The line was outside of door at 6:30pm, this is usually a good sign of the food quality. I have had poke before in Hawaii so I figured I would like it. The set up is like Chipotle or Cava where you create a bowl with various options. For my base layer did white rice and salad. Then for additions got spicy salmon , avocado, pineapple, edamame, white onion, for protein got spicy tuna and spicy salmon, for sauce got Uroke medium spicy, and for toppings got green onions, garlic chips, crunchy onions, fish egg (forgot what they called them). I described my bowl as an explosion of flavors. The dining area was clean easy to get a table as most people ordered to go and from DoorDash. Been coming to uroko poke for years now. We were on our way to a show at the orange coast college planterium and wanted a quick dinner before we went to the show. Uroko poke was close by with good food. I like their program of having people write their orders on the check sheet so that everyone gets exactly what they want. This restaurant operates assembly line style where you choose your bases, proteins, vegetables, and toppings. I got a 2 scoop bowl for $15 with salmon and tuna. I haven't had a poke bowl in a minute but I was eager to try it out. The prices were pretty expensive. 2 small scoops of poke for $16. The bowl is packed because they put so much of the base, which in my case was rice. For my protein, I got ahi and yellowtail. Both were fresh. They also have a good selection of add-ons and sides, but the poke itself was nothing special. I will say, it's awesome that the crab salad, seaweed salad, and avocado are not charged extra. read more

Stopped by on a Sunday around 7 PM and was in and out of the ordering line in about 10 minutes, which was impressive considering how busy it was. I built my bowl with a half white rice, half salad base and chose crab, spicy crab, avocado, white onion, cucumber, and corn for the toppings. I appreciated that avocado didn't cost extra. For protein, I went with double salmon and eel. The salmon tasted fresh and was easily the best part of the bowl. The eel was fine, but nothing particularly memorable. I had it all with the Wasapon sauce, which added a nice creamy kick without overpowering everything else. I also added green onions, fried onions, garlic chips, and masago. The only thing I'd point out is that the masago portion was pretty small, and extra costs more. We didn't try any of the drinks, although they had a decent selection available. The total was a little pricier than I'd usually like for poke, but signing up for their rewards brought the price down enough that it felt more reasonable. Parking was easier than expected. The lot was almost full, but we still found a spot without much trouble. Service was friendly and efficient throughout. Also to note, the single lane driveway entrance to the parking lot is a bit of a mess. It's also a steep driveway (low car friends be warned). Uroko is pretty solid poke option in the area. It was my first time checking it out, and I liked it. What I thought was nice was in the toppings, they have an "extra spicy" chili oil. As a spicy connoisseur myself, I highly recommend. What I also liked is that they have so many options when it comes to toppings (including mango and pineapple, heck yeah). Another thing that I thought was nice was they mix your fish and toppings together before putting in your plate. That way, you don't need to mash everything up together yourself. The only thing I didn't like was how small their fish portions are. For the price, I get way more fish for a couple bucks less at Poke Tiki and fish quality is exactly the same. They are very generous with all their portions. Everything looked and tasted fresh. I got the three protein plate and my husband got the five protein plate. I do wish they gave a little more fish per serving but it was very tasty and fresh. The veggies were fresh too and I like that there was an option to opt for spring mix or broccoli instead of (or in addition to) rice (white and brown rice offered). Uroko is a fantastic poke spot. My friends and I are always down to go. I appreciate how they're consistent with quality and portions. Salmon and yellowtail are tasty! I liked the Wasapon sauce, which was like a mild wasabi ponzu. They also offer drinks and sushi, but I go to Uroko for the poke. Price-wise, it's decent for poke in SoCal: $17 for a 3-scoop bowl, and I'm usually happy and full after eating the whole thing. I believe avocado didn't have an extra charge, which made me even happier. Staff are efficient with their assembly line workflow, so the wait in line doesn't take too long. Indoor seating looks and feels worn with the scratched up, wobbly tables, but at least it's available and not cramped. Parking is tricky most of the time because it's a small lot shared with other businesses. Many spaces are specifically for the pub there, and sometimes people are waiting in their cars for the next open spot. I guess you could park at the Mitsuwa plaza next door and walk over. read more
