I'm bleeding in multiple places on my cuticles, the gel is flooded in my cuticles, every nail has bubbles or lumps, one of the nails has scratches under the top coat from where my nail tech filed the gel polish down after curing and then just added another layer of top coat. I came on Saturday 10/11/2025 for a pedicure and full set, the lady doing my set said I put builder gel on ACRYLICS I asked her will the builder gel work on acrylic nail she said 4 times yes, she had to redo 4 nails while being at the shop as the polish kept lifting up and not drying up. About 3 hrs of leaving there and me heading to a party I notice my nail polish was lifting up and smerged. Called in and I told them about what was happening and the lady told me to come in Sunday 10/12/15 /25 to get fix. I come in and the lady that original did my nails was off so Ana helped me and as of today the nail broke off the nails are very weak I think because of the builder gel. Honestly swore I'd never return because my nails usually don't last long from here. Thought I'd give them another try. The inside has had a lot of renovations and looks nice. The service overall was pleasant. My complaint is that a short finger tip length set was $77 and when I looked at my receipt I was charged for a pedicure and lip wax... when I actually got a full set of nails. The invoicing seem sketchy with made up pricing. The fact they have you sign that you're satisfied with service without them actually even putting the service you received, which isn't even seen until after signing is literally a scam to the customer read more

I am actually saddened to be writing this review. I have been going to this salon since they opened. TEN YEARS I've been a client. I'm quiet, respectful, always tip, and built a great relationship with Elsa, Alex, and Q over the years. I've never had a problem for ten years with this establishment or the girls. They are and have always been amazing. Today, I got my gel, french tip manicure + gel pedicure. I walked in on time at 11:30am for my appointment - with exactly what I had on last. A gel, french tip manicure + gel pedicure. I paid $80 last time. I had my nails done by Shellie, she was so polite, so thorough, and did a perfect gel french tip. It did however take 2.5 hours. She's newer so I was super patient and understanding and didn't mind at that time. She apologized for how long it took and said she didn't expect the removal of the regular gel (that I had done by Lisa? last) to take so long to remove. No problem, I understand! Went to get my regular gel pedicure, then I walked up to pay... The new owner (I guess) rang me up... for $100!!!!!!!!!! I said shyly, "Um, what is this $100 for?" She said, "Gel french tip, manicure, gel pedicure, plus $15 removal." And pointed at their "menu". I'm sorry, $15 to remove gel polish???? I thought to myself, I got EXACTLY what I got last time, and paid $80 then, this time, $100? I could tell everyone in the salon was clearly experiencing an awkward moment of an owner who is running things her own way now. I felt bad for the girls around. And paid my $100 and left. Not only did I pay more, I walked in at 11:30am and left at 3pm. Feels like I just got betrayed by a 10 year relationship. Thank you Alex, Q, Elsa, Mom, Ren, Shellie, Tina. This adorable little nail salon sits in a small Mini mall just South of Fruitridge and Freeport. It can be easy to miss, but it is located next to "HoneyD" and a mexican restaurant. Polish Box has its own parking lot, and if you follow them on Instagram, you will see the most amazing and creative nails... this is actually how I found the place. The quality of the designs is simply off the charts, and for those craving something crazy Glittery or outrageous- this is the place for you. My own experiences have ranged from perfunctory to great, but I really only want a simple gel manicure, which is basic at best. They seem to love the challenge of artistic creations...and as someone who does not get those services, I admit I did feel a little looked down upon. With a basic manicure or gel application there are no bells-and-whistles, you can be done within 20 minutes. Those short on time can appreciate this, but with more complicated and detailed services it can take quite awhile. The salon offers a variety of mani-pedi services, from low to high end and everything looks very clean. I see value in the nail technicians and the outstanding designs they are capable of creating, so this is why I give it higher stars than only based on my few experiences. Listen, I don't even do reviews. However, I'm compelled to tell my experience with this shop. For starters , i only came here as I was invited by someone already there. I walk in and one of the techs kid was on the floor playing. Cool, no biggie, it's the weekend. I was patient with the kid because he was only a kid but I came to the nail shop to relax, not to have to worry about dealing with the behaviors of someone else's child. He was hanging on my leg, driving his car on me the whole entire time I was getting my fee done. Definitely should've gotten a discount just off that! I have never had an overlay so poorly placed. I had overhang under and on the sides of my nails, it's been only two weeks and I now have not one nail with powder on them. My pedicure prep wasn't horrible, but the polishing sucked. She went over each toe each time at least 7-8 times, which made them look clumpy. She clearly was not experienced. I left with one whole foot with no top coat on, which I couldn't go back because I don't live anywhere near this shop. The overlay and pedi was cheap and still wasn't worth it. read more

I am now a fan of Polish Box (PB) which has kept my claws tamed and presentable! Compared to my first visit and experience, Polish Box has grown and become must more efficient. The parking lot pavement was old, potholes, etc and had faded parking lines but fret not; it has since been redone! The parking lines were one of my main complaints every time I would park up to come to PB. For the most part, the interior decor is the same but there's a lot more manicure stations (counted about 10) and (6) pedicure spas. All the chairs and stations were upgraded to plush chairs including fancy new massage pedicure chairs & bowls. All the nail techs seem to be talented and PB is poppin' now a days so make sure you set an appointment or take your chances and walk-in. You can get designs, acrylic nails, gel mani/pedi, and other services. Also note that there are different price points for manicures and pedicures; higher the price, the more services included. The nail shop is also kid friendly and cost me about $10 for a pedicure for my 5yr old. You can bet your dirty claws I'll be back in a couple weeks! read more

ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! Alex is my savior and have made my nails look fabulous!!!! This is my second time here and everyone is really friendly, the salon is kept clean, and I'm in and out in an hour or so for a mani and pedi! ($33 for a fill with gel + matte polish and $35 for a French tip gel pedi) Alex has worked on me both times but I've seen her younger sister, Elsa's, manicures and they look just as amazing! They both really take their time and make sure your nails look perfect! If you're unhappy with something, they will gladly fix it for you without hesitation! This place is fairly small (~8 mani and 5 pedi stations) so you'll want to book an appointment in advance. I try to come during the weekdays so it isn't so busy (FYI-they are closed Mondays)! Everyone should try this nail salon out! You won't be disappointed! They have a wide array of polishes -including chrome!!- and can even do really nice designs!! This review is long overdue. I've been going to polish box since they first opened. I DRIVE FROM SAN FRANCISCO to keep coming to polish box. I am a hairstylist so I am very picky about my nails. Also since my hands are always in water, my nails never lasted long at other places. Elsa (and sometime her mom) do my acrylic nails with the perfect stiletto shape. Did I mention that I am picky?? Then Alex, oh my dear Alex, does my nail art. I have never found someone in Sac or the bay with the level of talent as her. I literally just sit down and let her do whatever she wants, and each and every time I am blown away!! I've been to Polish Box twice now and have not been disappointed. I've been looking everywhere for nail techs who are up with the current trends and i found the place! I had an appointment yesterday at 6pm and when i walked in they were PACKED. i only had to wait for about 5 minutes before i sat down with Elsa. I've been dying to try the marble look on my nails but the previous 2 salons didn't know how to do it. I told Elsa thats what i wanted and she said of course! she was AMAZING! She did the marble look sooo well. She nailed it (lolz) she was so sweet. At the station next to me was, i believe her name is Alex, and the nails she did were amazing as well! Yikes... I was excited to come back to get a simple fill with regular polish, but I'm kind of disappointed today. On the menu, a fill is listed as starting at $15, which was perfect for me. I know that at Polish Box they don't leave the polishes out for you to choose from, so when she showed me their palette, I didn't think anything of it. Nail tech did a beautiful job on my nails. However, when it was time for me to pay, she told me it was $25. I asked why, because the menu listed otherwise, and she said it was because gel polish is $10 extra. What??? I never even asked for gel polish. She decided to use gel polish on me without even asking me or letting me know that she was charging me extra. I didn't argue, because the polish was already on, and I wouldn't want to disturb any other guests. So I ended up spending twice as much as I anticipated because she decided for me that I was getting gel polish. I'm super sad, the nail techs here are really talented... I really do want to come back. Maybe now I have to specify that I don't want any unexpected extra charges before I get any services done here? Cute tucked away but close by. Brought my sister in law for her Birthday. Happy birthday Christina! We had a very short wait, even though it was a full house. Polite and gentle staff, they really payed attention to detail and gave good suggestions about shape and design. Very skilled artist, but we came for some more basic colors and looks because we all work In the food/ hospitality industry and can't get too wild. But we seen A LOT of very beautiful designs and stone placement walk out the door. I didn't give 5 starts because their bathroom needs a little help And like you know usual cleaning like sweeping and wiping the walls the sink area and such but nothing terrible but still noticable.. I came to this place as a high recommendation from my Aunt and I am new to the NorCal area. I showed the nail tech the nails I wanted from their personal Instagram (pictured on the left). She quoted me $50 to replicate the look, but when she started doing my nails she proceeded to only use one acrylic powder. I told her the design I wanted was ombré with two powders, pink and nude as shown in the picture. She insisted that the nails photographed were not ombré and instead only one acrylic color. I then asked how much it would be to create an ombré and I was given two different prices depending. $55 for pink and white and $60 for pink and nude. I decided to go with pink and white white ombré, but as she resumed with adding the acrylic, she changed the price again and stated the nails would be $60 because of the coffin style. At this point I was a bit frustrated with the change in pricing and the fact that they could not replicate a design that was posted on their own Instagram. I am from SoCal and I have never dealt with such confusion at a nail salon. I ended up settling with the one acrylic color, because I have an event coming up. I did end up tipping the nail tech for her time, but I will never come back to this place. They definitely lost a potential consistent customer. read more

I came in today to get a Full set and a pedicure. This is my first time getting a full set in over two years so I was excited to pamper myself for a change. I bought in A picture of the desired French tips that I wanted and was ready to pay whatever cost for them to look exactly as pictured. The nail tech drilled my nails down so bad that as soon as the acrylic touch them they started burning. As I'm writing this review my finger tips are so sore. She wasn't confident in giving me the desired French tip that I asked for so I waited 30 minutes for another artist to come finish the job. Although that artist conversation was amazing the finished look was not at all what I asked for. At this point I had already been in there for about 2 1/2 hours so I just said it was fine so I could move onto my pedicure. A gentleman did my pedicure and did a terrible job. I did not get the pedicure that I paid for, my French tips aren't even, the cut of my nails are not even, and the Gel polish on my third nail is already lifting. I also still have Dry skin on my feet. I am a regular with getting my feet done so it's not like I had a ton of dry skin that was hard to remove. I was charged $100 for this pedicure and Full set. I should have just spent my money at gold USA like I originally planned to lol. I won't be coming back.
