I came in on a whim to get my chin hairs waxed. I was deciding whether or not to go to cvs and get a pack of small pre-waxed strips to do it on my own and I should've done that. They cut me up. I asked for wax and she waxed then threaded. Threading is always painful and I was hoping to avoid that, but she just started going. After the service, I did feel some stinging but thought that to be normal. Stinging after a wax isn't out of the ordinary. A day later I noticed the scars on my skin. I got the service on Sunday and I'm writing this on Tuesday. Some of the scarring has gone away but I shouldn't have been cut up in the first place. I'm never returning. read more

This place is tucked away in the back of The strip mall near Chase, Subway and the Cleaners... Definitely easy to miss. I sporadically get my brows threaded because I think it's inhumane (FYI I also think plucking is a little cruel too) but lasts a really long time. They are simply furnished like most threading places. I have been growing out my brows. So I told her that I wanted a nice arch and she went to work trimming, threading and shaping my brows. When she was done my brow area was on fire but looked really good. I will definitely be back in the name of vanity and convenience but not pleasure lol. read more

Yayyyy I found a new threading place. After going to my regular eyebrow place for years, I decided to try another threading place based on the review of one of my fellow Yelpers. A big pro is the parking lot because Merrick is very busy and parking can be a hassle. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and asked politely to have a seat and someone will get to me. They were already threading customers but that was ok. As soon as it was my turn I showed her how I wanted it and she did it exactly the way I asked. It didn't hurt as much as it usually does when threading. She was very gentle and fast. The cost was 7 dollars but I have her an extra tip for the great service and the outcome of my eyebrows. I had my eyebrows done at this establishment on 03/20/2019. It was waxed - followed up with threading for the hairs the wax missed. My final eyebrow result was good (the shape) - but unfortunately the following day I broke out from a rash which is still healing on the (R) eye and I had scabs on both eyebrows where the hair was removed. Unbeknownst to me, until after the waxing, I realized they consecutively dip in the wax with the same stick - I'm assuming that explains the rash. Due to hygiene issues and an awful first experience, I will not be returning. It's disappointing because the woman who did my eyebrows was quite affable. read more

Love Love Love this place. All of the women are so friendly and accommodating. A very important factor for me was they are focused on the "shape" of the brow. If I can give this business zero stars I would. Approximately 1 week ago Nupa installed individual eyelashes for me. Needless to say Big FAIL. I COULDN'T SLEEP first night they were brutally uncomfortable. To add insult to injury Nupa was unapologetic about the fact that i left with no eyelashes. Intially I was told before leaving the shop, day one that I couldn't take them off my self. I need to come in and have them removed for a charge of $5.00. Came in today to have them removed and left out with no eyelashes. NUPA was extremely rude and unsympathetic. Some how this was mu fault because i should have known that my own lashes would come off. No i didnt know this Nupa....had id know i certainly would not let u install them. How about informing yuour customers of this FACT. Came across this place while running my errands & I must say I like this place a lot ! most threading salons over charge sometimes $25 and I like a good bargain only $7 . The ladies are all very sweet & friendly . I'm big on good service & I wish I could give more than 5 stars just on how they interact with their customers , you can tell they have a loyal cliental . i was very nervous I hate going to new places because sometimes it's hit or miss & you get a bad brow job ! The first time I came here to do my brows I was so happy and please the lady in the first chair did my brows but the lady in the 2nd or 3rd chair is horrible. Pass this place everyday while on my way to work and decided to stop in on a desperate eyebrow day... First time getting eyebrow threading and first time at this location and I am pleased. They were friendly and kept my eyebrows thick as requested. They're reasonably priced at $7 which is a plus compared to the $18 I use to pay at European wax. I will be returning again. read more

I've been going to Nipa's for about a year. I always show them a picture of my own eyebrows in a shape I prefer. Most times it's a miss but it's fixable with my eyebrow kit at home. The last time I went, I must have been helped my nipa herself BC she did an amazing job. I was sure she had messed up BC when I looked at the tint she'd applied it was round. I was furious. Until I washed my face and saw she gave me exactly what I wanted - my old eyebrows. I went in yesterday and a young lady helped me. She was very nice. But she fucked my eyebrows up completely and I can't fix it by shading or coloring them in at all. She took both my arches away, the brows do no match. I couldn't see all of the damage yesterday BC my face was red as swollen from the wax and thread. I'm really fucking mad and won't be returning. I could see if I asked for jlo eyebrows - yeah. I would expect not to get that but I asked for my own fucking eyebrows. I made it clear exactly how I wanted them to look. If she couldn't do that she should have said so. I am highly disappointed in my experience here today. I been a customer of Nipa for over 6 years. 6 years! I been coming here since she had her other location on merrick blvd. I am what you call a loyal customer. About a month ago she messed up the shape of my eyebrows but i didn't really care because i wasn't going anywhere special. I just said to myself no big deal cause it will grow back. I let my hair grow back for a month purposely so she can give me back the full shape i had before. I went in there and explained to her what i want and she said mhmm mhmm. Low and behold the first brow she did she messed it up and did it too thin. I told her and she said i dont have enough hair. Which i do because i let it grow so she had lots of hair to work with to carve out the shape i wanted like she has always done the past six years. I told her i am not feeling this at all she explained the same line again and i told her no i had enough hair. She then said "why dont u go to who makes you happy then". That line crushed me because i was going to her for so long. How could you tell one of your most loyal customers that that has been coming here for years. Funny thing is on new years i made her do my eyelashes which was a horrible experience as well. The glue she used wasn't eyelash glue. So it clumped up on my eyelids and also caused a major irritation and swelling of my eye. And in that situation as well she was never apologetic she just said oh that happens sometimes. And brushed it off. But i just let that incident go but now today was the last straw. I explained to her how she made me feel these past couple of visits and told her i will no longer return to her establishment. She then said" I'm sorry" as i walked out the door. I just never even said anything back. I gave her a chance and then for you to tell me to go somewhere else crossed the line. She used to have two stores but she said she couldn't afford the rent anymore because it was too high so now she only has the one in Rochdale. You would think she would be more humble since she has only one place of business now but nope smh. And then after i opened the door to leave i hear her mouthing off in her language.
