I have been here several times on my lunch break and have tried all the menu items. Mostly everything is pretty good. I'm not a huge fan of the soft tacos (they use corn tortillas), but the chicken quesadilla and taco shell are phenomenal. The chicken is a bit greasy but I guess that's what makes it taste so good! The service is decent and they have several tables for dining in. A bonus is the food is halal :) I will definitely be frequenting this place on a regular basis. read more

Hugely disappointing. Loved this place when it opened like 4 years ago. Tonight's burrito was poorly made, and tasted like the food had been sitting out for the entire day. This place is a neighborhood gem! After trying Poblano's for the first time, I decided to make it a Monday tradition to order from them. Personal favorite has to be the classic burrito with all the good stuff on it. Their burrito bowls are great and the portion sizes are very generous. I always leave with more food than I really need. I also recommend trying the chips and guacamole! The chips have a great taste and are always fresh. Poblano's has an advantage over its competitors (Chipotle..) since their ingredients can be made fresh and more authentic. Above all, the staff at Poblano's is very friendly and welcoming every time I visit. They even make me order in Spanish sometime so I can get my Spanish lesson in for the day! Keep it up! read more

The torta was great. The taste itself made it seem authentic and like the people there know what they're doing. The portion is really generous too for the size of it all. It's a bit messy, but that's what you can expect from a good torta. Paired with the queso fundido, it basically became a torta ahogada. Overall great taste, fast service. read more

This place is pretty good. It is a locally owned small business. It's fast, easy, tasty and the staff is very nice. I have tried a few things on the menu but keep going back for the chicken quesadilla. I'm a quesadilla aficionado and there's is great and the price can't be beat. I love the seasoning on their chicken and the cheese they use. The quesadilla is stuffed and you will be full for your $7. The pico that comes with it has a nice fresh jalapeño zing to it and I ask for the spicy sour cream and they mix right up for you. The place is pretty solid and sometimes it can be a little inconsistent. Almost every time it's very fresh and tasty in my experience. I'd say I've eaten there 20 times and had one or two times where the pico wasn't fresh or forgot my sour cream. Way better than the big chain place that starts with a C. They had me in the hospital 5 days praying for an early death. At least at poblano' you are getting real fresh food made there. Whoever complained about the prices here is oblivious and just wrong. They offer most dishes for $7-8. Stay home and eat ramen and hot dogs if that is too expensive for you. read more

Great alternative in the neighborhood. The food is very reasonably priced, fresh and flavorful. There is an excellent variety of choices of protein, toppings and condiments. And the red sauce has a true kick. Most importantly the entire place is so clean and the owners and employees are kind and helpful. I'm giving two stars only because of the great customer service. We just moved from Dallas where there is an abundance of Mexican food. So we found this place near our home. It's Tex-Mex at best. This place has Chipotle beat in my book (cue the gasps and egg throwing). There is a wide variety of basic, Mexican options, ranging from the burrito, quesadilla and nachos and they are ALL delicious. The ingredients are always fresh, made quickly and to your spice liking (they have lots of raw jalapeño and one of their salsas is hot like hot fire .) The price is right and there is plenty of street parking. I would recommend to anyone looking for fast Mexican. read more

Will work in an emergency for a Mexican fix but nothing to write home about. Been craving a nice hole in the wall Mexican place since moving from Chicago so decided to give Poblano's a try. This obviously used to be a Quizno's as the layout and signage is still the exact same except for a new menu and some temporary Mexico-themed posters on the wall. We got the steak quesadilla and steak tacos. You do get to pick your toppings on the tacos, including fresh jalepenos. The steak in both was somewhat rubbery without much seasoning or taste so I can't give the food high marks. It does the trick, since even mediocre Mexican food is still delicious, but it is not a place that I would recommend others need to try unless they are in the immediate vicinity. I ordered lunch from poblanos for myself and my son. I got the salad, I got him plain rice and we got a nacho container to share. When they arrived I couldn't tell the difference between either because they were both drowned with the same ingredients. I tried my best to finish my salad but the taste and the nice long hair I found was enough to make me gag. I eventually decided to stop eating and focus on the nachos. But because they are exactly the same thing, my eating only lasted but so long. I ended up tossing both dishes in the trash. To top it off I had a nice stomach ache for the next two days. Sorry to say but this place made my heart sink. I came in and I didn't expect it to be like Chipotle. The chicken was all dark meat when I got it and it was also very chewy and not juicy. I came here in hope that being a Mexican grill meant I could get something that was grilled together like bell peppers, onions and meat of choice. I didn't know I was going to run into another chipotle. Taste wise it didn't lack flavor. I like the spicy sour cream (pretty sure it was mayo) and they are pretty new. I got the taco bowl thing but I got more rice than anything. I did like their guacamole but I was so disappointed on the food I threw half away. I'll try again once they pick up and figure out their menu and routine. For now I don't recommend it, and I'm also not a huge chipotle fan either so I really didn't like the way it was structured. read more

I have been disappointed with the quality of food here. This is an account of my recent experience. First, I ordered the fish burrito. Around my fourth bite I began to choke on a bone. After examining the burrito I noticed that the tail of the fish was in said burrito. I also had an order of chips and guacamole. The guacamole was delicious, but it wasn't done justice because the chips were incredibly hard. After I had ordered my food a coworker warned me against the quality. I figure that I had a different entree, so I would have a different experience. Unfortunately, as you can tell from my account, this was not the case. Great food for a very cheap price! I got the Chicken Nacho Grande and piled it up. It was very good and my bill came out to $7.16. It's cheaper than Chipotle but with more options! I wanted to like it, but I couldn't. They messed up a to-go order, such that I couldn't eat it, which I didn't find out until I was long gone. When I ordered again in person, I looked at the receipt later and saw that they overcharged me. Maybe other Poblanos have better service, but I feel like if I went back I'd have to hover over them and double check everything. That's not okay, so I won't be back.
