Cheapest chop sticks ever, splinters of wood barely longer than a plastic fork.

I got their large "signature" poke bowl, which came with fruit, avocado, and 4 scoops of fish. The fruit was delicious. The bowl was mostly rice, which had more flavor than the old and flavorless fish. Usually I can barely finish a large poke bowl, this one was so tiny that I left hungry and bought more food elsewhere. Their approach to quality was shown by the chopsticks, 2 rough skinny cheap splinters of wood barely longer than a plastic fork.

I ordered a signature poke bowl with 4 scoops of salmon + an extra scoop on the side through doordash. The portion sizes didn't really reflect 5 scoops unless they have extremely small scoops. I only added seaweed salad, crab salad, and cucumber as toppings. One of the few poke places I have been to that just throws the toppings together. The picture is how I got the poke bowl when I opened it. The flavor was okay at best and fish was just not as fresh.

Quality/Quantity - Two poke bowls, see pictures. Both were good, single serving quantities. Tiger Roll. Alaska Roll. Atmosphere - Small local family run restaurant. But a fairly large parking lot. Not sure if there are other businesses that use this parking lot...? Many security cameras throughout the business and parking lot. Semi open kitchen. Bathroom in the back, you just have to ask. We did not use it. Open 6 days a week from 11am to 8pm, closed Sundays. Service - Counter service. Or a self service kiosk. Mostly to-go customers, we were the only customers that ate here. As first time customers, it would have been nice to have more direction. We asked many questions on what their process and procedures were. Price - $55. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2019.

First time coming here did not disappoint! We ordered the chicken katsu plate, teriyaki chicken plate, shrimp tempura roll, spicy edamame, and the pot stickers. Everything was delicious the only thing I thought was ehh was the salad dressing. We would definitely come back!

We didn't expect too much at the beginning, but everything turned out really good! We did order the waffle fries and they tasted so good--would be perfect with a little more dressing. We did also get the Dragon Roll, Lion King Roll, and Tuna Roll, and they were all fresh and delicious. The guy was super nice and even gave us some salad . We all love the food! Definitely coming back!

When you walk in you can order at the self serve kiosk or go up to the counter to order. The inside is small but had enough tables. They also have a parking lot where you can park so you don't have to find street parking when it's not busy. I really liked the sauce on the chicken fries. It was savory and spicy and had good flavor. The fries were not soggy at all but I wish there was a little more chicken. The regular poke bowl was so good. It was fresh and had good flavor! The wait was around 25 minutes for to-go. Would definitely come back!! Total price: $24.37

They have their own parking lot which is a huge plus. When you walk-in, you order from the touch screen. Service is meh... no one comes out to greet you or anything unless you're a DoorDash/Uber Eats order. I ordered the spicy chicken bento which comes with rice and salad and choice of sushi. I picked spicy tuna roll. I paid $13, which is very reasonable for all the food you get. The spicy chicken is delicious. It's not drenched in sauce like most places. It's just marinated and grilled with a nice char. The spicy tuna roll was pretty good too. Not dry or stringy like some places. Overall good value and I'll be coming back.

We found this place while searching poke in San Leandro. It was a weekday so very empty and definitely a hole in the wall. Right when we got in, no one was in the front, but we heard chatter in the kitchen. They said they would be right there. We saw some paper & pencil to fill in what we wanted so we did that. The prices are definitely cheaper than other poke places so I see the appeal. It took a little longer than I expected. We both got the poke sauce (spicy), a regular and signature bowl. For proteins, I got hamachi, spicy tuna & shrimp and the spicy crab as a base with brown rice and salad, Anyway, the sauce was way too salty and overwhelming, especially at the bottom. I think they went too heavy on the sauce to where you can't taste the fish. I was not impressed. I've had much better food & service elsewhere. I don't mind paying $5 extra for quality.

3.5 stars rounded up It's a no frills sushi spot and it's relatively cheap so I'm not complaining. Rolls could be wrapped tighter cuz it does tend to fall apart when eating. The rolls are pretty big; one roll fills me up and I have leftovers for later. I usually order ahead and it's ready for pick up in 10-15 mins. I come here if I don't wanna go far for sushi and it does the job

We've been passing by this place ever since they opened. The timing was just never quite right for us. We are definitely particular about our poke. There are only a couple of places on the mainland that we really enjoy getting poke from. There were other customers when we walked in close to 1pm on a Friday. The two employees that we saw looked like they were doing prep work to get ready for the dinner rush. We were greeted when we walked in, and we were directed to where the menu was posted. There are order sheets for those who plan on ordering poke bowls. Just place checkmarks next to whatever you want and hand it over when you're ready. They'll verify what you want, ring you up, take your money and then make your order. Service was friendly and all of our questions answered. Once we ordered, she paid and waited inside while I went outside to walk the dog. We didn't time it, but it seemed to take an extraordinary amount of time for our order to be ready. Once we got our orders, we took them home for lunch. California Rolls - 3 - By appearance only, this was a 5. However, once bit into it, the score dropped. Why? There was no seasoning on the rice. It was quite literally, seaweed, rice, crab, minimal mayo, and black sesame seeds. The seasoning mix for the rice usually consists of unseasoned rice vinegar, sugar, sea salt, and kombu (dried kelp). When my wife makes sushi rice, she uses a wooden bowl and sprinkles the seasoning liquid onto the rice while turning the rice and I'm standing there waving a fan to cool the hot rice. Yes, it is labor intensive, and I've replaced my labor efforts with an electric fan. Every brand of mayonnaise has its own distinctive flavor. Fans of Best Foods usually don't seem to care for Kraft. Kewpie, Japanese mayo is very different from American mayo. Her Signature Poke Bowl - 5 - She absolutely loved her bowl. All of her flavors were on point, and she really liked the ponzu sauce that she had chosen. My Signature Poke Bowl - 4 - I wasn't in love with my bowl. I found the crab mix and some of the fish to be too cold. For food safety reasons, refrigerated foods need to be kept below 40-degrees Fahrenheit. For maximum flavor, the fish should be a bit warmer, some say just below body temp, some say just below room temp. I did really like the fruit that came with the signature bowls, avocado, mango and pineapple (at no additional charge). Would I try them again? Yes, I would get another poke bowl there. Then I would force myself to wait a half hour before diving in so the fish could warm up a bit. On the California Roll, I'd probably pass.

It tasted amazing and the chicken katsu was extra crispy and perfectt! Their sushi is great, which I ordered a california sushi roll. Their poki bowl was very fresh and the fruits were delicious. The service is amazing, super nice people. The ambiance of the restaurant is pretty cool because they have a nice painting in front, right when you walk in.

Yum! One of the best poke bowls I have had in a while. Ingredients were fresh, portion size was generous, and flavors were yummy. I got the signature bowl and customized it to what I like.

I work across the street from this cute little restaurant! Their prices are great! They offer poke bowls, teriyaki entrees, sushi rolls, and hand rolls! I ordered the Rock n Roll (unagi and avocado), and was able to customize it a little bit and add some masago on top. The portioning makes sense for the price you pay, and the fish tastes fresh! Super friendly workers and kind environment. read more

Super fresh takeout during COVID! Delicious and a very filling poke bowl with fresh form fish. I went with the signature bowl while my bf got a regular bowl. I did like the mango and avocado additions and will get the signature bowl moving forward. We forgot to get soy sauce and red sauce so remember to ask if you're taking it to a park to eat. read more

Tried takeout from Poke Kitchen a few days ago when I was craving California rolls. Admittedly I was hunting down affordable options, but to meet the minimum delivery requirements I added a pork katsu to my order. All in all, I wasn't super impressed by the pork katsu (extremely thin slices of meat) but the California roll was average but well priced at $4.95. I would recommend avoiding the pork katsu and go straight for the poke instead which has fabulous reviews! read more

If you love good sushi at an affordable (less than most places here) then you've got to try them! Beautiful, flavorful, high-quality fish, and the rolls are well done, sizable and the rice is delish! (that rhymed!) We also love their poke bowls! We used to go to Fat Fish but their sushi is sloppy, not great quality, cheap cuts of fish (thin/awkward cuts), thrown together to barely hold together. They do have a bigger selection however. Their prices are the same as Poke Kitchen so now we have no reason to go to Fat Fish....Instead we go to Poke Kitchen and get better quality for the same price! I'm looking forward to when the owners add a few more rolls to the list! Thank you for being our neighborhood sushi/poke go to!! read more

I've ordered 3 times from this place since COVID. Food has always arrived really fast, my order has always been correct and everything has always been really tasty. I have gotten the poke bowl, the lion king roll, the salmon avocado hand roll, the chicken Katsu bento and the teriyaki chicken bento. Their raw fish are always very fresh and I think the portions are very decent for the price. Will definitely order again! read more

Recently, I have been going to San Leandro couple times a week and at first I was bummed bc I did not know if there would be good food up there (good food makes me happy). Boy, was I wrong. Someone recommended this place and every time I am in San Leandro, I go there (literally I have been eating here 3 times a week). One time I ate the poke bowl 3 meals in a row (lunch, bought it home for dinner & ate there the next day for lunch again, lol). First of all, I have a very weak stomach so I am very careful w/ where I eat but I have not gotten sick once (knock on wood) so I know their food is fresh. Second, how do they keep their prices so low? $12.50 for a poke bowl? I literally have to pay $19 in San Jose area now a days and less portion size (every place in San Jose has increased their prices so it's very expensive to eat out lately). Their Lion king roll is one of my favorites too at only $12? (also, they give generous 8 pieces for most of their rolls-some places only give 6). Their bento boxes are a steal too (so much food) & I really like their miso soup (I get the large container for only $4.50!). Third, the taste of their poke bowl is something so delicious I just can't explain what it is. I LOVE their octopus salad and I get salmon & shrimp & mix it w/ spicy mayo and their house sauce (it is soy sauce/sesame oil & secret ingredients). It's so good and no other place has the perfect taste of their house sauce. One tip-- the first time I got the bowl, the lady put too much dressing (which I don't like) so the next time I went, I told them no extra dressing and it was perfect. Fourth, I have yet to find a poke place that has homemade red cabbage, yellow daikon, real seaweed & even kimchi if you like kimchi. And the icing on the cake is their THAI TEA! It's legit the best Thai tea I've ever had. I drink boba tea EVERY day. I never miss a day unless I am sick (very bad addiction), but I will give up my boba tea for the day when I get their Thai tea (b/c it's that good). The traffic driving to/from San Leandro from San Jose is a nightmare but Poke kitchen is the one thing I look forward to when I have to go up there! I am so mad b/c I can't eat poke anymore in San Jose area (I used to eat it 1-2 times a week in San Jose) b/c I think poke kitchen tastes so good that I can't eat poke bowls anywhere else now... :( read more

Ordered from Poke Kitchen through DoorDash and it was such a delight! I had to stay in the clinic for a webinar and didn't really want to eat what I had brought so Poke Kitchen saved the day for me. They're like any other Poke kind of place but their portions are just HUGE! A medium poke bowl is pretty much a large elsewhere. I ordered a scoop of salmon, tuna, and shrimp. Everything tasted so fresh. Their house miso sauce is not overpowering and the side veggies brought it all together. Wish I had taken a picture of my beautiful bowl but I was so hungry and couldn't wait to eat it. 5 stars for the delivery, food, and presentation. Thank ya! read more

Usually at a poke place you can only get poke and usually at a sushi place you can only order sushi but this place offers both sushi and poke, this place is decent there gav you huge portions and its pretty fresh fish, and its very cheap for what you getting this will be my new to go place when my fat ass wants poke n some sushi rolls read more

I'm not one to write reviews, but I feel it's worth mentioning that I stopped by Poke Kitchen today around 1:30 pm for lunch and decided not to go in because staff was not wearing a mask. The staff woman looked at me and then proceeded to put her face over the rice she was stirring... Needless to say, I went back to my car and didn't go inside. Another guy who was about to walk in saw her and did the same thing, went back to his car. We both left. I guess masks required inside doesn't apply to them... I won't be going here again. In response to the owner's reply below: When I arrived and was about to walk in, the staff was already not wearing her mask and she was not at lunch. When I went back to my car after seeing this, I was parked right in front and it was approximately 15 minutes before I left. The staff woman was not at lunch and continued to not wear her mask while she was doing misc. tasks. And as I said she made no attempt to put on her mask when myself and the other guy attempted to make our way in. read more

So i was craving for poke bowlsince i was in the area..This place pops up as 4.5 star, i figure i give it a try. I am just so happy that there's Yelp, helping people out to find awesome place to eat ..So this place is along San Leandro's main road.. it's the only store in the area with pretty good parking...Walked in and I was greated byban amazing worker Fernanda, i felt so at ease. Just love it when i walk in an establishment and i get greeted.Fernanda mentioned that the business just opened up about a month ago.Anyways they are $1 cheaper than Poke Salad place in Alameda, but Alameda's has a square container so that's the reason why theirs more. They give pretty generous portion. Just love to compare places, but over all experience they are good in their own ways.A must try place...Thanks Fernanda, keep up with the smile and amazing customer service you provide. read more

i absolutely love poke and this place hit the spot! i got a poke bowl with salad, shrimp, salmon, and squid salad. the serving size was quite large! big enough for me to split into 2 meals or share with a friend and i like the assortment of toppings they had. i also had a bite of a hand roll my friend ordered and it was great! crunchy and soft at the same time and the fish tasted fresh. if i was in the area more often i could come here more for sure read more

Pleasantly surprised with the food here! It's a small place and the customer service is great! They're really friendly and they were nice enough to give us a small side of plain white rice for my daughter. The portion sizes were very generous and the fish tasted very fresh. This place is a hidden gem. The only poke spot around that still offers mango and avocado. They also have sushi dishes and some other cool stuff on the menu that I haven't tried yet. The poke bowls are always delicious, they never skimp on any of the good stuff. read more

Delicious poke bowl. Looking for healthy lunch and was delighted to find this place. Had a wonderful mix of brown rice, seaweed salad, shrimp, picked radish, edamame, cilantro, cucumber, green onion, sesame seeds. You get to pick your toppings which I love. Delish! The Alaska roll, and the spicy tuna roll, as ordered, tasted good, and were good quality; the delivery was timely, and the presentation was tasteful; the wasabi, was excellent, and I have ordered again, from them several times; in addition, I have tried the dragon roll, the lion king roll, and the crunchy California roll; all of these were also thoroughly enjoyable; I usually order from them, exclusively on Yelp, via Grubhub; but I've also ordered from their restaurant via Über Eats, and the service was still quite acceptable; timely, and polite. read more

Poke Kitchen has been my most frequented takeout spot during the pandemic. Every roll, poke bowl, and chicken katsu plate Ive ordered from them has been consistently bomb, probably because it's always the same folks working there and prepping them lol. I recommend calling the business directly to place your order since it will take some time, this place has gotten busy and you will definitely be waiting if you order at the counter. I wish I would've taken a picture but it's all gone! It was so delicious. Fresh and affordable sushi! They put the right amount of saucing on their sushi. The presentation was amazing, we had the Godzilla roll was my husband's favorite, the deep fried california roll was an great bite, spicy tuna was so fresh, california roll, a bowl bowl and the popcorn chicken was crispy and puffy my son loved it.
