I was craving poke since it was a nice sunny day. I've seen this poke spot but never came in until today. The portions were so small. Other poke spots usually give double the scoop compared to this place. I probably got 3-4 pieces of salmon and tuna in my bowl. The older lady, I'm assuming is the owner, came out from the back and stared at the worker helping me out. She was making sure that the worker gave not too little and not too much scoops. The salmon tasted a bit fishy, which I hate. I'd rather drive further to a different poke spot then come back.

That's not my bowl.

I am really not happy about putting this up. I've been to this poke joint a couple times but the last time was a while ago. I was at a Dr appointment that happened to be close by, so I decided that I wanted some poke for lunch. Big mistake. I wish I could've picked someplace else. Walking into the space, I did not feel welcome. Inside you'll find it very clean with several tables available for dining in. Two young men, were behind the bar for the poke bowls. One older lady worked the cash register. Honestly don't know why they require three people there as the area behind the food was very small. The food section is the width of a two person sofa/love seat. I always order a large bowl no matter where I go. I do this because I eat half and the remainder on the next day. Their large bowl is the same exact sized bowl as another poke place that I frequent. I started off with my base of brown rice. It was a very thin layer. This is where my jaw drops in disbelief. A large portion has four scoops of protein. That's typical. I watched this gentleman scoop slowly, making sure it was EXACTLY FLAT across as to make sure not a minuscule extra piece was given. Four times. I then asked for toppings of cucumber which was thinly sliced. I got literally six. It's in my picture. Count it. Crab meat was one small scoop and I mean small. Avocado was an extra $1 which I'm used to, however, look at the scoop. It is TINY. I've been to other poke places. They do not give you tiny scoops of crab or avocado like this. Additional toppings were fried onions, seaweed (again a TINY amount), ginger (literally one mouthful). I requested for spicy mayo and ponzu. I also requested for extra sauce on the side since I could see how there was barely any sauce. When I got home, the extra sauce was in small containers not even halfway full. Like...why are you so stingy? I paid $18 something for this with tax and gave a 10% tip for this to-go order. I was really disappointed and irritated that I had to pay so much for such a small portion. They barely have any toppings. No joke. Look at my photos. This is not even half of the toppings available at other poke restaurants. Anyway, I got home and ate my lunch. At first I thought, hmm...not bad. BUT then I started noticing multiple bites that tasted like the smell of dirty aquarium water. I was so grossed out. So, not only were they stingy, now my food tasted like a dirty fish tank. I was so mad. I couldn't eat it. All in all, I am not returning here again. Customer service was lacking, they were stingy, and $18 for dirty tank water tasting food is absolutely not worth my money. I hope I don't get sick from what I actually ate. I really wanted to like this place. Genuinely. I almost forgot...the lady who handled the register I believe is the owner. Not friendly. Scolding a worker and watched them like a hawk. I felt uncomfortable for them. That could be why everything was such tiny portions. She takes the "finished" bowl, packages it and rings you up. It's a way for her to eyeball how much the employees give.

Stopped for a bowl after surgery. I was wanting something fresh and light. The bowls we got did not disappoint! Great portion size and very flavorful. My 5yo son gives a 10/10 and a completely agree!

Large bowl with salad base, salmon poke, seaweed salad, edamame, crab salad, and masago.

I love this place because the fish is always fresh. The staff is super nice, and whenever I order from Door Dash, I get my food in 20 minutes or less. Definitely the best poke in the area!

Delicious poke at a reasonable price. Bonus points for being less than 5 minutes from my work. My new go-to! I don't crave poke often but lately I've been eating quite a bit of fried food, so I needed a short break :'). The thought of poke came to mind. Not looking to dine in at the restaurant I placed an order for pickup so I could snap a photo of my meal as I enjoy it in the privacy of my tinted vehicle. I customized my poke bowl with the following: white rice, furikake rice seasoning, salmon (x2), spicy tuna, sesame oil, crab meat, cucumber, seaweed salad, edamame, ginger, kizami nori, and last but definitely not least, volcano #2 sauce. How did it taste? - Poke Bowl: I was pleased with my choices. Everything tasted fresh and went well together. I have a good tolerance for spicy food but dang, this volcano #2 sauce had a decent kick. It was a satisfying burn in my throat and my stomach. The bowl was almost $20 but was worth it. It was a decent amount of food, definitely enough to fill you up. Plenty of rice and everything else. Go give it a try!

Really great poke spot. I've been a couple times and the tuna is really fresh. Service is also on point. Portion size is just right.

Although they have bowls (or bowlz? :P), we usually opt for their build your own burritos. Yes, it's a bit messy and falls apart after a few bites, but something about it feels more substantial? I usually also add fried wontons for that extra crunch. They have a rewards program, worth signing up if you plan to come back. Easyish parking, just depends, pretty high traffic strip mall.

Shoutout to Michael! He was warm and did not rush any of the people before or after us even though we all arrived about 20 mins until closing. He was very patient and helpful when the diners in front of us had questions about the sauce and had a few special requests. We ordered 2 medium bowls with 3 scoops of salmon each. I really like how they offer both spicy and regular crab meat to choose from. Was also a fan of their wasabi and wonton strips. We really enjoyed our bowls! Very refreshing and tasty. There are a few tables inside and plenty outside. Will be back!

My coworker had told me about this spot and I'm glad I tried it!…read more After a mile run, me and my husband decided to get dinner here. We were greeted by Steve. Very friendly, attentive, and a busy bee! It was nice to see regulars there for dinner as well. Food was great. I got their Caribbean roll and Lover roll. Both very big sizes and delicious. We'll definitely come back again! Thanks for a nice first dining experience Sashimi team!

A little disappointed. I'm usually not one to leave negative reviews, especially for Japanese…read morerestaurants, but I feel like they have potential to do better -- which is why I wanted to leave an honest review. FYI -- no photos because we were busy with a cranky toddler. First, the service was genuinely great. The sweetest lady helped us with the menu and served our food, and we really appreciated her kindness. We were also given complimentary edamame, which was thoughtful, although it was bland, dry, and cold -- almost like it had been sitting in the fridge for a while. Since it was complimentary, we didn't think too much of it. For the mains, we ordered the beef teriyaki and chicken teriyaki bento specials. Unfortunately, both proteins were sliced extremely thin. The chicken especially had a jerky-like texture, and both the chicken and beef lacked flavor. After reading other reviews, they had similar experience. The teriyaki sauce itself was also pretty bland. The tempura was okay, but the tempura dipping sauce tasted watered down and lacked the usual savory depth you'd expect. The one standout was the roll topped with salmon and avocado with spicy tuna inside. It was presented beautifully and tasted fresh and well-balanced. Based on this, I honestly think rolls are what they do best. I really hope they improve the preparation and seasoning of the chicken and beef because it was a major turnoff -- and this is coming from someone who eats pretty much everything. It's hard to justify paying around $22 for a bento when the main protein feels flavorless and insubstantial. With so many good Japanese resto in Lake Forest, I would skip this until the proteins are fixed.
