin blanc wine on their list that night because it's one of my favorites white wines but really hard to find. Well, I hope you find this review helpful. Both dishes are worthy of being permanently on the menu

When I walked in, I was amazed at what I saw inside, as it definitely was not what I was expecting (and I mean that in a good way!). I loved how dimly lit it was inside, which was complemented by miniature lights that were strung from the ceiling. Speaking of the aforementioned change of pace, I also appreciated how there were no TVs inside, which created an intimate atmosphere that focused more on conversing with your friends than watching whatever may have been on TV. Finally, as someone who always pays attention to a restaurant's artwork... I absolutely LOVED the artwork that was on display at Goat's. They had so many cool pieces of eclectic artwork, that you could almost consider it as much a small art museum as a restaurant. My favorite art piece is kind of hard to describe, but I guess you could say that it was of a God-like man in a suit controlling somebody who was playing golf. (I know, it's hard to describe, but like I said, it's eclectic.) My one (1) downside to Goat's, and the only thing keeping it from a five-star review, is that the bartender and servers were all pretty rude and arrogant. This is speculation, but maybe Goat's is one of those places that considers itself a "regulars" bar, and isn't very nice to people who aren't regular customers, but the three (3) employees I interacted with weren't all that inviting. All in all, Goat's was a great experience, and if it were an option, I'd probably give it something like 4.5 or 4.8 stars if I could. If the servers were a little less full of themselves, or maybe just in a better mood, I'd consider it a five-star experience. Nevertheless, Goat's was a great experience, I'll definitely be back, and I'd recommend that anybody stop in if they're looking for a unique experience in Five Points!

My husband decided we should test it out today, so we ended up grabbing the food as we had a couple plans for today. My husband ordered the Reuben Sandwich. It came with Truffle Parmesan Fries. He stated the taste was very flavorful, the meat was tender, and he fell in love with the truffle fries. They didn't stand a chance! Now here comes the funny part:) I told him I wanted the Black Bean Burger without the lettuce and tomato, but instead he ordered me just the patty with cheese and mayo with no buns! Instead of him asking the correct way, he asked for it as just the patty only, haha I was too tickled to be mad. Even though he missed it, it was so good! That was the best black bean patty I had in a long time. It was well-prepared and delicious. Yes, I also have the Truffle Parmesan Fries and they tasted amazing. Hot, seasoned to perfection and irresistible! Once I saw the salmon, I had to try it. Omg, that salmon was prepared perfectly, juicy and mouth-watering. The food was on point I must say. Hubby stated customer service was amazing as well. The restaurant was well lit, had a great atmosphere and overall a great spot to dine with your friends. We will definitely be heading back soon to dine in and try more food:)

We were taken to a room that was suitable for a private party. For appetizers we ordered the sweet and crispy brussels sprouts and the shrimp and risotto cake. Both were really good. For our entrees we got the Salmon Berry Salad and Braised Beef. I enjoyed my Braised Beef. It was super tender and the sauce was phenomenal. I subbed mashed potatoes instead of the grits that came with it and the carrots were sweet, tender and delicious. I def recommend getting an extra side of mashed potatoes and the sauce togo if you don't finish your meal.

We had reservations and were seated promptly in a comfortable booth near the front windows, where I thoroughly enjoyed watching the rain fall while we settled in for dinner. Our server, Alexis B., was as sweet as could be. Friendly, attentive, and professional throughout the evening, she did everything she could to make our experience enjoyable. Unfortunately, things went downhill when one of my dining companions disclosed an onion allergy. To be clear, the issue wasn't Alexis - it was the response from management. What should have been a straightforward conversation turned into a surprisingly frustrating ordeal involving both a manager and assistant manager, neither of whom handled the situation particularly well. We ordered a roasted beet salad for the table, drinks including a club soda and Cola's 76, and my friends planned to split the hamburger. When the burger arrived, it consisted of a bun and a beef patty. That's it. No toppings. Nothing. When we asked what happened, we were told it was due to concerns about cross contamination. Now, I fully appreciate restaurants taking food allergies seriously. In fact, I encourage it. But there was a complete lack of communication, flexibility, or customer service surrounding the situation. When additional toppings and accompaniments were eventually brought out separately, there was no explanation, apology, or acknowledgment of the confusion. The entire interaction left a really, really bad taste in our mouths. As for my own meal, things were much better. I enjoyed a strawberry mojito, a half-dozen oysters Rockefeller, and the gnocchi caprese. The gnocchi was quite unique and something I don't often see on menus. The food itself was enjoyable. So, in the end, this review comes down to the service experience. Alexis was wonderful. The atmosphere was inviting. The food ranged from good to very good. But the way management handled a simple allergy accommodation turned what could have been a four- or five-star experience into a frustrating one. Sweet server. Cozy atmosphere. Sour management. Kind of like an onion, I guess!
