Stopped by on a Tuesday night. Restaurant was not busy at all. I ordered two sushi rolls. Spicy Tuna and Tempura Shrimp. Presentation was decent and items packaged well. Tempura shrimp came from a frozen retail box. Breading was heavy and finished product tasted of old fryer oil. Rice had dry bits that crunched as I ate. Spicy Tuna was essentially flavorless except for the soy sauce. Could have used more seasoning and perhaps a bit of mayo to add a savory feel. Soda fountain was out of CO2, but issue was mitigated by allowing me to select from a very limited supply of bottled beverages. Total price for the two rolls and soda was about $30. Pretty disappointing visit. I'll start with the good, the shrimp tempura was pretty tasty, that is about it. Now the bad, the ordering process is not streamlined and can lead to multiple card transactions. They have a kiosk in the front where you need to order the rolls or any appetizers (tempura, edamame, etc). I ordered tempura and miso soup and then I needed to pay for it there on the kiosk, then i turn around and need to order my poke bowl where they make it. I asked if I could pay in one transaction or I can order my Poke on the kiosk but you can't. It was during the making of my Poke bowl did the person ask if I wanted my complimentary miso soup which apparently you get with a bowl, didn't catch that when I had to order on the kiosk so decided not to make a big deal but would have been nice that was mentioned when the order went through. Then I had to pay a second transaction for just my Poke bowl. The Poke bowl was decent, the miso was not. The tempura although tasty was pretty small for what you pay for. I've only had a poke bowl and miso soup from here. The miso soup was very salty. The raw fish and ingredients are very fresh and vibrant but I really didn't like the sauces with it and I don't think there was that much variety for the toppings compared to other poké places. I'm glad Poke 2U is still open thru the pandemic. I've actually never eaten in-house, always gotten carry out. They have their own website/app if you wish to carry out or order ahead (instead of using GrubHub/DoorDash). Probably about a 15-20min wait if you want it immediately. Although it's a little expensive, you get really good bang for the buck with the delicious/high quality seafood... not what you'd expect in the desert! My boyfriend and I initially tried this place as a Plan B when our first lunch option, a local Mexican place, was too crowded. I have to admit that initially I was not especially excited about going for poke after getting myself all excited for enchiladas. Fast forward to two days later and I literally woke up thinking about this place and how badly I wanted to go back for more sushi. I checked their hours online and impatiently waited for what felt like days until they opened for lunch. Second time around I ordered the Crazy Philadelphia Roll (pictures below). As I hoped, it was just as good as the Vegas roll I had had a few days before. Both times my boyfriend has gotten a poke bowl for himself and has said the quality is absolutely fantastic. They use quality/fresh ingredients, including real wasabi, fresh masago, and house made sauces. They offer punch cards too for regulars (I guarantee I'll blow through mine within a month). Stopped by before graduation on a Monday afternoon and they were pretty quiet. We ordered a regular poke bowl, regular bbq bowl, and a California roll. The poke bowl was decently sized as they give you 3 scoops of protein (although they seem a tad smaller compared to other places that give you 2, so it's probably a wash). You can add as much krab salad or seaweed salad, which is different from some other places. Otherwise, the topping options are the standard ones. On that day, they were missing a few, notably masago. The sauce option was a bit confusing as they don't list out the individual sauces, instead opting for spice levels, which makes things less straightforward. The bbq bowl (in this case, beef) was pretty good. You're allowed the same toppings as a poke bowl, but they cook meat fresh to order on the stove and pile it on top. I felt this was better (in taste and quantity) than the poke bowl and would opt for that next time. It's fairly unique since the non-raw options at other places typically are veggies or krab salad. The California roll was standard but decently sized. Convenient location for ASU students, but less so for non-students and not really worth navigating Mill Ave if you're not already going to be there. read more

I've never seen serving sizes like this. I literally thought it was a joke. I got the large size, which includes four scoops of protein, and I got the spicy tuna, salmon, tuna, and octopus. The sizes were not enough half of a fist. They have toppings like seaweed salad, cilantro, masago, sesame seeds, green onion, ginger, and wasabi. When I started choosing my toppings, I saw how small their serving spoon is and I actually laughed because I was in disbelief. I had to ask for more because it didn't make sense how little they give you. In terms of quality, it's just average. The octopus felt plasticky, as did the salmon. One of my favorite restaurants in the valley. The lady and I have been coming here for the past year, at least monthly, sometimes weekly! We always get the same thing, Korean bbq bowls with brown rice and krab along with mango and sriracha sauce. For veggies we pretty much stack em all on they are freaking bomb! Food is always so damn consistent, just like a way better chipotle! We've also gotten a couple different types of sushi, all are bomb but I think the bowls are the best thing to order. We are walking down Mill Avenue and looking for a food around 9 p.m. on a Saturday night. We were about to go somewhere else, but it would have required more walking. We saw this place and just hidden in a Corner next to Fuzzy's Taco Shop. And we decide to come in to get a proper meal. Personally, I don't eat raw food. But surprisingly, they also had a barbecue beef or chicken bowl that you could order. As a result, I ordered the barbecue beef bowl. With white rice and essentially pretty much all the toppings they had. It's like a Korean bibimbap / Chipotle style ordering. They cook the barbecue beef or they reheated the beef right on the spot. Taste: The barbecue beef and everything else that was mixed with it and the spicy sauce, was delicious. I had the right amount of beef and since I got a little bit of everything of the toppings, it just all melted in your mouth. The spicy sauce could be spicier, but I have a higher tolerance for spicy food. Nonetheless, it was still good. Also, after you finish the entire Bowl it is very filling. They also give you a miso soup on the side, free of charge. It was just a basic miso soup no tofu or seaweed, but it was free. Environment: Plenty of seating, clean, and spacious. The time that we went around 9 p.m., we were the only customers in there, and they do close around I think 9:30 p.m. Rest room was clean as well. The server and cashier were both super nice. Price: I believe for a regular barbecue beef bowl, my total was around $9.36, or something around that. They do have a larger size, but the regular side was good enough for me. Not too cheap, but a semi reasonable price for the quality of the food. Would definitely recommend coming here, if you're craving a decent and filling meal, before a night out on the town. It took me a while to figure out that this place didn't have anything to do with Pokemon, which was kind of disappointing, but it's great anyway. I come here regularly for lunch and I still can't really explain what's going on, but I'll try. Basically, you walk in and they've got a big area behind a counter that's all glassed off. There are some other choices you can make but I'm going to focus on the Poke Bowl because that's all I've figured out how to do so far. So first you pick between a regular, or large size. Just pick one - I shouldn't have to tell you what large means. Then they're going to ask you if you want white or brown rice. People think brown rice is healthier, but I'm pretty sure that's not true, so I always get white rice because it tastes better. Then they're going use their hands to motion to a bunch of little containers of things and ask you what you want, like avocado, or crab meat, or... some other things - I can't remember. Anyway - I think the avocado costs extra, and the crab is included. So just tell them if you want that stuff. Then they're going to scoot down and motion to some more bins, and that's where you get to pick your meat. This is all sushi-style, so it's not cooked. If you asked for a regular, I think you get to pick three scoops of stuff, and if you asked for a large, I think you get four. So I recommend you get tuna, but you can do whatever you want. They've also got salmon and a bunch of other things. Then they're going to ask you how spicy you want it. If you say 'hot' it's a little bit hot, but not super hot. Like, hot enough to where your nose is just about to start running, but not quite. Good heat. I wish it were spicier but I'm not complaining - the flavor is really good and you don't want to overwhelm the flavor, you know? So anyway - get whatever you want. They'll take a bunch of bottles and squirt them all over the fish and then they get a single glove out of a box and mix the sauce in. I kind of want to be like, "Hey - don't waste a glove just like... I dunno. Why can't you use a spoon or something?" but you know what? I'm not running the joint so I assume they've got reasons for the stuff they do. Once they've done that, they're gonna put that on the rice, and then scoot you down further and ask you if you want more things, like seaweed salad, beans, cilantro, onions - toppings. Stuff like that. Get whatever. They're gonna throw it on top. Then they'll ask you if you want free miso soup, which seems like a dumb question to me because when would I ever not want miso soup? But I guess somebody might not like it. I'd say to get it. And then you're done. I think they've got a pretty great drink selection too - even beers if memory serves, so that's pretty cool. They have both indoor, and outdoor seating, and there's a bunch of stool/bar style seating too. The people are pretty cool - not like, super stoked to be there or anything, but pleasant and they seem like cool people. I don't necessarily trust anyone who's too excited to give me food. I'm only giving it 2 stars because the crab mix was free and there was complimentary miso soup. This place lacked protein options, and toppings.
