We were very reluctant to put a "ductless" system into our 93 year old house, desperate to maintain the look and charm - but Tyler walked us through several options that would help preserve the charm, and still keep us both warm in winter and cool in summer. He explained all of the benefits, and answered every (even silly) questions we had and made us realize it was time to "modernize" our home. To be responsible, we also had another company come out, to see what they would suggest and what they would charge. It was a no-brainer to go with Randy's. From the first visit, we felt they were the most professional, knowledgeable and patient. Tyler even came back out just to go over the details again, to answer more of our questions. They gave us options, 3 quotes to choose from, and the price was surprisingly affordable, alleviating my worst fears. (we didn't even wait to hear back from the second opinion!) The installers were completely professional, very concerned with keeping my house clean throughout the 2-day install, very nice, very informative the entire time. They went the extra mile to answer questions, and explain processes. I now have 2 Floor Mount and 2 Wall Mount "ducted ductless" mini splits keeping our entire house cozy, while all of the connections and tubes and such went under the house. We really thought we'd hate having these in our house, but we were happily wrong. They're fantastic, unobtrusive, quiet and fit right in. Even the outdoor unit that powers them all isn't a big deal at all. Nestled up to the side of the house, it's not even noticeable. This review might seem long and rambling but what I want to convey is how Professional, Caring and Outstanding all of the people at Randy's Heating are. I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to recommend them to everyone I talk to. The value for my money, their professionalism, and the sense of security and comfort they have given us is immeasurable. It was bumped up against a copper wire and literally melting. He quickly repaired that, explaining as he went along. Discovered some other glitches and needed to come back a second time, in 2 days with an ordered part that he replaced. Now the heater is working correctly and that was well worth the money. I liked the office staff and their excellent communication skills. Highly recommend their service.

We had Hart Plumbing come out. (They are one of the few plumbers in Kitsap County willing to service Bainbridge Island, so we were excited about that.) Thomas Castrataro came out to assess the job. He could not tell us even a ball-park estimate of how much time the job would take. He also could not tell us how much money it would ultimately cost. Finally, with considerable prompting, he said it would cost us $1500. If the job was going to take a max of three hours (more than enough time), that meant Hart Plumbing's Thomas Castrataro was hoping to charge us $500 per hour. Thomas came back with a second offer of $1000, but the $500 difference between the two offers, coupled with the fact he was going to drive to Silverdale (rather than just go to ProBuild or Ace Hardware on Bainbridge), charging us for that time and 21 miles driving (each way) also shook our confidence in his professionalism and his acting in good faith. Despite the fact that I had articulated that it was the sink that needed fixing, and the fact that Hart had a very spacious van, Thomas didn't have the materials necessary to re-attach the sink. He said he might have to drive from Bainbridge Island to Silverdale, because he didn't have an account with ProBuild or Ace Hardware on Bainbridge. Does that sound professional? We appreciate that Hart comes out to Bainbridge Island. (Other plumbing companies do not.) But frankly, we felt completely used, and will never recommend Hart to anyone. We had to hand Thomas $75 (plus tax) for no service (Hart's policy), which was painful. We thought Hart would at least have sent a plumber reasonably priced and acting in good conscience. We know there are many affluent people who would be willing to pay $1000 or even $1500 for this 3-hour max job. But frankly, we felt taken advantage of, and will NEVER call Hart Plumbing again: This company is a big red flag.

Again, similar to previous reviews, after taking several weeks to have someone come out and 'diagnose' the problem with our appliance, the paperwork was never turned it so that the 'next step' could be taken to schedule an actual technician. I had to make several follow up calls to ARP to get someone in to do the work. As they only seem to service my area only early in the week, I had to take off work to make sure someone was home and wouldn't you know it? They cancelled an hour before they were supposed to show up. By this time, we had waited 5 weeks from the time of our initial contact til now. After complaining to (one of several managers, it seems), I was told someone would come back out on a day more convenient for me. Someone did come out, worked on the appliance, and left, telling me he ran the appliance to make sure it worked. It didnt. Trying to reschedule again (now, 2 months later) has been a nightmare. When the receptionist is out, it seems they fill her position with someone who is not able to help and has little or no ability to make scheduling decisions. It was after my final conversation with 'manager' Ken that I decided to cancel my policy with Fidelity (making the referral to ARP), Ken's sh*tty, unprofessional attitude was the final straw needed to cut ties with both. We paid a service fee ($75) to have someone cancel on us and then NOT correct the problem. Before my own experience with this company, I read a customer review calling these folks 'crooks' - absolutely correct.
