Arrived about a half hour before closing on a Saturday, and they was only one other customer ordering. Workers were very nice, and happily answered all our questions. They mix the sauces and items together, separate from the base items, which is interesting. Everything tasted fresh, and we were definitely satisfied with the amount of food you get with their bowl.

This place is soooooo good!!!! I was so pleased with the price & the amount of food and the taste. It's $15.75 for one sized bowl, 3 meats, but Includes avocado !?! The workers were so nice, they were just so happy to be there The vibe is so cool, the ac works so good, so it felt so nice on a hot day. The only reason it gets 4 stars is because all it's missing is seaweed salad !! That would've made this place 10+ stars!

THIS IS MY TOGO POKE SPOT! I love this place so much I go every time I finish class. For $16 dollar poke bowl you get two big scoops of fish and all the topping you want AVOCADO INCLUDED . I recommend heavily. Their sauces are gas!!!

The fish is just so incredibly fresh. You're not coming here for a poke bowl with a bunch of fancy sauces and toppings, you're coming here for QUALITY. I also love that jasmine rice is a base option. Great selection of Hawaiian sodas and Japanese teas to go with your meal in the fridge. You won't be disappointed.

I decided to come here after reading all the 5 star Yelp reviews (and Poke Wave has appeared in the Top 100 restaurants on Yelp a few years back) and I'm happy to say that Poke Wave lived up to the hype and was delicious! You can choose either a regular bowl (3 scoops of protein and add on an extra scoop for $2) or a Kids bowl. They have many selections for the base: white rice, brown rice, salad, chips or 1/2 and 1/2. They offer tons of yummy add ins and toppings. I like how they give you avocado for free while other places don't. All of the fish was good quality and fresh. I recommend their "Medium" sauce which is a mix of ponzu, eel sauce, sesame oil and spicy mayo. It was delicious! Service was super friendly and efficient. The restaurant was clean and had plenty of seating inside and outside. Overall I'll totally be a return customer!

Local gem nested in the plaza across from Mission Viejo city hall. Menu was very straightforward: $15.95 for 3 scoops of poke. The topping offering were very standard to what you would expect and size of the bowl was also pretty standard (just enough for a meal)! They gave a good amount of fish which I appreciate. My only complaint is that I wish the fish was more cold and that there was more sauce.... Otherwise very solid poke spot! The staff were also very friendly and patient. Small indoor seating space but there's very nice outdoor seating in front of the store.

Wanted to try out a new poke spot and found Poke Wave! Upon entering, it feels a bit dark and narrow inside. The menu is written on the side and behind the workers so you have time to decide before ordering. They offer the standard toppings. Crab meat and avocado are included. I like how the avocado is actual avocado and not that store bought avocado mix that some places offer. If you're easily overwhelmed by too many sauce options, they keep it easy and simple as you only have to pick your spice level. I did see them put a lot of sauce on my bowl however I may need to ask for extra sauce (even though it's extra) because by the time I went to eat my bowl it had already absorbed so it wasn't as saucy as I prefer. I had the tamago, salmon, and tuna. Tasty and fresh. I had a bit of a hard time eating the bowl because the bowl they use is on the smaller side. The portion itself is still the same as other places but it is really packed in the bowl so I had a hard time portioning my fish to rice ratio to avoid the food falling out of my bowl. Would be no issue if I ate this at home and poured it into a bigger bowl. I would come back! Great pricing, tasty food, plenty of parking, and friendly workers.

Came here for lunch, and the poke was solid, but nothing extraordinarily special. The base, fish, and toppings were pretty standard. The regular bowl is $15.75 for a choice of 3 proteins. I got a mixed salad with the salmon, tuna, and albacore. One of the salmon pieces was really large, but the other fish pieces were pretty small. The salmon was my fave - super soft. The tuna and albacore were also pretty soft/fresh. The amount of fish for the poke bowl was pretty good. I got all the complimentary add ons (crab meat, avocado, onions, cucumbers) and some toppings (furikake, ginger, edamame). I got the non-spicy sauce. It would be nice to have seaweed salad as an add on option. Overall size of the bowl was standard, not very large, but enough for lunch.

Super simple no frills place! I had been a bit hesitant to try this place out because a few of the recent reviews commented that they are stingy with the fish and the toppings but I did not have that experience at all. My friend and I both got the poke bowl w 3 scoops and the workers were so generous especially in the heaping scoops of fish they gave us. I think there was just about a cup of fish with the cucumber, onions, and the sauce mix ins! Would come again if I'm in the area :)

Was craving poke for some time. Came across this on yelp. Gave it a try. Service was quick. I took it to go. The gentleman behind the counter was super friendly and welcoming. The ambiance- place looked clean but dark on the inside. The portion size was good. Wish they had more sides and toppings but overall worth trying.

I visited PokéWave around 4:30 pm on a Thursday. There was no line at all, & they had plenty of seating both inside & outside. The two employees who helped us were super friendly & accommodating. I ordered a kids bowl for myself, & my mom got a regular bowl--everything was delicious! I think that the kids bowl is the perfect size--just enough if you want something satisfying but not too big. I paid about $37 for both bowls with tip. I've been coming to Poke Wave for years, & I miss the complimentary miso soup, but I get it since prices have been going up. I love that they're right next to Menchie's, so you can grab a sweet treat after your meal. I also appreciate how close they are to the library--perfect for picking up dinner after a day of studying. Will continue to support!

I've been here many times and they are the best poke spot I have ever tried! They stack on the ingredients, first scoop of avocado, crab meat are free! Every time I come in I am greeted with a smile and great service.

Excited to find a poke place close to my new house. I have been searching for good food spots after moving a few cities away, and glad I found a great poke place. We were enthusiastically greeted by a couple of friendly employees, I let them know it was our first time and that I was looking for a good poke spot and they were excited to have us try them out. It was refreshing to have great interaction with employees who put our bowls together, and they really gave such a great vibe even before we tried our food. Lots of great options for our bowls, and next time I'll go with spicy, the medium didn't have much spice at all to me, so I'll not be so worried about spice next time and ramp it up. Fish tasted fresh, great portions, and even a fun cream cheese topping I haven't seen at other poke spots. The bowl looks deceivingly small, I dumped it into a large bowl at home so I could go at it better, and it was huge, I had to save some for later. Love that they gave a jasmine rice option as well! Place was super tiny, but clean and there was spots for us to sit and eat there if we wanted, but we were doing this to-go. I'll be back for sure, and soon. Happy to find my local poke spot!

In terms of the presentation of the restaurant, it is not very clean. Especially when you're dealing with raw and fresh fish, you are hoping to have a clean environment to eat in. Tables are not cleaned off frequently or well, and the floor has all of those sticky, strange spots where something wet happened to it and it didn't get washed. The drink station as well was very untidy. When you go to throw away your food, there are two open air garbage pails next to a plastic bus bin sitting next to the drink station, which cannot possibly be up to health standards. The food is where my "disturbing" statement is made. To start, I am gluten-free and was told they have gluten-free sauces. What they actually have is tamari soy sauce, chili oil, and spicy mayo. All of the other specialty sauces are gluten. That's fine if the food was incredible. Unfortunately, the bowl I had included shrimp and ahi tuna as well as a number of vegetables and sushi rice. The ahi tuna was the type where you have to spit most of it out because you can't actually chew it. The shrimp are the tiny little bay shrimp and had a weird texture. The vegetables were fresh and the rice was OK. When everything was mixed together, it made this dark brown mushy mess that was put on the rice with some pickled ginger thrown on the side. It was not pleasant to eat, and I almost threw it away. I was on my lunch break though and didn't have time so I had to eat it. I wish I could say you should eat here, but unfortunately, it was unsatisfying, made me worry about my stomach for the evening, and not a good experience.

However, given the prices and what they're serving, I would much rather pay a few dollars more and eat at an actual restaurant rather than experience here, or, for a similar place, I would choose CA Fish grill. All in all, my husband and I paid $70 for a sub par experience. He got the blackened snapper, which was quite decent, but I got the grilled snapper, and shook the salt shaker more times than I usually do. They came with 2 sides. The ceviche was the strangest ceviche I've ever eaten. It had a metallic taste with very large chunks of fish. It didn't taste anything remotely close to what ceviche is. Fresh, bright, and flavourful. All we could taste was the sour from the lemon/lime. Our friends got the poke bowl, which was reported to be good, and judging by the look - appeared quite fresh. This is surprise considering how many places in OC seem to be of excellent quality - it's quite the competition here. The food might be okay for some, but for a regular counter order place that was just a hair under casual - no thanks. The place is small and tight, bathrooms are located outside (not affecting my view of the place but it others are interested), you have a between $25-30 fish plate served on melamine plates and cheap flatware - I just can't justify the cost. This is regular casual restaurant pricing at this point. But the biggest thing is that the taste is just so so, limp, flavourless sides that needed sauce or salt, not to mention I see them using bottled sauces like terriyaki. The service was okay, uninspiring, but again, it's a counter order place.

There's also a wide variety of sauces including spicy mayo, spicy ponzu, garlic ponzu, eel sauce, etc. I can see it being intimidating if you're new to the poke world because it's a lot of sauces to choose from or combine together. The selection of actual toppings is pretty standard with the usual go to - seaweed salad, faux crab, cucumbers, furikake, etc. What stands out is the portion size. They use the same ice cream scooper as other places but unlike many places, they do 2-3 scoops of the ice cream scooper per protein and the amount of crab salad they give seems to be about 2x as well. So all in all, it's actually a very filling bowl as far as protein is concerned (versus filling it up with a lot of rice or lettuce). They also have sushi rolls in a case by the cash register and they seemed to range from $6.95 to $8.95 which is a nice grab and go option or if you're not hungry enough for a whole poke bowl. I just saw on Yelp that people were able to get kid sized bowls. I didn't see that available on the signage so I'm not sure if they have that anymore (or maybe it's a secret menu item). For me, I'm not counting macros, so I like to bounce around the menu depending on what I'm in the mood for. I usually go back and forth between hand or cut rolls and the poke salad, but sometimes I get a little adventurous and get my own sashimi. Overall, my repeat favorites have been the poke salad, spider roll, salmon lemon roll and anything with yellowtail. My typical go to is anything with salmon sashimi, but Koko's yellowtail is so buttery that I'm a new fan of anything with it. Even as regulars, I still look forward to having a meal here. Plus, the price is unbeatable for their combo meals and it's very reasonable. The combination meals come with salad, miso soup and rice so it satisfies and fills the tummy.
