I ordered a Lion King Roll and Crunchy California Roll to go from here and they did not disappoint. The order did take quite some time to be prepared but it was definitely worth the wait. It was so fresh, tasty and crunchy! I wish I had ordered more. I will definitely be back. It is a pretty small place where you would pretty much just be walking up and ordering, not dining in, so I'll pretty much have to make my way over when I am just going through the area rather then taking a trip over here specifically to eat but I'll be back for sure. read more

Customer service here is top notch. Here on a Monday after work around 6pm and no one is inside except for me. Not sure how they can get more foot traffic as they have a nice place here and I wouldn't want it to close down. Their prices are also extraordinary. I could eat here every day. It's great that they don't have much traffic but at the same time it's not since that's less business for them. At the same time, even though I'm the only person here, I've been waiting for quite awhile. They're not slow at all, it's just that they're a staff of two people and I ordered 3 rolls and a poke bowl and they make them with care and don't rush things which is nice. I think if this place had more foot traffic (maybe they're busier during lunch?) they'd have more success. I truly hope they get more business and that this review helps them get more business because it's truly a gem. read more

Hubby and I decided that we wanted to get sushi, as it's been a while since we've had it. I saw this place on the new and hot location near me and had bookmarked it. After doing a bit of shopping, I called in to place an order for pick up before they closed after lunch. Upon arrival, the staff greeted us with smiles and I told them that I was there to pick up a phone order, he told us that it'll be another 10-15 mins. I was happy that I was able to watch them make our rolls. We waited as our rolls was being made and once it was done we headed home. I have to say that the rolls were really delicious and very affordable. They did not skimp on the pickle ginger. But I do have to say that there was too much wasabi, I think I may need to tell them not to put it in next time. We really enjoyed the rolls and we had leftover of the Lion King and it tasted amazing still a few hours later when we finished it. We will be back! My boyfriend and I found this place randomly when we were going for a walk around the neighborhood. They had really affordable prices so we decided to try their poke. They have little laminated ordering sheets with the poke options and dry erase markers which you use to indicate what protein and toppings you want on your poke bowl. Once you're done filling out the sheet, you give it to the cashier and you pay the total. We were there on a Friday night and they were busy so it took a while to get our food - maybe 20 minutes? It was worth the wait though, the poke was so good! The salmon and tuna were really fresh and they gave a really big portion of food. 2 weeks later I was craving sushi so I decided to come back to Poke Kitchen. This time, I ordered sushi through yelp (grubhub) to avoid waiting at the restaurant. I paid through the yelp app with Apple Pay and once the order was confirmed it showed a progress bar of the order completion. Poke Kitchen had my order ready within ~30 minutes (as shown on the app). It was easy to pick up since they have a parking lot beside their restaurant so you don't have to look for street parking. I got the Crunchy California Roll (6.95) and Alaska Roll (5.95) and they matched the quality of the poke, I was soooo satisfied. I will definitely become a regular here! read more

I loved this place! My friend Dee took me here around 7pm the other night night since we were in the neighborhood and craving poke. Customer service was great and attentive. We filled out an order form by circling our items on laminated paper. I was surprised to see sushi and other items on the menu. I ordered a regular poke bowl which was $10! When I get poke at other places, they are usually about $13-$14 for the same amount I had here! I added the following: spicy tuna, salmon, tofu, avocado ($1 extra), seaweed, edamame, ponzu sauce, sesame seeds. The fish was surprisingly fresh, and the spicy tuna had quite a kick to it! I was super full and satisfied at the end of everything. I was impressed by the poke bowl, so I will definitely have to come back for another and try their sushi rolls as well. You can pick your base rice or salad or both, and choose between the signature bowl 3x fish or larger size 4x fish. I got the hamachi, salmon, and albacore on white rice. Then there are lots of toppings to choose from thst I haven't seen anywhere else's I really like shiso, so the shiso furikake is the way to go. Overall I would go here again. read more

3.5+ stars. Decided to try some place new and ordered delivery from Poke Kitchen. We tried their Chicken Teriyaki Combo with CA Roll, Chicken Katsu Combo with Gyoza, and Dragon Roll. Overall, the portions were nice for the price and I liked that they gave you a full portion of the CA Roll and Gyoza rather than just a few pieces. Flavor wise, the food was good and tasted as expected, but nothing out of the ordinary. Delivery was quick and on time. I did like that the sauces for both main dishes came on the side to avoid getting all over the place. We tried the Chicken Katsu and Chicken Teriyaki without the sauces and the meat was cooked well, not overly salty, but the sauces were needed. Tried out the Godzilla roll today. It was still toasty and crunchy from deep frying. Unfortunately the roll was cooked a bit too long, the spicy tuna on the inside was cooked most of the way through. I know this place is called Poke Kitchen, but I wouldn't recommend their poke here. We've tried their poke bowls twice, while it was bad, you don't get that much fish in it. I'd stick to Hawaiian poke for my poke needs. What Poke Kitchen does really well are their simple rolls. After a few visits, we go here solely for their spicy tuna rolls, Alaskan rolls, and CA rolls. Decent poke bowl place with a lot of sushi and appetizer options. Tiny place with a lot of parking- I was surprised how small it was but they a couple tables and it's cozy. Came in around dinner time and the place was empty. There were two people working the front. The lady who took my order was a little pushy about the options ("just put everything its all free!" "Sure you don't want corn?") but she was trying to be helpful. I got a regular poke bowl and the beef waffle fries. I did see the woman preparing my bowl push down the salad with her fingers which was a little unappetizing. Also i had asked for sriracha mayo just on top (hope it was just a little drizzle), and had saw the server write it down, and not mixed in but when i started eating it, and realized the sriracha mayo was mixed it and basically most of the bowl was drowned with that sauce. I didn't end up finishing it. The portion looked pretty generous, but felt like there was a lot of filler stuff and had a hard time finding the fish- which was chopped up small-ish. The beef waffle fries were pretty good- a little salty but the sweet pickled stuff they add on top balance it out well. The waffle fries were pretty crispy and good. The meat is chopped up in pretty small pieces, which I didn't really like. It was also a little pricey (5.95 for a small to-go box worth). I would try it again, though. :) Hopefully with less spicy mayo. read more

Visited during the soft opening. There's plenty of parking so far. It was pretty empty when I came in and the area was super clean and organized. Overall it's what I expected from a poke place. I got a Poke Bowl (starts $10.50) for $12.50 after adding some extras, which is reasonably priced for Bay Area standards. They gave me great scoops of tuna and salmon. Everything was fresh and the staff was very nice. I have been to a number of poke bowl places around the east bay, and Poke Kitchen is tied for first place for us (tied with Poke Koma in Alameda). Good prices, good toppings, incredibly fresh fish, and the portions are not skimpy. The staff are always busy, but they are nevertheless friendly. I've never felt like they weren't careful or didn't know what they were doing (not something I can say about the other poke places we've been to in San Leandro). I love that they also have rolls and other choices as well, and we've tried them and they are fine, but the poke bowls are what we always get in the end because they are delicious. read more

Quick service and reasonable prices, but I am sad to say that I was not a fan! After receiving a raving recommendation for Poke Kitchen, I was really excited to try their food. However, I did not enjoy the Lion King and Dragon rolls I ordered. The rice was too mushy for my liking, and the salmon of the LK was oddly chewy. Although the prices are one of the pros I can offer about this restaurant, I would have preferred to pay a bit more for better quality. Considering the awesome review I received from my friend, I think the meal I ordered may have been a fluke. I may give Poke Kitchen another chance someday..and hopefully, I can leave a better review afterward! read more

Salmon was cooked and overall way to much mayo sauce. I also prefer my poke not warm and ingredients separate so I can mix together. The bowl lent to everything mixing together. I had been wanting to try this place for the longest. I always see it on my way home.. it's the cutest little restaurant. However the food quality is terrible. I paid for extra crab salad, and barely got the regular serving. The fish has a smell to it. The taste of the toppings doesn't taste fresh at all. The price and their roll size can't be beat plus it's great I get to support local business. They even have a small parking lot for guests to park as street parking in the area is tough. Brought my family to try out this new restaurant. This place is small but cute and cozy. The food portions are HUGE, especially the sushi rolls and the Poke Bowls are actually super healthy and have a huge variety of add ons! I also love the Waffle fries with the beef bits that are reminiscent of carne asada fries, but the beef is so tasty due to its excellent marinade with a twist of Asian fusion! Love it! Dropped by just before the weekend. The service was good. They greeted us and was friendly from the start. The restaurant isn't very big. Just a few tables. The menu was simple enough. Very similar to other poke shops I have been to. I ordered the 3 fish poke bowl with pretty much everything. I was surprised at the size of the bowl. Ok seriously, dont even bother with all the other Poke spots. In terms of quality, taste, and quantity, this is hands down the best. I've been very skeptical with all the poke joints in the East Bay, I've been spoiled with poke in Hawaii; and nothing comes close except Poke Kitchen. Furthermore, their Lion King roll beats all of the sushi joints in SL, Fat fish, Angry Fish, Rock n Roll sushi combined. This little hole in the wall deserves to be around, please support them and keep this business open.
