Large poke bowl (2 scoops ahi tuna + 2 scoops salmon)
    Harper F.

YUM! I tried Poke 2U for the first time last week. I can't believe I hadn't tried it sooner! The restaurant is fast casual and has good quality seafood. I ordered the large poke bowl with ahi tuna & salmon. The best part was the crab salad. Definitely a must-try restaurant! The employee who helped make my bowl looked like he loved his job. He was very helpful with menu options and was very friendly. I wish I could remember his name, he was great!

Generous servings, free miso soup with each order. Cleaner and comfortable place to grab a bite!

Convenient spot for those staying in Tempe. Walking distance to many other establishment. Huge selection of food... probably good for a group that's not all sushi lovers. The quality was good (as in I had no issues) and the prices was comparable to what you would expect. Toppings on the poke bowl were ok...but overall no complaints! Plenty of indoor seating and some outdoor seating. & Entrance is kind of on the side of the building?

Stopped by on a Tuesday night. Restaurant was not busy at all. I ordered two sushi rolls. Spicy Tuna and Tempura Shrimp. Presentation was decent and items packaged well. Tempura shrimp came from a frozen retail box. Breading was heavy and finished product tasted of old fryer oil. Rice had dry bits that crunched as I ate. Spicy Tuna was essentially flavorless except for the soy sauce. Could have used more seasoning and perhaps a bit of mayo to add a savory feel. Soda fountain was out of CO2, but issue was mitigated by allowing me to select from a very limited supply of bottled beverages. Total price for the two rolls and soda was about $30. Value for the money was quite low.

The food was absolutely amazing, and the service was top-notch! There are so many great options on the menu, but the spicy ramen and baked sushi completely blew me away--hands down the best I've had in Arizona! Everything is super fresh, super affordable, and packed with flavor. It gets busy (for good reason!), but totally worth it. I just happened to find this place while I was in the area, and now it's my go-to hidden gem. So glad I discovered it!

I ended up ordering a couple of their sushi rolls and they were absolutely amazing! The Philadelphia roll was really fresh and the crunchy shrimp roll had a wonderful, sweeter flavor. Literally everyone else in the restaurant had a poke bowl, so maybe try that as well!

"ITS okay. Nothing special for me." This review is on the CRAZY 2U SUSHI ROLL. -first off it doesn't look at all like the picture -flavor is good. -crab is spicy which is good. -not crispy enough for me. -the texture is too mushy; it's more mushy than crispy. - my friend rated her poke bowl 7/10 (she didn't like how the fish was being stored in the store) she said it's seems unsanitary the way they have it open. Would I come back? Ehhh not memorable but not a bad experience just not enough for me to come back.

A bit hidden but still on mill, poke 2 u is a convenient stop for lunch or dinner. Friendly service and no wait. Our two rolls were very well made and we took them to go! There's also a bunch of seating if you do plan to stay to eat.

I only had 20 mins before starting my volunteer shift on Mill Avenue. My friend and I stopped in this spot because it was close. I got a poke burrito and she got a bowl. The food was excellent, the person who helped us was kind, patient and made great suggestions. I will definitely make plans to go back when I have another shift on that street.

Good poke option off of Mill Ave. Staff is fast, place is clean, ingredients are standard but fresh. No surprises, but a good healthy option if you are in the area. Large bowl comes with 4 scoops of protein and unlimited toppings. Avocado is $1 extra, pretty typical of all poke spots. Comes with a nice cup of miso soup- bonus!

Great place just a short walk from where we were staying. One side you can order sushi and other side was ramen. Variety to choose from with friendly service.

Poke 2U is fast, affordable, and delicious! I ordered the regular poke bowl (which was more than enough food for lunch) and since I was eating there, I got a free cup of miso soup, too. The poke bowl was completely customizable - I got to pick the base, toppings, and three different proteins, as well as crunchies and sauces on top. The servers were so friendly and accommodating! All of the ingredients were so fresh, too, and I was pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary cup of soup, which was served piping hot.

This is the original location that haas been there for years, but they've expanded to a few other locations. This location is small but it's cute and the staff is really friendly. You can order online for their regular menu but they had some specials this weekend (sign up for the emails because you can see the specials at leach location and you get a code for a free cookie for your birthday) so we called in. Food was ready in 15 minutes. We got the lobster roll which is Connecticut style-my preference-with lots of butter! They had a fish and chips special so we got that too. And a pb&j cookie for my birthday! My husband very recently broke his leg so picking up Chulas with some great lobster was a nice treat! It's not inexpensive but you get what you pay for. Very fresh, high quality seafood. They have great poke and a great fish market if you want to pick up raw seafood to cook at home. Definitely a little gem in SoSco.

Being the desert, the quality of Seafood is important, since we are nowhere near seawater and the reputable Chula Seafood is here to serve us, desert dwellers, well. TUNA MELT- it's refreshing to have a tuna sandwich that is not canned tuna. There is a chimichiri sauce that you can get to drizzle on it that really gives a depth of flavor. The bread was a nice sourdough that was not just a cheap white bread and did not get soggy. However, with my sandwich, the bread was burnt so that bitterness ruined the flavor of the delicate fish. My pictures shows a few burnt spots, but on the bottom side was way more burnt and it was like they put the most burnt side on the bottom to hide it and hope I didn't notice. I did not appreciate this. CLAM CHOWDER- creamy and more on the fluid consistency, being made with fresh clams makes the difference. Not the best chowder i've had, but was pretty decent. The fish variety can vary with seasons, but it is nice to get different choices throughout the year. There are limited offerings here compared to the bigger location across town, as far as menu and fish selection. But for a small store it is a good place to get some quality seafood to take home or sit and eat. Check out the great happy hour deals

When we walked in it had a very fishy smell, so it kind of made us second guess our choice. But we went for it anyhow. The greeter/server was very pleasant and sat us. It was very clean inside with ample space between seat. We browsed through the menu and started with our usual edamame and pot stickers. The edamame was salted well throughout where a lot of places just put the salt on top only. We ordered a couple varieties of sake which were both good. Out of all of the things we ordered the karange skewer was just a little more oily than were use to, but still good. The spicy salmon roll had really great flavor and the lollipop roll was probably one of the better versions that we have had. The musubi was giant to say the least, it was good, but offered a bit too much rice. Overall the food and service was great and we were very happy that we ended up here!

On a Sunday evening, after checking out the Desert Botanical Garden, I was looking for some food in…read morethe area. I came across Zu Izakaya and it's great reviews as one of the options. I love Japanese food so my decision was made. I drove over and parked in their complimentary lot. Ambiance (3.5/5): I've been to Japan and there are plenty of izakayas there. Think of them as small bars which often serve solid food. Zu fits that bit. It's a relatively small restaurant, probably seats about 30 people. and it's pretty no frills for a Japanese spot. I was seated at a booth in the corner of the restaurant. They have free WiFi which is always a good touch. Service (3/5): Service was friendly, though a bit inconsistent. My waitress wasn't as attentive as I would have liked. The type of service where you have to flag them down to get what you want and to close out. Drinks (4/5): Zu has a nice menu of Japanese and Korean beverages, including sake, soju, Japanese beer, and more. With that being said, I just had an iced green tea. Food (4/5): I got a nice variety. I went with the Japanese sausage off of the grill menu, the OBI mayo roll off of the sushi menu, and the cheese corn off of the appetizer menu. Let's start with the sausage. It's a small item, two small sausages, but absolutely delicious. The sausage was bursting with flavor and basted in a sweet sauce. Minus the portion size, perfection. The cheese corn also hit the spot, but the execution was off. The corn is served on a hot platter, and unfortunately some of the corn on the edges was badly burnt. The type of situation where they should start over. Which they didn't. Lastly, the OBI mayo roll is essentially a California roll with marinated warm shrimp on top in a mayo sauce. I didn't love the hot and cold combo (shrimp and sushi), but outside of the temperature, it was a delicious roll. All in all, a very food meal. My only gripe with Japanese food is that it can get expensive quick. Given that Zu is in Tempe, I was hoping that prices would be a little cheaper. With that being said, they do have a solid happy hour (and reverse happy hour) with both food and drink specials. Next time I stop by, I'd like to check out some of their Korean options. I focused on the Japanese stuff this time (which makes the majority of the menu). Next time around, the bulgogi is calling my name!
