Hit the work gym hard and needed some clean protein, so I stopped by Bay Poke and it did not disappoint! I normally order all salmon but today I decided to try two scoops salmon, one scoop smoked salmon, yum! If you like lox, try the smoked salmon, its great :) The helpful staff let me know the tofu, tamago (sweet egg), and avocado are extra charges, but I didn't mind at all as maximum protein was my goal. Topped with masago and green onion, this bowl was delightful and perfect for my post-workout meal. Enjoy!

I ordered a large poke bowl on Uber Eats. The order came with the rice and the meat separated. I thought they did a wonderful job with the separation and with the concern of their food making it to the customer in perfect freshness. This made me like Bay Pole a lot more knowing they think about the delivery of their food. The food tasted fresh and the rice came still fresh and warm. It was made perfectly to order. I will definitely be ordering from them again! Delicious!!

Calamari salad, salmon, and soya sauce tuna poke

I doordashed from them considering they were #9 on the seafood list and I've got to say that they have fresh fish. I have poke 1-2 times per week so I consider myself somewhat knowledgeable. Although the house sauce and the fish were very delicious the avacado (which you have to pay extra for) was bad. It was dark and just tasted and looked in a way that ruined the taste of the fish. It was placed in a way that the darker pieces were hidden beneath the greener parts. I understand that I ordered almost around closing time but I'd recommend not adding avocados if you ran out of ripe and fresh ones. Especially since I saw there are a lot of negative reviews around the greens and avocados. The rice/greens come in a separate bowl than the other ingredients. It a personal opinion and taste that I like all the ingredients properly mixed and added on top so that the rice/greens soak up all the flavors and I think it's a great option to add. To sum up the fish and ingredients were delicious but more attention should be payed to the quality of greens/avocados.

This has to be my favorite poke place in Irvine. Their fish is always fresh and is better quality than other restaurants. I also love how diverse their menu is. A lot of other poke restaurants will only serve poke, but this place has boba, ramen, and they just added katsu and grilled salmon to their menu. I tried their pork katsu on my most recent visit and it was honestly amazing. The pork was cooked perfectly and the breading was very crispy. It came with a side of rice and salad, and even had two gyoza. I definitely think it was worth it for the price. Plus, they're currently doing a BOGO special, so I got two katsu for the price of one which was great. I also ordered the pork ramen which had 3 slices of pork and an egg. The pork had a smoky flavor and the egg yolk was the perfect texture. The broth was very flavorful and I liked how it was packaged separately so the noodles wouldn't get soggy. I think the service here is excellent. All the workers are really nice and they get my food out quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's seating both inside and outside, but it can get pretty packed during lunch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, I love the variety in their menu and I can't wait to try their other katsu dishes like the chicken katsu and shrimp katsu the next time I visit!

Great quality of salmon and great portion size. There was a buy one get one free deal which was so worth the price. All the ingredients tasted very fresh and one bowl was at least two servings. I was very impressed!

I ordered a medium size tuna bowl. The tuna smells bad (maybe not that fresh?) and there was an after taste. I ended up not eating the whole thing-- and was a waste. There's opportunity for improvement on food quality and service.

Restaurant was low key dirty and almost turned me off from purchasing. However I was in a rush so decided to pop in. The cashier was really helpful, funny and accommodating. The bowl was delicious. No wilted lettuce here! Looks like they read some of the reviews. Would I return? If I was in a pinch yes. However, I don't like messy restaurants... especially when they serve raw fish.

It was only ok. Kinda expensive for what you get. I would rate this more as a 3.5 but since 3 is too low I rounded up to a 4. Salmon was ok. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not that much seating inside but outdoor had plenty of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Decent service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice interior.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Is the Tofu Ramen option vegan-friendly?

    Yes

So, is the poke here worth my money or not?

IMO, yes. It's one of the better poke places around, and at a lower cost as well. Definitely give it a shot.

I walk up to the counter and the kid working there--who looked like he was barely out of middle school and couldn't even bother to take his airpods out--asks what I want. I look at the menu board, which is incredibly confusing, and I just order the Spicy Ahi bowl because I like a little kick to my food. I figure it's like a spicy chicken or cooked fish taco bowl. I watch the guy scoop some rice, put some vegetables in, and then he reaches into a container and scoops out a bunch of pink cubes. I thought maybe it was marinated tofu or something that was going to get popped into a microwave or a toaster oven behind the counter. But no. He just slaps a lid on it and hands it to me. I took it to a table, opened it up, and picked up a piece with my fork. It felt cold. And slimy. I took a bite, and my jaw hit the floor. IT WAS COMPLETELY RAW FISH. I walked right back up to the counter and told the manager, "Hey bud, you forgot to cook my lunch. This fish is completely raw, it's a major health hazard." The kid literally looks at me, blinks, and says, "Sir, it's poke. It's supposed to be raw." Are you kidding me?! I don't care what hip millennial trend you call it, you cannot serve people uncooked seafood in this country! I asked to speak to a manager, and some young woman comes out and tries to explain to me that poke is a traditional Hawaiian dish of raw marinated fish. I told her I don't care if it's from Hawaii or the moon, I am not trying to get salmonella or a tapeworm on my lunch break. I work hard for my money, and I expect my food to pass through a heat source before it hits my plate! They refused to put it in an oven or even a microwave for me, and they wouldn't give me a refund because they said the food was prepared correctly. Unbelievable. I ended up throwing the entire $18 bowl right into the trash can and going to the restaurant down the street where they actually understand how to cook meat. Save your hard-earned money and avoid this place at all costs unless you want a one-way ticket to the emergency room for food poisoning. I will be contacting the local health department first thing Monday morning. Utterly ridiculous.
