Nothing special. I'm a poke fan but something about this place is a little lackluster. The topping choices are kind of plain compared to the other places I frequent, and when eating my bowl, I couldn't think of many ways to describe it other than bland. It felt like something was missing and was mostly overpowered by the imitation crab they add for free in every bowl. I wish they had better sauces to tie everything together. It wasn't worth the $12.50 for a small. The best part about the experience was the service (the person serving me was nice!), but that isn't enough to raise my review since the main reason I come to a restaurant is the food. read more

I don't know how this place has good reviews at all. I think the people that are giving high ratings have never really had amazing poke before. I ordered food from here and I feel like I just wasted money. They are very stingy with the protein, they barely put cucumbers in my bowl, the bowl is made of a material that just soaks up all the sauce, so it's tasteless. I recommend going to Poke Bar in Cerritos. Not only do they have more items, They give you your moneys worth and the taste is way better. read more

Super basic poke bowls and the sauces lack depth and flavor. Could barely eat it halfway through. My real gripe is that you can get a small bowl with one protein (comes with imitation crab), but in the small you can't mix a base. This is strike one - very frustrating since other places are happy to do half salad half rice for my base, but not here. Therefore, I had to opt for a medium which comes with 3 proteins. Howeverrr, if you get the medium - strike 2 - the imitation crab that is considered a protein and is NOT complimentary like in the small, so I felt like I was getting gypped. I was only able to add 2 other proteins because of that. That's really bad optics to me and enough to turn me away. Not a good first experience and would not try again. read more

Service is slow, I enjoyed the food for the most part, but this is probably the most basic poke bowl place. I totally dislike complaining and writing bad reviews but rice is the staple of a poke bowl and when the rice looks like it was scraped out of the bottom of a dirty rice cooker, it ruins the experience! Stumbled upon this place at the Hangar in Long Beach. I'm a sucker for poke and if that's an option, I'm going to get it. The protein selection is limited compared to other spots I've been to. They've got the basics: tuna, salmon, spicy tuna, tofu, shrimp, albacore, octopus. I did notice that imitation crab meat is considered a protein instead of an add-on side. Each scoop is about an ounce of fish--small, but not terrible. Their selection of toppings seemed limited, basic. They have a great sauce selection! Fish was okay quality, not the best and not the worst. Overall, mediocre poke. Perfectly fine. If I could give more stars I would. Yes, the place was nice and clean. Yes, the workers were friendly and courteous. Yes, my poke bowl was fresh and delicious. But that's not why I'm writing this review. As they were building my bowl, I could see into the kitchen. There was a girl cutting tuna/salmon - a big piece of fish - with a knife. So why is this such a big deal to me? Well, y'all. My sister is an investigator for the FDA. She won't eat at Poke places because, mostly, the fish comes in big bags, pre-cut. Two things wrong with that. One: there isn't a way of knowing where the fish came from and two: it's usually processed and cut under unsanitary conditions, put on a boat and shipped across the sea. Doing it this way is much cheaper and less time-consuming than buying fish in large chunks and hand-cutting at the shop. So you can imagine my delight when I see someone cutting an actual piece of fish. Bonus points if it's been flash frozen. Bravo to Poke2 Grill for not skimping on the good stuff. I can imagine the rest of the food is chosen and handled with as much love as the fish. Finally a place where sis can eat poke! read more

This place has many options to choose from! The medium size is a little pricey at $13.95 for 3 scoops of your choice. Their house sauce is the yuzu ponzu sauce which I got on the side as well as the house spicy and spicy mayo. The girl helping me did not charge me extra so I was very happy. The toppings and ingredients are build your own so you have lots of options. I was surprised to see carrots as one of the options to add. The bowl is pretty shallow so it was hard to mix everything together. Overall, I was pretty pleased with the poke bowl, the salmon was very fresh and bouncy. read more
