I'm quite disappointed with this place. I've seen so many good reviews about new management and how the owner has made the experiences much better, however I am certain I won't be back and here's why. The pedicure was so awful that I don't even want to show the end result because I am so embarrassed. It's been ONE day, and the gel polish is chipping off my toes already on top of the poorly painted job. Air bubbles, unevenness. Let's talk about the manicure. Tina, the new owner, did my nails. I had high expectations hence the reviews. It got busy, fast. She was rushing and helping other customers in between. Such as stopping in the middle of shaping my nails to go and clip & polish another customer's nails. The French tips are also poorly painted, the tips are uneven, and depending on the lighting you can see smears of white everywhere in her attempt to fix it without wiping it off complete and re-doing it. The shaping is also uneven. To top it off-- the nails are already budging at the cuticle, I'm sure these will fall off before a week. Lastly, I understand that the economy sucks and it's hard for small businesses. I don't appreciate the attempt to do a manicure and pedicure at the same time. The twisting and turning is uncomfortable, it's not relaxing, and you feel rushed. read more

In consistent quality. My tech today clearly didn't want to be at work. I wish My'le was here today. While one can appreciate the efficiency of getting toes and fingers done at the same time, but not if I have to reach across myself half the time to do my other hand. It was so uncomfortable being half turned and holding my arm out. I asked for short coffin nails. They are square. I asked my tech to make them slanted more on the sides. She told me I should have done round because it's easier. I don't see myself returning here unless I book ahead with My'le. read more

Got my nails done today I will never go back. Nail lady made me pay for my nails before even being painted while someone else right next to me of a difference "race" didn't have to pay first. Extremely sad and I would NOT recommend going there. read more

It was my Fiance's first time giving this place a try and found out how terribly racist they are. They asked her to pay in advance which she thought was typical for them only to find out that the other Asian customers did not pay in advance. When she addressed this with the lady at the front on the way out they had no response. She was fresh out of work and dressed in business attire with heels. There was no need to stereo type her and have her pay in advance. As a proud hispanic woman she will not tolerate this type of behavior from anyone. They should close down! Do not support this business. They deserve 0 STARS!! read more

Have been going here for the past few months. Always get my nails done with Tina who is the new owner. She is so nice and patient. She's also a perfectionist. She will get your design right even if it takes multiple tries. Overall, really great service and Really fair price prices. read more

We walked in at 5:30 pm and asked for a manicure with design on the ring finger on each hand for my niece. They took us and sat us down and from there things just went downhill. I felt like the lady rushed through the whole process. The coat wasn't even and I had to ask her to clean up my nieces nails because they were sloppy. My niece was very polite and said she liked it, but compared to other simple manicures with a single gel coat I've seen so much better. My search for a good manicure continues. Manicure with a single gel coat and design on one finger was $33. I tipped $5 to be polite. So, $38.00 total. read more

I've gone to AZ nails for about 12 years and they have always been great. Over the years I've been helped by a number of nail techs. Everyone has always been friendly. I usually get a manicure and pedicure. I called to see how long the wait was for two pedicure and they were able to fit us in 45 min later. I was very pleased. Just a note they now require you to pay up front so I usually bring cash for tips once they are done. read more

I love a fresh manicure but also a perfectionist when it comes to my nails so over the years I started doing my own. I recently went to get a gel manicure with a friend who was getting engaged. It was good... but loved how my nails stayed shiny for weeks. I found A Z nails on Yelp and how nice it is a few miles from my house. From the reviews I decided to set an apt with Helen. In short she is amazing. She took the time to explain the process and how she takes extra effort not to damage natural nails. The first manicure she gave me lasted 3 weeks and the only reason I needed to go back was due to the nail growth. My nails still looked shiny and fresh. I've since gone back and got an American gel manicure and LOVE it! Love my nails and so happy I found Helen!! read more

Woo! I came to this place after searching on Yelp. We saw some of their nail arts on here, which made me wanted to come in. I came in with a good idea of what I wanted and got something better than what I expected. If you want holographic + shattered glass design done, this is the place! See picture. It was $12 for basic mani + $5 for design. Also note that they have you pay before service. When we first came in, we got seated within a minute after choosing our colors but ended up staying for an 1 1/2 due to how detailed and precise they are with their nails. My friend got her nail done by Kimmy and I got my nails done by another Kimmy. The nail technicians are very nice and hilarious, especially the younger Kimmy! She was talkative and upbeat which made the experience more fun, but when there was quiet time, they played instrumental music in the background which made it very relaxing. Helen is the manager there and she finished my friend's nail who wanted a leaf drawn on her nail. Helen freestyled it and it was amazing. She's very detailed and takes nail as a form of art, and didn't rush the process at all. If she wasn't satisfied with a nail design, she would redo it. Honestly I had higher expectations for this salon. I went in on Friday July 9 to get a full set. On Saturday July 10 & 2 of my nails were breaking off !!! So I went in that same day and this lady fixed them. Later on at night one broke !!! So I went in Sunday AGAIN!!! to get it fixed and guess what Today July 14 2 of them pop off. I'm never ever coming back and I will not be recommending them. Not to mention they charged me $45 for a messed up set and they charged before they even did them like wtf. read more

I went in for a gel manicure on my natural nails ( which happen to be long), one nail broke so they were uneven. I told the nail tech that I wanted them all cut to match the broken one but said she could fix it so I agreed. That is until she said I had to pay her $40! I was confused because I wanted a gel manicure that is $25. When I kindly refused the "fix" she proposed she became upset and said that wouldn't look pretty. I insisted that she do what I asked and she did but with an attitude. Once she began applying the gel manicure I selected a silver holographic nail polish color. I was I love with the nails and had disregarded the attitude I assumed she was having a bad day. The NEXT day my nails ( 7 nails to be exact) had cracked. I returned to the shop and showed them and nails and asked to speak to the manager. The lady at the front said the manager left and began talking in her language with the other employees who all just stared at me. Obviously they were talking about me. She takes a closer look at my nails and says " yeah, that's because of the color you chose." I didn't believe her because I had gotten holographic nail polishes from this location in the past ( one month prior). I then went in the next day to my nails fixed. The same lady who did them was told she had to fix them. I wasn't too pleased to have her again. But she did apologize. She began to file down the top layer and simply add a layer of nail polish and top coat and said she was done. They were "fixed" in her opinion. While I sat there getting them fixed the manager and the other employees just talked in their language and gave me dirty looks. The NEXT day they cracked again! This time horizontally since that is the way she was filing down the top layer. I will not be returning to get them fixed and continue to waste my time and damage my nails. I am not around harsh chemicals at all! I am a broke college student who will NEVER return to this shop and encourage anyone who values the money they spend on their nails to do the same. I do recommend Artistry Salon and Spa! The gel nails last me a whole month without any chipping or CRACKING! read more

Worst French pedicure I ever got ! The big toes are powder & super uneven . I asked for a curved cut on the French nails and look how sloppy this is . I only paid $83 for a full set and pedicure so I guess you get what you pay for . I called them early Saturday morning for a same day appt for a Mani/Pedi and they took me in right away. Located in the Home Depot shopping center on the corner of Meadowview and Pocket next to Baskin-Robbins. Greeted me right away as soon as I walked in,super friendly ladies. I went in with a design in mind I showed them what I wanted and they made it happen. They do ask you to pay up front which made it hard to gauge what you want to tip since the services haven't been completed yet, so I recommend you take cash for the tip. Ok I'll start this off with saying that I'm pretty satisfied every time I go-- whenever I get a full set, Kimmy is amazing! A few of the other ladies have also helped me and I've been happy like 90% of the time. However, this time around I was super disappointed. I went in to get my acrylic removed and then get a gel manicure because I knew my nails would be weak. I must never come when this nail technician works because I'd never seen him before. I've never gotten my acrylics off because I will typically let them come off on their own so I don't know the procedure for taking them off but I thought maybe they'd soak them or something. He started by cutting them shorter and then brought out the drill to file them down and he hit my cuticles twice which really hurt. Anyways, then I thought he was going to soak them but instead he just used a nail tip to go under the acrylic and popped them off. There were a couple times he kept pulling a nail and it felt like he was going to rip it off. If I would've known they were going to be taken off like that, I would've done it myself, at least then I wouldn't have been in pain. I also hoped he was going to at least spray some alcohol on the cuts, but he didn't. I contemplated leaving after the removal but decided to just go through with the manicure and the shape wasn't what I said ok to and it was uneven. The polish coats are also bumpy and ended up on some of my cuticles, but since it's gel I can't really just use nail polish remover to fix it up. Overall, I was extremely unhappy this trip, but I also don't want to leave 1 star for a single incident. I'll just make sure to get one of the other technicians next time because like I said before, I'm usually really satisfied with them. read more

Finally!!! I have found my nail shop close to home! I discovered A Z Nails from Yelp reviews and figured I would give them a shot. Luckily, my first visit there I got Helen :) She's been my go-to ever since! I can only speak on Helen as I've ever only had services completed by her. I suggest you make an appointment as they can get pretty busy! Helen is very thorough and she definitely takes her time. I can show her any picture and she can recreate or use it to create something even better! The shop is clean, quiet, professional. They do require payment before services. I actually prefer that so I don't have to dig in my purse after my services are done, but instead I can just get up and go. If you live in or close to the Pocket area I highly suggest you drop in! I get compliments on my nails all the time, thanks to Helen! read more

I just found out about this place about a month ago through recommendations. Let me tell you, I went to get my nails done the first time and left completely satisfied that I started planned my next session immediately. Peep my Halloween nails that was free-styled by one of the manicurist. Customer service is great and overall great energy from all the employees. Everyone of them will socialize with you and make you feel like you're part of their family. They take their time and make sure they perfect every nail. If there's a minor flaw, they will take the initiative to fix it without me even mentioning anything. It's hard to find a good spot to get my nails done but I'm definitely happy that I found the perfect place. read more

Helen laughed when I told her this but OMG getting my nails done at A Z Nails has been life changing! I used to be so nervous of getting cut by rough or careless nail techs and basically the whole salon environment is just very intimidating to me. But since I've started going to A Z Nails, I haven't had anything but excellent experiences with the staff there. With Helen, I can relax and trust that she will do a beautiful job. Not only is she talented, she works with gentle hands and makes such great company! Anne, Phillip and My Li are also very nice to work with. Cleanliness is another thing I'm concerned about so it's comforting to know that the tools at A Z Nails are sanitized and sealed before each use. It totally makes the experience nice and relaxing. SO if you are on the market for a new nail place, I 100% recommend giving A Z Nails a visit! You won't be disappointed. read more

I was very happy with my pedicure and especially with my full set acrylics. I didn't get the name of the woman who did my toes but she was very thorough. MyLe did a wonderful job with my full set (light pink powder color), was very keen on details, and very sweet & friendly. I appreciated her thoroughness & making sure I liked them! They make u pay up front. What if they do a bad job and u want refund? They can say no and there's nothing u can do. Pedi was just ok. I had to do way too much coaching. She refused to get callouses completely off because she was scared. Ridiculous. Fill took forever because I had to keep coaching her too. I got short coffin nails and apparently she thought it was impossible even though I showed her a picture. She also started someone else's nail when I went to wash my hands. When I got back she asked me to wait two minutes which was more like five. So unprofessional. Will definitely not be back. read more

Had an appointment for 2 pedicures at 6 pm on a Weds with Mai & Ann. They called at 5:30 to ask if I could come in at 6:15 instead. I agreed and showed up 6:15 to a packed house. There was no where to sit due to a bunch of kids and there only being like 4-5 seats in the "waiting area" anyways. Didn't get seated for another 10 min, then had to wait 15 min before someone was able to even come over and start. I'm not even sure if it was Mai or Ann who gave us the pedis, which is even more upsetting. What was the point of making appointments if I still had to wait and may not have even get who I asked for. My pedi didn't necessarily feel rushed, but the massages were only 3-4 minutes total (2 different massages for package 4). She went to town with the cuticle clipper, so my toes burned afterwards for the rest of the night. I'm glad they didn't get infected! My bf got a better massage from the older lady and he just got package 2. Definitely go to the older lady, who seems to only do pedis. She puts in work on the massages! I was happy that they didn't rush to finish mine because they were supposed to close at 7, but they had taken in like 5 people at 6:45 so they clearly weren't going home on time. Basically, they need to learn to turn people down or tell them to come back later in order to better serve customers, especially the people who make appointments because they definitely take on more than they can handle in a timely manner. Also, it might look clean because it's in a new building, but they seem rather uncleanly. I don't think any of the tools were cleaned in between customers (when would they have time to clean the stuff anyways?). They got good reviews so I really wanted to like them, but I won't be back. No apology for being so behind schedule or anything.. read more

I found my new go to spot for my nails! Helen is the best! I have my nails done twice by her and each visit i left satisfied. She shapes my nails exactly how i want it. I will definitely be back the next time I need a manicure or pedicure. Also, I love shiny and glitter and this place has many selections on just what I need. I have given them 3 chances and I really want to like AZ Nails because it's close to home. But after paying for a gel manicure and the tip before the service is done, asking the manicurist for rounded edges 5 times, and then continuously telling her my nails are being filed crooked, I gave up. All the nails on my left hand are slanted and I'm going to have to go back to ask for them to be fixed by someone else. Pictures don't show how slanted and bubbly they are. I'm so disappointed, hopefully they will fix them without a fuss. We shall see. read more

This has always been my go to nail salon since it's so close to home. Today, I called as soon as they opened to see if the had nail technicians available. They told to me to come in. I arrive about 9:30am for pedi and gel mani. They got started on me right away, I didn't have to wait at all. They were not busy and it was quiet in there. FYI - They had a policy change and require customers to pay prior to the services. I decided to pamper myself and choose AZ Premier Pedicure. Everything included was amazing. I enjoyed every moment of the pampering from the paraffin wax, sea salt scrubs, hot marbles and even the hot towel. The nail technician was a very sweet older lady (I didn't get her name) but I was not happy with the end result of my painted toes. I didn't bother checking them before I left the salon, because I have never had a problem before. After I arrived home, I was able to take a closer look and it looks a bit sloppy. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the pampering experience. I even tipped a 20% without realizing how my toes looked. I don't want to go back there to ask them to fix it. But next time I will make sure I double check their work before leaving the chair. The nail technicians should also double check their work. Philip was my gel mani technician and he did an amazing job! I had two cracked/broken nails and he use glue and some powder to seal it so I wouldn't have to cut it or have it break more. He recommended I shape my nails oval since they compliment my fingers and hands. I love the end results. Looks like I have found my nail technician. The pedi and gel mani took almost two hours to complete. I left around 11:15am. To my surprise they didn't get busy until maybe around 11. read more

I went here because it's closer to my house compared to my other nail salon I normally go to and wanted to try somewhere different. Okay Okay Okay.... long overdue for a review! I have been coming to AZ nails for the last 2 or 3 yrs and Nancy has been doing a marvelous job with my gel Manicure and pedicure. I'm very particular with how I like my feet and nails done and she has it down to a T so when I come in I can just choose my color chill and relax. The atmosphere is always mature and relaxing. So if your in the area and need a mani/pedi stop in and check her out! Although I dont get acrylic nails... Kimmy does bomb nails too. read more

The nail tech immediately starts using acrylic powder. I stopped her and told her my nails are T.A.P hybrid and that's the fill I wanted. I've spent a long time repairing my nails from acrylic damage and I actively avoid it (I even think I have a sensitivity to it because my nails hurt every time). She basically brushed it off and told me she "had to" use powder anyway. At that point I should've walked out, but I didn't want to cause a scene..big mistake. Then comes the pricing. Their own website says acrylic fills start at $45+. So explain to me why I'm being charged almost $80 for an acrylic fill?? Yes, I understand designs and French tips cost extra, but that price jump is ridiculous and not clearly communicated at all. When I questioned it, the guy at the front looked at me like I didn't know what I was talking about, talked to someone else, and then came back with $71 like that was supposed to make sense. No explanation. No accountability. Just attitude. I paid and left because I wasn't about to argue in a room full of people, but let me be very clear. I definitely will not be giving this place a third try. Between the lack of communication, ignoring what I asked for, and the sketchy pricing, this place is absolutely not worth it.

The lady (Rowena) is a recent addition to this salon/spa, acting as the in-house manicurist/nail technician with her little business named "Rowena Nails." The place was pretty quiet when I dropped by. Greeted by 2 other ladies sitting down, waiting for their next hair client. I stated that I had a 12pm nail appointment and they called out to the back for a little Filipino lady, Rowena. The salon itself is a little plain/simple. Doesn't quite feel like it should be called a "spa." Anywho, Rowena was extremely friendly and welcoming. She only had a handful of options to choose from in terms of manis/pedis/gel but i guess that is a good thing because that should mean she's fabulous at her menu items. There are only two pedicure chairs and one was being sanitized from the look/faint scent of it. That is a plus! (You know those little "nail factories" just rinse their foot spas out because they don't have time to properly sanitize and soak the station - they need to get another customer in it right away! YUCK!!!) I began with the "Relaxing Lavender" pedicure. She soaked my feet in a lavender infused bath as she prepped her equipment. The smell is so relaxing! She was gentle and rough when she needed to be. Clipped and filed my toes; and did an amazing job at scrubbing my feet with the pumice stone!! She uses new nail files and pumice stones for each customer. Plus - she lets you take it home to bring back next time. But, who am I joking? I always forget to bring it back with me. She made sure to thoroughly scrub and actually feel my foot to see if there were any areas that needed extra scrubbing/smoothing. I wear a lot of flats to work and she went to town on my heels and sides of my heels. She definitely takes her time, so maybe opt for the express pedicure if you're crunched for time. She also did a lavender scrub/exfoliate on my feet and legs. She told me to not shave my legs before I do scrubs because a scrub (obviously) removes dead skin cells and by shaving your legs prior, the scrub can cause irritations due to the recent shave of hair/skin. So informative! She rinsed off the scrub then applied a cooling masque to my legs and feet. Rinsed off my feet/legs again. Lastly, she applied the lavender lotion to my legs and feet and gave me a great massage. Not like a heavy duty/deep tissue massage but the best I have ever received from a nail technician. She really takes her time to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. I didn't feel rushed at all. Paraffin comes with the pedicures but I opted out because its summer time, there is no need for that additional step. She then, with a cotton ball rubbed a little acetone on my toes, which was to remove any oils/lotion on my toe nails to ensure proper nail polish stick-ing. Now, I am a super picky person. A perfectionist. The nail polish was applied to my toes and at first I was a little upset (in my head) because some of the polish got on my cuticle/skin. Rowena could tell that I was closely watching her and she reassured me she would take care of after all the polish had been applied. She sure did! She took the time and care to make sure the extra polish was removed and she made sure to ask me if I was happy with how it looked. I pointed out a few more spots and she happily cleaned it up for me. That is what I call amazing customer service!! I forget to mention, she even gives you a pair of the toe separators to take home because she does not re-use hers! PLUS! Lastly, I got the gel manicure. A lot of people don't know that gel polish/manicures are "dry" ones. Meaning, they don't soak your nails and they simply cut/file and push/trim cuticles because of the harsh gel that is essentially chemically glued onto your nail. Once again, Rowena took her time filing my nails to the specific length and shape that I mentioned I wanted. Always be vocal about what you want/don't want, never assume they can read your mind. Rowena is more than happy to do exactly what you ask. She didn't have a huge selection of gel colors yet - maybe 20-30? She did mention that she was new to the salon and was still in the process of receiving her products/orders. I choose a perfect tiffany-like-blue. Took 3 coats to get the color to a fabulous layer. She has 2 curing UV light machines so the process goes pretty fast. All in all, this was a great experience. Customer service is amazing. Quality of service is on point. I'll definitely be making this a regular spot.
