I'm writing this review because today will be my last time coming here....I've been along time customer at this nail salon and I've had situations in the pass with rudeness...but I alway chalk it up as maybe she having a bad day but TODAY!! completely different these people want to do your nails how they see fit no matter what you say you want and paying for....I have OCD so if shit is not neat it throws my anxiety thru the roof!! You don't get to charge me $30 for a design just for it to be uneven and sloppy then on top of that tell me that the only person that knows how to do a French design has to do 2 people sets before she gets to me! Are you serious?!!!! I wouldn't have to sit here and wait if the lady that sits at #2 knew what the hell she was doing!!! This is unacceptable!!! Absolutely horrible... They did my first set which was green then the second time I came back I asked for a fill in and I wanted the pink gel color... the guy just filed my nails down to make them shorter and painted the pink right over the previous green color... by the time I realized the green was going to show underneath, I had already been there for two hours.... I was tired, hungry, and cranky... I told him I didn't like it and of course he called another worker over and they both stared at me confused. In what world of nails is this ok? I can't even look at my hands they're so disgusting. He did a half ass job and it shows. Never going here again... I gave them two stars because my pedicure came out decent... which doesn't even matter because they're usually covered, being that it's 30 degrees outside most days. read more

Some things are better the 2nd time around. My 1st review was not very pleasant because my experience wasn't. On the Fri before Valentine's Day I decided to give them a 2nd chance at the suggestion of a friend. By default weekends such as this can lead to poor customer service anywhere simply because of the large crowds but that wasn't the case. While there was a crowd (every mani chair was occupied) and most of the pedi seats. I was greeted right away and told to have a seat until the lady closest to the back door could take me (Rose). Currently, I place a wrap on my nails because they are not at a level where I can apply the gel directly to them. Rose was very pleasant and took her time with me and we chatted while she worked. Overall the quality of nails was very pleasing. She elected to apply the color several times, once more than the usual to ensure that the intensity of the color was exactly what I wanted. Awesome job! ($33) I was in and out in an hour and very satisfied with the quality of my service. I am now willing to giving Rose another try before committing to her and I doing this long term. While I'm not ready to let anyone touch my feet, I will observe them during my next visit and speak to other patrons to see what the 411 is. read more

This used to be my go-to as it is walking distance from my house. Usually packed meaning that they must be doing something right. I've been attended by multiple different technicians and they usually do a good job. My issue is that today my technician decided to continue to argue with me about not wanting a gel color (I was getting a fill-in). Today I did not feel like paying $12 extra dollars just for the gel. And if I said no once or twice STOP ASKING! Then when I ask her to trim down my nails she says thats an additional $5...since when?? I then look up to see a sign that says their mani/pedi prices are going up as of 3/1. What is the deal?? The salon is full! Stop raising your prices and trying to charge for dumb things. Went in today for a full set with gel polish. The women that did my nails was stationed at the second booth. She insisted to put tips on my nails that didn't fit my nail bed so some nails are different widths. I'm highly disappointed with the service. I asked for certain colors in a particular order and yet she did what she wanted. The application of the acrylic was fine only because she applied it thick but when it came to filing the nails she did bare minimum. So the lay over of the acrylic is lumpy and uneven because she decided to rush because she was " so tired" and typically when that happens when polish is applied you can see the error of application of acrylic. I paid $75 for this service and when I mentioned to not like them and that they needed correction her and her coworkers spoke about it in their language and when she realized she wasn't receiving a tip for it they continued to speak about me as I walked out. The job was done sloppy due to my nails being uneven, polish also was applied unevenly. Whatever monomer she used was literally burning my fingers the entire time. There is acrylic all over my fingers and cuticles which can cause an infection. She also clipped my cuticles dry, the tip of my nails are square and the other corners are round... Came here for a girls trip to the nail salon! First off, it was very loud. The bathroom has an out of order sign on the door, but it does work. The door itself opens on its own while you're in there. I typically shy away from places that push you to get additional services or where they don't make an effort to clearly communicate. I was also a bit confused as to why I was almost charged $30 for a clear polish change and a design on two nails with gold flakes. I've a customer of Rainbow Nails for three years and I have a great experience every time I come. Literally!! As with every nail salon, the technicians don't all have the same skill set. However, 8 out or 10 nail techs are awesome. While the other two techs are average. This is the same case with the technicians that do the pedicures as well. Most patrons are sociable and friendly! Their instruments are sanitized and the staff is willing to go above and beyond. Maggie keeps the salon stocked with all the tools needed to do the latest trends!! My nails are 4 weeks old and I still get compliments!! To top it all off there is parking in the back!! read more

Everybody does great nails so you don't have to worry about going to a specific person, very respectful staff as well! I have been going to this spot for ten years. Maggie does an excellent job. Other nail techs in the salon have done my nails, but it doesn't compare to how Maggie does it. I usually get pink and white or regular acrylic with gel polish. Today I tried the pink and white ombré and it's fabulous! As far as pedicures, I go to the lady with the yellow apron, I think her name is Angel. She takes her time and is meticulous. I usually get my nails done once a month. It lasts that long. I don't complain about the prices because I will pay for quality work. I moved to Brooklyn recently, and I still drive back to Queens to get my nails done. read more

So my she she la la nail salon is just to damn far so I found this place one day coming home from work. I was trying to take the back blocks to get on the highway and I came across this spot. I went in and I thought wow I can't handle this, not classy at all. It's........ It's not dirty but the foot bath wasn't what I'm normally use to. I sat very low in the chair like what am I doing. Then some lady who didn't speak a lick of English came to me and started my Pedi, all I can say is that she was very detailed and did an excellent job. I didn't have to constantly look over her work and make corrections like I do sometimes at my she she la la nail salon. The Pedi was very fast but very through I don't even call a foot massage and to be honest I don't recall location but whatever it was it was good and my toes was perfect. Next was my mani. She did an awesome job with that as well, I didn't notice how good it was until I saw my nails in some pictures hat my husband and I took and I was like damn they were perfect. Although their prices might be higher than most, the work is well done and last a very long time. You pay for the quality of the work. Both rose and maggie can do a magnitude of different designs. Update!!! I decided to go back to this salon after some time. Currently, my nail tech is Raymond (I love him). Even though my sister had a bad encounter with them I have to be honest & say that they are always very nice to me. So I'll be fair to say maybe both of them were having a bad day & clashed. My sister came home so mad and crusted after spending two days trying to get her gel arylic redone because it chipped the same day. She was ignored and lied to. She was not taken care of by Maggie the owner of the store at all, Maggie was unprofessional and rude to my sister. And the second day when she went to Jackie who did her nails originally he did not want to do her nails unless she paid $10!!! He argued with her, raised his voice and walked out leaving her at his desk without redoing her nail. Remind you this is her regular spot that she goes to every week or so. And this is how they treat her! I'm shocked and advise everyone who goes to change their nail salon . They have no customer service or know how to please their paying customers. I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT BACK IN RAINBOW NAIL SALON BY MAGGIE!!! Not only is Maggie the owner rude and unprofessional but she has no customer service representation for her shop. I got my nails done and the same day I got them done they chipped. I went back to get them repaired but she insisted I had to wait for Jackie my nail tech. I was told he would appear in 5-10 minutes, after 45 minutes of waiting he never came nor did she tell me that when she tried contacting him "he never answered"! Therefore I sat wasting my morning waiting for my nail tech that never was coming in the first place. I decided to come back the next day after confirming he was in the shop. I waited another 45mins until he finished a customers nails. When it was finally my turn and I showed him the damage nails. He insisted I had to pay $10 on top of the fact that I already spent $50. He raised his voice, got frustrated and threatening. He finally walked out on me leaving me at his station unsatisfied and with nails that needed repairing. The owner Maggie sat upfront doing a customers nails as if nothing was happening. I do not recommend this nail salon AT ALLLLLL!!!!!!! I went in for a manicure and pedicure but only ended up getting my feet done. First, the nail technician was rude and rushed. The salon was not packed but her eagerness to get me out of the chair was annoying. Don't be fooled buy the "wide selection" of nail polishes and gel color-match nonsense. 90% of those polishes are old and raggedy. Oh! It gets worst.
