Poki Monster - Poke Near Me - Brea, California

Bit pricer than other places, but I really liked their seared fish options. The seared albacore is good, but I especially liked the one behind it in the display window {sorry, forgot what it was called!!}, it had a nice peppery touch. I also appreciate that their spicy tuna, is served in cubes and not smashed like many other places! They also offer kale!! My go to order is half rice, salad tho! read more

Forst time at Poki Monster. It far exceeded my expectations. The food was fenominal, can't believe the quality and quantity for the money. This will be a regular stop for me when I'm in Brea, CA read more

The best Poki in OC and great prices. Generous fish cuts and free avacado. Fish is always fresh and juicy. Friendly staff.

Fresh and affordable. No lines either. It is located in a tiny plaza, might be easy to miss. It's well worth every penny spent. Highly recommended. read more

Great poke and they dont skimp on their servings (compared to other poke shops around the area). Service is always friendly. If theres any tip i would suggest avoiding lunch times... it can get very busy but that just shows the place is two thumbs up. read more

This place is amazing!!! I love coming when Andrew is here. He always has a great attitude when I come in. Great food with great atmosphere!

I like this place more than PokiNometry in a few ways. First off, the bowl that is used. At PokiNometry it's in a higher bowl vs a wider bowl at monster. I find poki monster bowl is so much more easier to eat. Secondly, poki monster have more topping option and sauce :D The quality and size of the fishes are the same. Thirdly, this place feel cozy to me. Unlike Pokinometry, I actually want to dine in poki monster. Prices are the same. I like the service here also, I actually had a conversation with one of the worker. I would pick this over pokinometry any day. read more

Food is very great, I always enjoy eating there it's probably the best poki in brea city

Disappointed. This place is overrated. I'm giving 2 stars because it was clean.... I was excited to accidentally find this place when I drove into this plaza to get a snack at 7-11. I walked in and the place was super empty and dead....which is probably why it was so damn clean. I looked up at their menu and set-up and realized it was identical to Pokinometry's format...that alone worried me because I wasn't a fan of that place. I gave it a shot anyway. I ordered regular [3 scoops] nachos....tuna, spicy tuna, and spicy salmon. I watched the dude do his magic with the sauces and mix it up. He mixed it with such flare...gave me hope that this was gonna taste great. Magic failed....there was zero flavor even with the avocado, sesame seeds, furikake, and ponzu sauce I added. My spicy items weren't even spicy...it was all very bland. Worst part? My chips were so stale. I should've known they'd be bad since they were just sitting out in a tray, but lil ol' me always gives the benefit of the doubt. I probably took about 5 bites before I just trashed it. Damn...9 bucks wasted and I'm still hungry. Who knows...maybe it was just a bad day, but come on...stale chips that probably just came from a bag they bought at Smart & Final?! No bueno. I'll stick with North Shore or Poke District...they're more authentic and actually have flavor. read more

I do like that youre able to put a lot of toppings in your bowl but everything is a bit flavorless including the sauces they put on top.. This Poke place is not bad, but nothing special either... Just poke and rice when you're craving it. plain and simple read more

I chose to eat at this location because I was craving Poke and Poki Monster was the closest location to where I live. When I watched the servers scoop little scoops of fish into the poke bowl, I was a little dismayed because I thought that the portions would be a little larger. At least from what I remember, Pokinometry servings were a bit larger...but that could be false memory. In any case, I did get a good amount of avocado which was no extra charge for the first serving (other places would charge for the avocado). I thought that based on serving size, I would still be starving after I ate... but low and behold, I'm satiated and my craving has been settled. Would i come back again? Sure, but because it is close by and the quality is good. The current price of the bowls are standard around Orange County. read more

I'm so excited that this place has open up!! I'm always looking for a good poki place. They had a great variety of options and the fish is super good! I like that they take the time to mix the fish you want with poki sauce. The only bad thing is the parking but it is worth the hassle of parking. read more

Poki Monster - Poke Near Me - Brea, California

The Poke craving hit my sister and I hard one afternoon after a good work out so we tried this place out because it was close by. It was a good decision! The fishes are fresh and not mushy like some other poke places I've gone to.. There are also a lot more side selections to chose from at no additional charge. The prices are average, around the price of most poke places. We'll definitely be coming back here soon! read more

Poki Monster - Salad poki bowl with salmon, tuna, and yellow tail, mango, cucumbers, nori, seaweed salad, avocado, and crab meat - Poke Near Me - Brea, California

The only reason this place is getting one star is because yelp doesn't allow you to put 0 stars. But oh man, the older Asian lady that works there has probably one of the worst attitudes I've ever encountered, and I've experienced it on at least 3 occasions. I get people have bad days and have personal stuff going on in their life but she always has a scowl on her face and is rude and likes to argue with the customers every single time i go here. This past time i went was the WORST customer service I've seen. I asked for spicy salmon as my protein and she said "we have none" and pointed to the empty pan, and i said "well i know you make it so could you please make some more" and she said "well it'll take lots of time" and i said I'm in no rush. She was very irritated and rolled her eyes and she was so upset that she made the spicy salmon WAY too spicy and inedible, all because i asked her to do her job, not to mention it took less than 2 minutes for her to make it, so i know the time excuse was bs, she's just lazy. My husband and I couldn't even finish our bowls cause it was too spicy to eat. Also I've read other reviews and I know I'm not the only one that has experienced her terrible attitude. read more

This is a good fast Poki place in Brea. They have a good selection of fish and toppings. The service is fast. It is a definite go to for a quick bite to eat. read more

Poki Monster is so yummy! It's like a Chipotle for poke. You get to choose a base (rice, salad, nachos), then what fish/seafood, then the toppings. Everything was really fresh and it was fun to make your own poke bowl. I don't know if you can just get the poke without all the other stuff though. Price wise, it's comparable to other poke places. Definitely a must try! read more

Poki Monster - Poke Bowl with salmon, spicy salmon and ahi. Sides are cucumber, avocado, and krab. - Poke Near Me - Brea, California

In love with this place. I'm very picky about my sushi & the quality of this place is great. For $8.95 you get a regular bowl which is a LOT of food. You might think the fish scoops are small but then you get toppings like crab, avocado, seaweed salad & more. It all adds up to a deliciously filling meal. The staff is friendly & helpful. Server Jade is very nice. I highly recommend coming here. A regular bowl ends up being 2-3 meals for me & I love every one of them! read more

Poki Monster - Regular bowl with salmon, tuna & spicy salmon. - Poke Near Me - Brea, California

Fish tasted fresh and the options were good. I'm not a big fan of the types of places that use ice cream scoopers to calculate portions. A bit of a turn off and reminiscent of elementary school cafeteria days but otherwise the food was good. Sauce options were nice too (spicy mayo, ponzu, etc) Servers were nice and restaurant was clean. read more

YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!! Have always been devoted to maui poke in Cerritos but was in the brea area and decided to stop here and get 2 Large bowl to go. REALLY GOOD SIZE for your money's worth. Hubby and I actually could not finish tour large bowl and trust me, I CAN EAT FOR A GIRL. I ordered the salmon, spicy tuna, albacore, tuna and scallop. Got all the toppings.. and since it was my first time here, did not know which sauce to go with. The guy behind the counter was very nice in recommending what was popular. went with spicy mayo, ponzu and volcano#1, and it all came perfectly together!! more selection on the fishes than most places and all toppings are included!!! I'm definitely coming back and NOT only if im in the area. I am willing to and Will make the trek here just to eat their POKI bowl. I've already send out my mass text pictures of the bowl to all my friends. Love Love Love this place!!! read more

I tried Poki monster for the first time today. Store was clean staff was friendly. I ordered my fully customizable bowl and they used the smallest scoopers for the fish I got like 5 super small pieces of fish for each scoop. The fish was fresh and the flavors were good but it just wasn't a good value. After eating it was all rice at the bottom fish was gone. Pokinometry in Anaheim is a much better value and is a less money. No wonder there wasn't anybody there. Don't think this place will last, what a shame cause it's close to me. read more

Great inexpensive , healthy lunch break! Portion was good. Large bowl is the way to go. Could have been easier on the sweetness (Ponzu) other than that, a solid 4 on the taste meter. Tried the Ahi and Salmon. They pile on the toppings if you ask! read more

This is the first poke place in Brea and i was so happy when they opened. Their ingredients are fresh and portions are generous. The wait is not that bad too. I tried 3 other poke places that sprouted here in Brea and i still come back here. My only gripe is there are few parking spots. read more

the only poki place i recommend. fresh fish and good ingredients ! i have tried so many other poki places and i always end up eating fishy fish. poki should not taste fishy, but this place exceeds all other poki shops. read more

Yes another poke bowl review. It's my thang right now. Poki monster has your typical poke fanfare with the exception of extremely generous portions of avocado. While some places include it at no cost and others charge extra just for a small slice, poki monster adds a monster sized portion! They are conveniently located but parking isnt the greatest. I would definitely recommend and will frequent again. read more

I thought all toppings were OK. When we got there, they had run out rice and the person helping us just got a bag of rice that I guess had been cooked... it was odd since all the Poke places I have gone they cook white rice off a steamer. The rice was so cold and made my teeth hurt. The person helping us wasn't friendly either. Giving it Theo stars because the spicy tuna and albacore were good! read more

Absolutely hands down my favorite poke spot. Chipotle style assembly line, where you customize your bowl. Owner and staff are awesome. Parking is a little cumbersome. Don't park at 7-11. read more

I never really write reviews but after experiencing the things I had just read about in most recent review, I felt the need to echo. This place is incredibly stingy with their fish portions! I got a regular and they gave me about 2-3 pieces per kind. Though the toppings and sauces offered a nice and different variety compared to other places, at the end of the day, it's about the poke. Whats the point of the sauces and toppings if theres nothing to coat them or eat them with?? I highly doubt I will ever come back, even if poke in North OC is sparse. read more

Another poke spot that serves poke bowl's chipotle style. This one is unique in that they have a variety of toppings, ranging from the basic imitation crab, avocado, onions all the way to pineapple, corn and even jalapenos. Whether you decide to just get one topping or all the toppings it's the same low price. A regular bowl (3 scoops of fish) costs $8.95 and a large bowl (5 scoops) costs $11.95. Definitely not a bad price for the portions. Their spicy sauces are also really good for those that like a bit of a kick with their poke. Definitely come give this place a shot, you won't be disappointed. read more
