Strawberry lemonade
Richard F.

Fast casual brunch spot with pretty good food and service. Parking is easy if you utilize the BevMo side of the plaza. Nice patio seating where you can bring your dog Food/Drink- 4.5 stars Everything was pretty solid. Food was excellent. Drinks were fresh -pork chop with pomegranate sauce- pretty good and you can taste the higher quality of ingredients. Cooked perfectly -pancakes with ricotta and blueberries- this was good, but it would've been better if they mixed the ricotta into the batter -strawberry lemonade- freshly squeezed, delicious and not too sweet -matcha strawberry latte- this was ok. It tasted like the Costco matcha powder with strawberry jam thrown in Service- 4.5 stars Food came out pretty quickly. They did seem a bit understaffed at the tables, as you had to fetch a server for any drinks. And there were a good amount of tables that were unavailable since there weren't enough bussers to clean out the tables to accommodate the weekend rush Bottom Line Really solid brunch spot that I'll be visiting on the regular

Veggie Scramble with salad and English muffin

I had an excellent breakfast here with my wife yesterday. We went on a weekday, so please consider that for this review! Pros: + Food came out fast! + They offer salad as a side instead of hash browns with no up charge. That alone is HIGHKEY! + Parking was easy + Service on the floor was friendly and attentive +Indoor and outdoor seating + Portion size was great for the scrambles and accommodations can be made for food sensitivities + Easy to eat here if on Keto + Fresh fruit was really good Cons: - It's a walk up to order counter. This is a personal con, you might like that option, but I would rather be served and have a second to sit down at a table and look at the menu. - Seating was not that comfortable unless you were on a padded chair inside. My wife is pregnant so she's sensitive to comfort lately. Booths inside and outside are wooden, and outside the chairs are metal (which makes sense weather/ware-wise, just not comfort-wise). - The guy at the order counter was obviously new. Not a "con" necessarily, but overall didn't give us the above-and-beyond experience that would lend itself to a 5-star review. Asking for our toast "dark and dry" seemed to really throw him off. Overall, we would come back. Great for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. Good for solo meals or groups.

Chicken and waffles

I have finally made it to Poached. I've heard good things about this place but for me it didn't live up to the hype. I'm a type of person who doesn't like to go to restaurants where I can make better food at home, but I really wanted to give this place a try. Me and my husband went here on New Year's Eve and the place was very busy. We came here for lunchtime and when we got there, we were greeted right away and they told us where to sit. We ordered the chicken and waffles and the Smashburger and fries. The fried chicken was too dry. However, the waffles were really good. The Smashburger was just OK too. I honestly thought that the cheese had a weird texture, almost like plastic. The fries were just OK too, it wasn't anything special. I came here again. I wouldn't get this for sure. I really like that they had the sink outside so you can wash your hands and not have to wait for the restroom. Overall, this is a cute place and I might come back if the hubs want to.

This is a casual brunch spot where you order at the counter and grab your own seat. It gets pretty busy, so definitely try to come early. Breakfast Burrito - Even though I'm not usually a burrito person, this one surprised me in a good way. It was packed with flavor and had everything you'd want in a solid breakfast bite: chorizo, sausage, bacon, eggs, tomato pico, hash browns, white cheddar, aioli, and salsa roja. Really satisfying. Chilaquiles Verde - This was my first time trying chilaquiles, and unfortunately it just wasn't for me. The sauce leaned too sour, and the chips were already soggy. In hindsight, I probably should've asked for the sauce on the side so the chips could've stayed crunchy. Omelette - Simple but good. The bread that came with it wasn't crispy which loses some points. Tuna Melt - Tasty overall, though a bit greasy. Definitely very filling. Overall, a solid brunch spot with some hits and a few misses depending on what you order.

Smash burger and fries -- both were only OK
Patrick ..

Bottom Line Up Front: Poached Kitchen has everything you would want in a cool breakfast spot, from the menu and decor to the service and aesthetics -- everything except the delicious food. The Food: Let me explain. It's not bad. But it's not as delicious as I had hoped, given the premium prices. My wife and I ordered the chicken and waffles, smash burger with fries, and a side of bacon. The chicken was lightly breaded when I prefer it to be crispy while the meat was pretty dry. It was average at best. My wife's burger was OK; again, not bad but nothing to write home about. The fries lacked the seasoning and crispness that I expect from an American-style diner. Sadly, the bacon wasn't crispy at all and a little on the chewy side. The only thing that was genuinely delicious was the waffles -- light, airy, and just a hint of sweetness. The Service: The entire staff was fast, friendly, and knowledgeable. Excellent training by the management. The Overvalued Setup: Another reason for my good-but-not-great rating is that this is a fast-casual restaurant. You walk up and order at the front counter like a fast-food joint but you wait to be seated and they bring the dishes out to you. However, you don't get a dedicated server so no one will attend to you and you'll need to flag someone down for help. Nothing wrong with that, per se ... except that the meal prices are as high as sit-down full-service restaurants. The Location: It's located at the corner of Imperial Highway and Santa Ana Canyon Road, tucked inside a shopping complex with a poorly designed parking lot. (It's beside the Bev Mo.) Parking can be difficult to find during peak hours. Inside, the place is clean and well organized, with comfortable chairs. The bathroom has a shared sink space in the open, while individual toilets are behind fully closed doors. That's a convenient set up if you just want to wash your hands. The Conclusion: I really wanted to love this place but was disappointed by the average-tasting food sold for above average prices in a fast-casual setting -- definitely less bang for the buck. Will I try it again? Possibly, to try the other menu items in hopes this was just an off day for the cook.

These were Empty waters and when we asked for more it was abruptly put on the table with no words. Very uncomfortable "vibe".

I genuinely did not want to leave a bad review, but after everything that happened, I feel like I have no other choice. We came here for what was supposed to be a special Eid brunch with family. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. I first tried to handle this privately. They don't have a working phone line, it's just a bot, so I emailed them. My emails were returned back to sender. I then reached out through Yelp and was ignored there as well. At that point, I felt like I had no other way to be heard. We were originally told a 30 minute wait, which turned into nearly an hour. Once we finally sat down and ordered, they completely forgot part of our order, scrambled eggs for my two year old niece. When we asked about it, instead of apologizing, the staff member argued with us and insisted we never ordered it, even though multiple people at the table heard it. We were then made to pay again to reorder it even though everyone had their food already. The service only got worse from there. Silverware was basically tossed onto the table with not enough napkins, and we had to distribute it ourselves. We had to keep asking for water, and when it finally came, it was placed down abruptly with no words. At one point, staff even started clearing our table before we were done eating! We were in disbelief. We were clearly not done. He had a bin to put our plates in. The environment also felt uncomfortable. The staff appeared to be whispering and visibly annoyed with our table. Given that we were there for Eid along with other Muslim families, the treatment raised concerns for us. Whether intentional or not, it did not feel welcoming at all. You have to fit their "vibe" if you know what I mean. The food itself was also very disappointing. My French toast was extremely oily, chewy, and hard, I couldn't even eat it and had to send it back. My sister's chicken sandwich was also very dry and poor quality with some sour dressing in it. My dad's egg was so runny and it was $15 for one toaste with avocado and eggs. One. Felt like everything was premade. More concerning, within about 30 minutes of eating, three people in our group experienced diarrhea, which raised serious concerns about the food. We spent nearly 150 dollars for what should have been a meaningful family celebration, and instead left feeling frustrated, disrespected, and honestly sick. It's overpriced for the quality of food and service. I really tried to resolve this privately before posting and asked for a refund, but after being unable to get any response and was ignored, I felt it was important to share our experience.

We've been here a couple of times. Service is quick as you order and go find a seat. The restaurant is big and bright. I've loved everything I've had each time. This time I had the lemon ricotta blueberry pancakes. So so good!!

Brirria Omlette
Jonathan L.

Came here around 10 on a weekday and it wasn't super crowded. You order your food and then sit down at a table. I got the Birria Omelette with fries and sourdough. You can choose your choice of potatoes or bread. Bread and fries were okay but that omelette was not it. The vegetables and meat in the omelette wasn't incorporated into the eggs so everything fell apart when you cut into it. Not great to eat and the ingredients didn't work well together. I also got the Strawberry Matcha. Not very strong flavors. Tasted like milk and strawberry extract. All of that came out to be $28 which is definitely not worth it. Also, they have a rewards app but when I tried to scan the code they said they didn't have a scanner and it's only for to go orders... Why would you have a rewards app and not be able to scan it in stores? Wouldn't recommend this place. 2 stars for the good service though!

Veggie scramble

Had an amazing breakfast! I ordered the veggie scramble which was made to perfection - I ordered fruit as my side and it was all ripe and delicious. Also had a tasty iced peach tea with my meal. Quick and great service too! Can't wait to come back!

petite salad
Gina N.

There's plenty of parking. The wait isn't too bad. You can't join ahead on Yelp. When your table is ready, you get in line to order your food then you can sit down at your assigned table. The food was decent but nothing I would go out of my way to come back for especially when there's so many options for brunch. That's just my opinion. I got the eggs benedict with hashbrown and a mimosa. The hashbrown tasted plain to me. I ended up eating it with tobasco and I never eat tobasco but the hash browns just needed something. I got the petite salad for $5 and you actually get a lot with it!

Found this place thru Yelp and they have a few locations spread out thru So Cal. This location was located en route heading towards Vegas. We always trust our reviews on Yelp and wanted to give it a try. Service was ok. We werent necessarily greeted with open arms but being first timers here the lack of friendliness and smiles were noticeable. Took us a minute to decide on what to order- everything looked good. We ordered the Birria Benedict, French Toast, Steak and Eggs and a kids pancakes including sausage and eggs. Everything was delicious. We devoured everything off our plates. Our oldest and my husband shared the steak and eggs - they both enjoyed it. The benedict was really good and the hash browns were great- crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. We all agreed we would love to come back and try the other items on the menu.

Stopped here for brunch on a busy Sunday morning. It was pretty crowded but we didn't have to wait long, and the food came out quickly. The staff were all very nice, and the food was tasty. The food was a bit cold but otherwise enjoyable. It's a super cute spot with a fun menu, great place for brunch w friends.

Chilaquiles and fresh OJ
Myra V.

First to this newly opened breakfast joint in AH. They have lots of selections. My husband ordered chilaquiles and I ordered fruit plate and lavender latte. The servings are huge so we shared. The chilaquiles chips is so crunchy and taste really fresh but i find it a bit salty for my palate.( maybe that's just me coz im sensitive to salty foods. Good service, clean restaurant and lots of seating. they were packed when we came. they also have bar. It is a very good place for meet-ups with friends. And ohh---- the restroom is really clean!( and that says a lot about the place- for me.)

Parking: I had no problem finding parking spot as the lot is huge and shared with many other businesses. Interior: We were seated right away without any wait time as we arrived when they just opened. We were seated in a dark area of the restaurant (think bar vibe) so I was a little not sure at first. Most brunch places I went to were always filled with sunlight and bright colorful interiors. This place embraced a classic, quiet feel, something like a Steak House would have. Service: Our server's name was Susan I believe, who was nice and attentive through the whole meal, despite the crowd slowly built up and filled the restaurant. She never failed to check back on us, not just once but twice and refilled our water. She probably isn't as familiar with the brunch menu favorites but seem to know more about the Main menu. The General Manager came out and greeted us because most of their customers are regulars and it's uncommon to have first timers like us visiting. This nice hospitality made us feel very warmly welcomed and impressed. Food: I couldn't decide whether to go with the Slow braised beef on the brunch menu (braised beef benedict) or the main menu but ended up going with the Main menu to get a good portion size. It was a perfect choice because the beef is just amazing. It was cooked to a soft perfection, well seasoned, the roasted vegetable was also cooked just right and not super raw/ crunchy like other places. Then the star of the show arrived - the butter cake. As Susan suggested, this is their most popular dessert and I can see why. The butter cake comes piping hot with the ice cream on top. There's a nice sugar crunchy feel near the bottom of the cake. It's so delicious that I want to come back just to eat this cake. We had a great time overall and would love to come back.

It has this dark but classy aesthetic and I was not prepared for that (in a good way). This restaurant has been here for about 2 years with different ownership and menu so I was excited to see what they had to offer. Hugo helped us with our order and he was very friendly and professional. We went ahead and ordered the ahi tuna taco, pork belly bao, garlic fries, the margharita pizza, the yuzu lobster pasta, and for drinks I got the virgin burning thyme. My friend got that and other drinks as well. Ahi tuna taco - 5/5 probably the best food item for the evening. The tuna was fresh, perfect amount of kick in its sauce, and the outter shell was perfectly crunchy. I think them replacing the shell with wonton was exceptional with the texture. Every bite was extremely satisfying. Pork Belly bao - 4/5 everything was delicious. The bow itself is bouncy and moist. There wasn't anything special about the sauce inside with the pork belly, but I would definitely give it a try at least once. A great portion with your friends or family as an appetizer. Garlic fries - 3/5 It was a bit underwhelming, but nothing horrible. I could not taste the garlic at all, but the fries itself was cooked to perfection with the outer being pretty crispy and inside being soft. Margharita pizza - 4/5 I really like the crust and the breading of this pizza. It was crispy and the pepperoni was cooked to perfection. I really like the small pepperoni because it gives an immense amount of flavor in each bite. The cheese and the tomato sauce was fine, but nothing special. Yuzu lobster pasta - 4/5 I wish I was able to taste more of the Yuzu since that's in the name of the dish, but I could not. If it was just called the lobster pasta I would say it's amazing. The tomatoes were perfect to lighten the entire dish with the heavy sauce and the pasta. The lobster was cooked fine. Other than that it was fine, but I would say either enhance the Yuzu flavor or remove it in the name of the dish. Burning thyme - 4.5/5 I really like the acid and the balance of sweetness and sour in this drink. Usually, I get skeptical when I make an alcoholic drink version because the bartender tends to over sweeten the drink, but this was not the case, and I enjoyed it a lot with our food.
