Don't. Just don't. Visited on a recent evening after seeing that they have outdoor seating. It was a beautiful night we wanted to sit outside. Mistake number one, sitting on the patio. Furniture is old, clapped out and uncomfortable. But, it was a beautiful night so we sat there anyway. Mistake number two, the calamari. Menu says lightly breaded. Only if lightly means completely coated and battered like an onion ring, soft and greasy. This almost certainly came out of a frozen bag. What you see in the pictures posted by other diners is NOT what they are currently serving the pictures are of mixed rings and squid, which look way more appetizing than what we got. Mistake number three, chopped romaine salad. It's supposed to have about eight ingredients. It was missing at least the advertised bacon, tomatoes and cucumbers. I think there was one green bean cut into seven pieces that were about half an inch long. There were, however, at least two finally chopped olives. In the whole salad. Basically, a bowl of chopped romaine with dressing. Mistake number three, potato dippers. These are soft french fries with some cheese sauce and a small amount of pulled pork. Menu says it comes with pico de gallo, but they skipped adding that as well. Mistake number four, the tiny pork chop. Shoe leather tough and completely dry. Served with squash and brussels sprouts, which were OK. Mistake number five, shrimp and radicchio pasta. They did have a bunch of shrimp in it. I'll give them that. The tomato sauce they poured on the overcooked pasta was not "creamy" in any way contrary to the menu description. Burger and fries were OK. Service was friendly and competent but food pacing is ridiculously slow. It took a little over 30 minutes for the calamari and other apps to come out. We were hungry and it was late, so we toughed it out, ate our dinner and laughed about how terrible it was. The other option would've been to send nearly every single thing we got back. I'd still be sitting there waiting if that was the case given how long it took. If you're staying at this resort, get in your rental car, or call an Uber, and go almost anywhere else. I have the feeling the food is largely prepared by teenagers using microwaves. Decent pour on the cocktails. They got that right. However, if you sit on the patio, you will get soft drinks in a plastic cup. This experience was just over $200 for three people all in with tip. read more

We decided to do the breakfast buffet but quickly regretted the decision. Very beautiful restaurant. There were multiple breakfast choices and the coffee was good. The problem was the food didn't seem to have been kept very warm. 20 feet to our table and the eggs, potatoes and meats were cold. The potatoes and bacon were tastey but the sausage was flavorless. That being said I would order this salad again but hold on the chicken and ask for extra olives. Bartender was great, friendly and short staffed but she was crushing it. Other restaurant within the hotel is high end, this place was more reasonable without leaving the hotel. Breakfast is buffet or order from menu. Buffet is quite extensive with cooked to order eggs station. Smoked salmon plate offers you so much of salmon. It really fills you up. Egg benedict was cooked the way it was supposed to be. Crepe from the buffet was quite good too. When you walk in, you will notice this dark wood decor and it makes you feel you are not in Phoenix anymore. read more

The only positive thing was the service. Food was barely edible. My husband ordered the NY Strip and could not eat it. he requested Med Well and it came out Med Rare. My moms friends are vegetarian so obviously they had a couple options for them which is always a great thing in my book. The green smoothies here are the bomb. I didn't actually dine here, I only came several times during my stay to get green smoothies. The service was very nice and friendly. I was able to get a customized veggie fruit smoothie made to cater to my food allergies. That was really nice, everyday I would get one and each day it tasted amazing and I felt great after drinking it. They also called for a golf cart to pick me up and take me back to the main building. My bestie rather liked the dark English club room feel. The poached pear bruschetta was amazing. The sweetness of the pear combined with the salty of prosciutto was delicious I had the short rib roast and the other meal was the mustard grilled pork chop The meat with the rib roast was okay but the grease that coated the vegetables was so heavy it gleaned in the darkness. This overwhelmed the meal. So many potatoes I was wishing that a green veggie was added The pork chop was okay, but the vegetables were also co weed in grease It was a special night so we splurged and has dessert. The creme brûlée was not good. The custard was dry and while the top had a hard crust it was not an even ...... sad The better of the two desserts was the brownie. A most appealing place for a cocktail. Dark wood paneling with a deep selection of spirits nicely merchandised on the back bar. You would consider this drinking spot a classic looking watering hole. Located on 7th St adjacent to the Tapitio Cliffs Hilton hotel and right at the golf course, it's a convenient place for an adult beverage. I have visited this location 3 times in August. Next to the bag drop from the golf course this has upscale atmosphere, great food, even better service. In particular my server Berecca was courteous, fast and attentive. I ordered medium rare brioche burger, salad w/ flavored tea. (flavors change daily.) the following week was a Prime rib sandwich.salad w/ flavored tea. Was so impressed I ended month on mac & 5 cheese, roasted chicken and rice that had a slight lemon flavor w/ chocolate volcano. My niece had Seared salmon & creme brulee. We have stayed at the Hilton Tapatio Resort several times but had not dined in a Point In Tyme. We decided to eat there after a long day at the hotel in a conference. I was with my mother and daughter and the front desk offered to drive us to the restaurant which isn't that far from the main office but we declined. A walk across the parking lot led us to a Point in Tyne. We were immediately greeted and sat. The restaurant was busy for a Saturday night. We were offered bread which was delicious and ordered. My daughter had the chicken fingers and fries, my mom a quesadilla, and I had a Caesar salad. Our food came out as expected, and our waiter stayed attentive to our needs coming back frequently for refills and to check in on us. After dinner, we ordered dessert for my daughter. She wanted a sundae which promptly was served. Our experience was great- I would highly recommend. Since we stayed at Hilton Pointe for 4 days we visited this restaurant every day. From late night cocktails, to breakfast, to appetizers, to full dinner - the food is fantastic and doesn't disappoint. I love the English golf club interior! It reminded us of Torrey Pines Lodge - which is appropriate since it's right off the golf course pro shop. The entire, complete with elaborate woodwork and two fireplaces, immediately made us feel comfortable and helped us mentally feel like we were in a cooler climate and not the 120 degree weather that was outdoors. I also love that they have "glass and a half" options on their pours - which is a nice upgrade feature. I had to deduct one star because of service. We had lunch here one day and our older female bartender (we sat at the bar for lunch) was kinda snarky - it could have been misconstrued as rude since we really didn't know her but I'm thinking maybe that's her humor? She disappeared to the opposite end of the bar for a half an hour and put on her reading glasses and played on her phone. Eventually I had to go ask her for our check. I do want to mention that all of the gentlemen bartenders were very attentive and provided great service. If we do stay on this property again, I'm sure we will once again visit Pointe in Tyme for delicious draft beer, the chef's cheese board, the amazing Cuban sandwich and super cheesy pizza. read more

Watch out for the automatic 20% tip added on if you bill it to your room. Paying a 20% tip when YOU are carrying your food and drink to table, picking up your own silverware from a basket is ridiculous. This place had awful service. I had a reservation for 8 people. We sat down, and it took about 10 min for somebody to come take our drink order. We ordered our drinks AND food at 8:00 but didn't get our food until after 9:00. The waitress was not attentive, she barely checked up on us, and she did not seem very friendly. The shrimp in the grilled shrimp pasta was gray which led us to believe it was undercooked, and the Smokehouse burger that we ordered to be medium was totally pink in the middle. At the end, we talked to the manager, Scott, and he was kind enough to comp all of our meals for the inconvenience. My husband and I along with our best friend and her boyfriend stopped in here to have a quick bite to eat and drinks. We we were greeted and seated right away. Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable! We got there after 3 so they were only seething a small menu. We orders the quinoa law salad, the green chili's burger, and the spinach dip. They were all amazing!! The spinach dip was served with tortillas chips. The dip was creamy and delicious. The burger was very juicy and had really good flavor. The salad was to die for! I visited this place on Christmas day. I had dinner there. Its was a party of 5. The restaurant was half full. Our server, Sarah, was just incredible. We sat across the dining area furthest from the kitchen. I watched her running back and forth probably doing a good 4 miles just while we were there. She was extra friendly, timely, attentive, to our every need. She really made our visit over the top fun. The manager actually stopped by our table as well to check on us. Every aspect of our visit/meal was wonderful. I really fell in love with the place because of the service. We all enjoyed our meal. And the desserts were awesome. Tonight I had the blue burger with tomato bisque soup and wings. Very good. Goose IPA. Salted caramel cheese cake for dessert. The only negative - smallest piece of cheese cake I've ever seen. Went there for dinner last night. All the staff was friendly and very pleasant, so that's a majority of the rating. As for the food, it's pretty much what you would expect from a work convention. Mass produced, easily served foods. My wife and both the burger medium rare and medium, respectively. Hers came well done and mine wasn't far from well done. They didn't taste horrible by any means, but considering the price, I expected a little more finesse. The fries were pretty bland. Half were hot and half were lukewarm. Like I said, if I were at a work convention and I wasn't expecting much, I'd have been as happy as a clam, but on a Hilton property, I expected more. read more

While staying at the Hilton during a work trip to Phoenix with colleagues, I personally visited Point in Tyme on multiple occasions and am combining all of the experiences as one review and a collective rating...depending on your visit I recommend a read through the specifics... Dinner (2 stars): Three of us went for dinner around 6pm and didn't have a wait before we were seated. Our server was a little slow to greet but friendly enough. We each ordered different items but had similar experiences. The plated presentation of the food was very nice, but that is about it...I selected the pasta dish and was overpowered by the garlic and the lack of sausage was replaced with an assortment of veggies and a few that do not mix well with the garlic. I ended up picking around in the veggies for the ones I like with the sausage and pasta. One colleague ordered the chicken and the other the Ahi Tuna. The chicken was "okay" but lacked true seasoning and had portions dried out. The Ahi Tuna was rather bland and could've used a marinade before searing. We were all rehydrating from flights and stuck to water, which our sever did well refilling, but the entire meal portion left much to be desired. Late Night Cocktails (4 stars): After dinner elsewhere a large group of us returned to the hotel and wanted to relax on the patio with beverages. The staff was very accommodating and set up an area and at no point seemed annoyed that we were only drinking. The atmosphere on the patio is quaint and soon we were the only table left outside but the service didn't diminish. The outdoor furniture is in need of some touch ups but nothing too irksome given it is outdoors. Breakfast (3 stars): As a Hilton Diamond member I received the continental breakfast buffet complimentary and could upgrade for around $4 to the full buffet. Upgrade was worth it! I had two separate breakfast experiences so combining here. The first morning I arrived at opening 6:30am as I had an early meeting to get to. I was waiting outside the doors with multiple patrons until close to 6:45 when they at last unlocked the doors for us. The host mumbled something about being busy before seating us one-by-one from the host stand. Knowing time was now crunched I hurried to request an omelet to ensure I would have a strong protein start of the day. Server was fantastic and attentive, he was always ensuring I was good on coffee (very important in the morning) and refilled with a smile. Buffet spread is nice and has variety though the set up gets confusing with breads and cereals in a different area. Thanks to the quick omelet chef I was able to enjoy my rapid breakfast and head out. The second morning's breakfast was less smooth. Went in around 7:15am and didn't have the door delay at least but the omelet chef was missing for at least ten minutes from my arrival at the station. A gentlemen was already waiting when I approached and already looked perturbed so goodness knows how long he had been there. The omelet chef finally emerged about two minutes after I asked a server. Slight swaps in the buffet (pancakes for French toast) but similar to the prior day. Service was not nearly as strong and I had to call out (when she had walked past me and my eyes trying to make contact without looking the third time) as I needed more water and coffee. Hindsight I wish I had asked for my prior morning server's section but didn't get a name. Depending the occasion and time of day, Point in Tyme can meet your needs but is nothing extraordinary. I am sure the golfers bring crowds along with hotel patrons so the location near the carts and pro shop is good, but service and dinner food quality need refinement. read more

First off this place is beautiful! I love all the dark wood. It's worth a visit just for that. I like to sit at the bar but the restaurant area is also very nice. Most of the customers seem to be staying at the resort, at least at the bar area. I often see people sitting alone at the bar area. The service at the bar is good, never had a problem and everybody is friendly. The food while usually pretty good can be hit or miss. They change their menu from time to time so your favorite may be gone on your next visit. I miss their bacon wrapped pork tenderloin with brussel sprouts! Man, that was good. The Ahi tacos are also great! I also really like their beet salad which comes with both gold and red beets. I don't get the toffee brittle they put on it though. I had a steak which was cooked the way I asked. It was pretty good and tender. Grilled salmon with beets was also very good from a year ago. The beef short rib was very tasty but could have been more tender. The scallops and risotto was very good the first time but the last time it was much different. Something was off. It seemed like a different recipe, neither the scallops or the risotto were very good. Overall definitely worth checking out if in the area and especially if you are staying at the resort. read more

I have lived down the street from the Pointe for a while, but never stopped in. Last week I went to Pointe in Tyme for a couple of drinks. They were pretty weak, and I didn't get any food. I got lucky and had excellent service. I say lucky because when I went in I randomly went to the right side of the bar, and the very personable bartender who was working on that side - Elizabeth - was spectacular. If I had gone to the other side the bartender - whose name I didn't see - seemed almost surly. It would have been a much different experience. read more

So I came from California to Stay at the Hilton resort and through my week stay here I was reluctant to try the restaurants that the resort offered but my family and I gave it a shot there was only bar seating at the time we went but we had an infant and the high bar stools were just not accommodating that's why the 4 star instead of 5 [I recommend doing something about that] but the host sat us in the dining area and everything was great after that. The food was amazing we had the burger and it was just amazing and juicy probably One of the best burgers I have had in a while I totally recommend this place to eat. *atleast the burgers lol . read more

Pointe in Tyme is so close to having great food but needs to elevate their side dishes and decor just a bit. They have a prime location at the Tapatio Cliff Hotel but they need just a touch of refinement to become one of their premier restaurants. Came in with a group of ten and the service was very good. Server was attentive and thorough. We ordered mac n cheese, calimari, and ahi tuna. Adding crab or lobster to mac n cheese would make more sense than chicken macaroni and cheese as it doesn't seem sufficient as an appetizer for a group. I had the flat iron steak with chimichurri. It was delicious! I would definitely recommend it but potato skins were straight out of a chain restaurant. Again, so close, needs a taste elevation. read more

It is SO dark inside I could barely see my food. Which concerns me. Breakfast is alright but we ate outside - that was nice but in the five times we em did we didn't once see a server, despite the automatic gratuity. Lunch and dinner - menus and food - are extremely disappointing. Not a resort feel at all, just okay and overpriced.
