I've been going to PND for over two years. I'd rather go without my nails being done than go to another salon. All of the nail techs are on point but I love YuYu. The best thing about the techs is that whatever style you show them they execute it so well. Aside from nails you can get waxed, get a massage or get eyelash extensions. I wanted a powder gel manicure for a cruise bc I heard they last best. I've tried PND last few years a couple of times based on reviews but was always underwhelmed. I noticed however most get a 'process' here so i thought for the gel they'd be good. HUGE MISTAKE! The technician DESTROYED my nails! She made then super thick with about 5 coats so they looked sooo phony but the biggest issue was she cut into my nails with the electric drill/file! She was doing my thumb and I had to stop her bc it hurt/burnt so badly! The gel fell off that nail in one piece 2 weeks later and as I suspected, my nail is all chewed up from the drill and really painful! I called and said what happened and that I wanted to come in for a soak off bc 2 other nails hurt and I was concerned about them too. They soaked it off, leaving lots of gel behind and walked away. I went to the man behind the desk again (I'd shown him my thumb when I got there and he said nothing) and said they feel rough and there's still glitter gel here and there. He again ignored me and said 'ok, we charge you $5. He didn't once apologize, not one sorry, nothing! I said it's gonna take almost a year to grow a new nail. Still nothing. I have horizontal lines at the top of every single nail, there paper thin (and they weren't) and so many damages, I won't be able to do anything except continually cut them as short as I can and pray they hold on but the thumb is already cut right through and I'm in danger of losing the nail. If you care about your nails, stay away and know the owner takes no responsibility nor has an concern for you!!! read more

At the time of my visit Feb 2 0 1 6 a gel manicure (note well a PROPER MANICURE not just nails painted) cost $25. Sparkle is an extra $5.00 for two nails. Normally this is a practice I have a problem with but Cici explained even before I asked that the sparkle colour I chose wasn't an ordinary gel but a powder. I have no problem paying more for more, that's very fair. They have the custom lamp tables so instead of holding your hands in any awkward way on the table while drying, you simply insert them into the two slots in the table that's just about butt level at perfect arms length while seated. Comfy. There's no loyalty card but the wonderful experience is what turns a try-out client into a regular. Mimi at House Nails in Valley Stream is still my fave but now that she has her days off on the days I'm available I'm happy I found PND. Yes ma'am. In the two years I've been searching New York for a decent, professional, classy, serene nail salon, (I don't ask for much) this is the first one that comes close to the salon I called home for over 7 years plus in T&T. The absolute BEST nail salon you could ever go to! You need to make an appointment but i've never had to wait more than 5 minutes for my seat to open. Zoey is the absolute best at what she does! Everyone is so friendly in here and they're very clean. The only downside is that they're pricey but for the quality of work they do I dont have a problem paying the extra money! WARNING!... They are called Professional Nail Design, but they can't actually complete your SIMPLE NAIL DESIGN REQUESTS. Me and my mother have been going to this nail salon for over a year and every time I would go they would be able to fulfill my design request to a certain extent. Recently, I went in to do a simple black and white French tip but there was a new girl working who made my nail chunky. When I asked her if she could fix it she got a attitude and started talking in a foreign language to her coworker. When she started painting the French tip it looked TERRIBLE. She clearly had no prior experience. When I asked if she could fix it she told me it looked exactly like the photo... She then continues to complain about me and laugh about the situation with her coworkers. My nails looked horrible so I asked if she could just paint my entire nail black... I was told I can't change my design. When we went to pay and expressed our frustration to the man at the register, he only got more upset with us. I was then blamed for changing my nail design last minute. We said next time we don't want the same girl working on my nails again, and he promptly told us he would rather we never return again. I really, REALLYYYYYYYYY wanted to rate this place 5 stars. I searched through Yelp to find a new place to get a manicure and pedicure. I was able to call and make an appointment for the same day which was great. I loved the atmosphere here, not loud and very relaxing. This business also stuck out because of its cleanliness. I am diabetic and the fact that they don't reuse all the tools on everyone is a HUGE plus! Only Con I just wasn't a fan of spending about $100(gel manicure+gel pedicure+lemon pedicure+ tip)for my services, then seeing that the tech made a mistake. Very disappointed - waited 45 minutes despite making an appointment. Update: Did my nails on Saturday 12/2/17 by Thursday (12/7/17) this "new nail polish" which is supposed to be amazing and costs $35 dollars - $10 more than regular gel mani - has chipped. Not even a week, and this expensive polish hasn't Update: This is my last time coming here. Not sure why I keep torturing myself with this place. They raised their prices again, and that would be fine - except that the quality doesn't stand up. I made a 5:30 appointment and my girl was still doing someone else's pedicure when I got here. It's 5:50 and I'm still waiting. They have no respect for my appointment time and there's a reason why it's by appointment only. Yesterday all the nail salons were allowed to open up again. As soon as I walked in the owner asked me to sign a waiver and then proceeded to text on his cell phone and avoid eye contact. I asked, "What am I signing?" No immediate response. "Is this so I don't sue you if I get the virus?" Uh... yeah. I signed it thinking they took all the measures to make the place spic and span (or at least close). Nope! My biggest gripe with this and other salons is they never clean the UV lamps you stick your hands in. This has to be the germiest part of any salon along with the nail driers. I was one of their first customers in months and this machine had fingerprints all over it AND was dirty. When another customer walked in they sat her right next to me when there were other stations open. And she used the same UV lamp as me without them cleaning it. The rest of the place was dusty which tells me they did not do ANY cleaning including the binders with the nail colors which was sticky. If you are going to have me sign a waiver - do your job! I also learned they opened up earlier when the customer next to me said to her technician, "I want the same thing you did last week". read more

I just got a pedicure, my other two companions got SNS powder manicures and pedicures. Very classy, modern decor very inconspicuous from the outside appearance. "Hidden Gem" is how I would describe it. Everyone was SO NICE! The ambiance of the place is very serene, peaceful and I like that it's not LOUD. The staff speak softly and calmly. Mendy, my pedicurist even asked if I was comfortable with the pressure she applied at the start of my massage. I selected a Lemon Spa pedicure which includes a 10 minute massage a leg scrub and lemon clay mask and finished off with a hot towel, which was monogrammed! Very fancy and I thought it was GREAT A SEPRATE got towel was used for each leg/foot. Usually places rush with one hot towel before it cools down. I had a pleasant experience and would definitely recommend this place to anyyyyyone. I'm not a Long Island native but one of the girls who came with me is a regular and I'm glad she also has nothing but great experiences over the last 10 years. read more

The real name of this place should be "Unprofessional Nail Design" I have been going to this place since April and the best experience I had was the first time and every time after that has been mediocre,dissatisfying, and to say the least disgusting.
