Our server immediately got us waters and asked if we wanted anything else to drink (wife and I both got some delicious beers that they had on tap). We had our little one in tow with us and they were so accommodating to him! As soon as we were ready, our server took our order. We got: Chowder "frots" (fries and tots mixed in with some New England clam chowder, bacon, onions, cheese, and other goodies) 10/10, would definitely order again. My wife got the lobster roll with a side of clam chowder. Loaded with lobster, but you do pay the price. Labeled as market price, this was almost $40. Delicious, but not worth it in our opinion. 6.5/10. Pan roast (house specialty which came with shredded crab, shrimp, clams, and muscles). This, topped with rice, was heavenly. Better than any pan roast I've had. Came out ripping hot as it should. My wife was envious of my dish. 10/10 From the kids menu we also ordered the chicken Alfredo. My kid loved it, but my wife and I both had a bite and wow, we would've ordered that for ourselves it was so good. 10/10. We can't wait to come back just for the food. On top of that, however, service was above and beyond. The servers and everyone in the restaurant were so accommodating to us and our child and made us feel so, so welcome. We would come back even if the food was bad, solely for the service we received. Vibes we great, decoration on the walls look like they hired an artist to paint it. They had two TV's behind the bar / prep area that was showing NBA and PGA which I'll never complain about. All around 10/10 experience.

We ordered 6 oysters of the day, the jambalaya, and the Dive Chowder. The oysters were fresh, cleaned properly, not fishy. It was sweet and juicy and paired really well with the green/red/horseradish sauce they gave us. I am typically not a fan of raw oysters, but these were acceptable and I would come again if I were craving oysters. The dive chowder was delicious, and they did not skimp on the clam. Each spoonful of chowder had at least 2 pieces of clam. It also came with 3-4 pieces of shrimp. The spice level ranged from no spice, mild, medium, spicy. We ordered medium spice, but it was not spicy at all. Just a small kick of spice. I will try spicy next time. The jambalaya was good, it came with shrimp, mussels, sausage. However, my boyfriend did not like it as much because it was too tomato-y for him, but I like tomatoes and it was homey. I do want to mention though that the flavor is rich and can become heavy after a few bites. Overall, they are generous with the portions. The server we had was kind and gave us a tablet to view the menu since there was poor connection on our phones when we were unable to pull up the menu on the web.

The food was amazing, fresh and tasty. This place is exactly what the Brea Mall needed, but our server Benny took the experience to the next level. But, I wanted to be a little bit more hungry, so we decided to walk around and then cross the street to find our place in Water Grill. So we crossed the bridge that connects the mall to the other side where the Water Grill lies and with the heatwave we are enduring as Californians, the walk felt like a trek through Arizona streets. I have never been to Arizona. But now I do not have to, apparently. I had called the joint before but they told me they were absolutely book for the night. I have lived long enough to know that place in a crowded restaurant is sometimes a matter of finding a crevice to call one's own. But a crevice is sometimes found only through efforts. The staff was prepared to show us options, one of two bars, and seating in other areas of ther expansive restaurant. I think there were three options and all of these were in the avaiable areas. They did not try to find me a table in their main dining rooms, which is fine. I did enter as a peasant looking for stale bread. Ronnie, my friend, did not want to sit anywhere where the heat was abundant, but luckly on our trek through the bar we found a group departing. Those seats were for us. People were barely getting up. I was almost the tazmanian devil, but contained, I did not want to lose these seats which meant for us, to another person who needed those sits. I am not sure why but I was acting like a bridemaids during a clearence sale for her best-friend's desired gown. I wonder if this happens in real life or I am imagining a scene from a movie that made women savages when it came to low priced clothes? The stools had food rests. My feet did not hang. A significant plus! The crevice had been found, and, like mice who had found their cheese, we were ready to split food and giggle like rats as we did! It was a superb meal! At one point, I combined the gnocchi, with the halibut, and smeared the chimi, and ate it in one mouthful and the proceeding pow was a blast from the present to the taste buds. The Delorian arrived and parked in my tongue, is what I am trying to say. Our server was Diana. And I thought that she would be more familiar with the fact that Diana was the real name of Wonder Woman. So I am making some lame dad jokes, even though I have not fathered any children, about Amazon and Thymescara. And she politely nodded but later found out that she was not connecting my jokes. But I guess dad jokes can be like that. She was also really kind of cool as a server. For instance, Ronnie wanted to enjoy mac and cheese. I ordered but then I walked and saw their beautiful ears of corn and wanted some. Ben eut we were informed that we had enough food and the corns probably would not be needed. Diana accomodated the request of swapping the mac for the corn. I wanted no chili. Then corn on the cob came with chili. She said that she had put in the order. And then a second order of corn came without chili. Ronnie, being the pure angel she is, was like Do you need the chili corn back? And I was like, now we licked it. Simply because I feel that the restaurant would be tacky to deliver a wrong side and then ask for it back. Like for the prices you all be charging, they can let us absorb the cost of their mistake. Both ears of corn were left. The real kiss on my birthday from the universe was that I was allowed to have an entire side of the gnocchi for 16 dollars. It came. Now there was enough for Ronnie to share. I will admit that before a gurantee of more gnocchi I was wondering if they could share. We also got a tri-flavored cookie with ice cream with a sea horse cookie with ice cream. It was great. Exceptional even. And the garlic on the brussels, I am glad I am not the king of the undead. It was pure perfection and it was how I believe a lobster roll should taste. The clam chowder was also perfect in flavor and had a good amount of clams. It tasted homemade and not overly salty. If you're paying a pretty penny for it, at least they came through with a generous amount. The crab roll though, that one completely fell short. I wasn't too bummed since I was way more locked in on the lobster, but the crab just wasn't there. I don't know if the crab itself just didn't have the flavor this catch around, but it tasted like watered down salt with a little bit of butter. So yeah, that one was not great. Lobster and shrimp though, wonderful. The clam chowder was also really good. I added a little pepper just to give it an extra kick and a little bite, and it was great. The staff were so sweet too, super welcoming and helpful, especially since it was our first time and we had no clue what to get.
