I went for the first time to and I thought I got a beautiful manicure, and then my nail cracked the polish chipped. The technician told me that besides giving me a gel polish she was applying at extra cost a clear polish that would make my nails stronger. I have religiously frequented Sakura for nearly two years now. I am still waiting for that OMG moment where their services or attitudes seem less than stellar. I have yet to experience something as such. Cedar is a legendary nail tech, with over 25 years of experience. Since my nails have been under her care, with a monthly (yep only once a month) Brisa gel fill, I have had no breakage or lifting. Nails stay put. As for pedicures, I have had different staff members and they have all done well. Sakura's spa pedicures feature a unique steaming process - I have not experienced this anywhere on Long Island. On a final note, individuals complaining about the alleged 15% tip (I don't see any signage there currently) should be ashamed of themselves. This is a service industry, with human labor and time at stake. 15% tip is a bare minimum in what a tech should be tipped with, especially when such stellar services are provided. read more

I visited today for the first time and it was a good experience. My regular salon shut down during Covid and I've been bouncing around trying to find a new home. My mother and I made a last minute decision to get pedicures and they took for us in easily. Now, I am 9mo pregnant and yes my reason for getting a pedicure is not just for self care lol I want this baby out! The gentleman who took care of me was very pleasant and observant of my condition. He adjusted the chair so I could recline and sit further back. Bending my hip/knees at this stage is very uncomfortable. He was gentle and assisted me in and out of the chair, even making sure I was positioned at the end of the row to accommodate my limitations. THE WORST NAIL SALON EVER!!! Unfortunately I cannot give ZERO stars! I went in on last week Wednesday to get a fill in and to replace 2 of my nails that were missing. The woman who sits at the first station waited half way into doing my nails to inform me that she is charging an extra $15 fee for long nails (which I've never paid anyone else before btw) I asked her why would she decide 1/2 way into doing my nails to include an up charge and not state anything prior to starting the work. She had no signs up displaying her prices, so she just randomly through an upcharge fee. GREED!!! Well fast forward to today (Monday) just 4 days later. I have 4 nails broken and chipped gel polish. I called the woman demanding a refund because the 2 nails that she replaced broke off over the weekend. She insisted that I get it "fixed" and I kept stating that they are extremely sore and bruised so I cannot fix it and risk getting an infection, so I prefer a refund. She was adamant on not giving me a refund, so I told her I'd be taking her to court. She loudly said "I DO NOT CARE NO REFUND" and hung up on me. When I called back the coward that she is had a customer answer the business phone by the name of "LAURIE RIFKIN" her "attorney" who stated that she is answering her calls now and claimed that she's her lawyer - like I give a shit!!!! I guess that was supposed to scare me off. These people are clearly unprofessional and DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!! They want "our" money that we work extremely hard for and what we get rude workers with horrible service. A true professional would not risk me getting an infection and would just try to settle the issue. So SCREW YOU and I will see you guys in court!!!! Eh. I came here because it was convenient and I needed a place in which I could just walk in for a pedicure. I arrived on a Saturday morning and it was pretty empty. There were two other people getting pedicures and another two getting manicures. I was a little disappointed to find that while the pedicure massage chair had an amazing roller ball massage, the chair was leaking water from the tub! I only found out because my bag, which was on the floor next to it, was wet when I picked it up! My orange color I chose for the manicure was also a poor choice - but due to poor workmanship. The nail tech left it mostly streaky and didn't even bother to take off the toe dividers so I just left with them on. Can't say I will go back. read more

Wow I'm shocked that there are no reviews for Sakura! I've been searching for a good nail salon in the area for a while now. I've been to the highly rated ones in town and they don't even COMPARE to Sakura!! I don't know if it's new management or a rebranding but I will say that I've found my go to salon and I'm so glad it's within walking distance from my house. I went in midday on a Saturday. It was quiet with one other customer. Super clean and relaxing. Celine did my nails and she ripped open tools from the bag coming straight out of the sanitizer so I know it's clean. She did a great job painting them. Usually I see gaps or the polish gets all over my cuticles but she did them Perfectly! Because of COVID, the salons in NYC were closed so I came to LI to get my nails done. I called Sakura for an appointment and I was able to secure a spot at night. When I went, they took me in and I chose the color I wanted. They have clear through dividers in the pedicure chairs separating you from other clients and the technicians. They also have dividers on the manicure table. I definitely felt safe getting my nails done here. Overall- a pedi and acrylic set took about 1.5-2 hours so definitely keep that in mind. They were busy but they took care to make sure I liked how my nails turned out. My technician name was Ethan (?) and he was great! My coworkers all said my nails turned out beautiful. read more

Never have I been to a nail salon where they care as much as I do about my nails. It was my sister and I's first time there, and as per the previous reviews suggested, we called prior and made an appointment. When we got there (we were 30mins late), the staff greeted us super warmly and started getting to work. I don't know how but my nail lady went above and beyond my expectations of this little nail salon I found on yelp! Celine was my nail tech and she was so friendly and nice, as was everyone there. She took her time making sure that my nails were to my liking and she did a fantastic job. They don't use new tools or clean their nail clippers, cuticle cutters, towels etc. They don't seem to know what they are doing and were hard to communicate with. Over priced and rude worke. I first walked in to Sakura to get a much needed Pedi. I got a Spa Pedi and since it was my first time here the owner offered $10 off. It's been almost three weeks and my toes still look perfect. While checking out they gave me a coupon sheet with different offers and of course this brought me back a second time. I went back for the second time to get a UV gel fill in. I did not make an appointment so I did have to wait a little but the owner was so attentive and accommodating. And once I sat in the chair to get my nails done I didn't feel rushed at all. The nail technician did a great job. I LOVE how my nails turned out and will definitely keep on coming back.
